Death Valley - how Deadly was it! (USA Ep #29)

Show Video

I have watched all your videos. Almost everything. -Unexpected (meeting)! -Yeah. Toilets are located just after 2-3 tents. We would spend our night here.

This was our tent. And we parked our car here. We are in Las Vegas. You can hear the loud noises.

And our target for the day is to go to Death Valley which is about 3 hours from here. We made an entry to the Death Valley National Park. There was an entry gate that displayed that it was the end of Nevada. After Nevada, starts California. That is Mr. Shanku, busy with his vlogging.

We are heading to that place. So many people have come here. There are so many cars parked behind. All of them seem to have come to visit this place. Let me go and see for myself. I can see something white from here.

Perhaps, it's salt. Death Valley. It's so vast! The entry fee is the same as in other national parks. The Death Valley National Park also comes under Federal National Parks.

It's under the administrative power of the American Central Government. So, if you have the annual pre-paid card... Can you feel the sound? -The soil is so very hard. -Yeah. It would be quite difficult without shoes. -Actually, this is too hard. -Yeah. -Because, it's a thick layer of salt. -Yeah.

The salt has hardened the surface. -You can feel more as you move ahead. -Yeah. Well, I was talking about the annual card. That may be used here as well. That would save the entrance fee here.

Wow! This is our car and I am going to sit inside. What am I blabbering? I have gone crazy! Let me proceed to the car. Oh! The car is on the move. Coming. Just a minute. Brother. Sister. Please, please, please. -Sir, are you going to Delhi? -Oh, are you from India? No, no, I am from Mars. Just landed.

Okay. I can give rides to people from Mars. -Are you my neighbor? -Yeah, from Jupiter. -Okay, please open the door. -Sure, sure. Please, get in. -Where in Delhi are you heading to? -I am going to Rohini. -Oh, you are also from Rohini? Nice. -Yeah, yeah.

-You are my brother, right? -Right, right. Thank you so much for the lift. That was my duty. Only an Indian can help an Indian in a foreign country. -But, you were saying, you are from Jupiter? -Yeah, I mean, Indian on Jupiter. Oh, Vegas! We were in Vegas yesterday.

-Unexpected (meeting)! -Yeah. It was really unexpected. I have watched all your videos. Almost every single one. The best video was the Gurudwara one. -Which one? -Gurudwara was the...

Kartarpur? Oh, you watched that one? -All of you are from San Diego? -Yeah. But, basically from which place? I'm from Mumbai, she is from Pune. -Oh, so will you stay in Las Vegas today? -Yeah. -You are going there? -Yeah.

It's not very far, just about 3 hours or so. And the roads are also quite good. The main objective is the 'area 51'. You know that? Yeah, we had stopped there. But, there's hardly anything.

Just a petrol bunk. -I want to see that. -Oh, is it? It's good for just a photo click. We met in Phoenix and we both are traveling together.

-It was very nice meeting all of you. -Yeah, it was really nice. And what you did was very good, caught hold of me. I recognized you from a distance. That's what I was telling her. Thank you. Thanks a lot and have a nice trip.

It was great meeting those people. -I know. -So many Indians. -I have clicked some photos. -What? Is it? Thank you. He is fast in clicking photos.

-Is that the way? Looks like that. -Yeah. -Shall we go? -Sure. -Oh. I can see some people over there! -Yeah, I have seen them.

Oh, great! Whatever, I dedicate my journey to this point, to my Indian friends from Pune, from Mumbai and to Mandar whom I met just now over there. I don't know if you are watching this video or not. If you are, do comment and please mention your names as well. I will be glad to read your comments. The place is nice. There is some time left for sunset. We are about to leave this place.

Heading to another new point. The time right now is 3:45 p.m. Oh, I can see so many Indians coming. -Oh, Yeah. -Isn't it? That's the parking area. On that side. Our cars are parked over there.

I just wanted to see, if they give a greeting gesture. One of them did say, "Hi". Maybe, some people would take me wrong. But, seeing an Indian in a foreign land, I just can't help myself. I like to chat.

-People should greet. It feels great. -Right. See, what these people are doing. The place is so vast. There are so many viewpoints on the way. The Death Valley National Park,...

Actually, in this country, in the USA... If we leave Alaska and 2-3 of its places, like Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, then this Death Valley National Park is the biggest in the area. On the other side, is the Artists Palette. There's an array of colored stones there. We are heading to see the place. And most importantly, the sun is setting just behind us.

The sunrays are falling on the stones. And that's a magical effect of the sunset. We wanted to see that and we are heading towards it. This is me. On this side, is our...

These are our beds. This bed is... Just a moment, I'm not visible now. This is Mr. Shanku's bed.

And mine is on this side. We have laid our beds. We would spend our night here. Now, I would be visible due to the lantern's light. Yeah, so, this is my bed.

No, sorry. I got so confused. This is Mr. Shanku's bed. And this is mine. There's no Wifi here.

No other facility. This lantern also is sponsored by Mr. Shanku. Our car is parked on the adjacent side. Toilets are located just after 2-3 tents.

We are spending our night here, at Panamint Springs Resort. I am going to get some food. We have some neighbors here.

Mr. Shanku is back, perhaps, with some food for us. -What did you get? -Lots of love. And lots of good wishes. Right now, we need food more than love and good wishes. We need to eat something.

Okay, that's it. I will get back, in case of any other worth-sharing information. -GoPro, what to say? -Get lost. I keep forgetting the voice command. GoPro, stop recording. This is me, if at all I'm visible.

Let me keep it behind this. That's right now. Now, the camera would record properly. This is our bench. We have laid all our stuff on it.

We have some chips. This is the sanitizer and we have some plates. This is honey, water, and bread. We will have some honey bread. Here is some 'chivda'. (Beaten paddy) We have some cake as well. This is our car.

And, this is me. And, this is Mr. Shanku. -Are you visible? -Yeah, somewhat. It's 8:45 a.m. No, that's according to the other time zone. It's 7:45 now.

I was making wild guesses at night. Maybe, the mountains should be towards this side. The sky is a beautiful blue, right above my head. Last night, was a very very starry night.

Millions and millions of stars! This is generally seen from mountains. The price of the tent was around 55 dollars. This is what the tent looks like. Bathrooms and toilets are not very spick and span, but, they say, I mean, it's my belief, when we travel in scarcity, that's more memorable. Yesterday, I and Mr. Shanku were talking over dinner. It was dark, everything was scattered here and there.

Can't remember what we had and what not. Compared to the dinner that we had in Las Vegas and Grand Canyon, this was a totally different experience. And I feel and even he was saying, this would be more memorable. We are meeting so many people.

Today morning when I was brushing in the bathroom, a gentleman was taking bath. "From where are you?" I replied, "From India." He then asked, "What purpose?" I said, "Just for travel". "Where all?" I said, "Just exploring the states." He was like, "That's nice. You speak good English?" "Do people speak English there in India." I said, "Yeah, many."

He was very much pleased. At first instance, I felt him to be a bit different. I was being judgmental. And then after some time, he said, "Have a nice time here." He was full of good wishes for me and that made me feel so happy.

Nice. So many motorcycles are parked there. There are so many cars, so many RVs and so many people. It's great to see them all. They are also travel freaks. Nice! Brother, what about breakfast? Yeah, I will take just a little. -I will surely eat a lot. -Sure.

-How are you feeling? -All fine, except the washroom. Oh, okay. Rest, the place was very good, quite comfortable. Everything was ready. We hardly had to do anything. It was my first experience. Thanks to you.

Thanks to you. If you were not with me, I don't know when I would've done this and with whom. And, if it wasn't you, maybe, I would be wandering somewhere else. But, the place is very nice. Everything is well maintained. It's so scenic. Everything is really beautiful. Yeah, the place is definitely very nice.

-Though, the night was quite cold. -Yeah, it was. -Did you feel? -Yeah, my nose is blocked. Oh, is it? Okay. Mine is open.

It was good that we had comforters with us. Besides each camp, these benches have been placed. One can have breakfast here, or do anything they feel like. This was our tent. And, our car was parked here. Just, wanted to relax.

Wanted to do something creative in a relaxing mood. Wanted to play with the sand. But, there's no one to see. I'm in Mesquite Sand Dunes, in Death Valley National Park. I wonder, looks like someone has dropped heaps and heaps of sand here.

Surrounded by mountains. Huge mountains. How the sand came here. I don't know. I just don't know. Everything is so magical here.

You can get the feel only when it comes straight from your heart. When you feel the nature. And then... you start enjoying, whatever you are doing at that time The songs make us feel good. The drive makes us feel good.

It feels good to be with someone. Some memories make us feel good. This is the magic of nature. Go ahead. Go ahead. -Is it okay? -Yeah. Death Valley National Park.

The name has 'Death', but it's really beautiful. -Beautiful death. -Yeah, beautiful death. This is the Beautiful Death Valley National Park.
