[Music] in South Florida we love to design spaces with a relaxing yet tropical feel and one great place to get that design inspiration is a tropical [Music] destination we get an inside look on how the natural beauty of EA mueres has influenced the creation of this Seaside Retreat on today's soflow Home [Music] Project welcome back to soow from Mexico I'm Alina kaer I am truly enjoying taking in all of the beauty of the seaside resort sometimes it just takes traveling abroad to get that design inspiration to create beautiful things for your home impression ISL mues by Secrets redefines luxury resort living it seamlessly Blends Innovative architecture sustainability and the Beautiful local culture so today we have the opportunity to not only tour this this beautiful Resort but get some of the stories behind the design of it all and we are joined by Jorge marari one of the owners of impression is mues by Secrets welcome to so Home Project thank you thank you elen so every place has a story to tell and there's a great story here of how this Resort began this hotel was a structure that had been abandoned for 15 years wow and we would come and sit outside just on the ocean in the boat and we would look at the structure and say what a waste you know it's it's such a beautiful location so my partners and I just bought the property and turned it into this beautiful location wow now there is such a big focus on obviously the beauty of the views throughout everywhere you go through here from the very point when that catamaran pulls up as the welcome there's so many stunning features architecturally to look at including that beautiful Temple right by where you first pull up the front of the resort for us is the ocean so you arrive in the catamaran and the whole Resort greets you no and just that sense of arrival is amazing we said we have to keep the building Islam mueres is such a small community if we would have turned down the building it would have hurt their uh garbage uh system it was really complicated also nature we said not one tree is coming down they've been here for 15 years they will stay you didn't have to wait for it all to mature it was already it's already here and uh then we said every everything has to be sustainable materials so the temple we had 40 Mexican Artisans weaving um bamboo and they built the temple which is just amazing this is a place you have to see yes absolutely stunning and that that particular Temple space is used for different events the sunset always sets right in front of the temple so if you want to have the most romantic marvelous wedding it has to be done at the temple looking at the sunset when we arrived yesterday the first thing as our crew came in we noticed all of the beauty of that just it's a stunning stunning architectural feature of the property now so that is the main entrance but there is also an alternate entrance that is equally as beautiful because that frames out the beautiful view of the water through a series of orchin so how do we do that with the tunnels you know you're at the end of the tunnel and all of a sudden you see this beautiful ocean so this arches talk a little bit about the idea behind the architectural concept every time we would come to visit the site we would say wow this view is amazing we it seems like we're on mikonos or some Greek island you know somewhere in the Mediterranean but we're not we're in Mexico and we created a Tulu terranean style I love it it is a it's a perfect blend of beautiful styles to give you that Resort style feel and the stars for example those Stars they're made out of uh Greek marble they weighed about 3 tons each star it was took a lot to move this it was a to bring them here I love all the sustainable efforts and it shows that something could be sustainable could be beautiful and you also have a lot of initiatives that you're involved in here the resort so this hotel is home to saving or sharks foundation and this is an amazing Foundation fishermen have overfished the shark and the shark is very important to the reef very important to the ecosystem of the ocean they're they're the top predator and they keep all of the other species in line and we're going to do this tours so people can snorkel with the sharks or diving with the sharks and the service provider are going to be the fisherman not a a shark killer anymore but a shark hero now and by staying with us part of the profits that we make are going to saving our sharks Foundation that's really wonderful now we are here in the bar area the Isola Lobby Bar which is stunning and there's a lot of details again throughout the design of the space we see hints of things that bring the sea into the entire Decor the ceiling the sort of wave like pattern in the wood but bringing in materials that celebrate the area yes so even though we brought the ocean into Isola on the on the ceiling we wanted it to be neutral color more very T Loom you know natural yeah very natural and and again you can see for example our bar it's all Mexican Onyx you know making making a stat onx really makes a statement here and now the fixtures all of that brings in the Tulum part of the Tulum terranean right and now throughout the resort there we're going to see all of this art repeat itself in different ways and different materials so for example this beautiful shark was made by an artist Mexican artist called Cesar menak and Cesar pays the local people to go collect plastic from the ocean so if you see the bottom of the shark it's all plastic and that's why you see so many colors and then he puts this beautiful bits on top of it which is done by the wiol the intricacy is just so special amazing wiol Artisans and so this is the kind of art you're going to find throughout the resort there's a lot to see and a lot of beautiful moment and speaking of that we are going to go continue touring through the property and then we're going to wrap up and we're going to see you again for a dining experience to wrap the whole episode up my favorite so I want to thank you thank you Elena cheers cheers and we're going to go enjoy the property so stay with [Music] us coming up redefining luxurious Resort style living begins with the relaxing Suite on sow Home Project [Music] this sofla Home Project is sponsored by impression Isa muuh haris by Secrets a high inclusive collection Resort [Music] hi I'm John and I'm Lester with USA windows and doors and today we're going to show you another installation of impact Windows one of the things that the homeowner was concerned was about the process from beginning to end one of the aspect that makes our company so unique is that we handle this entire process for the customer from beginning to end it means that if the customer live in an hway we take take care of all the paperwork and adhere to the regulations of the H which is very important number two we handle the city permit and all the applications and number three we also take care of the inspections one of the unique things that we did in this home is that we change Windows from being up and down to a fix panel however the customer still wanted to maintain the original look of the windows we did what is called tombstones these are fixed panels yet we maintain the colonial GDs to comply with the HOA and still give the homeowner the original look that he loved one of the main advantages to going to a fixed panel of course number one is safety this window doesn't have any up and down mechanisms so it's a solid piece of glass so we do everything we do the stco we replace the wood bucking we do the drywall everything's done the only thing we don't do is touch our paints tell us also about the glass I see that it's looking like it's tinted what's the benefit of in this in this case the customer wanted to have some sort of privacy so we went with what is called light tint one of the main benefits of course is privacy plus also Energy Efficiency in this case what's the saving about anywhere between 20 to 30% wow are you ready to upgrade your windows call USA windows indoors today to experience the difference call the number on your screen now the first 100 colors will be upgraded to the energy efficient glass at no extra cost so call you S Windows and Doors [Music] now welcome back to soow Home Project I'm Alina Capra and we are continuing the tour this Exquisite Resort impression is mueres by secrets and now we are joined by the interior architect on the project Nadia boras Nadia welcome to so Home Project thank you thank you so the Interiors of the space are fabulous everything about it is just relaxing and beautiful where since we are on an island and in the Caribbean and we had this sense of having something very very relaxed and very like a peaceful it's kind of a Mediterranean style which is very very like quiet and neat we're here in the honeymoon suite one amazing room with fabulous views let's talk a little bit let's start from the back here and work our way up to the outdoors yes we have divided the room into three different moments the b top here which is a little bit higher because it has the view to the ocean unobstructed yes I love the way there's sort of an incorporated Lounge area by the tub where you could just kind of relax yes we have here also raised a little bit the ceiling with this VA so you can have a little more sense of height and you don't feel like very pressed because of the of the height of this of this top so also this creates a sensation of the Mediterranean architecture and it gives a grandness now let's walk up a little bit more here cuz in front of this this the sort of bathing showering and vanity area we have the bed and I love the way it has that very low again low kind of headboard area so it allows you to just continue with that we wanted to frame the bed actually but it gives you a surrounding that that like kind of shelters kind of envelops you now I'm as I'm looking around lighting lighting throughout the resort is it's very warm there's a soft glow the color temperature is is this beautiful just this it has so much beautiful warmth the idea here is to have very indirect lighting everywhere and to create the moments Nadia So speaking of moments there are so many great ones that continue through the space next we kind of have the main sort of living area and I love the way the ceiling kind of has a different change of material yes the ceiling I have this texture of wood along with this latties here of wood now the texture of the draperies the soft Linens again bringing in that feel of like Island Vibes yes you have to have some Fabrics to soften a little bit all the stone you know and and the hard surfaces and also when the wind flows and then you see all these L like you know waving and moving and it gives you a sense of freshness as well you know the indoor outdoor space connection here is really important you know the doors pocket back and you can have it open as it is now and it lives as one space yes how important was that yes and then you have also a different moment outside where you can have a a t in your bathtub there got to have the swing the swing which an element of fun as well because you know it's a it's a honeymoon I love that it seems like they're out here whether it's in the guest room or in the spa other areas everything leads to celebrating the beauty that is surrounding us on this island well I love all of the finishes and getting your Insight on you know all of the connections of what you've designed has been wonderful so I want to thank you for sharing with us thank you very much and we're going to continue touring this fabulous Resort when we come back so stay with us coming up next we plunge into tropical design with a Mediterranean influence on sofo home project [Music] welcome back to sow Home Project I'm Alina Capra and we are continuing to tour the stunning impression is mues by Secrets Resort with now the architect Andres kahika Andres it is a pleasure to have you here with us to talk about the architecture of this beautiful place thank you for having me here so we have gotten a chance to meet with Jorge and talk about the vision of the space meet with Nadia and talk about the design so now to have you kind of cap that off with speaking about the architecture and the structure itself because this structure was existing on the island yes yes was a an abandoned hotel we don't want to demolish everything because we are in an island it's very complicated to manage all this waste no so the idea was to restructure the building to create one floor more for for honeymoon suits and and with more flexibility and also this this rooftop is was is part of the new the new thing of I'm very happy with this place because you know you have amazing views and with this uh pool that is uh infinity pool and this experience to connect the pool with the the ocean so of course the Adaptive reuse of the space is incredible I mean you would never know it was an existing structure it feels like it's newly built now that infinity pool to the ocean and when you look out it is just the water color is gorgeous but it kind of creates this whole like mergence of the two colors the color of the water is part of the reflection of the color of the marble or the stone right so similar to the sand and and the water has to have that that's a way to connect to and to create this this Synergy between the pool and the and the ocean no that's that's the idea well the color is perfect and so there's a lot of little areas who carved out larger seating areas smaller there's some fire pits so this sort of configuration obviously this is used for evening and day so it sort of has to be a flexible space yeah and we want to create little spaces not to you feel more comfortable so now there's a lot of archways and a lot of styling with the architecture itself all added on all that arches wasn't there we have the structure we have the columns the beams the SL the slabs so very linear but very linear and rectangular I love the way we see this bamboo sort of everywhere even by where the DJ booth would be in the evenings well all this bamboo work is by architectur mix so Mexican H stunning yes artists and Architects and and they develop all these work all the bamboo is from Mexico now I wanted to a little bit more as we continue and talk about styling to point out some of those touches of Tulum of course with the light fixtures we've got the beautiful bamboo this sort of wavy structure but there's a couple of more things by a great bar area yes let's go check that out okay Andre so I absolutely love that this bar also with this sort of circular feel I think it creates a nice uh way for people to gather and celebrates all the curves that we're seeing throughout the architecture of the space yes we want to create a very fun a very fun place and this I I mean how cool is it to sit and enjoy a drink you're on a swing enjoying the view I mean there are so many great elements this is definitely a fun space yes and I think it's very important to understand the the location the place and how you get these elements in into the project and that people can enjoy it very much absolutely well it is so beautiful up here and we have seen so many great moments throughout this tour yes and so I want to thank you for sharing your expertise and your passion for all of this great work on the project it's been so much fun to get the architectural perspective from you thank you so much it's a pleasure to be good likewise and now we're at a bar but that's got me kind of feeling like I want to have something to eat so we're going to check out the beautiful Resturant spaces here when we come back next we inspire you with great restaurant design on sofo home project [Music] [Music] welcome back to soap Home Project I'm Alina Capra and we are on the last stop of our tour at the beautiful impression is muis by secrets and we are joined by Jorge marari one of the owners of the beautiful property here so Jorge we had a chance to speak with you earlier in the episode learn the history of the resort and how it started from an abandoned hotel to become what it is as we see here we got to talk to the architect the designer and really just see that Synergy of how it all came together but I think one of the final pieces that we need to connect is the culinary experience here of course Elena thank you thank you it's great seeing you again yes I think in the end guests want to enjoy really fantastic food so absolutely this is our goal at throughout the five restaurants that we have in the hotel and we're entering spia this is our Mediterranean restaurant it's run by Chef Pao parante you mentioned it's a Mediterranean restaurant and we've been talking about this kind of design theme that's been ever present throughout where it was a little bit of Tulum a little bit of Mediterranean Vib so the Mediterranean restaurant Decor fits so beautifully here the beautiful Mosaic work the tile the the Mediterranean Blues we wanted to make a tribute to the Mediterranean as you can see the views are just absolutely amazing feels like you're there and the restaurant is pretty much designed in that way you you can see you can see the Blues you can see the different colors of the Mediterranean you can see the lamps which are very Tulum which you merge the tanan style and the tables are made out of Mexican wood so all of the tables make the Tulum part of the style and then the weaving on the chairs it's that perfect merging of the two and now we get to see that merging of it all in a culinary experience as well right that's wonderful now let's take a seat and chat a little further I know we're going to get to experience a little bit of the The Culinary uh wonders here so J what are they bringing in this looks really special wow this is actually the house special this is a white sias in salt crust prepared by own Pao parante very nice the presentation is amazing uh it's a crust of salt which impregnates on the fish and the fish is actually baked with the crust you put in the oven for a whole hour but it is the crust that protects the fish from getting overbed we do have cooking classes and you can learn how to do pasta you can learn how to do this wonderful fish many different dishes of course when we are traveling it's always about inspiration right it could be inspiration from the food inspiration from the decor inspiration from the nature surrounding us as well and all of that could be found here everything everything in one beautiful Boutique Resort in a beautiful little island in the Caribbean which is Islam yes all right so I want to thank you everything here looks fantastic I'm excited to enjoy the food but most most importantly I want to toes to a wonderful tour
