Yogi Adityanath has organized the Mahakumbh in such a grand way that the leftists have lost their minds. Huge amount of money, I am told, over 9000 crore rupees is being spent. Now, see, this is a secular country. Our constitution says it is secular. So, public funds are not meant to be spent on promoting any religion.
Mamata didi also has the same problem that why is the government investing so much money in Kumbh? Kumbh is a government that helps thousands of people in quarantine. But the reality is something else. Brother, Burnol shop is over there. Will you go or should I bring it? So, as you know, in Prayagraj, Mahakumbh is going to take place on the banks of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers. According to our texts, Kumbh has been going on since the beginning of the earth.
But if we talk about written evidence, then Chinese traveller Huan Song mentions it in his account. Basically, Kumbh is of four types. One is Magh Kumbh Mela, second is Ardh Kumbh Mela, third is Purn Kumbh Mela and fourth is Mahakumbh Mela. And now, in Prayagraj, Mahakumbh Mela will take place. Which takes place once after 144 years. This Kumbh Mela is going to be very unique in itself.
That's why Yogi Adityanath has made every possible arrangement to make this Mahakumbh successful. And according to official estimates, more than 40 crore travellers will come from 85 countries in this Kumbh. Many big celebrities will also come. Be it Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor or Alia Bhatt. Apple's co-founder Steve Jobs' wife is also coming to Kumbh Mela.
Because of this mega event, India is going to get 2 lakh crores directly. And some data also shows that this figure can easily cross 3 lakh crores. But now the question is, how did this change in Uttar Pradesh come? This didn't happen overnight.
Uttar Pradesh, which was once known for its highest crime history. How did it start becoming famous for its temple economy? This is a very big question. And according to SBI report, Uttar Pradesh's temple economy will easily cross 50,000 crores by 2028. And this is not the GDP of 3 -4 countries combined.
What is the message that Yogi Adityanath wants to give us through this Kumbh Mela? Let's see all this. First of all, we have to understand that Kumbh is not being organized for the first time. Kumbh has been organized for more than 2500 years. But now Kumbh has become an economic superpower more than a spiritual event.
But it was not always like this. Old ruling government, be it Congress or Socialist Party. In their ruling tenure, they also organized Kumbh. But they not only realized the economic potential of Kumbh.
But they also increased negligence in basic management and security measures. Due to which many accidents took place during Kumbh. The year was 1954. When from Panchayat to Parliament, it was the government of Congress. Kumbh was organized in Prayagraj only. But mismanagement was so much that there was a ruckus.
And more than 2000 Hindu devotees were killed. It was written that only a few beggars were killed in the government record. Nehru Ji also went to this Kumbh. For which the whole administration was put. And Hindu devotees were stopped from doing rituals of Kumbh.
Due to this, the crowd increased. And more than 2000 people were crushed and killed. In this incident, the dead were called beggars in the official records. But there was jewellery on the dead bodies of women.
And these photos are the living evidence of that incident. When people were dying in such a big incident. Then government officials were enjoying tea and snacks. And to hide it, the next day, the government immediately collected all the dead bodies and burned them. Even after such a big incident, Kumbh was taken for granted by any government of any party. Let's talk about the Kumbh of 2013.
In which millions of Hindu devotees had come for bathing in Prayagraj. In that, the Socialist Party had made Azam Khan the core committee chairman of the Kumbh fair. Yes, you heard it right. Azam Khan was made the chairman of the Kumbh. The snake was kept on guard in the rice field. And because of this, there was a riot at Prayagraj railway station.
In which more than 40 Hindu devotees were killed. After this accident, it was revealed in the report that there was a crowd at the railway station. Because the state government had not arranged enough buses for transportation.
And according to the report of CAG, the Kumbh was destroyed. The total budget for the arrangement of Kumbh was 1152 crores. Out of which 341 crores were given by the central government alone. Out of this also, 134 crores were unutilized. Despite this, 800 crores were asked separately. Which the Akhilesh government put in its own work instead of the Kumbh.
The contribution of the Socialist government itself was only 10 crores. That is 1%. God eats more than this. According to the report, the medicines of crores had reached after several days of the fair. Apart from this, only 5 divers were arranged to save 12 crore devotees from drowning while bathing. This was the security arrangement.
After this, I remember this clip of Nayak movie. But guess what? When this fraud of Adham Khan was exposed in front of everyone, the pressure of resignation was put on him. Akhilesh Yadav refused to accept his resignation. That's a different thing that if there was a little bit of this and that in the Iftar party, then Akhilesh Yadav would have become the Babar Azam of Adham Khan. And it is obvious that Akhilesh Yadav's major vote bank belongs to the Muslim community.
So what's the big deal in a Hindu fair like Kumbh? In his tenure, the Socialist Party has always been focused on making the Mughal identity the identity of UP. For this, Akhilesh Yadav has built Mughal Museum, Agra Heritage Center and Tanjore Museum in his tenure. For this, Akhilesh Yadav had laid the foundation of many sites like Taj Orientation Center. For this reason, the Socialist Party used to organize events like Iftar Party. That too on a large scale.
For this reason, the Taj Mahal was known as the identity of India by Akhilesh Yadav. And for this reason, the cap was also worn. By the way, Congress has never been behind in this appeasement. But anyhow, overall, the previous government, especially the Socialist Party's focus was that the tourist economy of UP should be focused only on Muslim monuments. Forget the potential economic power of Kumbh. On the contrary, they used to organize Kumbh so poorly, due to which many devotees used to feel uncomfortable.
And many devotees have died in this process. But all this is changing now. How? Let's see further.
See, Yogi Adityanath became the CM of UP in 2017. Uttar Pradesh has seen exceptional growth in his leadership. In fact, within a year of his arrival, the revenue growth of UP had increased by 24%. The GDP had doubled. Even the state exports, which used to be 88,000 crores, increased to 2 lakh crores.
After Yogi's arrival, the law and order in the state improved a lot. During the time of the Socialist Party, Uttar Pradesh was called the worst state in terms of law and order. But Yogi Adityanath became the scapegoat of all these goons and mafias.
These mafias will be destroyed. And then Yogi started the bulldozer and gun. Due to which crime was reduced a lot. Many times, the car was also overturned. Yogi did so much crackdown on goons and rioters, that in just one year, he seized the property worth more than 1849 crores of these mafias. Now the criminal himself used to say, put me in jail.
Yogi also ensured that there should not be a single riot in Uttar Pradesh while he was alive. While you know, that during the time of the previous government, Uttar Pradesh used to be famous for more than 5 riots. But apart from all this, the major change that Yogi Adityanath has made in UP, is in the economy of UP. The work of taking the economy of UP to a new height with the help of the temple economy. Unlike the previous government, which did not allow the recognition of UP in the name of the tourist economy, more than the Mughal monument. And that's why, Yogi started making UP a cultural hub.
Understanding the potential of the temple economy, Yogi brought the Hindutva renaissance in UP. For which he started rapidly restoring the Hindutva identity of UP. And apart from all this, when the Mahakumbh is happening in UP after 144 years, then Yogi Adityanath, has made a very heavy investment and arrangement to make this Mahakumbh more successful and grand.
According to the report, the Uttar Pradesh government has invested around 75 billion rupees for the Mahakumbh. According to one estimation, around 40 billion tourists are going to be included in the Mahakumbh from all corners of India and the world. Which was only around 25 billion in 2019. For this reason, Yogi has also made some special arrangements, so that there can be no mistakes like the previous government. Let's talk about some of the arrangements. Yogi Adityanath is building the Mahakumbh Nagar on the banks of the Sangam. Which will be a temporary city.
In which thousands of tents and shelters have been built. In which millions of devotees will be accommodated. In the Kumbh region, more than 2000 Swiss cottage style tents have been built. In Prayagraj, the tent city will be illuminated with 60,000 steel lights. Along with this, more than 100 roads will be renovated and beautified.
By using 308 pontoons, 30 pontoon bridges have been built. If we talk about the investment, the Yogi government allocated a budget of 60 crores alone to make the city walls magnificent and grand. The city walls are being decorated with street art, murals, sculptures, landscaping, grill belts, and traffic signs. The city walls are being decorated with Hinduism and religious symbols.
Which makes the city look like a city of gods. Along with this, 800 multi-language signages have also been installed. So that no visitor has any problem. Apart from all this, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has trained more than 2000 ferrymen. So that the safety and convenience of the devotees can be taken care of. For the devotees, three temporary sewage treatment plants have been installed.
So that the water of Ganga and Yamuna remains clean. Along with this, the Yogi government has also focused on making this Kumbh eco-friendly. Then whether it is to generate solar power for it, to recycle reusable materials, or to ban single-use plastic. A dedicated app has also been made for the convenience of the people. Which will provide real-time updates, crowd density, emergency alerts, directions, and accommodation details. Temporary Wi-Fi zones have also been made.
The Uttar Pradesh Pavilion is being built near the Nagvasuki Temple. Where many tourism circuits have been made. Like Ramayana Circuit, Krishna Bridge Circuit, Buddha Circuit, and Bundelkhand Circuit. Handicraft markets will also be set up here. In which millions of crores of business will take place.
And how many will get employment. Along with this, many cultural programs will also be held here. And as you know, in the matter of security, Yogi Adityanath's track record has always been very good. This time also, advanced surveillance systems have been installed in this Kumbh. Like AI-powered crowd density monitoring and facial recognition technology is being used. Thousands of CCTV cameras and drones have already been deployed for aerial surveillance.
Underwater drones are also being used for the first time in this Kumbh. Which will provide 24x7 surveillance. Cyber help desks and 56 cyber warriors will monitor the online threat. Many multi-disaster response vehicles have been deployed. Which can handle natural disasters to road accidents. Along with this, the Yogi government along with the central government has also ensured that some special trains should be run.
So that the devotees do not have any problem in coming to Prayagraj. And all these efforts will make this Kumbh a spiritual as well as an economic powerhouse. How? Let's see further. See, this time, that is, the Mahakumbh of 2025, is going to give India a very big economic boost. That too not of 100-200 crores, but of more than 2 lakh crores. Which in 2019 was 1.2 lakh crores.
Only Uttar Pradesh is going to get an economic boost of 25,000 crores from this. In this much, Pakistan will be sold 4 -5 times. Still, money will be saved. In fact, if we believe some reports, if a pilgrim spends 8,000 rupees for Mahakumbh, then according to the expected crowd, the total revenue will be more than 3 lakh crores. And after that, Bangladesh can also be bought 3-4 times. Now compare it with the last Mahakumbh in 2013.
Which was organized by the government of the Samajwadi Party. In that, only 12,000 crores were earned. Now in such a situation, so much money is going to be generated from this Mahakumbh, that small vendors, such as tempo drivers, rickshaw pullers, florists selling flowers near the temple, cameramen, boat operators, and the local economy is going to benefit a lot from the earnings of the hotels. It is absolutely certain that the entire infrastructure of the areas around the Kumbh Mela and the entire city will experience a big economic boom.
Because the government is investing 55 billion only on infrastructure. It is also 100% sure that Mahakumbh will be very beneficial for religious sites such as Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura, and areas like Vindhyavasini Dham. New job opportunities will also be available from Mahakumbh.
According to the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, 45,000 families have been given employment. Apart from this, the state government is also going to benefit from ads and marketing. India's big companies and businessmen are already ready to spend at least 3,000 crores on branding and marketing in the 45-day Mahakumbh. For the Uttar Pradesh government, this Kumbh is such a chance where it can show the cultural identity of India and the infrastructure development in UP to the people of the world. There is a lot of difference between Uttar Pradesh 10-12 years ago and now. These visitors will see this change with their own eyes.
And there will be no shocking thing in this that because of this change, these people from all over the country started coming to the religious tourism of Uttar Pradesh again and again. And ultimately, India's economy is going to get such a major boost that can't even be guessed right now. And even the Prime Minister has agreed to this. There is another party related to Kumbh which is not so much discussed. This is the expansion of economic activities from Kumbh.
We are all seeing how fast economic activities are coming in this area before Kumbh. For about a month and a half, a new city will be built on the banks of the Sangam. Millions of people will come here every day.
In order to maintain the entire system in Prayagraj, a large number of people will be needed. More than 6,000 of our navigators, thousands of shopkeepers, those who help in the worship and meditation, everyone's work will increase a lot. This means that a large number of employment opportunities will be available here. We will get social strength. People will also get economic empowerment.
But it's not just limited to Kumbh Mela. India is making religious tourism a major strength of the Indian economy. Let's understand this further. Not only Kumbh, our other temples and other religious sites, they all boost the economy. In simple words, it's called the temple economy. The temple economy has a big role in the Indian economy.
NSSO's survey says that the value of the temple economy is 3.02 lakh crores. In other words, it's 40 billion dollars. Which is about 3% of the GDP. According to another report, 1 out of 4 Indians want to visit Hindu places. And this shows India's potential spiritual tourism.
Still, instead of boosting the economy, the previous governments tried to end it. And this is not a recent phenomenon. This trend has been going on since the time of independence.
When it came to renovating the Somnath temple in 1951, it required funding. But Nehru refused to give funds. And as you know, a bullet can leave the 7th stump, but Congress can learn from its mistakes. This is not possible.
Last year, in Karnataka, where Congress is the government, it was announced that no money will be given for the temple renovation. But it's fortunate that apart from Yogi, BJP's central leadership also took the temple economy's potential seriously. Because of which the current government properly facilitated Hindu temples.
Renovations were done. These renovations were not done on the basis of construction, but were done by reviving the broader aspect of the temple economy and India's cultural identity. The current government built proper corridors around the temples. Connecting roads were made broad and improved for the temples.
Hotels were developed in the temple campus. Proper transportation was streamlined to reach the temple. And the ultimate result of all this was that the revenue of the central government in 2022-2023 was 19.34 lakh crores.
Out of which, only 6 temples collected 24 ,000 crore cash. According to the Ministry of Tourism's data, religious tourism alone attracted 1400 million tourists this year. And Hindu sites earned 1.34 lakh crores
in revenue. And it is believed that this sector can generate a revenue of 69 billion by 2028. In fact, it is also being predicted that if this is the pace, then 140 million temporary and permanent jobs will be created by 2030 due to the temple economy. And you should know that these numbers have not increased overnight. The government's proper planning has been behind this.
In 2014, the Ministry of Tourism launched the Swadesh Darshan Scheme. Its main aim was to develop and renovate Hindu infrastructure for religious tourism. More than 75 projects were sanctioned under this scheme. Which were spread throughout the country in many states. For which 5292 crore rupees have already been allotted.
In this, the Buddha Circuit, Heritage Circuit, Himalayan Circuit, Krishna Circuit, Ramayan Circuit, Spiritual Circuit, Tribal Circuit, all these are being developed. In some places, these projects have also been completed. Like Sri Mahakal Corridor was developed in Ujjain. And the interesting thing was that after the construction of the corridor, almost 5 crore devotees came here.
The Vishwanath Corridor of Kashi has also been developed. And after the construction of the corridor, in the last 3 years, more than 19 crore devotees have come to the Kashi Temple Corridor. Along with this, Char Dham Railway project is also being worked on to connect Charo Dham. This project will join Yamnotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. And in its alternate, the Char Dham Highway project is also being developed. And even with this, the Indian economy is going to get direct benefits in the long term.
Apart from this, if we talk about the Ram Mandir, which was inaugurated last year. After which, there was a slight decrease in the number of people in India. Even there, in 2024, 135.5 million domestic and 3,153 international visitors came. Today, due to the Ram Mandir, the prices of Ayodhya's local properties have increased by more than 10 times.
According to an estimate, Ram Mandir is going to generate a revenue of up to 25,000 crores this year. Apart from this, the temples also get donations, which play a very important role in economic activities. Just now in 2021, Ram Mandir had collected 5,450 crores in the form of donations. Which was more than our defence budget. Apart from this, there are many important temples in this list, which get donations in crores.
Be it the Tirumala Tirupati Temple, which had collected a donation of 3,023 crores. In Vaishnodevi, 2,000 crores. In Ambaji, 4,134 crores. In Dwarkadheesh, 1,172 crores.
In Somnath, 1,205 crores. And in the Golden Temple, 690 crores were collected. In the Tirupati Temple alone, the gold donation was about 130 kilos. But now the question arises, how is the temple economy changing India? Let's see further.
See, in ancient and medieval India, the temple economy had a very big concept. And the entire area's economy revolved around temples. Temples used to be the hub of trade routes and business. Programs like urban development were run by temples. People used to get loans from temples for agriculture and trade. And this was the time when India used to be the largest economy in the world.
In the time of the British, this culture was broken. And India's economy fell. And now it is being revived again to a level.
From Kumbh to Ayodhya and from Varanasi to Kedarnath. As India is moving towards a dynamic and inclusive economy. These cultural events are creating new employment opportunities for people. At the same time, they are also showcasing India's Hindutva ideology globally. If the government pays attention to this, then religious tourism and festivals will be economically beneficial. But infrastructure will also be developed in the entire area.
And at the same time, Hindutva as a soft power will be developed globally. This economy of temples and Hindutva will generate employment opportunities. There will be development of rural and local areas. Sectors like hospitality, tourism, transport and communication will also be developed.
And there will be a lot of growth in the service sector as well. Overall, India will move very fast. The concept of religious economy was adopted very well by Vatican City and Mecca i.e. Saudi Arabia. And they have brought their economy to such a state that they do not even need to be dependent on anything else. If India also seriously understands its cultural identity, which is Hindutva, and adopts temple economy, then it can bring development in a new direction for India.
But a lot of work is still left for the government to become Mecca and Vatican City. From Sambal to Kashi Mathura. Till now, the government seems to be moving in the right direction.
