First Impression of Bali in 2021 - Bad Idea to come to Indonesia Now?

so how's bali right now should you come here how can you come here is it open for travel guys i've been here now for a few weeks and this place is quite special for me you know it's one of the most populous nations in the whole world and the first time i've been here when i just started to travel full-time in 2017 in 2019 i pretty much quit everything i was doing in my previous life started to travel full-time right now in the end of 2021 i want to take you around in this video show you how it is very affordable very beautiful and more quiet it's all right so today i want to give you an impression of how bali feels like right now i'll take you along my day different areas of bali and at the end i'll share with you whether traveling to bali right now is a good idea [Music] this place actually where we're staying right now i think i'm going to show you the next video we we seriously want the lottery with this place it's pretty affordable super amazing you're not sure you smarter time let's go mask now we don't need no mask so guys we're going to rack out right now we live like around 10 minute drive from changgu but kind of like in the middle of the two busy areas and the truth is that the very touristy areas are completely dead right now yesterday we drove through there and it was really a little bit sad most of the businesses had to close down where like it's almost mostly tourist trafficking but in the let's say expert area where all the digital moments stay and stuff like that it's very alive and um you already get it out of the way if you're interested to come to bali i'll link below first thing in the description box the guys to help me out together so guys we got into changu we're doing a bit of a stop over so if you've never been to bali this is very likely the area where all the people you are like seeing on instagram on the stories with the location takes it's a very nice area it's nothing fancy it's nothing crazy the infrastructure is actually still very like tiny roads it used to be just a village maybe like 20 30 years ago but as of right now most of the nice cafes most of let's say expat digital nomads are staying in this area but honestly it's a little bit calmer but i feel like there's even more internationals right now this is a very very international area and what also really surprised me is i'm seeing a construction back there they have built a lot of new cafes in the last few months in the last year i'm driving through and almost like 30 of the places i'm seeing just newly popped up from what i heard is that actually people from the surrounding areas from a booth from seminyak that used to stay there like long term also like let's say internationals they move to this area because this is pretty much the only area that is really fully alive so yeah i mean honestly i was positively surprised i would say as of right now it's super livable especially if you want to come here to network to meet people like really one of the nice cafes that's what bali is really known for so here i used to work a lot there's nice coffee shops or like smoothie bowls coffees good fast wi-fi pretty much everywhere so yeah that's the changu life hi everybody's filming them running look they're doing something there yeah starting the next stop for today we're here in front of the infamous valley shortcut everyone who has been here is going to know this place so basically changu as i said it used to be a village so the infrastructure in some parts especially in this part is not that developed they're actually doing something in the back so i think one day they're going to fix it this place is going to disappear and now like literally everyone's complaining about this because like the traffic is crazy but i think once it's gonna be gone people are gonna miss this place because usually everybody you have ever seen at bali you're gonna beat them again on the changu shortcuts in the back we have joe rogan tight nipples i don't know who put up this advertisement one of a kind one of a kind it's a legend let's go so we just arrived at a local clothing store she basically sells everything here so i'm gonna take a look and uh check it out alrighty guys look at this drip we got like some leo part drip we got some dwayne johnson drip we got some marty the zebra drip [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] so we made it out to the beach for the mandatory sunset that's what you have to do exactly especially if you live in chengu like they're going to drag you out every day that's what i remember from the previous years so guys changu is crazy you have so many dogs on the beach and it's mostly foreigners right yes probably like 70 percent here in the area and so how do you feel about bali being back here what are you doing very nice we met here almost two years ago and now we come back to the same place look at me even just now when we drove to the beach there was a girl right behind us like hey guys be careful your camera because there are a lot of people trying to snatch it so that never happens before well she looked paranoid honestly and while i think if you know if you have a camera around it and you have the strap and everything you should be fine you know but the truth is that there is like you know people talk about that there's more like people like maybe snatching things out of your hands and things like that honestly i still feel like bali's super safe you know people just walk around it and i literally yeah but i think snatching on a scooter might be a thing because we have been actually in was like around a week ago some guys like just stopped randomly in front of me i'm holding my phone and they went for it they tried to grab the phone i'm holding to the phone for my life was just like so they couldn't take it out that's why he tried to snatch her phone right here yeah right here yeah but it was kind of it was kind of like it was actually the first time in my life something like that happened it was somewhere between changu and samia it's kind of like a village corner not a busy area and it was dark we'll go walk towards it that's what bali especially changu is all about pure rice fields you know in the main street they're super busy have all the cafes but just like you go a little bit inside and you have these amazing rice fields everywhere so this is what i've been doing pretty much the past few weeks i've been catching up on a lot of work you don't see everything that is happening behind the scenes but now actually today i decided to pick up the camera because in the next two days or actually the next five days we're gonna be exploring a little bit around bollywood in terms of rules in terms of how is the vibe especially like if you're planning to come here so especially like indoors restaurants cafes when you go in most places you know you have to wear a mask still like you have to be vaccinated to be able to come to indonesia so here in bali surprisingly i have to tell you the vibe is super chill it's pretty amazing actually because it's a little bit more chill like this area right now than in regular times because there's pretty much no like let's say one or two week like tourism but still really busy like sometimes even like too busy that's why we moved out right now out of the main area [Music] yes guys good morning from the parking lot of the gym it's not just the gym it's the gym it's the name of the gym i've been going to for now close to a month so i'm gonna take you up i'm gonna show you around a little bit has an absolutely amazing job and morning routine like that right now like waking up 5 30 6 maybe 6 30 and just making my way up here they're open at 6 a.m and usually that's also like you know the emptiest time so i feel like in the weekend it's always a little bit quieter in the mornings yes before [Music] we're running so guys it is right now the next morning started it out a bit of a workout let me give them a little glimpse let me give you right there a little glimpse of the place we're staying i don't know maybe i'll do a villa tour this is a shared place it's like really large super amazing it's pretty affordable and this is also one of the main reasons probably why you might want to consider coming to bali right now because the type of deals you can get right now still like honestly there's some places they're fully booked out which surprise me you know and some places are still like not that affordable but then again depending on the area here we're a little bit like nuts in the city city center we're getting an amazing deal maybe i'm going to put it in the description down later maybe i'm going to do a tour we're going to move out for now you know i want it all to ourselves check it out we're actually on our way out we're going to be moving out right now for five days this is gonna be everything i have pretty much only like camera equipment one shirt one pants and what we're gonna be doing is we're gonna be going to the area of uluwatu so you know when a lot of people come to bali or maybe it's just me but honestly i was a little bit confused like i'm like coming to the beaches and it's kind of nice but it's not not that nice it's like dark sands the water is not clear like in most beaches of like let's say around the area here chengdu and i was like where are the blue water beaches where is this bali paradise and i think it's the best beaches are definitely all the way in the south is itself pretty much all the way on the bottom of the island this is where we're gonna go right now curious how is it looking there right now are things open it's around the 40 minute scooter drive so right now freezing up some mangoes having some self-made coffee that was really the best part just again staying in a place cooking for myself getting into a much nicer routine being productive the last two weeks like i haven't like i haven't gotten a single shot with the camera we just have been living completely a different life felt good but now let's get back into it let's check out how is it going on the water in the paradise of bali price is 5.5 euro per night and it's included two breakfasts for each of us are you kidding me wow running around we are running all right so i'm just gonna you know just so the background the conversations are over okay guys i would say we officially made it to want to call something here to paradise of bali that probably would be it honestly i've been in this part of bali i think once or maybe twice before we've been here together on our first trip together that was our first ever trip together guys and honestly i don't remember to be as nice as it is because the only beach we went down to many of the beaches in this area you have to kind of hike down a little bit this is one of the really nice beaches it's next to the what is the club back there do you remember it around the karma beach club but you can also just come yourself down you're like you know it's a public beach or maybe that part is private however you can make it on there [Music] i would say honestly the best part in the last year or two of traveling or let's say more so living in different countries was the fact that even the more touristy places when they come back to life they're much calmer much more peaceful much more chill and honestly i hope in the next few months they're gonna completely open up bali i really hope so you know so all the local businesses are gonna be again like it's gonna be packed it's gonna be super full so from that perspective right now actually if you're planning to come to bali it might be the best time because most of the areas you might want to go to they are alike they feel nice they feel comfortable they probably feel as good as they ever would have felt for my taste personally if you like really like the crowds if you want to go like a party heavy there will be probably a few places in bali but honestly to get into the meat of the video like how to get to bali right now so this was supposed to be the moment where i would tell you hey you can pretty easily come to bali right now and on the ground it's fun it's nice like you can come here everything's a little bit more affordable you would support the local economy and um things changed a little bit so i filmed this video three weeks ago and the thing is um they not is issuing regular tourist visas they had something planned up it didn't really really went well not a lot of people wanted to come and still was complicated so there's a lot of red tape to come to indonesia right now and since i recorded this video it also got a little bit worse so basically you had to do like three quarantine days now it's again up to seven days maybe even 10 like it keeps bouncing around so with that again maybe within a month they're gonna lower it again to three quarantine days which i think is all right uh places like thailand they do one one quarantine day so maybe it will here again like that as well but because that change just wanted to mention and bring that up the visa that you have to have if you want to come for a long-term state honestly i would say it's actually still worth it it's a so-called b211 visa and it does cost around two to three hundred dollars i'll link the guys that help me out with it they're a little bit more on the affordable end like uh i've been also in their office myself maybe i'll feature them in a future video like they started to do this a while ago and uh like it was super fast and easy so these guys can really recommend them but the thing is uh you cannot stay on a tourist visa more than two months uh more than one month anyway usually in most cases so with that you can stay here for at least two months you can even extend that so i would say if they're gonna lower the quarantine again i would say it's pretty easy to come into indonesia um if not right now honestly i myself probably will go after indonesia to thailand they're doing one day right now so full transparency to share that with you and also when it comes to things like you know other requirements you have to have a travel insurance that clearly covers that um you are protected or covered against kobets so with the safety wing that i'll also link down below they will have you all covered honestly a little bit sad to see that they again raise their requirements because it is still in many areas of bali it is a little bit dead some areas are amazing nice even like even nicer because it's not that busy but then again if you go into like the most touristy areas it doesn't look good and i hope bali will be back back to its best hopefully in 2022 at some point and so with that let's get you a more positive more upbeat talk on the back to the beach let's go back to the beach the biggest benefits it's a good bid on discount it's not as busy a bit of a downside is some areas are quite dead but you can avoid them if you want to um the other thing is theoretically in like supermarkets and things like that there's still some restrictions in place when you're on the ground you honestly don't really feel it at all everything is pretty much open but in terms of maybe partying and going out still some venues maybe only on the weekend and you know but i think that all is going to pick up in the next few months and honestly if you're watching this and you've been thinking about you know building a certain maybe similar life to mine you want to travel you want to live in different places you maybe want to build a life around that or just do it for some time i think right now late 2021 is one of the best times ever to do it places are opening up a little bit while some are closing some are opening up southeast asia it's more open than it has been in the last two years yeah and i think i think we should come yeah for a long stay for long stay for tourism for tourism i think hold on to it a little bit once they maybe gonna do one quarantine day like they do it in thailand one fortune day or no quarantine day still i would say it's probably not really worth it but yeah guys if you're new here my name is dan and for the past five years i've been pretty much yeah living and building this life of remote living around different countries usually at this point it's like four or five different countries a year we're spending at least two to three months you understand a little bit on the ground you also see for opportunities how to stay longer is it a place that i maybe want to come back with every place that i come to is it like what i want to live here what are the benefits how is it like let's say community on the ground what are the like in terms of like let's say meeting people seeing what people are doing on the ground bali has been probably one of the strongest international communities in the whole world outside of like english-speaking countries so from all of these perspectives i still can see actually why for some people bali might not be the exact choice because it is a little bit laid back you can get slow like if you maybe get into if you want to come here and like work hard and like build like a project you might end up sitting every evening on the beach and be like sunset time you hear it a lot happening to people but you know you always create your reality and i hope you're doing well wherever you are and we're gonna see each other very soon for the past few years i've been documenting my life here around perpetual travel and living around the world and as of now you're watching country number 51 indonesia we're gonna be traveling all throughout java island the known places bali and maybe also some hidden gems [Music] yeah of course i'm sorry sorry what a night you already went to talk to this guy yeah now we come to our bike and the tire is gone but it's our mechanic at the end of the road we approach the mechanic at the end of the road and i send them the photo this is how our bike looks like in the photo we get to our bike and the tire is gone because the mechanic that we hired went here found their bike in the ditch of the corner identified it as our bike and took off the tire which makes sense because which bike has a flat tire sitting in there which is why yes yes i'm like even the tools are here they're gonna come back yes and when you come back i'm like stop stop we have to figure this out does it recognize him i did i said savage we need to figure this that's because of all of these people being like molly is not safe anymore remember this girl on the bike she was like is this for us is this for our bike yeah yeah okay we'll be fast yeah okay new engine i thought we're in the middle of a crime dumb i talked about calling the police i think now we should give like buy everything from here this literally like it's pouring i have dolphins
