I love singing songs I love doing impressions, the, Duke would say is I'd like to circle my wagons, around this place his big band act has lost steam in Vegas but, not the rest of the world according, to his wife Leslie there's, a big demand for what Rick does especially. In Mexico, so, they're moving their home base to the Cancun, Playa del Carmen area. Rick's. Looking for a property with as much personality, as he has hey, I feel like I'm on a grill with a pillow but the acoustics, are great I'm, not sure if Rick's taking this fully seriously, Leslie's, gotta have the beach this, is why I left Las Vegas, I'm such a beach girl hoody wouldn't be near the beach for it we have to breach in Las Vegas she's just no water. Gonna do it I trust, my wife and, so, we're ready to go and take that leap. Mortimer, Ellis is a sleepy, little fishing, village but it does have a lot to offer it's, wonderful, food it's beautiful, ocean and the. Wonderful warm and welcoming people from what I've gathered rick is quite the character, they're a fun couple and I'm really looking forward to meeting them our, perfect, house tom would be a 3-bedroom.

Definitely want some sort of a view a pool, is really important, to us that's, a must I do a lot of international, traveling, Tom and I'd like to be close to the airport so that's important, to me I don't wanna be stuck in traffic the, biggest thing for me is the beach we don't have to be right on the beach but close by that's, the biggest thing for me okay, what was your budget again we'd like to spend about, $240,000. U.s. okay, this real estate market, is one. Of the hottest if not the hottest market in all of Mexico could, you guys see yourself staying, in this little town for an extended, period most. Definitely, yeah I like it Rick, likes it's location, right, between two big tourist, hubs Cancun. And Playa, del Carmen since. Each have lots of clubs where he can perform, but. Just start Tom heads for a house he thinks Leslie, will like but. It's not great on airport access for, Rick we're, just outside of, Playa del Carmen I call, this the Mexican, modern, house, it's, a three-bedroom. Two-bath. Unit brand-new. Construction priced, at, $225,000. It does, come furnished but that's an extra, $15,000. Yeah you want tires with that car I understand, so we do the math it's about 240, so it's in our budget it has the pool we, have beach access that's about half a kilometer away how, far are we from the airport it's about a 40-minute drive from here oh well. Come. On in. What. Do you think I love, it I love the two-tone wall with the stone I do like the furniture quite a bit the, only thing is it's a little small, in here as you can see we have an open living concept. The kitchen opens to the dining, and the living area, it's nice but, it's a little cold you know I like more of a Mexican Flair, a little warm, feeling. And I'm not getting that right now I feel, like I'm on a grill with a pillow and it's pinching, me yeah, just flipped me over and make me a medium-rare. I like the sofa it's deep it's pretty comfortable yeah, Leslie it sounds like you like this a little bit more than Rick I think so I do here. We have the kitchen great granite countertops, stainless. Steel appliances throughout. A six-burner, gas stove. A, full-size refrigerator so. Who's the cook in the family Rick, yes can you see yourself over, this stove cooking dinner for Leslie yeah I like the six burner stove, it's nice yeah. Absolutely, I could, make a nice dinner anyway give me give me give me two pieces of wood I'll make dinner, remember. This is a two bathroom, unit the first bath is over on the left and, then, on the right side we have both bedrooms bedroom, one and it's really cute yeah it's okay into the master I do like, the furnishings, in here it's very nice but I have to say it's a little too small it's a little, confining this is just too clinical for me I need, a little bit of you know you don't mean a couple, of throw pillows in this place maybe a lava lamp something, you know no.
This Is a bigger space I do like this I don't know if this is enough space for actually Rick has more clothes than I do believe it or not you got unis you have shoes well we both got shoes we do a lot of walking. This. Is, not gonna work for us I think it's a little too small in here for us yeah, but the acoustics, are great I'm, not sure if Rick's taking this fully seriously, okay guys last but not least is a nice private little Terrace, right off the kitchen, hmm, what do you think it's, a little small but it's quaint, fake. She's. Not my style, I do like that it's turnkey that's. It's well for me but I think the space is a little too confined. I like the fact that it is on budget but I want to put my own stamp on it I'm really looking for something with some Mexican, Flair on, a scale of one to ten I rate, this three and I rate this about, a seven wait, a seven why is seven, I mean come on it's everything was small and, the far from the airport, and it, was just clinical I, mean seven sounds like you'd move in tomorrow I think Leslie may, be sold on this property, it takes a lot of her boxes, and she seemed really excited maybe, you can show us something that's maybe 10. 15 minutes away from the airport that might be better I'd like something with an ocean view I love the beach I'd love to see that from my window. Excellent, living at the beach that's, why we're here that's, a big factor for me as, you can see it's an up-and-coming neighborhood still, under construction, this is one of the completed homes I do like all the greenery though this is really pretty it is it's very lush. Take. A look at this. Isn't. That magnificent. That is 20-foot, ceilings, two very, tall open, living concept. Huh this, is really nice this is my taste I love the wood the mix could you see yourself throwing, your feet up on the couch Rick I see watching the Yankees game I mean jumping up there, watching. The game honey. Get up this isn't our house come on hey, you know you got to kick the tires before you buy the call right look, at this great kitchen, well he's concrete counter these are poured concrete countertops. Oh I like it I like the color now as you guys can see we've got a six-burner gas stove we have all appliances, this place is truly turnkey. We're, looking for and take a look at this light wow are, those have some bulbs those are inside, hand blown glass and, that is locally, sourced driftwood, Rick, does this hit the mark for Mexican Flair absolutely. Tom really a nailed it right on the head there is quite a bit of mix of Mexican and modern in here take. A look at these Mexican, tiles on each stair is that talavera that, is telev era tile from Guadalajara, that's gorgeous that's beautiful like there's a bunch of different patterns in stained concrete I see absolutely. Now, we've got one bedroom on this level oh. This. Is really cute this is the second bed with, its own ensuite bath I like the colors pretty. Actually from a design standpoint this, actually, is on point. For me I like, the furnishings, more steps though huh well, misters Tom, take.
A Look at the size of this master this is huge this third floor is all about large spaces, we could put an office here or. A sitting area that's, true I like that I understand, that Leslie is drawn to the beach and that's really the reason why she came to the Caribbean but. I'm gonna try to talk her into this and, take, a look at this master, bath this, is a really, big tub where's the shower well. It just has a tub but it does have a rain showerhead and we could climb upstairs you got to go down there and you and what what is that I wish I could take that tub and blow it out well, we can't have perfection but let's take a look at this huge master closet, Wow. Huge. What. Is this custom built that. Is custom, built Rick is there enough room in this closet for your tuxedos, absolutely. Tom I guess it kind of makes up for the Shou of being so inconvenient, it's not a perfect, house but. It's it's it's pretty close look. At this absolutely fantastic pool, area is that what they call a plunge pool that, is a plunge pool you, have an outdoor shower a great little sitting area what, do you think you know there's some things I like and there's some things I really don't like the, negatives, are I don't like that big tub and there's, a lot of stairs in this house the positives, it's turnkey and I really love the furniture here Rick. What's your impression my. Impression, mr. is the, Duke would say is I'd like to circle my wagons, around this place and make, some grub in the old kitchen bite. The whole tribe that, means he really likes it I like the open, floor plan I like. The fact that it's private, and it's quiet it's just a beautifully laid out house but, I really want to see something by the beach what would it would be near the beach for we had the beach in Las Vegas it's just no water. Big tourist, destinations, with lots of clubs where he can work I really, love this downtown, area everything's so close by you can walk everywhere ride your bikes that's what I really want to live at the beach here I hear you it's. Also close, to the Cancun, Airport so, he can easily get to his gigs all over the world. Rick. Wasn't a fan of the house down by Playa del Carmen too. Small too, far from the airport and too, cold no, I like more of a Mexican Flair a little warm, feeling. But the house in Puerto Morelos was, music, to his ears I, see myself throwing. Myself on the couch. It's. Not a perfect, house but, it's pretty close I don't see the beach anywhere though living at the beach that's, why we're here I want the beach. Where's. The beach Rick, it's, near the water yeah. So. Near the water they go very. Near the, old saying location, location, location is. Very true in this case you're less than a two minute walk to the beach really I'd hate to see him walk away from this opportunity, Rick and Leslie were in downtown puerto, morelos okay.
At, The caribbean, candy cane it's like a big giant swirl yeah it makes me want to open a barber shop town that's. A two-bed, two-bath condo with. An ocean view that's what I'm talking about and, it's under budget at 235, that's right in our budget and if that's not enough right around the corner there's a pool let's. Look at the view you know what getting sand down my back is not my priority here, in Mexico, let's. Take a look at this master suite I could. Fall asleep to that view you, could crack the door you could fall asleep to the sound of the waves this. Room is a good space it's a nice size uh-huh, right behind you is the ensuite bath you want to take a look at that got the little fishes in the bowl there that's it's. Good size actually little, TLC I think it'd be great do you think this could possibly work it's a possibility, I mean with that million-dollar, view you can't beat it this. Is really pretty actually I like the palapa nice little quiet place to have a drink or entertain uh-huh, yes this is nice here's the pool it's, a good size pool yeah Rick, you wanted something to put your stamp on do you think this could do it absolutely, Tommy I like I said I'd knock out the wall for. Like forever, love the 20-foot, ceilings, the tub was massive, but I feel like I need a stepladder to get in that thing the, Caribbean candy cane now that I love which. 235,000. And it's, like a million dollar view I absolutely love, that view but, it's a little outdated for my taste and the appliances, really. Old-looking yeah, it does need a little TLC. What. Are we gonna do, I would. Probably, eliminate. The. Clinical. Mexican. Modern I am. Somewhat, in agreement with you because I really, want the beach yeah and it is too far from the airport I. Know. Which one you're leading you know I removed, here yeah you want the beach I want the beach that, was a hat come of you sure, why million-dollar, view but it, needs a lot of work though it needs a lot of I know it's under budget but it's only five thousand under budget and you need a lot more to put into it but think what it would look like with our own furniture, in there yeah but it's, a lot of work it, needs a lot of TLC so, I think it really comes down to location. Both. Properties are pretty close to the airport equal distance yeah but it's do, we want to be in the, jungle a little, ways from the water or do we want to be right on the water that's our biggest decision, I know. What you want is you do want the beach and you know I really do want to beat ya but I'm willing to compromise really, with, your busy schedule, you're gonna be booked a lot do, we really have the time and energy for the Caribbean candy cane it's gonna take a lot of work the. In maybe, six resorts, up and down from Playa del Carmen to, Puerto, Morelos and Cancun, I've done, special, events, with a big band orchestra and, it, is well worth the trip.
