Experiencing a Different Side of KOH PHANGAN (Thailand's Healing Island)
we haven't done this for two years two years at least here's your ticket to Koh Phangan I'm excited for Koh Phangan because every time we go to Koh Phangan we always enjoy it yeah it's like has a healing power it does it's a very calming Island if you don't go for the full moon party which we've never actually been to the full moon party so we only known Koh Phangan as a healing Island as you can tell from where we're hopping on the boat this is at Lomprayah high speed ferry pier there's not a lot of people because if it's full moon party it'll be that will be line up all the way to main street so the pier we're at is not only for going to Koh Phangan but you can also go to Koh Tao and Chumphon from here I don't know the prices for the other ones but for us the ferry to Koh Phangan today cost us 250 Baht each one way and when we get to the other side then we can purchase the return ticket I think you can also buy it online but you just have to set up an account and all of that and we just thought it's not busy it's kind of like a low season so we might as well buy it just at the ferry terminal oh lots of people going to Koh Tao yeah majority seems like it's Koh Tao you know how in China we thought we were the only ones with backpacks everyone has suitcases but here it's like we're the weird ones with a little suitcase everyone else has backpacks it's a bigger boat than I expected yeah I thought it's going to be like the wooden blue color ones almost boat I guess like this one the first stop is Koh Phangan and then the final stop is Koh Tao so everyone is on this one big boat this is what it probably is like we just went during pandemic times so everything was just in a smaller scale is there anything you look forward to in Koh Phangan I actually look forward to eating vegan food because there is a really really good vegan restaurant there's multiple but there's one that we absolutely love from our last visit so we hope it's still as good and I would like to do a yoga class when we're there yeah I found one that's not too far from where we're staying so hopefully we can do that either morning or sunset sunset would be nice not a big fan of yoga but I'll give it a try yeah keep an open mind right you never know what you need you got to like let the island inspire you I'm getting into the Koh Phangan mood welcome to the magical island of Koh Phangan that was so quick yeah quick and convenient and look at this the sun came out to greet us perfect you know I didn't think it through we didn't think it through what we're going to rent a bike yeah we have three bags how we going to fit all this on the bike easy I got this one on my thigh just go go like this yeah we've done this before we are professionals okay yeah I think we have to walk out a bit to get the to the bike rental shop remember we rented it from the guy last time uh the Chinese Thai man that I said looks like my grandpa yes yes should we go back to him maybe well yeah near the pier let's see what's going on on the island look this is the one on the brochure I got muay Thai fighting is tomorrow tomorrow night there's so many things like waterfall party Hippie Market good yeah but it's Saturday we leave on Friday oh and then look at this dancing in the jungle under the stars this is what Koh Phangan is known for like the full moon party half moon party music festivals I feel like one day we have to come back here and actually go to the full moon party I know we don't drink and we don't really party but you need to at least experience it once when I'm uh when I'm maybe emotionally ready no we'll come with friends more fun with friends so we need to make some friends this one right it is this one I remember the 50 Baht gasoline sign what are we renting did you choose one not yet just a regular scooter and he said it's only 200 Baht per day nice next step we're going to have to figure this out easy we can put this in the front between my leg no I got it you got it you sure okay okay yeah like this and then like this like that you good yeah I think good it's 20 minutes ride is it it's fine it's fine I'm comfortable okay oh my God yeah it was good actually I can't put it in the middle I got to put it on the side okay because then I'm sitting closer to me yeah I'm sitting too far back what an adventure already this is it this feels very cute already there's only these like four units and down this path is a little Hidden Beach and you can see the ocean from here look at that what's the name of the place again it's called Nymph Hideout I actually didn't find this on Booking which I usually use or Trip.com I just like looked on Google Map like zooming in and zoom in and I saw this place and like the price was so good and it looked very very nice and clean and bright wow nice outdoor area here put this down they turn on the AC for us ready very nice oh it's small but it's cute yeah it even says here welcome to Nymph Hideout wonderful to have you with us this looks like a queen bed oh my God I think it's a king size this is really soft like this is this is like quality wow this is really nice bed and what else we have here we have a little safe on the side oh iced tea no coffee here but that's because they have a new coffee shop that opened just on top and then guests get 10% off as well so we can go there for coffee and slippers slippers WiFi hair dryer amenities here I didn't know they had a kitchen no it's perfect for longterm stay microwave cutlery you get two stove tops toaster kettle pans yeah this is definitely for like long-term rental in the future I think washroom is smaller but it has everything you need the toilet the shower hot water sink yeah I think it's nice and how much did we pay for this again it was 1,080 Baht per night which is such a good deal because when I was looking at the other resorts on the island a lot of them were like 2,000 or 2500 Baht but they just look like big resorts like older buildings but this place because you book directly on their website and not through a third party I think that's why they give you a way better rate so it was 1,080 per night it's awesome it's so new are so many butterflies here I feel like nature is doing something you know like in Koh Phangan it just feels like you can see nature in action everywhere around you like that was just 10 butterflies going at once like that's so crazy it's hard to describe you have to be here and experience it yourself the vibrations of the island it sounds very hippie this is so relaxing I feel like we sometimes take Koh Phangan for granted when we live so close to it yeah like we see it every day yeah we're like oh look it's Koh Phangan over there but it's like we just don't make the effort to come over here even though the last two or three times we came over here we enjoyed it a lot we're like oh it's just there it's going to be there and then we forget about it but I'm getting quite hungry I think it's time for the delicious vegan food thank you this place smells so good yeah smells like incense mhm I remember really liking the sushi bowl teriyaki tempeh the carrot salmon oh the carrot salmon is so good like the carrot tastes like smoked salmon that was incredible okay yeah I think I'm going to get that I've decided wow thank you I've never been so excited for vegan food look at this yours look so good this one's um miso tofu steak yeah looks amazing I'll let you know if it tastes good I'll take my first bite it is it it yeah she can confirm oh wow thank you that looks amazing too wow goodness there's so many goodies in this you have the cucumbers the teriyaki tempeh avocado these carrots are to die for I already know then the salad and then like pickled ginger at edamame beans they even added capers to give it like a little salty taste excited for this crazy right that's so delicious the rice is nice and crunchy mhm it's not wet it's like dry so it absorbs the sauce and this carrot actually tastes like salmon smoked salmon when you took it I was like I'm not going to eat it I'm just showing it to the camera you can have it back that was just my natural instinct you can have it no no sharing is caring if we were to live in Koh Phangan I could become vegan if the food is this good the thing is if we were vegan I mean vegan living here mhm our food costs would go up three times at least yeah yeah cause it's more expensive than the local food but with the portion size and the quality of the ingredients they use mhm I think it's worth it the tofu steak is good yeah wakey wakey is it comfy I don't want to get up you don't want to get up this is what Koh Phangan does to you it relaxes your body yeah maybe that's what my body is telling me so we both got extreme food coma after lunch and we decided to come back to the hotel to take a nap but the bed is so comfy and we didn't want to get up and now it looks like the storm is coming so we might just take it easy today and start again tomorrow morning isn't it incredible that I was able to get up from that bed and look at this it's raining like crazy the universe is trying to tell us something to rest yeah to rest and take it easy wow even this is so nice so relaxing sleeping is going to be a bliss tonight we get to listen to the rainfall plain or blueberry blueberry blueberry what is that again masala tea it's interesting to find that here it's so soothing we used to drink that every day in Nepal is it good though yeah this place is so chill wow this is so cute this is a lovely beach wow a very pleasant surprise so we are at Secret Beach now The Not So secret Beach quite a few people know about it green and yellow oh green and yellow is nice too he said to go to Koh Raham which is on our list oh you can snorkel what is snorkel in Thai we'll show here first and then we'll go check it out yeah yeah oh medium is perfect yeah small would have been too small should we try the cream cheese bagel oh yeah nice and chewy a little bit too chewy I think it would have been really nice when it was freshly toasted toast it in the sun I feel like we could easily spend a week here in Koh Phangan two nights a bit too short I feel like we could spend a month here maybe we should look into that when we come back to Koh Samui spend a month in Samui and a month in Phangan Koh Phangan has changed so much since we've last been here I feel like there's more shops open now there's more cafes open now we were here when it was kind of run down yeah so now we see the charm and the beauty of what Koh Phangan is like he said that just behind these rocks that way mhm there's a beach for beautiful sunset which we should go check it out it's called Zen beach and every Friday oh see there's a there's a lady lady topless lady there lady oh [ __ ] he said he said there's a nude beach there Zen beach is a nude beach wait but there's like 30 people in the water I know but they don't really care oh wow she's just topless confident yeah and she said if you want to go check it out we can go it's not far from here he said you seen it so many times he's just used to it now but when he first went to Zen Beach he felt awkward because everyone was naked and he felt like he needed to be naked too did he start taking off his clothes and he said people will invite you to be naked but this is mostly like foreigners coming here on holidays right like local people don't Thai people don't get naked on the beach I was looking at Zen Beach before because it has a lot of Google reviews people going there for Sunset doing like aerial yoga and meditation and stuff but nothing mentioned that they would be doing it naked no the drum circle is not naked okay there's I think like a part of the beach there a part of the beach because the beach is quite long that people just get nude yeah I've never I've never went to a nude beach before well we'll go check it out this the this evening we'll watch the sunset and we'll watch the moon naked well I guess we can't film that part of it we should just film us walking in the beach naked and just box box box box box see look at this cool beach oh yeah here there will be nudest beach on the right for lovers half of the beach is nude during sunset interesting wow this is so cool can't believe it took us this long to make it here I know right eating delicious food makes me happy even though it's a bit expensive even though it's a bit expensive but look at the surrounding come on yeah it's what it sometimes you got to splurge a little you know enjoy enjoy your holidays you got to embrace the abundance money comes and money goes let it flow flow in and flow out but make sure it flows in more than it flows out though see the fishermen out out there with the three dogs mhm when you see dogs being so loyal to people and you know going everywhere with them do you automatically feel like those are good people yeah that's what I feel too now that I know that but you know your aura attracts animals oh my goodness look at the size of that that's why cats follow me everywhere cuz I'm a good person I think cats follow us everywhere you're the Cat Whisperer though you are how are we going to finish this fish wow this is deep fried sea bass with tamarind sauce it's a southern thing The Tamarind sauce look it's like so well seasoned yeah looks amazing it may seems like we're not doing much here in Koh Phangan it's true we're not doing much on this trip the last couple times we've been here we did a lot of like fun things on the island all the epic things we did already we really think Koh Phangan has one of the best best hikes we've ever done in Thailand Bottle Beach Viewpoint so stunning it is it's the craziest viewpoint up there but it's also dangerous you have to climb on the rocks kind of like Spider-Man the most beautiful viewpoint we have ever seen in Thailand we're now walking toward Zen Beach but yeah it has some weird energy going on like look at this I feel it too what is this it's some type of shrine you feel it yeah you feel like a different energy I feel a bit like I don't belong I don't know if that's how you feel I don't know but I also feel like it's not very Thailand mhm okay remember go left is where clothes on go right we got to take off our clothes so we going to the left or we're going to the right first I think we should go to the left first see how it feels and then venture to the right okay it definitely feels like everyone is waiting yeah like waiting for the sunset for the show waiting for the beautiful sunset show here it's interesting I feel like this is the most people we've seen at once on the island so cute look at your tail do you have a owner is that yours yeah you can take it home cute dog oh there's one more here let's go a bit further and find a place to chill I'm starting to settle in a bit though yeah as in everyone's kind of doing their own thing but it just feels like a lot of energy in this oh I see a naked dude okay I think we're to the right right now but not far right so we do see one naked person over there on the right we'll see how it feels but you know maybe later on we'll get naked and just enjoy the sunset I'm pretty much decided already that you're not going to get naked I'm going to get naked just joking I don't think I can I can only do it at like a Japanese onsen because Japanese ladies they don't look at each other they well they don't look at each other here too oh I don't know it's quite an interesting place I think it has the perfect name Zen Beach it's very very Zen it does have a different vibe to it it almost feels like I should be journaling or meditating or something like that when you're here that's what it feels like very interesting never been to a beach that gave me this feeling before
