after thanks for uh stopping by and hillary brown is going to speak to us about a tour that she and i both participated in it was fabulous and we traveled to ireland so hillary please take it away phil thank you lisa thank you everyone for joining us uh today tomorrow whenever you're having a time to view this as you can see it looks like lisa is in ireland uh enjoying the absolutely beautiful views there and i'm in ontario so there you go uh so yes today we're just gonna really speak about um traveling to ireland and at the end i'm gonna just share a couple of tours uh yes lisa and i uh we're on a tour of uh england and ireland at the same time but today i'm really gonna focus on ireland and i've actually included a few of lisa's pictures um with a couple of our um tours so i know that she would actually like to share her pictures as well so really it's about you know what's um we really want to talk about the discussion ahead what's there to talk about with ireland um going further what what what does ireland have to offer why travel to ireland i'm just here we go so you know today there's over four and a half million canadians or shall we say 15 of the population claims that their irish descent in canada so i just kind of wanted to show you uh ireland versus canada because i know that we're um i'm in ontario as lisa is in ireland there um but i just wanted to share a little few facts um connecting ireland with canada at the oldest st patrick's day in canada actually takes place in montreal and has been running since 1824 and uh just a couple of years ago unfortunately not this year they actually saw 500 000 in attendance which i think is actually pretty amazing uh we have four of our canada's prime ministers have irish heritage uh as well as i mentioned the oldest place in montreal uh is where saint patty's day takes place so i also wanted to talk about a little go into a little bit more of ireland um really going into the gulf of ireland um just to let you know that they've got their famous golfers uh number one uh links in engulfing with um ireland uh rory mcintori is one of the famous uh sorry rory mclaury is from northern ireland recently won the rbc the canadian open um as well as we royal uh portis in northern ireland um recently hosted the 148th uh opens so again just kind of showing you a little bit about um their golf courses i know this is actually the only way i might get my husband to ireland uh he's an adamant golfer right now and uh really waiting for the courses to open at this time so i'm just going into ireland i just wanted to give you a little bit more of a background the touring route um of course with the globus family brand we visit belfast dublin killarney kilcarney waterford limerick galway just to name a few cork as well uh so we really do focus on all of ireland when traveling with the globus family of brands so of course dublin i just wanted to share uh one of our beautiful lovely cities in uh dublin um and they are actually known for gin uh they have a gin distillery uh school and and it's called glena de lo gin gunpowder it's made out of so it's a famous um gin distillery school that we do take you to and you can enjoy the um the excursions there as well and of course dublin has beautiful beautiful surprising by nature it's absolutely beautiful stunning views lots of greenery um and i just wanted to share a couple of the hidden gems um and i'm just gonna go over one of them but uh did you know um and my screen is just hiding there i'm just gonna move my screen here but did you know that you can spot wild beer in dublin phoenix park just a couple of little tidbits information i wanted to share with you um and then of course ireland's ancient east over 5 000 years of history so there's a lot of history when it comes to ireland as well um and uh new range just a couple of i just really i find that you know pictures say a thousand words so i really wanted to show you quite a few lovely photos as well and of course new range is known it's over 600 years older than the uh giza pyramids in egypt it's a thousand years older than stonehenge uh where lisa and i had been to stonehenge um and of course it's also um the elimination of the inner chamber of the winter uh solstice so uh just there's a lot to see when it comes to ireland as mentioned uh the rock of gaushal it's according to the legend the rock of cashell appeared when the devil took a bite out of a mountain while trying to escape to saint patty's um and spa spat it back out uh it landed in the middle of uh temporary countryside so it's really ancient seat of ireland's high kings dating back to the 4th century and then of course waterford we all know about the waterford crystal it's the oldest city founded by the vikings and of course it's still the heart and the soul of the city um known for its waterford crystal then we also have the wild atlantic way um and this is um really this is the longest defined coastal driving route which uh global family brands also goes through uh the dublin ireland's ancient east causeway coastal route northern ireland uh again you can see the county the limerick the waterford the galway it's an absolutely amazing view this way as well so um galway just to name a few um places that i wanted to shop it's known for its charming towns villages of the wild atlantic way it's uh got of course you can see from the pictures here the westport um uh the clockwise uh we've got westport we've got um colonel mayo dingle court um carrie doolin and claire as well carrie sorry um and then there's a lot of experiences when it comes to uh ireland and you know the giant experience has has been working very closely um with the ireland tourist board as well as the global family of brands to create a unique and immersive experience that we believe that international visitors have an appeal to international audiences so you can see that there's many um things to do here there's a buyer's guard featuring these experience that has been produced and of course there's a pdf if you ever want to go on and see that and as well there's maps outlines and locations you can see it's got clifftop experience um you can see the men of the mounties stars and stones uh toasted toast the coast there's a lot of amazing experiences when you have that free belfast so of course it was known for the titanic city absolutely beautiful views again uh really getting to see um the belfast uh with the globus family and brands as well and whiskey on the rocks it's really it's known for the quiet spot of the giant's causeway and you can take a sip of bushmills which is a 12 year old distillery reserve whiskey and you can now really let the salty sea wind envelop you at the same time while you can enjoy that 12 year old whiskey so uh whiskey on the rocks is in a beautiful uh excursion as well and it's only about 70 minutes away from belfast uh there's also the goblins at the cliff path walkway as you can see an experience here you can enjoy as well and then you can also experience the best of the north coast has to offer from a different perspective on horseback as well which is a different uh way to enjoy um the giant causeway as well um when it comes to your free time northern ireland uh well ireland is known for their sheep um this is also a wonderful experience that you can enjoy as well which is um the sheepdogs at work and really getting to know how to shave a sheep a wonderful experience they're really getting to indulge in the experience with a local um so there's a lot of experiences when coming to ireland um to enjoy that and then of course uh unlocking the walled city um of course this is the great walls of dairy um known for the walled city have witnessed centuries and drama as well so again lots of to see um when you can this is about an a two hour drive from belfast um and uh globus family brands has lots of excursions that we can include as well um and you know sorry globus um belfast ireland is known for their food um they actually uh in belfast um have an international and travel tourism um award that was given to them for the best foodie destination in ireland which is belfast so lots and lots of food to taste at the same time speaking about food uh i actually went on the internet and i found this irish scones uh hidden gem shall we say um that is a wonderful classic irish scone so if you have a picture or if you have a camera there i would suggest uh taking a picture of this uh making it and let lisa know how it turns out uh i know that now that i found it i keep making muffins for my kids that i'm actually going to uh make uh the classic irish scones for my children um for a snack and i am actually looking forward to making it so it's got the uh european metric system but again it's also got the north american metric system as well so um please go on take a picture of that and only takes about 15 minutes to bake that um so i ask you to bake those and let lisa know how they turn out now when it comes to the globus family of brands we are known for the right elements for the it was actually very very good and we actually from there on from the guinness uh brewery every time we were in our hotel and having a beer and you have to have the local beer um i actually would ask for it with um the uh syrup so again that was something that i had learned and it was actually very very good so uh really bringing the things to life and bringing home the bragging rights to knowing that you've tasted it you've tried the local favorites um and that's a truly experience um unique to globus that we include um so as i mentioned when you arrive our hotels um are superior first class waterford you're actually gonna also have a local favor if you remember we spoke about local favorites uh and enjoying that irish coffee demonstration and of course enjoying it at the end and tasting it uh we'll also be going to rathbond farm seeing a farmer at work and again a no another local favorite there is baking your own scones and enjoying a coffee in the farmhouse as well so this is really the introduction to ireland uh this is a seven day tour we'll be starting in dublin and ending in dublin as well um and uh just i want to really uh this is one of lisa's pictures so as i mentioned with a couple of our tours i wanted to add a few of lisa's pictures so if you'd like to say a few words here lisa the next two pictures are your personal pictures okay well this obviously this was when we stopped in at the guinness brewery and i just want to add that while there not only did i try the dry stout which they are world famous for but they also brew a hop house 13 which is a lager so um if you're used to something like a coors or molson canadian if that's more your palette that is available so yeah that that i took there it was lovely seeing that antique building touring through there getting the history behind the brewery it wasn't just a brewery visit it was we it was a step back in time into history so it was fabulous and again this was from with inside the brewery and um i can't say enough it was very exciting even if you're not a beer person it's just the background of how long this has been in ireland and you know a major industry it was quite fascinating and um i don't know i have a whole whole lot more if you'd like and lisa we also got to experience um beer bread if you remember that as well that is absolutely incredible and you actually get to go home with the recipe for that one as well so uh yes we really take you into the experience of it's not just a visit it's not just a view it's an inside visit it's an experience when it comes to um the globus family of brands so other tour sorry lisa i was going to say if you like i i have a total of 25 pictures if you'd like me just to roll through them quickly i i can so how would you want to do that when we're done this one at the end yes yeah fantastic yes and i have a little hint about while you're on the tour with globus because there is wi-fi on the coach make use of it so that we have as well is from the ireland's ancient east to the wild atlantic way so we were speaking earlier about the atlantic way the coast there um and really visiting ireland so in a couple of highlights that we have here on this nine-day tour in kell kenny we're gonna have to do a guided tour and again it comes to the local favorites and here we're gonna have the smith wicks experience and ale tasting uh we're gonna go visit the new ross visit the dun roddy uh famine ship and then again in waterford uh enjoying a local favorite again enjoying an irish coffee demonstration ride the water and sewer river whale sorry railway guided walking tour of the waterford treasures and guided tour of the house of waterford crystal so again there's uh absolutely wonderful um experiences when it comes to this nine-day um city tour uh we're also going to a dare um admire the thatch cottages as you can see i think lisa's still there at her thatched cottage behind her and then again the cliffs of moyer which is the again savoring this spectacular view uh now this is also one of lisa's lovely pictures here killarney i believe yes it is correct so the next two pictures are uh yes so this is killarney uh we actually got on a um a little um a horse uh uh tour um taking us around the park and absolutely having a lovely view there as well um so again every day is a city day a full experience when it comes to um the globus family of brands another now that we started off i kind of wanted to start off with an introduction of ireland and then we're going to slowly go into the regional discoveries as well so this is one of our tours as well um which is emerald isle uh this is a 10-day tour and uh just a couple of highlights with this tour i wanted to focus on was the uh strokes town house which we're going to have a guided tour of the house and the famine museum and visit the gardens uh we'll go into calmore where we'll visit the benedict abbey uh conomera which will visit the marble workshop um and the eron islands which will take a ferry too and from inishmore we'll hear a presentation on the life and the island uh by a local historian and of course the local favorite here we're actually going to enjoy lunch at the t joy waddy's pub and then we're going to take a mini bus tour drive uh with a guide and visit dun agnes and then of course we're also going to see another highlight would be the dingle peninsula where we're going to head and drive to visit dingletown and of course a local favorite there would be dinner at a pub so you know we're talking about our local favorites where it can be uh learning how to make irish scones or it could be um going into uh having a uh learning to have a irish coffee and then we're speaking about having a local favorite is having a dinner and a pub so these are really as i mentioned we understand that you're traveling so far that we're really trying to bring the full experience of our tours local culture into our tours uh this is actually one of lisa's lovely pictures as well here that i'm sure she would like to share as well i think that was that waterford yes it was yes yeah it's uh you know it's it's a wonderful picture it's amazing how she's got nobody in the background uh she's like me i like to take my pictures with nobody in them as well but again it's the it's the the walking around it's not only the inside the shops but it's walking getting the full experience as well uh and then here we have our scenic ireland uh this is a 13-day tour uh and just again just a couple of the highlights on this tour um is the westport visiting the heritage town dairy you're going to have a guided walking tour here the county antrim we're going to visit uh giant causeway here and then of course belfast we're going to have a living history tour visiting the titanic experience and of course a guided tour of hillsbury castle and joy and morning coffee and then another lovely highlight in this tour is going into carlingford visiting the medieval town again i believe this is also one of lisa's lovely pictures that she's taken um so another beautiful photo here from her this is actually uh this was outside a pub we went in and had dinner wasn't it lisa it was it was it was quite it was a lot of fun very very historic and once you're inside it's really so much fun i wish i could find oh it's it says right there it's three rock bar it just totally escaped my mind so actually funny enough this this um rock bar three rock bar um this the owner of this used to be a tour director with the globus family of brands and then he actually opened a a bar so again uh really bringing the family together when it comes to the globus family of brands uh and i really wanted to share when it comes to the globus product as well and cosmos i should mention brand new to us we just added cosmos that now um you can have a we have our city tours which is 44 passengers per coat we also have our where she is now that's where i am now in a dare and you know what there i am that is my background in a dare beautiful thatched cottages i believe this was taken when we made our way over to bath yes that's why i kept the file info over there that was taken in bath again bath is gorgeous think bridgeton and um there we are in bonrati more fat fat cottages they're just breathtaking bonrati castle cardiff just it was just we had such a lovely dinner in cardiff and this i know you should you included this one in your your presentation the cliffs of mower uh my suggestion to you when you go there if you have long hair bring an elastic it was breezy not overly windy but breezy it was just absolutely beautiful breathtaking and county carry just lovely and this is when we were crossing the st george channel we were leaving ireland making our way over to wales i think that's the cliffs of mower again that might have been uh on the 16th where were we ah we had left dublin we had gone to galway we visited the cliffs of moher uh this may have been in limerick i think it might have been actually yes and there we are the half penny bridge in dublin this was at the beginning of the our tour again guinness and down there we are the river leafy and the three rock pub oh yes oscar wilde and ed edwardville yeah the statue i've got a hint for when you want no one in your picture such as this what i do with a friend of mine that i travel with all often if she wants a picture and there's just one or two people straggling what i do is i intentionally walk into her shot and then i look up at her and i very softly say oh excuse me and i step out and then inevitably who else is in the shot usually will step out as well that's a great idea i love it you know i don't say do you mind moving i just pretend that i don't know her and i very calmly just say oh excuse me and i step away um uh killarney castle clarny the ross castle loved it loved it and then obviously we had made our way to london and that's the london eye on the thames and before we got to london yes stonehenge which i love the buses there the buses had you know the direction it said to the rocks yeah yeah exactly yeah and then we were this is just kensington the gardens at kensington palace and then we we had time they took us on a tour again we were focusing on ireland but what our tauren did in london and it included a tour we went to the tower of london and that is it for my my share and i i'd like to say we did go in the month of october and as you can see our pictures it was bright it was sunny there was a distinct lack of crowds i highly suggest for anyone going to you know when if i say to my clients when they're looking for the proper time to go i ask what exactly do they want from their vacation and if they just say it's all about the sights i said then you're going in the shoulder season right and we went in october and as you can see from our pictures we had lovely weather so while it's beautiful to go in the summer don't discount the value of going other times and cosmos and globus they can make it happen for you i can make it happen for you so if you have any questions
