DESTINATION ESCAPE - Lass dich nicht erwischen! | Episode 5 /7 | Switzerland Tourism
They started their fourth day with a view. The famous Gotthard Panorama Express gave them an incomparable ride through the Swiss countryside. But soon they got a call from Leopold and were surprised with another puzzle. They figured out the phone number of someone named Eichler, who sent them to Mount Pilatus.
After they arrived on the mountain, they had to compete against one another in a challenge for the first time. After a dizzying contest for the best time, Lukas won and got to collect the next clue for the group. It led them straight to the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne, where Leopold met them after opening hours. But he couldn’t tell them much about their new mission. No! I think this is a bad sign.
Should we... What? Shhh. The mood was already tense among us. And then for the first time we realized, okay, if we get caught, there’s going to be immediate consequences.
If our Leopold is no longer around, and we did have to reach out to him now and again, to get tips, then that would be really unfavorable. And it didn’t exactly sound friendly, the way they hauled him off. We knew that could theoretically happen to us too. Who’ll take this one? Me.
Okay. Yeah. Hey, guys. One for all. All for one.
Hello. Can you hear me? Leopold, where are you? These goons locked me up. But I noticed something.
As long as you stay out of range of their lights, they probably can’t see you. Watch yourselves. Okay. We’ll meet back here. No, no, no. There are trains here.
I don’t get it. All symbols are weapons, not trucks. There are trains here. Aaaaaaah! Aaaaaaah! Aaaaaaah! I had no strategy at all, I was just hoping that I wouldn’t get caught. I was in a panic and imagining all kinds of things. Come on! Into the train. I need a fast train, but it’s behind a pane of glass.
Behind the glass? Exactly. I keep running round in circles. I think I have to get back to the map. Okay. I had it right.
I ran around the place a thousand times. The whole time. I have no idea what I’m looking for. At first we had no idea at all. We did think it would probably make sense if we have to look for trains.
We’re in a train museum. But it’s not like we found them right away. I think I ran around for half an hour at least, until I figured out at some point what I was actually looking for. Okay, sure. One train is up here.
Exactly. Are you getting it down there? No. We ran around that train car seven times. What am I looking for, exactly? Wait, wait, wait, wait. Do you see the locomotives drawn on the map? We see the individual symbols plus numbers. Do you have anything? No.
I don’t either. We’re trying to find out what exactly we’re looking for. I can’t even find the boat. I think I ran around that place ten times. Can you hear us? I don’t get it. Listen. That’s the one in front of us.
That’s not a locomotive. But this is one too. No, no, no, those are those pedestals back there. Those are seats, definitely. Like airplane seats. Guys, that makes no sense.
Leopold, what exactly are we looking for near the train car? Did you see those bells that are hanging everywhere? Bells? No. We didn’t see any bells. Take another good look around. There should be little bells all over this room. I suggest you mark down these symbols.
You can use them to communicate, so you always know which train car it’s about. After the first adrenaline-charged round, our participants learned the layout of the hall, but they didn’t have any idea what they should look for. Leopold was able to give them a tip, that they have to find four keys, that are attached to chains along with little bells. The bells are spread around in the hall, and you have to look really close to spot them. But is there enough time to get them down before the guards catch them? This should be it. Bells, bells, bells.
Oh my fucking God. I have one. They have completed the mission and found all the keys that were hidden in the museum.
But Leopold is still being held captive, and they can’t leave him behind. Leopold, we have all the keys. Great job, now get me out of here. Where are you? In one of the train cars.
A little further up. Yes, up. 2B. Up the stairs. Are we all going together? Yes.
Then it still wasn’t over. But we had a goal, to get Leo out of there. So that’s what we tried to do. Back, back, back. Let’s sprint up those stairs. Are you in the base right now? I’m up the stairs.
Look up and to your left. You’ll see me. Fuck. Oh, wait.
You’re here. They locked this damn door. They left this stuff here. Take that down with you into the base. Maybe you can use some of it to get me out.
Leopold can give them a plan, that might be the key to freeing him. Get me out of here, okay? Get me out of here. Up there, up there, up there. There’s one.
He’s coming. Okay. Where to? Make up your mind. He’s behind us. I think they want to take me away. You have to hurry. Okay? One of them is gone. We’ll go in there.
Somebody’s coming. He’s going in there. Go, go, go, go, go. Okay. And that makes up another number code. The red.
We have to find this A-locomotive. We have to enter all the numbers here. Yeah, I think so. There are some numbers written everywhere.
Do we split up?. Sure, right? We’ll leave the pen here. Yes. We can hear you. When you have found out what you needed to find out, then bring the plan to me, okay? Our adventurers have to identify four trains and find the numbers assigned to them.
Those they enter into the fields and that gives them a four-digit number, that will hopefully open the lock on Leopold’s door. But which trains are they? Yes, there was one here. Two, zero, six, five. Two, zero, six, five.
I’ll put it in. What are you looking for? I have the RHB. Ah, I’m going there. What did you have? Hornbach.
Okay, then I’ll do Hornbach. Pen, okay. But it doesn’t fit. There is another steam locomotive. Okay.
Shit. RHB car... Seven, three...
Careful. Woah, those two were just here. I’ll stay here.
Fuck, there must be another steam locomotive. Where did you find RHB? I found that one too. What is that? Do you have the RHB? Yes, we already have it. Lötschberg, I know where it is.
I can’t find the second steam locomotive. The steam locomotive? There’s one here, but it’s not the one. I’m not going to just stand here.
Where is Annika? I’m totally nuts. Hey, hey. You don’t have anything? What is it? What? I almost got caught. Is this a damn steam locomotive too? That doesn’t work. The last number.
Oh. Hello. Can you hear me? Yes, we hear you. This is a steam locomotive. Something in me is telling me, that something is wrong with the second number.
You should check that again. Second train number. Second train number? For which train? Did you notice that there are several steam locomotives here? I think you have to go to the one near me. The one right next to me. There’s definitely a steam locomotive right above us.
Alright. When you have the number, come to me as fast as you can. Okay? Come to me as fast as you can when you have the number. In the end we had everything we needed, except for this one damn steam locomotive, that we looked for forever.
Hey. Don’t snap your fingers. The number. The number. That’s the steam locomotive. It is not.
That’s the steam locomotive. Safe? Yes. It was right above us. Did you hear that? Something’s coming. This sucks. We have to get back.
It says 2965, does that fit? Not really. Because it has to have a three in the end, or what? Yeah, but it doesn’t matter. It he says that’s it, then that’s it. Right? Now I know how you can get me out of here. That’s the 2965.
Come to me. Come to me as fast as you can. 2965. 2965. Oh, sorry. Guys, are you leaving me behind or what? Come to me. Quick.
Do you have the code? It only says 2965. Yes. Yes, where is Annika? Okay. We’ll get on our way. Then we can pick up Annika right away. We’ll take all these with us.
I have... Ah, perfect. Do we have all the keys? Well, I’ve got three. Three? One is missing. Ah, okay.
Don’t do things like that, oh my God. Quickly, let’s go to him. Shit, I can’t see anything. Yes. Good. Should I take that? Okay, okay.
Down here, down here, down here. Where to? One of them is coming. Okay. They are over the shock of last night’s chase, and today they are headed for the mountains.
At least the weather seems to be on their side and they can enjoy the first view of the day. Engelberg-Titlis is a big winter and summer destination in central Switzerland. The surrounding scenery is dominated by the 3,239 meter peak of Titlis with its glacier, as well as the 2,600 meter Hahnen peak. There’s a lake.
Ah, swimming. Oh, please no. I’d rather be climbing, heights again. How quickly you can walk around a lake.
Wow. I think I have my 10,000 steps for today. Around to the right, no? Ooooh. Here you are.
Thank you. Tea. A bottle.
I suppose I should open it first of all, right? And of course there’s a note in here. Anything else? No, that’s it... Maybe we should keep the bottle. We might need it again.
Should I pack it anyway? And a map. Of course, a map. Is this the lake? This is the lake right here. Yes, that’s the start of the pier. In the lake? In the lake. Oh, that’s my job.
That pipe there? There are red... Yes. This is another sick challenge. Yes. Then there’s something in front of the hut too. Looks that way.
Yes. How can you read that map so quickly? Is there a cross or something somewhere? Do we see a cross anywhere? Yeah, there’s probably a cross on the peak. Up there.
Up there, yes. I’d say, one of us will have to climb here today. And somebody has to get in the water. I think I’ve done enough climbing. Not that I feel like getting in the water, but I really don’t feel like any more climbing.
I noticed too, that Sabrina was really in the mood for jumping into this icy lake. So of course I let her do it. So you don’t feel like doing anything. You can go over there...
You can do the easiest job. Could I get a coffee? But there might be a few spiders. I’d say let’s do that first. Let’s get the things first, right? But that’s the... That’s probably the cross up there. Yeah, I think so too.
I feel like doing that. So you two want to... Are you keen on climbing? I’m keen on climbing.
I’m in too. Okay. Oh, you and me again. And you? You have fun. We’ll go get the climbing gear now.
And then we’re going up there. We’ll scramble up. I just really felt like climbing. And since I didn’t win at the climbing park, the challenge, I had some catching up to do. For me, it’s the water, and for you, it’s the other side of the lake.
So are we even going to see each other? Are you going to wait here or what? I’ll get withdrawals. I think I’m going to miss you. Okay. Off we go. Come here. Everything looks really harmonious there, between us.
But then towards the end of the day that changed a little bit. While Miss Outdoor hears the call of the wild and heads for the cold mountain lake, Niko and Annika are climbing high to the top of the climbing route. Good. I’d say it’s 11 degrees. Hurry up, I’m a little cold. Oh! You’re doing great! What is that? It’s through.
Super! Quick, get back in. What should I bring back? What? What else should I bring back? Just the bottle for now. I love this! I’m going to feel so good in a few minutes.
That’s nice... Look back. Look at that.
This really is steep. Above the paraglider. It was definitively physically exhausting, but it was so much fun, to experience climbing that way. I think Annika and I both found a new hobby.
Come on, you get to do it. You do the honors. Don’t tear it up. It’s wet.
Got a little wet. Caves. We’re going into a cave. Oh my God, how sick is that? Okay, nice! I’ll get dressed quickly. And then we’re off. Cave.
Then we still have to go over there. Do you want to get dressed and I’ll go get that quickly? Yes. Then I’ll run and get the bottle.
I think I see it already. The climbing park yesterday was nothing. That was absolutely embarrassing. Here I really don’t know. Huh? Woah, that was a strange spot just now.
Okay. Sabrina! It was almost as hard as your challenge. Yeah, yeah. Let’s not forget how exhausting that was too. While Sabrina just had to hop into that cold puddle, I had to run all the way around it once. And get that bottle down...
And, how hard was it? So hard. You had to sacrifice yourself, ey? You were so lucky you didn’t have to do that. Yeah, that was really hard. I believe you. That was really tough. I’m so out of breath.
Yeah, yeah. And, what’s in it? A short note. Caves. “Only two of you. Get to this point immediately.”
Lukas and Sabrina follow the coordinates they found in the bottle, while Niko and Annika are still busy climbing the mountain. Their trail leads them to a hill in Interlaken, where they will have a surprising encounter. No! Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no.
The one GoPro goes on my bill. It came loose from the helmet. I bumped into the cliff with it. And then all we saw was the GoPro disappearing all the way down into the valley.
Sabrina, I have a dark premonition. I don’t see a cave either. Unfortunately, I don’t see a cave either. But I see... Who is he? ... somebody sitting back there. Hello. Hello.
Do we need to see you? Finally, there you are. Yeah, took a little... Took a while, right? Our first time reading coordinates.
Do you know who I am? Charlie. Charlie. Hello. Hi. Of course, I’ve had an eye on you the whole time. You had no idea, you didn’t know it.
But I keep a close eye on what happens on your end. And why did I bring you here? We’re only here for a short time. Just a few minutes for a secret meeting, because you have a problem that you don’t know about yet. I have to give you some warning. Not everybody is playing it the way you might think. So you have to keep your eyes open a little more.
I knew it, Niko is a rat. You have to check who might be fooling you and who isn’t. And all I can tell you now: I warned you, you have to be watchful.
And we have to get back down quickly. The others shouldn’t notice that you were gone. Of course we were a bit confused who he was talking about. And who might not be playing honestly. And of course, our first suspicion was Annika and Niko.
We don’t tell them that we saw you? No, under no circumstances. Are you crazy? Oh God, oh God. Charlie, nobody saw Charlie. Remember that, you are chatty.
And we have to get back down quickly. I have organized pilots for you. Helmet on and have a good flight. Hi. Oh no. I think we’re flying.
There’s one thing I hate: Heights. One thing. And the last two days... As high as we can get. Didn’t you say you don’t want to climb anymore because it’s too high for you? Sabrina... I think it’s awesome, I look forward to it. But what...?
We’re going to have to work that out. That we can’t trust them. That shocks me a little. Traitors, we didn’t expect that. Not at all. That cuts deep. But ok.
So, I think... Yes. Down. When we met Charlie up there, it was clear relatively quickly, the only way, down that mountain is to jump down. And of course I didn’t like that at all.
Yeah, awesome. Wow, this is so awesome. We’re flying. Looks great, doesn’t it? Higher than it looks from up there.
Yes. Yeah, you’re still holding on tight, but you can spread your arms. I don’t think so. Shit! Come here, Bro! Hey, this is so shitty. You made it.
Ey, those curves, I really... Will you do that a third time? Ok, now... Now that’s enough. Even in front of the cameras: That was the last goddamn time, that I climb out of a harness. And this time I mean it.
Was awesome, wasn’t it? Yes. First I have to breathe. Got to come down. No joke, I thought that was so awesome, man.
This is the best job. Thanks, Charlie. Charlie. Shit.
Shit. Not a word. You survived.
Yeah, shit! Hello! Nice to see you again. You’re still alive. You survived. We survived, ok.
You didn’t fall off. Did anything unusual happen? Anything? What did you find out? What did you do? What did you find? We found a note that we should come to you. Then we’re just missing the one note.
The one note said “Caves.” The other note had coordinates. Yeah, “St. Beatus.”
Oh, we still have coordinates. We were told we shouldn’t trust everybody that seems to be cooperating with us, that seems to be on our side. I took that seriously.
Because I thought Annika and Niko must be up to something. They probably saw something up on their mountain, that they don’t want to tell us about. That stirred some suspicion between us. Our clue was “St. Beatus.”
Our clue was “Caves.” They are next to one another. Well, then, vamos a la cave.
Exactly. Off we go. Lets go. What direction? Through the grass? No. That way.
Okay. The St. Beatus caves are among the ten largest caves in Switzerland and one of the few that are open to the public. The extensive cave system has been explored to a depth of 14 kilometers. One kilometer is secured for visitors.
By now we had gone through cities, over mountains, swam in lakes, we had been everywhere in Switzerland. It was only the caves we hadn’t yet been to. That’s where we went now. Amazing. This is beautiful.
My first impression was: it’s really tight in here. I had to duck my head the whole time. Cold. Really cold. Can’t hear a word. I’m not doing any more ice swimming today.
So you’ve made it this far, despite all the obstacles on this day. That was a great performance, I have to give you that. I especially liked the little chase among the old trains.
In fact, I didn’t think you’d make it. I am impressed by your courage, but now it’s time for another test. You are at the end of the cave, and my people have blocked the entrance.
But if you solve the puzzle of the cave, you’ll find something helpful inside this bag. Maybe you’ll find your way out into the open. Search the cave for the notes and reveal its secret. “You will receive my name at the end of a successful mission. Good luck.”
I said that earlier as a joke. How funny would it be if... No. I don’t find you funny at all. You can’t be fucking serious.
