but yeah I'm tired I want to go home [Music] good morning and welcome back to the channel I'm just leaving the hotel Don't think I've left anything I'm going to be making my way up to the b500 uh part of which is actually showing as closed so I'm just going to go outside and park up get a signal and work out which is the best route to get to Baden Baden From Baden Baden I'm going to... From Baden Baden I'm just going to make my way towards the Europoort in a couple of days..and get a ferry home so we'll speak in a bit once I've got everything plugged in into the SatNav and have a look to the routes and we'll speak soon okay welcome back, so yes I'm in the Swiss town of Barden and I'm heading to Barden Baden in Germany Part of the b500 is actually closed from what I can see so I'm going to make my way up the initial start of the b500 to Freudenstadt and then from there I might have to change my plan to get to Baden Baden last night's decision was stay in a hotel because it just made more sense didn't fancy camping in the heavy rain I just want to get through everything and have a dry night give things chance to dry out and after that yeah I think I'm 2 days maybe 3 days away from the ferry port ticket prices I've had a quick look and they seem to be more expensive on Monday than they are on a Saturday or Sunday for some reason so if I can make either the Saturday or the Sunday Ferry back to Hull from Rotterdam then that'll be the goal to today is Thursday I'm not far off the German border now looking at the weather over there it looks like I might be passing through some more rain let's hope it not as heavy as it was coming out of Austria into Italy and out of the Dolomites into Switzerland because that was just horrendous yeah there's a few drops of rain already appearing on the visor so there is patches of blue sky sunshine behind me Road Works ahead as usual catch up with in a bit just crossing the river now which is the border between Switzerland and Germany and it's raining as well well I've got in front of the wagon which is good so onwards so I think this is the start of the b500 sign over there yeah B500 starting to climb now now still a little bit of rain but it's more drizzle than anything else but it's nice to actually get out on an open road going up into the clouds again yeah it's getting a bit Misty again hopefully it'll clear up when uh I come out the other side the fog lights might need to have come on in a minute the views are spectacular I've been told okay it's getting a bit too uh murky now so fog lights are on and I will turn you off and then hopefully when there's something nicer to see switch you back on again literally 200m down the road I break through the cloud fog lights don't need to be on back to that that mist over there Yeah my SatNav's starting to steam up a bit it's been out in the open too long definitely needs to dry out it's still legible oh look at that Sunshine perfect Lovely Day I think the downside of the b500 as well is although this section is 100 km an hour if you get uh okay it was 100 km an hour uh if you get a wagon like this it's holding up traffic I've been filtering through the cars that have been stacked up behind it but there isn't a good opportunity to just get past because is nice and twisty which is the whole point of the b500 let's stay on the 500 yeah haven't made my mind up yet as to whether I'm going to be camping tonight or stay in a hotel there's a cold spell that's coming across Europe I saw on the news this morning that Jungfraujoch is down to - 9° and had heavy snowfall yeah the night time temperatures have certainly been dropping and I've certainly noticed them so whether I'll be camping or not I don't know I have a two season sleeping bag with me at the moment and yeah it's rated comfortable down to 4° even at about 8° 9° at night I'm literally scrambling for the fleece and the thermal layers so yeah I'll decide later on in the route as to what the options are it's got a little bit overcast again I know I'm expecting to pass through another rain shower but depends on how fast I get through the German Countryside and where the weather system comes across and I managed to find a gap SatNav's showing the road works on the b500 I'm not entirely sure whether that's the section that's closed um when I looked on Google Maps last night it was the section from Freudenstadt up to Baden Baden but we'll see when we get there once you you've cleared the traffic on the b500 it is a lovely road actually I can see why uh it's favoured amongst motorcyclists oh heading into the dark clouds again temperature still cold 6° but spectacular here in the Black Forest so I had a bit of a diversion off the b500 I'm not sure if the satnav was picking up on some Road works and it recalculated a quicker route I'm heading back to it now uh towards the cuckoo clock shop just had my phone go off as well strange buzzing noise I thought it was WhatsApp calls but it wasn't it was an emergency test in Germany to mobile devices so to pull over and press okay coz it was annoying the hell out of me still the weather's held off which is good SatNav steamed up completely it actually rebooted itself need to dry that out again at some point but for now back on route to get to the B500 and the cuckoo clock shop so I've just stopped at the house of a 1000 clocks uh I didn't count them all but I'm sure they have got quite a lot of clocks in there yeah very nice onwards to the next one I've just been having a little bit of a think about what else I wanted to see I'm quite tired actually of the traveling I'm thinking that I'm just going to make a b-line straight to the port in Rotterdam today's Thursday if I go to a hotel somewhere on route in Germany I'll find one and then make a booking for the Saturday Ferry I'm home Sunday morning I've still got a week off work which will give me chance to recuperate review the footage and chill out for a little bit wash the bike it's absolutely filthy I think that might be the plan I'm just going to pull over somewhere on Route reprogram the SatNav to get me to Europoort as quick as possible it's only 12:00 I could do 4 hours see where I get to in 4 hours and then find a hotel I'm not bothering camping I don't think it's dropping way too cold yeah that's going to be the plan but yeah I'm tired I want to go home I actually miss home so I'm going to make me way as fast as I can to see if I can get that Saturday ferry prices are just as cheap as Sunday Mondays are expensive for some reason yeah I'm going to do that I'm going to turn you off now find somewhere to pull in and reprogram the SatNav and make a b-line for Europoort on the motorways and see how far I go I've just pulled up and reprogrammed the SatNav to take me the fastest way back to Europoort in Rotterdam what day is it today Thursday Thursday night into Friday, Friday to Saturday I want Saturday's ferry so I'm going to stop halfway along the Route probably in Luxembourg find a hotel no I could take Friday night's ferry oh I'm lost totally lost now this is why I want to go home my brain's all muddled want to stop for fuel get some food I will have a rethink as to what the plan is again! so just come through another rainstorm wasn't too bad but it's dried up again on this side of it still haven't made my mind up as to my plan to get back to the UK I want to find a hotel tonight and we're into France if I can get one that's a reasonable distance to make up on the Friday I think it might be an option to get the Friday night Ferry and arrive Saturday morning but I need to literally get some time to do some calculations for riding distances and accommodation etc well this is me in France it's the first time I've actually driven a vehicle in France I've been to France a few times but I don't think I've ever driven a vehicle in France oh that's windy as well okay whilst I was packed up in that service station looking for a hotel that rain shower caught up with me again yeah wet through oh we got que and traffic again tried booking a hotel but the rain drops on the phone is just making it impossible so I'm just going to turn up and see if they've got rooms it's a couple of hours away nonstop and then get some food at the hotel so making good progress on the motorway it's a toll road is this one as well so I've collected the toll ticket don't know how much it's going to be but it gets me to the hotel in 2 hours rather than 3 and a bit so I've having a think whilst I've been riding in so what I'm going to do is I'm going to stay in a hotel tonight see if I can get a hold of a ferry ticket for Friday night uh to get me back to the UK for Saturday morning uh saves me an extra camping or hotel to be honest um I don't fancy camping of been wet through with all that rain that we've been having recently so now back in Germany making my way towards Luxembourg I'll catch up with you later near to the hotel in Luxembourg I'm hoping you can all hear me okay with all this wind 130 km an hour well I the SatNav I should be arriving in about 23 minutes it's been a long day on the bike just blasting on the motorway I miss home miss the family seen what I wanted to see didn't really plan anything through Belgium or Luxembourg so that's why I'm quite happy to just can it all the way through, saves me some on the trip definitely those clouds look a bit uh ominous just coming up to the Luxembourg border Luxembourg I can confidently say I've never driven or ridden anything in Luxembourg so here we go into Luxemburg yeah oh 17 minutes to the hotel
