Okay. A colleague These mountains are really scary. You get such a vibe from them.
Assalam-O-Alaikum everyone. Welcome back to the channel from Karakol, Issyk-Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan. Today is our last day in Kyrgyzstan.
Hopefully, we will be able to enter our next destination, Kazakhstan. If all goes well. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan border is about 110 km away from here. I will enter East Kazakhstan through that border. I have not planned yet where'll I spend the night after border crossing.
First, I will cross the border and then I will see. There is a small city. I have planned to visit the city first. I will get a SIM card and exchange money from there.
After that, I will go to the Charyn Canyon. I might cross it in the evening. The canyon is very beautiful. I intend to reach there. First, let's have breakfast.
Since I am in the city, I can have a luxurious breakfast. When I visit the mountains, I have almost a single meal. So, I will eat as much as I can. Spanish breakfast is here. I think this is a Spanish omelette. Some brown bread, salad and potatoes.
We also have cheese and salmon fish. I think this is the first time I'm eating fish in this tour. This seems to be delicious cappuccino. Let's start and then leave.
Thank you. Assalam-O-Aleikum. (prayer for journey) May I have a good day today. And may the border crossing goes well. So that I can safely reach Kazakhstan.
I paid around 2000 Kyrgyz Som for this guest house. Approximately $24 to $25. And the breakfast was not included in this. I paid around $5.5 to $6 for the breakfast as well.
I can go ahead from here. Oh, I have to go straight. Okay. Hopefully, I am on the right track. I am a little late today by almost 1 - 1.5 hours.
As I have to go to Korea and Japan. So I was arranging for that. And there are a lot of hurdles. Let's see what happens. Overlanding is not that easy.
Especially in some countries it's easy. Our last Africa tour was smooth. But there are some issues in this tour.
I try my best to prepare for it. But still, there are some things on the way that are not in control. So you try to get information from other travelers or tour guides.
And try to make the tour as good as possible. So this is the Karakul town. I think this will be the third largest city in Kyrgyzstan. According to the facilities available here. Overall, my stay in Kyrgyzstan was very comfortable. I enjoyed my time here.
But as soon as I reach Kazakhstan, I have to do three things. I have to get a Russian visa. Then back to Russia from Mangolia. Then a ferry from Vladivostok to Korea and Japan. I have already started the process of arranging the documents. But that is quite tough.
It was a good start to our ride. I have covered about 55 to 60 km. The road was good. There will be a gravel road ahead. There is a small pass in front of me. I have to cross it.
The next 10 to 12 km will be like this. It's an interesting ride. It's a peaceful area. Not too crowded. Just a few small villages. Too many stones. Come on Rangeeli (the motorcycle), let's get out of here.
I am taking it from side to side to avoid the stones. Finally I have reached the border of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Let's see how it goes. I am not sure where to go. I think this is the passport control. It should be here somewhere.
Customs people are also here. It's a small border. Not too crowded. It took us only 5 to 7 minutes. See you. Thank you very much. Bye bye Kyrgyzstan.
And this is the border. Let's see what they say here. Mostly tourists are crossing. I think the passport will be checked here. I think it's a customs union.
So there is no need to get bike clearance. I have to go a little further. Yes sir.
Thank you. Okay. Thank you.
I was wearing a mask. I had done my buff up there. He told me to put it down. He told me to remove my helmet too.
But he was a nice guy. I have got my visa here. He has checked the motorcycle too. Sorry? Yes. Yes. Here open the back.
Okay. He could ask me to open it again. Let's go Rangeeli. I am a little scared of border crossings.
I have a drone with me. And today, by mistake, it was lying on the top. But I think there is no issue in Kazakhstan. That's why I didn't pay much attention. Thank you.
So... Welcome to Kazakhstan. How many border crossings have we done in this tour? Afghanistan, Tajikistan twice, Uzbekistan Kyrgyzstan, and this is my 6th border crossing. I have not made any payment here.
Neither on the Kyrgyz side nor on this side. No payment for the motorcycle. And the visa is on arrival on the German passport. Apart from that, there is no concept of Carnet here. There is only a registration document of the motorcycle.
They have seen that. And that's it; and made an entry in their system. They have not given me any document. Hopefully, when I cross, no one will ask for a document. I just have a document from Kyrgyzstan.
From here to the next town, I have been told that this is a paved road. So I will reach there easily. This village is not too far. Let's go there and see what I have to do next. This entire border crossing took me...
maybe... 30 to 35 minutes. That's it. One of the fastest border crossings. All the officials were sitting nearby. It's too windy here.
Wow! Two German vehicles were coming. And here too, I will see horses on the sides. This is the first town. Let's see if I can find anything here. SIM and Kazakh currency.
I need these two things. If I find an exchange, I will exchange dollars. If not, I will use an ATM to withdraw money using a credit card.
At least I will be able to survive. If I need more money, I will exchange it in Almaty. I think this is the main road.
This is almost the end of the town. I have entered the main commercial area. I think there is no money exchange here. There seems to be a big petrol pump ahead. Let's try here. Let's get Rangeley refueled.
I am getting 98. But it's not here. There is a petrol pump ahead, let's see there. 98 is available It's a little expensive. But I think Rangeeli will be happy if I get it from here.
They have put a sign outside. It's 95. It's 95 everywhere. Assalam Alekum.
Card? Card or cash? Let's get it filled up and have coffee from here. 95 full. 95 full? Yes.
Card. Let's get it filled up. and find out how much. India? Pakistan Muslim? Yes Muslim.
Yes. Kyrgyzstan Kazakhstan Almaty. Yes. I do not understand. Sorry? If you're heading to Almaty, you can write my number.
Sure. Thank you very much. No problem. Maybe in 3 or 4 days I will be there.
Sure. Nice meeting you. Thank you. He met me on the way. He is a nice guy. Coffee? Yes. Cappuccino? 200? Yes, 300.
Syrup? Sugar? No. Cappuccino? Yes. At least my credit card is functional here. I have got fuel for the motorcycle And some fuel for myself as well.
I just crossed the border. So I thought I should get something sweet. That's why I got this donut. When I will go to the city, I will try to find an ATM or a sim card. I don't know how much I have paid here.
I am not able to convert it in dollars. There is no internet. I didn't download the offline currency exchange app. I will find out once I reach the city. Let's rest here for a while.
I will finish the main tasks on the way. I hope so. There must be an ATM here.
My credit card might have caused a problem. But since I have dollars, I can easily exchange them anywhere. This is a small market of this village.
Assalam-O-Alaikum SIM? B-Line? I think the bike is safe here. No one will touch it. This is the location. This is Delhi 2. Assalam o Alaikum SIM? Assalam o Alaikum SIM? Yes I have found a B-Line sim here. I have internet connection now I have got 25 GB in 15 USD.
I have exchanged 100 USD. This is the Tenge currency here. This is a 5000 note.
We get 480 Tenge in 1 USD. This is a tree of life. There is an eagle on this side.
This is a 5000 note and this is a 2000 note. There is a map on it. Let's get out of here.
The 1 liter petrol 95 we got earlier, cost us 0.56 USD. This is the cheapest petrol I have got so far. From Pakistan to all the countries I have visited in this tour, I have got it here. They have a lot of oil and natural resources.
It's windy. I am not sure about the situation where we are going. I have checked the view points of the canyon. I had to turn, I have come a little ahead. It looks like it is going to rain. It's cloudy.
Let's see what kind of road this is. I have to go another 6 km. I won't spend much time here. I will leave from here on time.
We will have to ride ahead. I don't want to get stuck in bad weather. The wind is very strong. If there is a storm, I will be in deep trouble.
I hope this is not a bad track. The way I am going through this desolate place. These mountains are quite scary. You can have such a vibe of these mountains. No one has gone this way today.
Otherwise, there must have been some tire marks here. I hope I don't get wet in this rain. 4 km more to go. 4 km is quite a distance. I hope the view point is good.
I don't want to ruin the effort I am putting in. Here is the river. There is no one here but a few birds. I am right next to the river. Let's turn around and stop somewhere here. I think this is a camping spot.
But considering the scenery, it would be difficult to see the beauty of the canyon from here. This is just a camping spot. Right next to the river.
Well, it was quite an adventure. Let's go back. Dark clouds are there. Let's stop for a while here and then leave. Let's go.
It should not fall. The weather is getting bad here. That's why Abrar and Rangeeli are leaving from here.
It's better to leave before we get stuck here. That's why I didn't take a long break here. The wind was so strong that my drone almost fell into the river. The wind is coming from the front direction. Look ahead. It's raining.
Then a little ahead. It's a pattern. Assalam-O-Alaikum one person Yes How much? 400 Ringgit. It's raining cats and dogs here. We have taken shelter here for our safety.
Now we are going towards our hut. We have reached. Let's show you from inside. Let's unload our luggage.
Let me give you a room tour of this place. Because it's a must. It's quite expensive.
Let me show you the room first. This is the entrance. And right next to it is the washroom. It's very clean and beautiful. There is a boiler on top. So I will have hot water.
This is my sleeping bed. There is a chair in front of it. They have kept coffee and other things here. When I go out from here, there is a balcony. When I go out from the balcony, there is canyon in front.
This is the reception and restaurant. I will have my food in a while. Initially, I was planning to take a 1.5 hour ride from here and have a night stay in a small village.
Because I have to go there tomorrow. But the weather was bad here. It's a little better now.
I couldn't enjoy the canyon. So rather than coming back here again, it's better to stay here for the night. Let's see the canyon today. Hopefully, the weather will be better tomorrow. I will see the canyon in the morning and then go to the next destination. I paid $115 for this tour.
I haven't paid more than $50 to $60 in this tour. So my budget is gone far beyond three days. But it's okay.
Let's enjoy this place. Sometimes we have to do this. I will have some walk and see the canyon if possible.
Otherwise, I will have food and rest here. Dinner has been served. You can say it's a fancy dinner. It's called Kazan Japa. I'm not sure what it means. But it's a local dish.
It has meat and some bread pieces. It does not seem fulfilling as I am very hungry. And according to its price, it's not too much.
I think it's around $12 or $13. The water is around $3 or $4. It's surprising. In some places in Europe, the water is expensive.
If you want to have a soft drink, it's even more expensive. I'm surprised here. It's a first time experience.
But anyway, they say such experiences are worth it. Let's try Kazan Japa. You can't expect good food in a restaurant like this.
I will eat to our heart's content. and will leave tomorrow. That's it for today. I hope you liked the vlog. Do not forget to like, subscribe and share. Bye.
