At the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne, our adventurers had to master the most exhausting and exciting challenge yet. When they had finally made it, they were glad to get a good night’s rest until the next morning when they took a trip to Engelberg. There, for the first time they had to split into two teams for a longer period.
Lukas and Sabrina stayed at the Herzlisee lake to get a bottle out of the cold water, while Niko and Annika tackled the climb to the peak. As team 1 finished much sooner, they followed the clue in one of the bottles. The clue took them to Interlaken on a remote hilltop, where they were surprised to meet Charlie.
He told them that there is something going very wrong behind the scenes and there seems to be sabotage within their own ranks. From then on, Sabrina und Lukas trusted nobody, not even their own teammates. To get back on track and catch up, they had to take a ride into the valley with a paraglider, where they met up with Niko and Annika.
Together they went on to the St. Beatus cave. They were led nearly a kilometer into the cave system, when the lights went out and they were trapped. Nooo! I don’t find you funny at all. You can’t be fucking serious.
Yo! No. What do we do now? Can somebody feel their way to the bag? I quit. Can somebody? So, I thought they were having a little fun with us. This is funny for ten minutes. Ha, ha, the lights are out.
You’re staying in the cave. And then somehow nobody came and resolved the prank. Okay, so. Letter. Are you all by the bag? Yes.
Okay. There’s something underneath the bag. Under the bag? Can we reach under the bag? I have something too. Oh, shit. Okay, yo.
That makes it a lot less spooky in this cave. Yeah, at least that. We’re not going to die blind. Okay.
I’m getting hot right now. This makes me... I freeze when I’m nervous. We have to find the scraps. Ah, ok. Do you have something already? Yeah, yeah. What does it look like? Like this.
Ah, okay, okay, okay. Let’s see what it says. Before we maybe... Those are tent tarps. We’ll build our own tent now. Oh. Oh, okay, it really is just a scrap.
That’s our ground cloth that we’ll lie on, so we don’t get wet. Oh my God. You’re right. That’s what they meant by scraps. I thought it would say something. Oh I see, oh my God.
And we have to find some kind of numbers code too. Maybe the others will say something. This is weird. Yes, we walked out relatively slowly. We knew right away that the last person walking all the way in the back will have to search everything again, because we didn’t feel like covering the whole way more than once.
This is so hard-nosed, somehow. Are you looking, Lukas? Yeah, I’m looking all around and complaining at the same time. The way you can see your breath in here. I’m getting dizzy with this headlamp.
Oh my God. Remember to look down below too. Yes. I bet we walked by 23 of them already. Got it! You just walked right past one.
Yeah, that’s what I was about to say. Oh my God. This is really making me happy. Should I take it? Maybe we can just rush through quickly. Do you happen to have a code, in case I want to order one? We have five now, right? Well, let’s wait.
The scraps are just lying on the ground today. Ah, here. I am so in focus mode. Me too. What’s this here? I thought you’d walk past it again.
That was close. Everybody say how many you have. I have two.
I gave mine to Niko. Four. The one you actually found. No, just kidding. Do you have one, Lukas? No. How many do you have? I have one. Then we have seven altogether.
Something gross is dripping down my neck, what’s that about? Eight. That’s more than half already. Totally cool. But we have another corridor. How nice.
More flashlights. Ah, very good. Oh, no.
Oh, black light! We’ll use that to look for the numbers we need for the locker. Yeah, yeah. The question is where, because this cave is not exactly small. Does anybody else want a blue light lamp? Maybe on the letter we got? Did anyone bring the letter? Yes.
Should we check that first? Who says I don’t keep track of my notes. Yeah, I take it all back. All taken back. Cancel all statements. You’re a little proud, right? Yeah, I actually am.
Nothing. Well, it was worth a try. Not on the other side either? Or maybe if we lay out the tarps and get them in the right order, maybe then we’ll see something. Yeah, I think so too. What is your idea of an ideal date? Solving puzzles in a cave. With four people.
In this ice cave. I think you have to go diving again. No, absolutely not. I’ve done that job already today.
Not really. I think that was the end, guys. We still have a second corridor. That could very well be. Maybe that letter says: “You’ve really earned a reward. I booked a 5-star resort for you,” all relaxed and generous.
Hey, guys, did somebody lose one? Or why is there one on the ground? Probably. Well, great.</> Good thing you’re thinking. Super, Niko. But it was probably me.
It was Niko. Yes. So we’re missing one now, right? Yes. We know what we’re looking for now. I’ll put them down here. Yeah, okay, let’s put them together and maybe Sabrina can...
One person can go search again. You put it together and I’ll take another look, okay? Okay. We can put the edge pieces...
Exactly. I think... Crap. That’s not an edge.
Yeah, okay, then... good. Okay, lights out. Oh, look.
Yes. Cool. Cool, Sabrina.
“There once lived...” “There lived...” That fits over there. This one fits. Right? “There lived?” Here. “... a dragon.”
I just realized I suck at jigsaw puzzles. Here, that one belongs here. “There once lived a dragon.” “But then,” that’s further down.
Yeah, that fits. Pull that out from under there, please. This one? Yeah, perfect. I have a feeling this could fit here. Maybe I’m wrong.
No, no, this one goes here. “Put the village in fear and terror.” I really don’t feel like a horror story right now.
Excellent. “Put the village in fear and terror. But then St. Beatus came to the valley and...” “Climbed.” “... climbed the mountain in three days. But in the night, he was woken by two glowing red eyes...”
The important part is missing. I’m just joking. “Beatus startled and slew the monster in seven...”
So, just put the numbers in the number lock. “Then St. Beatus came to the valley.” “There once lived a dragon.”
“In THREE days.” One, three, two, seven. I would really love it if this works. Its open. Oh my God.
This makes me so happy, I can’t put it into words. Excellent, guys. I would high-five you, but I can’t see you. Yeah, you think we can manage to slap this time? No.
It keeps getting worse. That was my face. Better leave it. We can use our lamp again too...
I really want to know what’s in there. They really are sleeping bags. Sleeping bags and camping mats. Those are really thick sleeping bags.
When we opened the bag, we found sleeping bags and camping mats. And at that moment we knew: we’re sleeping in the cave tonight. We need a knife. I have one with me. Sabrina put that into my hand. I think I lost my knife.
I have one too. So this ground isn’t quite flat. This is going to suck. We won’t be able to sleep all night, if we keep thinking we’re going to roll away. Then we have to sleep with our heads at the top, and the rest... All the way in the corner. It really is sloped.
But ok. We just made the best of it. It was another little team evening for us. As level as possible.
We’ll just have to lie down and test it. Pump up the mats, put the sleeping bags on them. And then good night. Are these self-inflatable things? Or do we really have to blow in them? There’s something to step on. Then they pump themselves up.
I just don’t know where at the moment. Here, look. Are there instructions? At the head end, you have a... Yeah, exactly, that’s what you have to step on. Nothing is happening. This is the well-known Swiss folk dance.
I don’t know what Lukas is doing. I don’t know. He just didn’t figure the whole thing out. There’s no air going in mine at all. Lukas.
Well, I’m not stupid. I’m just pushing on the thing. Did you open the other valve? No. Okay. Yes. Are you kidding me? Why is air going in when you do it? Because I’m stepping on it. It doesn’t work as well with your hands.
That makes no sense. Yes it does. Yes it does. That makes no sense.
Why does air go in when I push with my foot, but not when I push with my hands? That makes no sense. No pump works that way. Can somebody explain to me physically, why your feet pump air in there and your hands don’t? Because with your foot you close the thing and then you push the air in. You hold it closed. Otherwise you push the air back out. Oh, you have to close off the hole.
Yes. That would have been the easiest explanation. Something’s dripping on you.
You have to move over here a little. Gracias. Oh, no! Oh, Lukas.
Now I really don’t want to do this anymore. Beginner’s mistake. This is shitty. No. But hey, we have pillows on the camping mats.
Honestly guys, isn’t this comfortable? No. I’m really not getting into this anymore. I see water dripping up there. It’s dripping in our faces. Oh yes.
I see it too. Look, there he is, the little one. Isn’t this mega stupid? What is? All my stuff is already wet. There’s high humidity in here. The sleeping bag is going to absorb the moisture. We’re not going to sleep for one second in here.
Yes we will. But we’ll hear noises, you can get ready for that. What is? Yes, Lukas all night long, trying to pump up his mat. Woah, Lukas, I think you should rethink your idea of an outdoor channel if you can’t handle a camping mat.
Guys, I swear to you, it’s broken. This is not me. Say, are you sweating? No, leave me alone just for a second. I just can’t take it anymore.
It definitely wasn’t me. That much is certain. There must have been something wrong with the mat, something maybe went wrong during production, but it wasn’t me.
I think... Yeah, that’s enough. It’s okay? Do you even fit on it? No, I think my feet are hanging off. I’m completely... Oh my God. I’m going to get so sick tomorrow. I can feel it already.
Turn in a doctor’s note. Woah, this is sick. I think it’s awesome. I really think it’s cool, it’ll be great.
Good for you. It was cold, it was dark, it was dripping. It was damp, there were strange sounds in every corner. It really was a cave. But I have to say, I slept well.
It may even have been one of my best nights, I have to honestly say, the fresh air, the dripping all around, I found it almost therapeutic. That was another nice team experience too. We had a lot of fun together. It’s hard to believe, but after those few days we were already kind of a unit. Oh no, guys! The night in the cave was not enough to throw them off track, although their backs will probably be a little stiffer today.
After the entrance to the cave was opened again, their next clue led them to the historic center of Bern. The Bern region is in the West of Switzerland. The city of Bern is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site and the seat of the Swiss government. Bern offers a charming, medieval atmosphere, with countless fountains, sandstone facades, alleyways and historic towers.
Dear Team, I got a call from someone named Thomas Eichler. The man apparently thought he could play tricks on you these last days. Even though he voluntarily shared some of his wealth with you, I don’t trust him. He seems to think this will get him off the hook. We should take a closer look at him.
Welcome to Bern. At the OnTap bar, you should order a cool refreshment first. I heard the drink called “The Crossover Episode” is supposed to be really good. “Cheers, Charlie.”
Crossover Episode. Crossover Episode. At the OnTap bar. Right in this bar.
Okay, then let’s go in, right? We’re going in. I’m pretty thirsty. Head. I feel right at home.
Mhm. Oh no. There’s something for us already. Okay, so what do we have here? We have a sword, two children, a bear, a feather and that looks like a flute. Or something.
What can we do with that? I suggest we order the “Crossover Episode”. Yes, good idea. The first clue in Bern was that we have to go to this bar.
I thought that was great. And we did go in there and order a beer. You have really sweaty hands. Very good. Look, they’re shiny.
Oh, wonderful. That’s the normal one. Thanks very much. Thank you.
Thank you. Those are shots. Thank you. We have five empty glasses.
Five numbers. Thank you. “Oh noble traveler on your journey Be wise about Bern’s wells of wisdom 11 fountains are in this city But only five hold the truth Collect the water in clear vials From those wells that bear the knowledge At the fountain of justice, find the core Where a scale is lifting the high star Fill your vial with this clear water That always surrounds law and truth A monster devours the tender child Find the water that flows in the shadows.” We definitely have to find the fountains... We have to find something with water. ... and fill the vials with water there. Before I read the whole chapter of Goethe’s Faust.
In this challenge they are pressed for time and they have to travel the greatest distances. They have to use the poem and the map to find out which fountains are important for solving the puzzle. When they have found the right fountain, they have to fill a small glass vial with the water. Then they still have to find a number, by counting the matching objects on the box in the fountain’s images. With the right number combination they can open the box and with the mixed water samples from the fountains, they have to get to the Zyt bell tower in the heart of the old town center before it closes. We have to read a map again and get to these...
What are those? Five, no? We’re here. We’re on Rathausstraße. There’s one at the end of the alley. Over here to the right there’s one. Yes, and that... Oh God, Charlie.
Leo. Yes, we can hear you. Okay, very good. So you got out of the cave ok. Listen, we’re a little pressed for time, we have to hurry.
The bell ringer you are supposed to give the bottle to, is not very patient. You understand? Do you have everything you need?. Yes. We’re ready. Good. Then read what you have to read along the way.
Time is short, you hear me? Alright, we’re on our way. So, where is the first fountain? Kreuzgasse. Oh noble traveler on your journey Be wise about Bern’s wells of wisdom The first problem was finding the fountains and identifying that it was the right fountain, that we take the right water from the fountain and that we don’t mix something up, confuse something.
And there I had another little spat with Annika. That’s a fountain, but not ours. But that doesn’t count. Pan flute! That’s a flute. That totally is a flute.
But it’s not on the map. The fountain is in a completely different... But Kreuz-... Are you absolutely sure? This isn’t the first... This here is Rathausgasse. There’s more than five fountains in Bern.
“A piper sings with a happy sound, his song is known, for ages.” We can still just dump it out. Let’s take a vial and otherwise dump it, no? Yes.
That would be really stupid if we... “Collect the water that carries his melody, that stirs joy and harmony in the heart.” But if there’s nothing even in Rathausgasse, then it doesn’t make sense. There is no cross in Rathausgasse. What about this one? It’s in between.
Yes, exactly, it’s over there on the right. But this one here is in between. That’s the alley on the right.
We can come by here on the way back. Take it for now. But that goes to the right too. That’s this side entrance. That is not Kreuzgasse. Okay, so... I hope you’re right, Annika.
Annika leads the way. And she was right in the end, that actually made me mad. 11 fountains are in this city But only five hold the truth At the fountain of justice, find the core Where a scale is lifting the high star Two, three... No, that’s a cross.
Two swords. Three, okay. Okay, three. Then the first symbol is... No, which one is the sword?
The first. So that’s a three. The fountains were spread out all over the city. A warrior, brave with spear and shield In Ryffli’s honor he defends the scene. There’s a bear by his leg and a bear on the flag.
Ha. Okay. So is that a two? I think so. And two swords.
Time was against us. A monster devours the tender child Find the water that flows in the shadows. Eight. Do you have seven or eight? Eight. Eight? Okay. Sabrina, did you put down the eight? I have eight too. So we counted eight several times.
A piper sings with a happy sound His song is known for ages. Okay. One, two, three... What are we counting? Yes. One, two, three...
You didn’t count the bagpipes twice, did you? No, no. Okay. Well, I’d say three, right? Yes.
One, two... We were glad when we finally reached the last fountain and knew, okay, it’s finally done, because we had no more strength and above all, no more time. Because we had to get to the bell tower. Yes, it’s opening. Okay, let's go. We know how to count.
A bottle. Do we have to pour all this together now? Everything into the bottle? Everything into the bottle. One last sip.
Niko, now it’s your... Okay. And go. Quickly to the... To the tower.
To the tower. Hurry, hurry. We have to hurry.
Right? Yes. There’s the door. Are you coming in? Yes. We barely made it to the bell tower in time. How much longer do we have? I’m a little bit scared.
Hi. Is that a statue? He’s moving. Hi. What are you giving to us? Aha.
Are we leaving now? We’re supposed to leave. Ciao. Thank you.
The contents of the bottle made everyone cheerful that evening, while the label offered the only clue for their next destination. The address of the vineyard. But is that really where the next puzzle is waiting? Or was it just a regular label and they are missing something? The Vaud canton is located in the region of Lake Geneva and stretches from the Jura region to the Vaud Alps, along many lakes that blend with the charms of the scenery. The vineyard Domaine de Bovy lies idyllically in a wine growing region and the UNESCO World Heritage site Lavaux is on Lake Geneva. The picture is on here. Indeed.
That’s the picture on the box. Yeah, on the bottle I mean. Ah, okay. Is that the same picture? No, it’s a little different. But the same style. Looks really similar.
That means we have to find four numbers. Should we look around this place first? Yes, I’d say so. Should we take the box... What are we looking for? We’ll see it soon enough.
Do you want to take the box, should we leave it here? There are numbers on these barrels. And lots of pictures. And spooky music. Should we maybe...
Do a folk dance? Yeah. But on the wine bottles... There were four wine bottles up there. What pictures were on them? Do they match the pictures on the barrels? They just showed towns.
Oh. Why is he chuckling? Somehow, this all seems kind of... This music must mean something. It’s Irish music. Or maybe somebody on the pictures is dancing.
Oh my God. Yes. Woah, Niko. That’s what I just said.
It’s alright. Maybe something with a... What’s it called, a fiddle? Exactly. But there was fiddle music alright.
There’s people making music here, I think. No, no. Nothing fiddly here.
It could be this one. But there are people singing too. Here are...
Okay. Here is an entire brass band. Yes, it could be him. Up here. Which one? This is party music too, isn’t it? Yeah, true, there’s music playing.
Three. The first number is three. Maybe. I think that’s really farfetched, to be honest. This method. And there was a horse that neighed next. Yeah, well, we have to start somewhere... Three, five.
But the three, that could be it. It fits the music. I don’t think it’s dumb. There’s a horse noise in between. Five.
Those are horses. Hey, wait a second. Those are horses. I think the idea with the music is really... It does have something to do with the music. I think so too, it’s... Here there’s people playing music.
Three. There’s a five with the horses. That’s next. And then there’s a scream in there, isn’t there? He’s chuckling.
Somebody’s chuckling. Who’s that chuckling? Who is chuckling here? Well, listen and look. He’s chuckling, but I don’t think it’s him. He’s chuckling too. But it must be someone who is actively chuckling.
Proactively going into chuckling. There’s just one going like this. What about these two, they’re totally drunk coming out of the bar? But one is 12. That doesn’t fit. They’re chuckling.
But that doesn’t fit. They’re absolutely chuckling. But that doesn’t fit.
Then we’re still looking for an owl. We first looked at the big pictures. But then we understood that it was about the symbols on the barrels. There’s an owl. Where? Really? You got it? Really? Oh, guys, really.
Excellent. There are owls. Then maybe eight. So three, five, eight. Three. So number one, the music. Three. What comes next?
Maybe five with the horse. But there are horses here too. Fiddle, three. What is next? It really could be about these animals too. Yeah, there are horses on here too. I bet there’s an owl there somewhere too.
The owl is back there. On those things? Yeah, so that’s it, right? Okay, owl. Number two was? What number is the owl? Eight. Okay, three, eight. What is next? Dog.
Dog. Dog, sit! Look at the things on the bottom too. It’s always the same symbol.
Top and bottom. No, that’s not it. Are you looking for the dog back there? There can be animals shown on here too. Horse. And a horse. That’s the last one, then. Okay, three, eight.
Three, eight, five. We still need the dog. Where is the dog? Dog, sit! Here’s a wolf, dog, dog. Nine. Do you have a dog? Nine. Is there a dog? Yes.
Where? Up there. Okay, very good. Or is that a hare? Holy shit, could be. No, it’s a wolf... Dog, that is a dog. Yes, that is a dog. That is for sure a dog.
Maybe it’s a dog. That is a dog. That is a dog. Wait, that could be a horse too, right? Yeah, I think we need to look at the symbols up there. We just need the symbols.
Yes. Yes, that means we have three. No, we don’t. Then let’s look again. What are we missing then? We have everything, don’t we. But then it’s just about the animals.
Probably yes. Yeah, yeah. Number one: owl. Eight, ah, nine.
Eight. Sorry. I dreamt about that song afterwards. That was playing for quite a while. How do you do that dance? Dog. Dog! That’s the? Nine.
Nine? So eight, nine. Eight, nine. Horse. Six. Eight, nine, six.
Eight, nine, six. And owl again, right? No. The first animal sounds we got relatively quickly.
Only the last one gave us problems, until somebody had the idea: Hey, that’s water. There were fish here somewhere. Here. One. No, fish are back there.
Eight, nine, six, one. One. Here are the fish. Was it a four-digit code? Yeah, four, sorry. Eight, nine, six, one. Vamos. Okay.
Now what was it? Eight, nine, six, one. Don’t anybody say I’m no good at this. Now it’s wrong. Yes.
Yeah, awesome. That was the fastest we ever solved a puzzle. I don’t know about that, but we made it anyway. Does somebody want to open it? Wow. A letter.
A letter. There’s only one letter in that whole box? Yes. So, “Congratulations. You’ve proven very successful. That’s why I am inviting you to my castle called Chillon.” Oh, a castle.
“I took the liberty of preparing a little victory party for us. After such an eventful trip, you must look forward to a relaxing evening with captivating conversation. See you soon.” But it doesn’t say “Charlie”.
Who is that? Charlie. But Charlie always said the other times... We don’t want to be on the wrong track... What if we are being lured someplace. I bet that’s a trap, stop, wait. Exactly, it’s a trap.
Charlie always writes that it’s him. “Captivating conversation.” I just got goosebumps.
Imagine we end up all cuffed up. What? Can you say that in German? Imagine we’re held captive. “Cuffed up” sounds cooler. Yeah, kind of. What’s the name of the castle? Chillon. Oh, he said something in French.
He’s not saying much today, but what he says has substance. The first word he’s said in this episode. “Chillon”.
Come on, let’s get captured. Let’s just go to that castle. Come on, off we go. This is great.
Please. With an annoying song in their heads they now know their next destination: Chillon Castle. But on the way there they have to kill a little time and are again invited by their new benefactor Mr. Eichler to a waterski trip in Estavayer. Since the rope climbing park was so entertaining, they can now have another competition against one another.
The canton of Fribourg is in western Switzerland and is known for its two languages. The west speaks French; the east speaks German. Our participants have to go up against one another again. Again, the goal is to have the best time at the end.
They have three rounds each to get the best possible time on the skis. Miss Outdoor. The one who stands upright the longest at the end of three rounds wins the challenge. The losers, however, agree to accept a special task from Mr. Eichler. To tell their heroic tale. Whatever that means.
I do feel like it. But the thing is, I think we’ve all noticed by now that balance is not my thing. That’s not my strong suit.
But I do feel like it. In theory. I really feel like it. I’ve never done it,
so I have no expectations of myself. That means it can only be a lot of fun. I really feel like it. It is a little windy. And I think none of us has ever been wakeboarding or waterskiing. I’m also a really, really bad skier.
I can’t wait to see how we do. So we're doing a full round. Arms straight, okay? Bend the knees. You want to go first, to show everyone, right? Annika goes first. I’ll show you how it’s done.
Oh my God. Yeah! Man, that looks really good. Right there I was sure that Annika would definitely be the best, because she just got on those water skis and just rode around, like it was the most normal thing in the world, like she does it every day. And she set a good time to beat for us, that would be hard to top.
She’s going to do circles for 60 minutes. Yeah, I think so too. She’s not going to fall off at all. Where is Annika? Huh? I think we lost Annika somewhere back there. The thing is, if Niko can do it, we can too.
Oh my God. It looks hard. But he’s up. Almost. Ah, okay. Okay, honestly, I’m not even going to get that far. Oh, Miss Outdoor.
This is shitty. Ok, whatever I just told you, I take it back. I’m a little more afraid than excited. Three, two, one, go.
Annika took such a clear lead in the first round, that it will be hard for the others, to catch up in the next two rounds. Or will Annika use the second round to make her lead even bigger? Woah, that’s really exhausting. I mean, I think it’s great that we’re doing something sporty now.
But that was really hard. I think I have a cramp here in my arm. You don’t know exactly when it will start. Then the countdown starts. And it yanks you away. You have no chance to stay standing up.
I don’t know how Miss Zion did it. But I don’t think I’m getting anywhere today. What is it like when you fall? Ah, I didn’t even get it. The first shoe went, then the other shoe and I just kept hanging on and had them drag me through the water. Actually, I thought the whole time ok, it’s over.
I think I was screaming the entire time. Oh, Niko. Oh, he’s standing! Was standing. Was standing. I’m going to do a whole round. Woah, great, great.
Now if somebody gets further than me, I’ll have to go again. Hi! That was really fun once you’ve made it that far. You really just have to follow instructions and stay down and then, when you’re steady, come up slowly. Amazing.
Extend your arms, extend your arms! He is so... “Extend your arms!” Did I make it to six seconds? Yes. Almost nine. Almost nine! Don’t talk me down. Nine seconds. Now it’s all down to the last round.
Will everything change at the last minute again? Or can Annika hold on to her lead and come out the winner? We already know that we shouldn’t underestimate Lukas’ competitiveness. It turned out that Annika is pretty good, Sabrina is pretty good, Lukas not so much. I knew, I’m not getting better. So all I wanted was to get on that ramp. I see already, I have no chance against Annika. She’s doing circles.
So I’m going to do something different. It was easy to see, skis aren’t working out. I’m trying something different. And after that, I’ll try a jet ski. Niko! If you make it further than me, I’ll give it to you. Three, two, one, jump.
What’s he doing now? But Lukas... Is he doing the disc? ... is highly motivated, ey? They recommended that I use this disc, because it’s much easier, works much better. And I even asked if I have to somehow jump, if I have to do anything. “No, no, no.”
Look what I found. I bet that will be much easier. It pulled me right out of my socks.
I have no words. The board somehow just stayed on the ground. And I went flying.
The result is clear. Annika has taken first place, followed by Sabrina. Far behind are Niko and Lukas. So it is clear that those two will get a special task in this story and have to help Eichler. But it is not clear what that means. Before they take the invitation for the evening, they treat themselves to a meal at the wonderful lake Schwarzsee.
At a mountain hut, they enjoy a classic cheese fondue. The Schwarzsee is a lake of about 0.5 square kilometers in the Swiss canton of Freiburg in the Freiburg foothills. The region is known for its untouched scenery and the wild and romantic natural backdrop around the mountain lake. Chillon Castle, situated in Veytaux near Montreux is the most-visited building in Switzerland.
The castle has sat on a rocky island for nearly a thousand years. This fortress is a true treasure of the past. The water castle took its current shape in the 13th and 14th centuries.
Rustic, I’d say. Yes, there he comes. Hello. There you are. I am glad you made it here.
That you were able to follow Charlie’s invitation. I hope the last few days weren’t too exhausting for you. Today was ok. Today was super. You know, Charlie was a bit strange the past few days, but I probably shouldn’t even talk about that. Would you follow me? Off we go. Yeah, sure? Why is he strange now? Leopold is always a little strange and distracted, but that day we all got a really strange vibe from him.
You see, what I’m trying to say is that I found some strange things. Maybe I shouldn’t have been snooping around so much. I’ll tell you everything else upstairs, ok? Okay. Welcome to Charlie’s humble abode.
Come over here a little more. I don’t know how to tell you this, but I may not have been completely honest with you. Well great. It’s like this... I have prepared something here. It’s almost like the first time we met. A map. And I marked something for you.
Listen, I’m not allowed to talk about it. But I saw Charlie collecting some strange boxes and hiding them all over the castle. I’m sure it’s nothing, but I can’t get it out of my mind. You have to find out what is going on, okay? There are six altogether. I marked the positions for you here on the map. We are in room no. 18. There are three in this direction. And there are also three boxes in that direction over there. Okay?
But they’re not just sitting around, or else I could have taken them myself. Charlie has his security people guarding the boxes. These are not people like the ones you met at the museum. These are professionals. Do you understand what I mean? If they see you, they will pursue you mercilessly. You have to think of some way to distract them.
I was able to get these things for you. They’re egg timers. You can set the timer, and they’ll go after it. When the timers go off, the guards hear it and move towards the noise. That will be your chance to grab the box. Okay.
They only let these boxes out of their sights for a short time. That means this is your only option. Either that or one of you sacrifices themselves. Okay? When you have used a timer, then that is your only chance with that timer. The security people will take them.
They’re not going to fall for the same trick twice. If you run out of timers, there is one other option, that one of you tries to lure the guards to them. But if they catch you, then at least that person that they catch is busted. Good. I thought about how we can do this the smart way.
It would be good if we send two of you together in that direction and two of you together in that direction. Okay? That way you’re not alone. You have one extra pair of eyes.
I suggest you do it quietly and take a good look at the surroundings, before you go deeper into the room. Okay. This map, you’ll need it.
Maybe you should look at it beforehand, ok? Can’t we take it with us? Can’t I have the other one? No, no, that one’s for me. That one is for me. Oh, ok. You can remember the rooms, it’s not that complicated. Take another look. Okay, I can remember that.
But the position of the security guards could be a clue for you where they are. Do you two want to? We’ll go in there. You go in there and we’ll go in here. I was really looking forward to this game. The rules alone. I thought, ok, this is going to my moment. Now I can shine, I know how to move fast.
I love that kind of tension. Girls, ready? Right. Did you notice, we only have two timers, right? You jumped ahead in line. The participants split up into two teams, each team collects the packages in one wing of the castle. The six packages, three per side, are guarded by the attentive castle security. If during their attempt to take one of the packages they are caught by the guards and captured, that person is out of the game.
They have a total of four egg timers for the challenge. They can use each one once to distract the guards. As soon as the alarm sounds, the guards will look for the source of the noise and leave their posts until they have found it. During that time, they have to collect the packages. But they have to find them first.
He keeps going in circles. Man, they really are pros. How do we do this? I think if we go over there, for example, then he’ll run over there.
Or we start with the... But you can’t even... He’s going in circles. Or... He’s not going in circles. Have you seen the box yet? No, I’m waiting to see where he’s going.
Okay. Wait, let’s see what he does in the end. Yes. Have we seen the box yet? No. Where is it marked? Ah, we don’t have the map.
While Annika and Sabrina are being extremely careful, Lukas and Niko are trying it the bold way. Hey. Put the timer in there and run.
Yes. The box must be there. Hey, hide it, hide it. Hey! Box, box, box! You found a box! But he’s happy. We actually have to lure him out. Yeah, then let’s just lure him out. Then let’s do it now.
Yeah, you’re right. Sorry. I’ll take a photo. Yes. Is he going to stay there? Do we know that? We’ll have to get through fast.
You have to get here. We went into that room. We thought we don’t need the egg timer. We’ll create a diversion. I go to one side, distract the guard.
Lukas grabs the key, the box. But what I didn’t know... There were two guards.
Ah! No!
