Giving Money To People In Need | Central Vietnam
all right y'all today's video is because of you y'all know a while back i made a video where i ate a a kamen young type of lunch yes yes that video now being here in hoi an and talking to people and seeing not only how much coveted and not having tourism here has hurt the people but listening to the locals and hearing how many times they had floods and how high just it just broke my heart so that's why today we're gonna do our donation video we're gonna go through this morning through the market and try to find some people then come back later tonight as well like i said it is raining i'm not gonna let that bring our mood down at all because i'm gonna try to donate a total of a thousand dollars today and do whatever it takes to get there a little bit of a different video y'all but i think it's going to be fun y'all know what's next let's get it started so we found bat here she's selling bananas right here so i just look delicious i want to i want to get some bananas to start the morning off healthy yeah come on guys yeah oh yeah i got some beautiful bananas here so she's been selling since 1983 she's very hard of hearing i don't know i said that's what this is about give it away and i'm getting things in return these are too green for me though so i got to wait a couple days oh my goodness [Music] come on okay lots of bananas this morning start off got a good amount donated but let's see if we can find something else we can buy it hey why is it gonna be such a rainy day on a such a happy day you know helping so many people out it's gonna be raining on me lady here she's super local she can't understand me she barely can understand my girlfriend but she has her vegetables what she's selling here that she picks all at home brings them to the market doesn't remember how long she's been selling or anything so bad thing [Music] oh [Applause] the community found out what i was doing they said i have to buy all the rail and take it or she'll be here until nine o'clock at night it's it's nine o'clock in the morning i better get ready to cook i figured out why it's raining now the fact that i get to send her home early on a rainy day she doesn't have to stay here for 12 hours it's a good thing now i really wanted to help out food vendors here as well so this is a no-brainer for me i came to this lady yesterday found her just walking around talked to her lovely lady if you did watch the video yesterday you're about to meet her again if not well you're about to meet her for the first time love this lady super nice super friendly even with people here just not trying to buy her product but take pictures she's still friendly to them so she was a no-brainer for today i knew i was coming back here all right i think she just made fun of my vietnamese but i'm cool with it i'm not even a corn jet guy but hers i'll get down with it just as good as yesterday oh i'm sending home okay now [Music] [Music] okay we're back over here at the market i kind of donated everything i thought about i wanted to focus on food vendors but i kind of saw somebody i just feel like really needs it so i'm going to give that a little extra this morning oh [Music] so i got tipped off by another lady for her and that's kind of how i saw her she actually sells i don't know what it is it looks like the metal leaf it's something like the old people chew i don't know what it is i don't know if it's uh i have zero i have zero ideas what it is okay we had another lady here but i'm out of money i got just a little bit left in my wallet we'll see what i got oh i got it [Music] just saw the lady walking around and just gave her everything almost everything i had in my wallet uh she needs a lot more than i do they're helping her get it situated so she can get home i don't know her story though as you can see she barely can stand up for long periods of time like y'all should like take everything in my wallet like at the end of the day like i can go to atm i got a place to sleep now i got the mixed meal these people don't know like yeah i wanted to donate only 500 this morning we i don't know how much i donated because i don't i don't care this isn't about the money this is about helping people if it brings this community together which is community market is strong they're all together bringing people to me show me people who really need it and they're not taking anything from it they're helping her secure money making sure she's going to get home like beautiful community here in vietnam in hawaii yeah but i'm literally out of money now so i got to go to atm i'm going to rest up we're going to come back tonight because there's a lot of people at the night market as well that uh that i want to help out so we will catch y'all back when it gets dark oh y'all it is turned into a gorgeous day it's afternoon the sun's setting and we are walking into the little night market area and so earlier besides just going to the atm i was thinking i want to help more people i didn't realize i mean i knew there was a lot of people to help i didn't realize the money was going to go that fast so i'll be donating around 1 million per person so i can try to try to get more people if we have some left over at the end i'll just swing back by and get more money back way home found you [Music] dang they got me right off the bat that lady was so friendly i gave her two million let's try it out see if there's let's see if it was worth it so we got actually her that noon here sweet caramelized charred good grilled up pork worth every penny or i should say again yeah yeah yeah [Music] come on so i passed this lady in the morning seller i didn't i didn't get to donate her this morning but she's still selling y'all she says she on average sells for 10 hours every day so i'm gonna say i'm gonna buy everything she has and then you know give her a little extra oh yeah so uh daniel okay yeah come on [Music] y'all i was not thinking now i gotta carry all this i got those in my backpack but the good news is now it's turning dark so we got something a little different i know instead of want to specialize on food vendors and today maybe a little bit older individual but about to do a little something special here that you can do in hoi an okay all right y'all so this part may get a little hectic [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] man seeing that last lady y'all i don't know that's what it's all about you know seeing her and seeing how much that that means to her like i don't know i just i'm i can't believe i'm in a position to be able to do something like this and it it feels so good i'm glad i get to bring y'all with me okay so what you do is you go and buy i guess what are they called like little boxes i really don't know what to call them you get candles in them you light them and you can let them in the water as you take a boat we have two boats which we want to ride on today so they both have customers right now we're going to wait on them we're going to get on them yeah yeah canada okay so i don't have time to take that one too because there's like three other boats but i don't know it's just cove the time and i want to help out as many people as i can i wish i'd give her more um her and her friend working together so just tell them good luck and we got a boat you i really hope the boat doesn't catch fire then i just it's like a terrible person so this is called what what you do is you light them and you put them in the water and if you have lots of tourists and lots of people buying them it looks beautiful but unfortunately because of coved you just don't have that you have these people hurting because they're not making money it doesn't look as beautiful and so that's why it sucks this country won against covert we we won and it still hurts so many people this much that's why i'm more than happy to be here right now doing this all right so they're all lit so now we can actually put them into the water the start closest to us or which ones are about to catch the boat on fire uh-oh and don't tip the boat when doing this not only was it coba time last year but in hoi an multiple times last year they had flooding up to the second level of these homes now i know the city you know it's probably prepped for floods but how can you really truly ever prep for that much flooding that's why it just ultimately hit me that this was the place i wanted to do one of my donation videos at all right so got our little boat ride and i hope you enjoyed you know the video is so different there was food there was donations there was actually like hoi an tradition getting on the boat and everything but uh i plan to end the video right now but i got some other news so it's not gonna end i'll explain in just a second okay sorry for that transition i gotta keep doing that anyway so two things real quick hey i just had a bun me that was like amazing i didn't get to film it i'm so sorry but i got a picture of it right here and i'll put the location you gotta go try it i hate to say this but it's so much better than the one i filmed the other day okay second part so i got some more information about one of the ladies i donated to from my girlfriend a little bit later and i couldn't stop thinking about it she she has a husband who had an accident and has had some brain trouble and is not able to work so she's been doing everything by herself selling the fruit for 10 hours per day and she just almost cried when i gave her the donation so i just couldn't stop thinking about last night so i'm back here this morning i want to find her and i'll just give her a little bit more [Music] [Music] it hurts so bad cannot find the lady and we talked to a security guard and because it turned into the weekend today she can't sit here and sell so she's gonna be here walking around i don't think we're gonna be able to find her so i'm just i don't know i just want to give it away like i had i had two million playing for her gave a million to uh bad to get some tangerines or whatever these are i don't even i don't even know so i got another million find somebody else help them out okay so walked around for about 30 minutes sat around for about 45 just did not find her but i want to look at the bright side you know it's a good two days donated a lot of money hope you enjoyed this type of video i guess the main thing like it hurts so much to see so many people hurt so if you do come to vietnam like keep it in your mind like people always love vietnam or they say they love living here because like oh it's a cheap country it's a cheap country it's a cheap country yeah but there's so much more why not why not give back then don't just take advantage of being on being cheap but appreciate vietnam for its people it's food it's culture and give back and help these people are so nice and so generous with so little that's why i love making these videos in vietnam because they're just so so thankful for every little bit you do give it doesn't even have to be the amounts that i did it say like a bowl of news was 40 give 50 just a little something helps anyways
