Let's jump and reach there. What a scene this is! Namaskar Friends! Welcome to Visa2exlore. I am your host Harish Bali. Today, I am in Prayagraj. On the special occasion of Maha Kumbh I'll start the day by taking a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. It is 9AM and currently I am standing on the shore of River Ganga.

Many pilgrims are taking a holy bath. Har Har Gange! Jai Maa Gange! Har Har Mahadev is being chanted. On taking look at the arrangements here Everything's been very-well organized. I will discuss this in details. Let's take a boat to Triveni Sangam and take holy bath at confluence of River Ganga, Yamuna & River Saraswati You might wonder why I'm taking a boat. Many people are bathing on the ghat so, why are all not taking a boat.

I asked about this to some people. I found Triveni Sangam is 100m away. If flow of River Ganga increases the location of the confluence changes. If River Yamuna's flow increases the location changes again.

So, it depends on one's individual belief and people find it comfortable to take a holy bath on the ghat. On the ghats there are separate toilets for male and female. There are changing rooms available too In a group, a member can care for your belongings while you bathe. This is how things are managed.

When traveling solo, I don't have an answer about where you can keep your belongings safely while bathing. I haven't found any locker facility here. What a scene this is! We have hired a private boat for sangam.

The charge is Rs 2000. The boatman told he'll get boat to the shore but as it would take time we jumped and reached the boat. Come, let's sit and go. Our boat ride has started. One option was paying Rs 300 per person to the sangam, sometimes its Rs 70-100.

In the evening price reduces to Rs 150 based on demand and supply. Our boat is sailing on River Yamuna. From Akbar Fort, Delhi, Yamuna is flowing From other side, River Ganga is flowing from Gangotri, Haridwar, Kanpur. River Saraswati is also a part of the confluence but its hidden. There is a story behind this that River Saraswati originates in a place here.

Siberian birds are flying beside the boat. The birds are here from November-March What a scene this is! You are in Prayag, land of Brahma. Maha Kumbh Mela (Fair) is going on. This is taking place after 144 years.

We are at the confluence of rivers. River Saraswati is hidden. You can offer flowers and take a dip.

Today, I consider myself very lucky to get a chance to visit Prayagraj during Kumbh for holy dip at Triveni Sangam. This is a great feeling. Its difficult to express my feeling in words Devotees have gathered in huge numbers.

The water of River Ganga and Yamuna is of different colours. The colour of River is brownish in tone and water of River Yamuna is green. As there are many boats here the colours are not very clear. This moment is precious.

This moment is exclusive! Let's go back to the boat. I will change and join you again. I saw changing room facility near Triveni Sangam. It is good as a facility. When traveling in a group, staying together is best when children are with you. Try avoiding taking children below 5 years as they catch cold faster & its winters.

I asked boatman how long will it take He told 15-20 minutes to go and you can spend half an hour then return journey will be half an hour because we take a long route while returning back. They're allotted separate to and fro routes We left our clothes, purse, mobile in the boat before taking a bath. This was done by many others too. Its up to you if you want a priest to guide you when taking the bath. I took a bath on my own. There are volunteers for local help.

If you need help to be in water there's help Generally when I travel I have an itinerary of the places to visit. My itinerary is totally packed always. This time I don't have a strict plan. I want to make this journey an experience.

I want to spend sufficient time in places I visit today and tomorrow. I want to feel the vibes of the journey. With an itinerary this becomes difficult. At Triveni Sangam I spent about 1 hour.

I wasn't feeling content to leave the place. With an itinerary I'd stay 10-15 minutes As I would have a list of places to visit. I might not visit many places today but I will spend quality time these 2 days. This journey will be very different.

You can go by boat to Triveni Sangam for a bath from sunrise to sunset. Around 5PM boat sailing stops. You can bathe at the ghat at any time there are no time restrictions for that. You can come by battery rickshaw to the sangam point.

If you want to explore Prayagraj you can get an autorickshaw easily. I got an Uber easily from the airport. I booked an Uber to Civil Lines. How much one has to walk depends on if you're coming on special day or other day On special bath day you might have to walk more as at that time car movement stops 5-6 KM towards the ghat. On other days you have to walk 3-5 KM.

About parking facility you can refer to a press note I have got. Depending on direction of arrival you can know where to park your car. On special bath day, the cars are parked 6KM away.

On other days you can get parking 2-2.5KM away from mela grounds. Boatman dropped us at Kilaghat. I wanted to visit Akshay Vat and Sarswati Koop.

let's visit the temple in the fort. The exit will be on the other side. There was a huge queue to enter the fort tourists aren't allowed inside the fort as it is an army controlled area.

Tourists can visit the temples inside fort. We reached Akhay Vat in half an hour. Akshay Vat is the place where Lord Vishnu appeared in front of Rishi as Balukund. One branch is here and another in the fort. We then went to Patalpuri Temple in the same complex in basement.

Here you can see the place Lord Ram spent 3 night before visiting Chitrakoot. You can worship idols of other gods and goddesses and feel the vibes. In the same complex we visited Saraswati Koop. I earlier told River Saraswati isn't visible as per the legends when Rishi Ved Vyas was narrating the story of Mahabharata to Lord Ganesha, the sound of River Saraswati was very loud. When Ved Vyas requested the River tobe become calm, it didn't listen and Rishi Ved Vyas cursed the river to go underground. So, this place called Saraswati Koop you can see River Saraswati after which it joins Triveni Sangam underground.

It is 3:15PM now and it took 2 hours to visit the temple as it was crowded. You can see lunch element on Harish Bali Travels channel. That will be better. I will join you in the evening. You can see what I'll do in Prayagraj in the evening 5:30PM onwards. You can see about accommodations in Prayagraj on YouTube Community post A 10-minute read will give you an idea about stay options near the mela (fair) About Tent city in Arail Ghat.

This will be covered in Episode 2 as well. You can see it on next Sunday. There are many stay options in city area which is 4-5 KM away from fair grounds There're many hotels near Railway Station I visited sleeping pods too. Pods are available for 12-24 hours. There are family pods and locker facility. Half KM away you can visit Shri Adi Shankar Viman Mandapam.

Bade Hanuman Ji Temple is here too. There's Digital Kumbh Experience Center. I first thought of visiting today but later decided to go tomorrow. You can see this in the next episode. In Kalighat, near boat club we're here to see fountain show at 7PM.

Tourists are here in huge numbers. All are waiting for fountain show to start. I'll show you a glimpse then tell you. In the show they told that Lord Brahma did first Yagya on the land of Prayagraj.

They told the literal meaning of Prayagraj. It means "Pra"- first, "Yag"-Yagya. Recently on Tamil Nadu tour I visited Dharasuram Sri Airavatesvara Temple. You will see that series after Prayagraj.

Durvasa Risi cursed Lord Indra and his elephant Airavat was cursed too. That legend is linked to the ocean too. That is depicted in this show here. They are also telling about the religious importance of visiting Prayagraj. The fountain show starts in the evening at 7PM and ends at 7:40PM. We traveled 4KM from Kalighat to Arail side and visit Shivalik Park.

It is open till 10PM. We are at Shivalik entry gate. We can see replica of 12 jyotirlinga. The entry ticket is Rs 50 per person. On weekends it is Rs 100 per person.

Near entry gate is a scene of Samudra manthan. You can see that on entering. This is a huge statue of Nandi. This is a model of Kedarnath Temple.

You can read information on board here in Hindi and English. This definitely looks good. On that side is Shri Mahakal Temple, I know as I've visited Ujjain.

You can't see this structure at once as temple is huge in Ujjain. You have to see the temple from different angles to now the design of temple. The temple is South-facing which is unique to the temple's structure and also unique among 12 jyotirlingas. I'm outside the model of Omkareshwar temple which was built by the Parmar ruler of Malwa and reconstructed by Rani Ahilyabai.

In 2025 winters I'll visit Madhya Pradesh Mandwa and Omkareshwar Temple. On left is replica of Kashi Viswanath Temple I visited twice in 8 years. These designs look easy but they are not that easy to make. Waste material is used to make it so perfectly to design the replicas. Everything is symmetrically designed well.

Wonderful! Seeing excitement of visitors I can feel all are liking these designs. Views vary in the day and at night. This is a model of Rameswaram Temple. I covered this is 2023 Tamil Nadu series I took holy bath in 12 kunds.

That journey began in Kanniyakumari, the Rameswaram, Madurai & Thanjavur. I recently visited Tamil Nadu again. After Prayagraj series you will get to see the Tamil Nadu series on this channel. This is Shore Temple Tamil Nadu built in 8th century by King Palwa This temple had gone under the ocean due to a cyclone and sea level rising but temple is now visible and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

No puja is done there. You will like its unique architecture with temples of Lord Vishnu and Shiva. It used to be a temple earlier. This place has been well-developed and is a permanent structure. Overall, very good. We'll keep this till here as its 9PM.

We will try to start the day early tomorrow. I'll extend the day tomorrow as its our last day here. I know 2 days are very less for Kumbh. As nothing else was working out atleast 2 days were enough to create lifetime memories.

This time I didn't want to miss it. Let's end this episode here. The places we visit tomorrow, you can see that in the next episode. Bye Bye! Thanks for your time. As I told Shivalay is on Arail side If I would come early I could have covered the ghat and Tent city today itself. You will see it in the next episode.

Second half of the day I visited akhada It is the soul of Kumbh. You will see this in next episode. I hope you liked Episode 1 of Kumbh. Mid week you'll see the BTS on Harish Bali Travels where food-centric information is provided in details.
