First time in Sabah...So beautiful, it made me cry...
touchdown borneo guys i'm doing my best to act like a regular human being but i'm so excited i can't even be normal right now we are just getting off the plane and just starting our two-week itinerary hosted by sabah tourism so the tourism department of sava who obviously knows all the best spots and all the best places to go will be hosting us for the next two weeks and taking us to the best and most beautiful scenery history culinary uh highly anticipated events including the kamatan festival thank you bye bye which is something similar to thanksgiving in canada so the orang ashley people who are like the natives here on sabah have a kamatan festival which is the harvest festival we're going to be up close and personal with the tourism department and the i can't even be a human so for the next hour as we get out of this airport i'm gonna try to blend in amongst the uh normal people here because honestly we got up at four o'clock in this morning to take an uber towards klia airport and the whole time i've been totally massively pumped i've been dancing i've been acting silly i've been making just textbook bad jokes that only i can make and uh totally excited for this really cannot wait so without further ado we're gonna go to lunch today and then we're going to go to a glamping spot which is like a really fancy camping spot to rest and then tomorrow will be pure action 14 days of non-stop the best that saba has to offer can't even be a human right now super duper excited let's go over there let's go over there let's go all around everywhere let's go hey dunkin excited okay let's go okay okay thank you too heavy right thank you okay guys first off we're trying to get some special socks that will block leeches looking for leech stalks because tomorrow we're going hiking so we just did a quick drive through uh kota kenabalu and it's amazingly green out there pure trees and flowers hello all right can i buy leech socks yeah oh they're there thank you it sucks it sucks it sucks in here this one no oh this one oh it's like a legging oh it's like this big okay this is is it only one size or many one size okay two two liter stock two pair please all right a hundred ringgits down the tubes because we got our leech socks now we will also want to get some campoon adidas village these are called village adidas they're plastic shoes that are really good for hiking because when they get wet they just dry out and you keep walking not absorbent but could not find them here so the journey continues i gotta say this man i'm so excited to be here even just this basic cityscape i think whoa what an amazing place amazing right just a regular city but i love it so far so much all right it's different than kl it's not like rush it's so much more chill and tons of nature all around yeah flowers and trees and everything amazing oh i'm so excited okay the journey continues here on our first day in samba all right stop number two is a restaurant up here on top of the road hello thank you all right i am currently eating summer butcher which you guys know is not my favorite but i tell you what in saba the samo blend tastes like orange do you taste it citrus or something like that citrus bloodshed actually not bad as well as which is corn soup no pumpkin pumpkin soup very nice and of course i'm pouring in salted egg and coffee because we got a hurry this morning so far so good in check it out guys this is satay so the chicken is almost all like ground chicken all in one piece and instead of a wood stick it's lemongrass totally unique looking uh satay i actually asked try it i said what is this is it satay i said oh yeah really no peanut sauce oh it's there's that cheetah sauce oh chili sauce yeah sauce not peanut sauce chili sauce on a lemongrass that day very interesting oh my gosh big that's good very lemongrass i bit too hard and i bit the lemongrass stem berry lemongrass very nice though kind of different than regular satiric quite a bit different than right i guess it's ground chicken and it's quite thin on the outside and mostly uh herbs and lemongrass flavor and then the chili sauce instead of peanut sauce pretty good i love all the fresh veggies normally we don't get it in mainland malaysia but here look at all the fresh veggies and i love this i almost finished young mango with anchovies it's so good if steve doesn't want his go ahead in case i can donate my young mango and anchovy shower and actually the fresh veggies are salad and the salad dressing is the sambal bacon that's very citrusy that's right i've never had a sambal bletchen salad before and you like trouble bloodjam first time i like someone legend the bloodshed flavor is still quite strong for me but it's citrus kind of redeeming it and salty nice lunch no very nice all right let's finish up and get going okay guys amazing discovery so in malaysia peninsular means can and then lies as an add-on in peninsula but in uh in sabah it says you say that to the villagers and we love it okay okay in malaysia they say la because the first time i heard la i thought it was the silliest thing ever but in canada we say hey yeah so same thing we say instead of and it's i realize it's the exact same thing but i thought i heard la said la is silly but a makes sense but lie silly but then i realized the same thing this is going to be a good two weeks let's go all right first impressions of sava food you will gain a little bit with the blood chain the bloodstream was very fresh some of watching with the lemon inside very good but you will lose a little bit for the second what the satay was good i will say it's good but original difference though different styles that they will take some getting used to but now we're going to uh we're going to jalan jalenba and see uh the next will be the glamping spot hey puppy okay guys one more pit stop before we start climbing up the mountain we have found some roadside a little bit rainy got the dogs going around uh adidas campoon so kampung means village adidas they're probably not actually adidas brand the joke is adidas and they are plastic or just kind of like uh rubber and great for hiking because they've got almost like cleats on the bottom like rubber cleats so people are gonna suck oh my gosh it's what the socks were a hundred ringgits the shoes are eight rings a pair wow can i see yeah they're just like almost like a croc uh a croc cleats and inside this ivana will wear the socks the big socks is on top what size in in this numbers i don't know i'll check my shoes and my numbers i'm nine and a half yeah these numbers i might be uh oh it's all worn off you can try it okay we'll try it on maybe actually i like the white one too stylish yeah the same thing one size figure how's it going together there's no well factors there's laces there oh my gosh it smells like plastic plastic okay rare one no my feet much bigger so comfy it looks so small for you high shoes everywhere really it looks like it's too small they're so comfy they're a bit small i'm poking here but they're like they're like soft blasters maybe once that's bigger it's cushioned inside oh yeah really dude adidas campoon it's good the size is good i think so okay is it okay for you or is it uncomfortable i mean for eight bring it for ten ringgits yeah through the white ones i think we got rip off or not songs yeah this is good this is life okay so good no it's raining pretty hard out so so we're getting our adidas campaign ready for the hike hike to glamping trouble is the the holes and the laces the eye holes sealed full of white industrial paint yes please okay a little bit of work get the adidas campoon ready it works it works perfectly this is the exact tool i need look at this it's really coming down right there but this is uh life in the tropics so you have to wait for tomorrow for the drone shots oh yeah maybe we'll give you a sneak peek right yeah unless it's own gear all right the rain just picked up a notch it is coming down and cats and dogs coming down in buckets right now first day of borneo good thing i'm wearing a sun hat in case the weather changes you never know in borneo always keep your sun hat handy without exaggeration i'm being totally sincere these are the greatest hiking shoes i've ever purchased and they cost two american dollars this is the best it might be the best two american dollars i've ever spent in my life because my feet are comfy and cozy and no slippage oh my gosh yo it is it is raining out here in the campoon let's go let's go here we go oh a little dry spot here a shelter in the rain yo guys the accommodation is actually so nice that they booked for us it's actually super cool and i think you have to stay tuned to shoes it's a nice room stick so we got a kitchen right here and our uh welcome door and right here is our room it's actually super nice oh and we got balcony right there right now too bad it's raining so we cannot see the view but in the morning hopefully we can see it here here there's a bed there up there a bed here and a bed there super excited to be here even though it's raining it's all good because we are in sabah okay so we've got a few hours of chilling time which case we'll try to uh evaporate our clothes thaw out my bag is completely wet we gotta i gotta i gotta yeah i gotta save my clothes in there oh we gotta know the power over there electricity oh yeah water yo this room is actually so nice oh we got some games monopoly wow so stay tuned for tomorrow's video we'll sit down issue is the fan runs on solar panels which as you can imagine is gonna last about six minutes but in the end the best i could do i can't believe mount kinabalu is right in front of us we got the best view right here i can't even see like waterfalls i don't know if you can see it from my camera but i can see waterfalls i don't know how many maybe four of them i see many uh rainbow happening rainbow happening this is so magical so much cool and love the houses all along the ridgeline man imagine living there the sky opens up just in time for sunset come on come on it's right on this is a golden hour you know amazing something special yeah look at a village right below us another village right there and this mountain is just so amazing something about being near the mountains is just great and i will say this this is just this taste of what's to come this is our first day it was raining non-stop for like i don't know how many hours and then the sky opens up just for sunset and rainbow and mountain perfect it's magic look at the dome that we're staying in it's so beautiful at the sunset let's be clear six stars and wow steve oh my gosh really special first day rainbow was jumping off the page right now what this is unreal oh my god super magical oh someone's blowing a whistle maybe it's dinner time it's it's a whistle not the bugs what kind of bugs i don't know dinner dinner whistle baby oh i love this sound i'm so happy i'm just dancing all day oh my god yeah the night has fallen time for dinner time for dinner finally after much uh waiting we're going to see flo all right all right check it out guys dinner has arrived so a bit of a misunderstanding i thought we were going out for dinner but you guys know when i get excited my ears stop working so i probably just made that up in my head but we've got what looks like a whole bunch of food appears to be wow red rice red rice supposed to be healthy smells good we've got some almost like chinese food over there it looks like a veggie this is a pot full of coffee which is can't go wrong with fried chicken more rice and yes sort of like chinese pasta and pineapple there's a pineapple plantation in this area yeah i think this would be local pineapple which would be pretty nice and love the fact we are editing videos it's like a luxury uh accommodation here right in front i'm drying my clothes we're still doing our uh you know drying everything out but it's like working being productive right in front of mount kano kinabalu in uh sabah so absolutely loving it big shout out to our tour guides bernadette was amazing uh walter big thank you to sabah tourism walter just came and delivered the food uh flo will be taken over tomorrow you guys will meet flo what a great day super great introduction to sabah this is the perfect place for our first night so good view of mount kinabalu just in front of us i cannot wait to see the sunrise tomorrow hopefully it won't rain hopefully it won't rain but during sunset it was like amazing beautiful one of the most beautiful sight i've ever seen it's really really great i had i had borneo built up in my head i had super high expectations and so far meeting expectations right sometimes i get so excited and then it's only okay and that's my own fault but this was uh exceeded my expectation i didn't have any expectation to be honest i thought a lot of people told us to go to uh sabah and see mount kinabalu and i was like oh yeah it's just another mountain but oh my god special mountain ivana it's a special mountain actually in the native uh traditional religion the animistic uh religion and a missed religion uh kenablu is like sacred yeah so it's a special mountain yeah special it's just the energies like and the double rainbows don't know you guys oh my gosh ivana was genuinely freaking out about the double rainbow so let's eat we'll finish our dinner here maybe we'll play another game of monopoly if ivana wants revenge because grand champion tomorrow will have another adventure let's see where tomorrow brings out boom let's go thank you guys thank you later
