I Came Back to Jakarta for FOOD
all right all right guys I'm back here in Jakarta Indonesia at the airport I just booked a grab uh to get to my hotel which is in the center of Jakarta um I was thinking to take the train because of the traffic but I checked on Google Maps and the traffic should be okay so let's hope for that and um yeah I'm excited to explore more of Indonesia now uh last time I only stayed on the island of java but now my plan is to visit some other Islands as well so make sure to um yeah follow along as let's go yeah and the good thing is that I registered my eim right before I came uh so I can book grab immediately because otherwise it's a bit of a hustle you know you need to buy the local Sim and um yeah it can be a queue really long or it doesn't work immediately and you need to wait for half an hour and uh it's a lot of administration so an eim is really really the way to go for me right now yeah I booked my grab and you can see there's like all the instructions here and I need to go to cofo that's the pickup Point uh excuse me sir coffee o cof coffe o it's there okay thank you oh I need to get my Indonesian going again T Massi so uh yeah and if you don't want to book grab there's so many people asking to be your taxi driver so there's lots of options look at this all taxis all taxis but for me grab is really the way to go you know it's connected to my credit card I don't need any cash to pay and also it's the safest way you don't need to high go you don't need to bargain okay so this is coffee o and the grab sign is right there you can see the green guys there so uh that's where I need to wait for the car yeah so another option was to take the sky train but the thing is I had to do the sky Train then another train and then a bus to my hotel so it was a bit annoying so I think like a taxi especially I'm a bit tired the taxi is like the way to go you know you straight to the place where you need to be and it's only $11 so that's okay you know that's okay for about an hour traditional Indonesian restaurant there you can see the m and here McDonald's all right oh it looks exactly the same as last time exactly the same as last time and I must say last time I really had a good stay here that's why I'm coming back because I know the area already I know the hotel already and uh I was happy so why not repeat my visit let me show you what you get for $30 per night in Jakarta entrance bathroom let's start with a bathroom a beautiful sink me pretty tired uh toothbrushes that's nice okay everything is here everything is here I've been here before I I don't know if I did a room tour last time but I think I did I'm not sure but now I'm doing one so this is the bed hell yeah hell yeah we have a little bench here and then here a working desk which is really nice we have a safe a fridge with nothing in it but it's on and tea and coffee and some water there and I think this is kind of cool I've never seen these from I's Hotel it doesn't look really my size though let's try well actually yeah not too bad not too bad let me try the other one because I didn't bring my slippers actually so this can work not going to roam uh the streets of Jakarta with these slippers but it's okay and what is our view here uh yeah this is Jakarta guys Jakarta so yeah $30 a night in the center of Jakarta and the reason I'm coming back here is because it's so quiet also that's very important to me because uh the traffic in Jakarta is really loud like honking and motorbikes and yeah it's very loud so I know this hotel is not loud at all it's quiet here and I really need that for good sleep all right guys it's now the next day and the plan is to go and find some saté we want to find the best sa in Jakarta and also I need to exchange some money and also I want to get a massage because I really need it like my shoulder is clicking or something not sure what's going on but before all that we will go to Holland Bakery because there is one nearby and so many people have told me that I need to try the lamper aam uh in Holland Bakery so that's what we're going to do first let's go okay okay let's rewind real quick picture this you just a 12-hour flight a 3-hour layover and another 4-Hour flight and you arrive in the new country exhausted you want to get to your hotel as soon as possible to chill out and relax but you first have to get that local Sim to be able to book a grab to text your mom that you arrive safe and sound so the solution to that is eims an eim is basically a virtual SIM card that you can buy online and activate on your phone before arriving to the new country so as my eim provider I use Holly and it's so easy to use really you just open the app select one of the 180 plus destinations and choose the right data plan for you has more people than the whole country where I come from I was almost going to say like it's further than I thought but here it is Holland Bakery and just for the record it's not a Dutch company it's not actually from Holland it's just a name so uh let's find that lamper I am tar P so um I hear the best Bas tree ever in Holland Bakery is lamper aam L you have it this is L which one is it oh this is lamp am okay can I have one please or should I take it okay wow it's like wrapped in a Banana Leaf yeah everybody tells me I have to try it it's so good very good I think last time I had this one the chocolate oh and I had this one that's what that was that one was my favorite but that's very sweet obviously this uh in this one yeah yeah my favorite also but but people told me I need to try thing or something I remember last time I was in Indonesia I had saté as breakfast so maybe it's more a breakfast thing I really love the design of this it's uh like a retro street food style looks nice looks nice I like it I prefer these over the the metal ones actually yeah so I have this theory that the sa is somewhere here because of all the smoke they don't want to put it in between all the other street food stalls because it's so so much smoke you know if you put like three sauté stalls there you know imagine there's a sauté stall there there there it would be like one cloud of smoke there so I guess that's why they put them in the corners like this guy here is really like somewhere you would never find him you really have to know about it oh yeah you see all the smoke hello M little bit burnt and it's the case here you taste that burnt meat mixed with the peanut butter a little bit sweet because of the ketchup a tiny bit spicy because of the sambar yes please so you might that will be the happy ending to my first full day here in Jakarta let's see so Google Maps tells me that it's right here huh I don't see anything hm that's weird I'm not lying guys look massage therapist even with four reviews so it's definitely here look at this it's definitely here but I don't see any signs um and not even a door where I can enter so uh let me find another place I guess massage it seemed a bit dodgy at first in the hotel room and everything like that was a bit weird to me but uh I think the massage culture here in Indonesia is not so common as in other Asian countries so uh it's a little bit strange but the massage was not too bad after all she was like standing on top of me and everything it was kind of good uh a little bit like that little girl was doing to her mom there before I went to the massage kind of funny but it felt kind of good uh because I I'm dealing with a little bit of um yeah I'm dealing with a little bit of a vlog shoulder a vlogger shoulder because I always hope my camera I think and for that reason wow it's so wet here and so much rain for that reason my shoulder is a bit painful and she kind of fixed it I think so that's that's good news uh but now um I'm heading back into katua I'll probably find some dinner and um yeah this is the end of the video so yeah you already know if you're still watching you're a
