foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] sometimes it takes coming to a place twice to realize just how much you love it that's how I feel about Bangkok because even though I loved it when I came here about two years ago more or less in the height of the pandemic where there were next to no tourists here and you had to do a two-week Hotel quarantine it was very different times back then now Bangkok is teeming with tourists the prices are higher but somehow I love it even more today is actually my last day here in Bangkok so I thought that I would film this video showing you guys some of my favorite places in the city not so much touristy places if you want to see those you can watch some of my you know prior videos I went to like Grand Palace and water Rune all those kinds of places for my last day I just wanted to go to some of my favorite places and share them with you guys and also I will be meeting up with a really good friend tonight who is also a travel YouTuber so stay tuned for that and thirdly I wanted to do a sort of price video showing you guys approximately how much I spend on an average day here in Bangkok because prices have definitely gone up so to start things off the hotel that I was staying at is about a 20 minute walk off of sukum vit overall a very good location and I am paying 30 US dollars a night for a very spacious room good amenities lovely staff no complaints the only negative I would say is actually that there's not a lot of good breakfast places in the area so what I've been doing is just ordering grab food every morning or today what I did was get some fruit from the grocery store some yogurt and then there's a great coffee shop near the hotel where I got a cappuccino and a croissant so my breakfast this morning more or less came to about for US Dollars which is reasonable food is actually the thing that I've noticed the biggest price increase here in Bangkok if you are going to the more mid-range kind of places it's definitely like 30 to 40 percent more expensive than the prices that I was seeing in Chiang Mai so just wanted to make a note on that but to continue on with our day we are in one of my favorite places in the whole city that I just discovered on this trip because it opened just in the last couple of years this is benjakiti Park everybody always talks about lumpini Park which is like the downtown main Park in the city but in my opinion this park is phenomenal foreign [Music] [Applause] excuse me [Music] so now I am heading towards sukum vit uh to go to one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the area for lunch but quickly I just wanted to say how safe like you know understandably safe in a big city I feel here in Bangkok just yesterday I went out with some friends for dinner and you know we ended up going late and I walked you know 30 40 minutes home by myself at like you know 11 p.m almost midnight but just for a big city I feel like Bangkok does a very good job on the safety Factor especially for tourists foreign I don't think many people know about this place because it's kind of off the main road but I would highly recommend checking it out because they have a lot of Thai local craft beer which is really cool and then the options they have for food are absolutely delicious reasonably priced and it's actually a pretty extensive menu look at this work of art guys I love pad Girl Crown it's basically basil chicken but you can get it with like beef pork even tofu sometimes basically rice with the minced meat fried egg on top and you can mix it all together so this is my bill guys it came to 2 30 as the base which is I think more or less like six US Dollars something like that but then they also put in like a service charge and um taxed so all together it comes to 271 I'm probably just gonna leave 300 Baht which comes to about nine US dollars so after a lovely lunch I am going to heading towards sukumvit I have a couple of errands I have to do in the area and then I am going to get on the BTS and go all the way out to Chinatown because I am meeting my friends at a really cool Sky Bar [Music] s foreign [Music] baby we're meant to be [Music] seems [Music] it wasn't supposed to end like this from going down all right I am at Siam station and I just got a BTS ticket I am going to go to Saint Louis station it's not that far away I think it's like four or five stops uh but my ticket uh costs 30 Baht which is approximately one US dollar [Music] s changing [Applause] oh you know it's not easy [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] laid my eyes on you [Applause] [Music] you make it easier [Music] never living [Music] foreign [Music] guys I am at the Yao Rooftop Bar here at the Marriott Hotel what a spectacular view that we have going on here they just opened so nobody else is here yet but I am waiting on my friend Taw and her boyfriend Hiroki because ta is actually from Bangkok and has been uh working here for a while even though she's a travel YouTuber too I'll link her channel uh down below we're gonna grab some drinks here and then we are going to head to Chinatown for the night market as our dinner oh hello [Music] this is time hello how are you good to see you you guys this view though oh my gosh oh my gosh look at this that's not making reservation though yeah I don't know if it's actually legit but like every table has like reservation reservation so I don't know if there is no maybe uh I said that my friend is waiting on the second level yeah and then the staff said oh she made the solution oh so probably when you make reservation you can come up you get the better seats okay good okay these cocktails are incredible look at this okay heroki what did you get what's the name of yours red something Lantern wasn't it Red Lantern Breeze from the East I got my time my tie makes sense all right guys cheers to a fabulous evening in Bangkok Hey listen up I've tried to tell you this a hundred times know if you never fall you don't change [Music] yeah we got round two here I got a pina colada because that is like my favorite cocktail ever and Todd what did you get whiskey sour classy first round you still enjoying Red Lantern yes Hiroki is the designated Walker to make sure that we get to Chinatown Night Market okay he's gonna look after us ladies exactly exactly he's the cameraman as well tonight all right guys so here is the bill total for the night I did have two cocktails uh so it came to 807 42 bot so I think that's about 30 US Dollars I'll put the exact total in here but I feel like that's fairly reasonable for a really nice Sky Bar [Music] thank you foreign guys we just made it to Chinatown and things are bustling to say the least I guess it's not an official Night Market that they have here but as you can see there's a whole bunch of different like Hawker stands with food and stuff so whatever kind of delicious food you want they probably have it here [Music] oh what is this one this what is it coconut pancake okay we have to try it so for only 60 Baht which is like two and a half dollars we have these coconut pancakes tall what what makes them purple why is the inside purple butterfly what happened oh no sorry oh tarot tarot okay all right let's try this are super soft oh that's yummy which is really good very sticky very sticky and warm and fresh like she must have just made these really good [Music] this place looks really good they got lots of seafood fresh vegetables they're grilling everything up and there's also a place to sit over there foreign guys we got three of our four dishes we think this is squid we ordered fried tempura squid right okay so yeah this is the squid and then we got fried morning glory and then vegetable fried rice our main has arrived and it is a very big fish I think it was tilapia right uh I don't know how this food is in English I think it was tilapia I think I saw tilapia on the menu but yeah it is a literal whole fish with all kinds of nuts and spices on the top so excited to dig in foreign [Music] all right last but not least we are going to get marshmallow ice cream yeah what do you guys think like obviously any of these are the safe bets but this would be like the weird one to get right durian you don't like the real I don't mind it yeah okay yeah uh one Dorian please yeah thank you oh my gosh torching the marshmallows it's something that I didn't even know existed a Dorian marshmallow ice cream bite cheers let's give it a go I will say you can definitely taste the durian obviously it's durian ice cream you guys know that I'm not you know the biggest fan of durian but I just feel like when I'm in Asia I may as well try it because it's hard to find in North America and also super expensive but really good like it does have this shell of marshmallow around it and then it's like frozen ice cream on the inside very unique tall what are we looking at here uh I want you guys to try sweet dumplings I gotta get sweet dumplings and milk in milk it's like a glutinous rice yeah with milk nice that sounds really good it's supposed to be coconut milk I'm not sure okay this is something I have definitely never tried is that ginkgo berry is that what that is what called goji berry oh yeah these but these ones that's Ginkgo right the the yellow one for your brand Ginkgo yeah yeah yeah those ones yeah yeah and this one is The Dumpling fabulous foreign that was a very happy amazing oh my gosh all right a hundred percent please oh please yeah whatever attention very good really good right very good such a weird flavor though black sesame like that like that before and the um because I think the adventures channel in the description definitely check her out I'm gonna head home and I'm gonna tell you guys just how much money I spent but we've got so much good stuff today like we got amazing food we saw the city we got the best view I think we did good I mean I love the Sky Bar the Sky Bar was like incredible but I love Chinatown too like there's just so many good places it's enjoyed it um [Music] foreign [Music] friends I am back home for the tally let's see how much money I spent today I did already convert everything from bot to rounding up to the closest US dollar so actually let's just let's just add in US dollars so 30 was my hotel room for the day then breakfast was four dollars then we had lunch for nine had a coffee which was three the brt to the Sky Bar was a dollar the Sky Bar was technically one of the biggest expenses at 25 and then my half of the taxi was three the coconut cake we got in Chinatown was two and then dinner was eleven the very strange durian pop was 250 I don't know why I actually did 250 but anyways we'll put two 50 in there and then last but not least I got a grab bike to get home so that was a I rounded up and gave him an extra tip uh to three dollars so total spenditure for the day is 93 US Dollars and 50 cents so that is what I spent in a day guys even though that's definitely on the higher end of what I usually spend I think a more average day for me would probably be around the 70 dollar mark it basically is because we went to the Sky Bar and you know it was 25 US dollars for the two cocktails that's probably not something I would do on an average day even though today was more than I would usually spend I still feel like I got to see and do so much you know I get to have a room all to myself obviously if you're splitting your accommodation you know that helps bring down the cost but all in all I had a really fantastic day it was so much fun to see all the different places in Bangkok it's definitely one of my favorite cities so I hope you guys enjoyed the video let me know your thoughts in the comments and as always I'm sending you so much love hope you're having a fantastic day and keep being your own kind of beautiful bye guys foreign [Music]
