[Music] I don't know where my mind goes if I let it R on the run in the sun kicking dust with the wild mustangs I'm always want to let my heart get away and I've been chasing it down collecting scars along the way but oh it can be so picturesque to Hope without knowing what comes next we're in a tiny RV so we brought a tiny bottle of liquefied to go in it obviously the bottle Size Doesn't Matter the tanks have to be treated regardless but this has been working great we've been in this RV for a few weeks and we still have clean sensors which is you know kind of a holy grail of tank cleaning so we're going to treat this tank per usual and I have it I have haven't smelled anything bad at all no this we haven't smelled anything with this stuff in in either of the RVs stock up for camping season now because every dollar you spend between now and may of 2025 gives you an entry into their RV giveaway Sweep staks use the link below to enter you do not need to make a purchase but every dollar you spend gets you extra entries I already put a half gallon of water in the tank right after flushing it just so I have a good measurement and that way I only have to do about a half a gallon here you even probably close to a gallon thank you to liquefied for sponsoring today's video Cades Co is a valley and there is a Scenic Loop that's 11m Loop oneway traffic only it goes counterclockwise and it is 11 miles with a bunch of different stops along the way it is the most visited attraction in the Smoky Mountains National Park I've never been you haven't been as an adult it's been a little while while it's been a little while since I've been there yeah bye so we're going to learn about the history along with you guys at the same time in one two three we are now in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that's how close the campground is to the National Park it's basically almost inside the national parks it is only September the 16th 17th something teth did I just say that this was filmed back in September that's forever ago a lot of you know that we delay our content and our content doesn't come out right after we film it occasionally though we get some people who get really mad about this and they are confused by why our videos are out so much later I guess than when we actually filmed it there is a reason for this and basically it's because we've learned that you know life can throw you curveballs and and we weren't ready for the curve balls that hit us this time yeah we had uh well you had a cancer diagnosis uh my father passed away so we had a lot going on over the holidays and we just weren't up for traveling luckily for us our content is filmed um several months back and it's not always you know 6 months ago sometimes it's just a month or two it just depends on where we are in our travels another reason is that we make two different kinds of videos you know we have our travel content our locations and just uh RV lifestyle videos and we also have educational videos and they like to intersperse those so you don't get bored with one kind of content yeah so anyhow back to Cades C we had a blast and we hope you enjoy watching it let's see how busy Cades Cove Loop Drive is on a shoulder season I'm excited I'm hoping that it's a lot less traffic I think be great hopefully we get to see some wildlife in addition to the 11m Loop Road this area also holds a visitor center Campground picnic area and riding stable what are they all taking pictures of I don't know what are we missing is there an eagle or something up there I don't see anything just be an eagle all right what's up there oh oh there he is up in the tree see oh he's up in the tree I'm going to pull over here we'll get a shot okay l in the shade feel the breeze close my eyes and think twice that's life what does it mean I'm on that fine line here between day and night Hing the Twilight dear we only while we're going to go drive through right up there and drive through the campground hopefully we'll get there through there without being stopped it says registered campers but it doesn't say where you have to be registered as a camper we were thinking about coming in and trying to stay here but it was all dry camping no hookups at all which is fine but yeah we're not exactly equipped to stay a long [Music] time I think like a 25 30t little camper been in here are fine but much bigger than that I don't think you fit dry camping tent camping that kind of thing be perfect here over here is a dump [Music] station be where you are I to be where you are I to be where you are Cades Cove Campground is open yearround and offers primitive camping but does have flesh toilets and drinking water on site I think we picked a great time of year to visit Cades Co because there were no crowds at all you can see in the campground how empty it [Music] was broke out the SE covered and R where you are is where I want to run where you are it's where I want to run I want to be where you are I want to be are I are I are the 11m oneway Loop Road circles the cove and provides access to hiking trails opportunities for wildlife viewing and chances to explore the many historic hites cemeteries and [Music] churches I want to be where you are I want to be where you are I want to be where you are I want to be where you [Music] are over 100 years before the park was created many families worked and played in the Cades Cove Valley before Europeans settled in the valley Cherokee Indians traveled through there there are plenty of designated spots to pull off to stretch your legs or take pictures you should allow 2 to 4 hours to tour Cade's Cove maybe longer if you want to access some of the trails take of you along the way my love one day time [Music] will there are two shortcuts through Cades Cove both Sparks Lane and highet Lane support two-way traffic heading north and south Sparks Lane provides quick access to the campground and picnic area the John Oliver cabin is the first historic structure on the loop and also the oldest John and his family arrived and began settling into cate's Cove in 1818 so the trail to the John Oliver cabin there's they have this PVE Trail here that's. 3 and then they have a dirt Trail 2 miles there so we're going to take the paved up and then the dirt Trail back and our bear spray and bear whistles and the Jeep back in the cabin not going to do us much good here throw a camera at him [Music] okayy of you along the [Music] way the Cherokee were present at the time of the Oliver's arrival and had an active settlement according to lria Oliver the family survived their first winter only because of the generosity of the Cherokee Who provided them with food wow can you imagine babe this is your front porch and you come out and that's your view look at that the Cove was different in 1818 from how it looks today when the Olivers arrived it had not yet been extensively cleared for agriculture and was densely forested except for the West End Of The Cove which was swamp land look this has gotten upstairs roof needs a little work okay we're taking the dirt path [Music] back this nice nice and cool through here yeah what were they looking at what were they looking at right there where right out your window straight across oh yep well I saw I saw something moving in there yeah somebody was good at the spot in that thing cuz I didn't see it time me be we're about 2 miles into the loop if that we've already seen two bears and one deer so we're already like blowing our record out of the park yeah and it's only 4:00 and so we're not even in like the prime viewing time it's so pretty this is so pretty so pretty this is the way to see it it's just like me when I was 14 except cameras like that didn't exist we had a the giant the giant camcorder I'm going to read you guys a little bit about what we're going to see next oh story time we're going to the Primitive Baptist Church some of the earliest settlers established this church in 1827 a log building served their needs until this one replaced it in [Music] 1887 the Primitive Baptist Church was first organized in 1827 and was the first church established in the [Music] Cove initially the church had no permanent structure for meetings since it was the first church established church meetings were held in the homes of members until the fall of 1832 when the log building was constructed for meetings and services members of Primitive Baptist did not stop meeting at the church until the 1960s and it is often still used for religious events or [Music] ceremonies the cemetery at Primitive Baptist is the the oldest cemetery in the cove and descendants of early settlers are still being laid to rest in it today I won't forget the [Music] way you're moving through my space the energy in your and I can't think of who I be right let my mind down there's nowhere else i' rather [Music] be the Cades Cove Methodist Church was constructed In 1902 but the congregation can be dated back to 1830 we can go up this way I think okay let's do that going on a little mini hike in 1902 the Coes methodists replace the Old Log meeting house with the current frame building this church follows the design of having two entrances for the practice of dividing men and women up during services but the methodists in Cades Cove never followed that custom there's the two front doors I wonder which side was for men and which side was for women blacksmith and Carpenter Reverend mccampbell was said to have built the structure for $115 in 115 Days mccampbell Later served as the church's Minister for many years the Methodist Church's cemetery is most likely the second oldest church burial plot in the cove and continues to be used by descendants many of the cove's early settlers are buried [Music] here for in the hills of Appalachia no sir you wouldn't know the name it's prettier than heaven and where I'm at the world but it ain't got no other claims to Hyatt Lane is the second cut through Road located 3 miles into Cades Cove Loop Road on the [Music] left Missionary Baptist Church started in 1839 when 13 members split from the Primitive Baptist Church based on differences in beliefs the current structure of the Missionary Baptist Church was built in 1915 uh this is [Music] beautiful I don't think that's the code the congregation was small and initially met in members [Music] homes like other churches in the Cove the Civil War disrupted meetings from October 1862 to 1865 Rogers you got to know when to fold and I ain't got the money left to call [Music] so I'm heading on home to a girl that I've been wri no she don't care I ain't no star you got to know when to [Music] hold little spots color dra out [Music] to remember how I smell to remember how I felt to remember the clo you T I'm for Hills of appach no sir you would know the name but it's prettier than heaven and where I'm at the world and where I'm going again [Music] Cooper Road Trail was originally an Indian Trail that was improved into a road in the 1830s it was the best way for Pioneers who lived in the west part of the Cove to get through the Smokies for H in the hills of Appalachia no sir you wouldn't know the name but it's prettier in heaven and where I'm at the world and where I'm going again Abram Falls Trail is a 5m roundtrip hike through road to dendrin Hemlock and Pine Oak Forest that ends at a 25 ft waterfall it is the most popular hike in Cades Cove times and places are all in who you share them with and it's life and the point is [Music] en the cable Mill Area contains many of the buildings typical of remote Appalachian farmsteads we're at the halfway point of kad's coat Loop and that's where the visitors Center is and that's where the restroom facilities are and it closes at 5:00 and it's 4:59 I think the restrooms probably stay open but the visitor Center's closing I'm going to be here open or not okay you heard it here [Music] folks the Gris Mill is on its original site other historic buildings in the complex were brought from elsewhere in the park [Music] the blacksmith shop the typical of an oldtime blacksmith shop in the co was built in the [Music] 1950s and home is who you share with I believe what the point is is enjoying who you share [Music] with [Music] Jo John cable built his waterp powerered Gris Mill and Sawmill around 1870 it was one of several in Cades Co that served about 670 residents [Music] who you share with adjacent to the mill is the Greg Cable House built in 1879 this is the first and only remaining allframe house in Cage's Cove the Greg Cable House is believed to have been constructed using some of the earliest Timber cut on the cable Mill a store was operated on the first floor many of the products necessary for daily life could be purchased there without going to the larger markets of marville or Knoxville wasn't trade you for anything middle of the night laughing till we cry you know what I'm thinking you don't even have to try always by my side wouldn't trade you for anything at the days in every weekend you're the only one to call my best friend anywhere you go you never be alone I'm ride by I wouldn't tra like we related you're the only one to call my best no one best best the Dan and Lawson house was originally constructed in 1856 using logs but later additions were framed even later the entire building was covered with sighting viewing the house from the side offers a clear visual of these additions Dan Lawson was the postmaster of the cove for over 25 years and for many years the post office was in the center room of this building the small building closest to the house is a Smokehouse and the other is a Greenery at the days in every weekend you're the only one to call my best friend anywhere you go you never be alone I'm right by side went tra the they want to call my best friend together no one makes better my best the Tipton Place Homestead was initially settled by Revolutionary War veteran William fighting Billy Tipton in the 1820s a large cabin was built in the 1870s the homestead was complete with a large two-story cabin double pen Corn Crib blacksmith shop and a Calver Barn this type of barn which was common in the 1800s allowed a wagon to pull through and unload hay or feed for the livestock in addition the two pen design with the large overhanging Eaves provided protection for animals and equipment so we're about to finish the loop got to see quite a bit a few animals but we're going to do one more short Loop using the two cutover paths yeah so SP Lane we're going to take North and then we're going to do a little bit of the loot that we just did in hopes of seeing some Bears because it's 6 o00 and then we'll take high at Lane back down and then come back around and then that'll be that but yeah we saw everything that was exciting I think we picked a really good time of year to come yeah it's shoulder seasons are great the SK got CLS stars are hiding and the mo are shining August Breeze feels like October but hey I get to get you closer got us a trunk we can split this the kind of story usually ends with a kiss all knows I got you near girl I'm just happy to be here let's hop onto that hooding L and watch your Fire Fly parade your head on my shoulder if we were in that Pride day crowd know all I'd be thinking about is us alone so I'm a Hold You Even though got clouds stars are hiding in the moon for shining the August Breeze feels like October but here I get to get you closer got us a trunk we can split and this the kind of story usually ends with a kiss all knows I got you near girl I'm just happy to be [Music] here Ain the way we I would go go with you I'm lot but we got a couple of things which is more than we usually get yes and you never know what might happen in the campground because there was bear scat right there in a campsite in our Loop so maybe we'll see something there maybe that was great that was one of the most beautiful drives I've I've been on I mean that was just gorgeous great day lots of fun now it's time to chillax with our little furry four-legged [Music] Beast trying Pizza in the conve microwave the great thing is is you can sit on the toilet you don't have to sit on the floor you can just sit on the toilet I convection if you want to do other stuff on the toilet while you do the convection you can yeah and then I hit 400 and then I hit start and I'm just going to let it warm up did you miss this today
