Welcome to Frankfurt International Airport, the busiest airport by passenger traffic in Germany Condor is operating from Terminal 1 in Frankfurt Airport The check-in area features dedicated Business Class counters Condor does not have its own lounge at Frankfurt but its premium passengers have access to the Lufthansa lounges Lufthansa has more than 10 lounges at Frankfurt Shown here is the Lufthansa lounge near gate B24 in Terminal 1, which is close to the Condor boarding gates The lounge has the layout of a donut, with the food stations at the centre of the donut and the seating areas on the outside Although the lounge has large windows, it does not have a view since there is another building between the windows and tarmac The buffet offers plenty of cold and hot items, such as salads, sandwiches, broccoli cream soup and beef stew to name a few Wine offerings are limited, although there is no shortage of other alcoholic drinks, including German beers The lounge has been built with business travelers in mind, with plenty of tables (with power outlets) and work cubicles It’s time for boarding A bus takes us from the gate to the remote aircraft stand This is the Airbus A330-900neo aircraft that will fly us to Cancun (registration code: D-ANRF; delivered to Condor in 2023) Condor has a fleet of 13 Airbus A330neo aircraft, which all feature a striped look, representing summer, joy and freedom The striped look is inspired by parasols, bath towels and beach chairs, matching Condor’s reputation as a vacation airline Condor’s A330neo aircraft features 30 lay-flat Business Class seats, with direct aisle access for all passengers The four Prime Seats in the front row of the cabin offer even more space, a bigger bed, a “visitor” seat, and an extra-large TV 8A is my seat for the 12 hour flight to Cancun The Business Class seats are arranged in a 1-2-1 layout Single seats are located along the side while paired seats are located in the plane's center The color concept of the cabin, which is marina blue throughout, compliments the leather touches and striped design patterns The window seats in the even numbered rows are closer to the windows since they have their console on the aisle side The Business Class seat has a pitch of 76 cm (30 inches) A welcome drink is offered upon boarding The Business Class cabin features mood lighting, including a rainbow scheme, which stands for diversity and inclusion We're leaving the aircraft stand at 11 am (on time departure) Due to the winter conditions In Frankfurt, the plane needs to be de-iced before we can take off Removing frost or ice from the aircraft’s surfaces prevents possible severe impact on the flight performance The Condor safety video is played during the de-icing process Frankfurt Airport has four runways of which three are arranged parallel in east–west direction and one in north–south direction The A330neo is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines The A330neo is a new-generation aircraft, building on the features of the popular A330 and using A350 XWB technology The A330neo (which is also known as A330-900) has a 25% lower fuel burn per seat than previous generation competitors Let's have a detailed look at the Condor Business Class seat One side of the seat features a console with a reading light, headset hanger, storage space and a cocktail table Around the cocktail table are three charging outlets, as well as the handset for the inflight entertainment The seat controls are located on a panel to the side of the seat In front of the seat is a 17 inch 4K touchscreen monitor, with a decently sized ottoman (footrest) underneath The tray table is placed directly under the TV, and released upon the touch of a large button Have you ever flown with Condor? Leave a comment Condor's Business Class amenity kit is presented as a cardboard container and consists mainly of sustainable materials The amenity kit contains socks, earplugs, a viscose sleep mask, dental kit, lip balm and facial moisturizer Noise-cancelling headphones are provided (bluetooth audio is  available, so passengers can also use their own headphones) Condors offers excellent bedding in Business Class, including a mattress topper, a cozy pillow, and a high-quality blanket The mattress topper consists of a seven-layer system and was specially developed for the seats in Condor's Business Class A pair of striped slippers is offered as well Let’s have a look at the menu: a lunch will be served after takeoff and a light dinner prior to arrival A hot towel is offered prior to the lunch service An aperitif is served with warm nuts and Italian crackers Duo of starters: Norwegian Ikarimi salmon and roast beef with porcini mushroom tiramisu The starter is served with bread, bell pepper cream cheese dip, and a baby green salad with tomatoes Main course: braised beef served with, parmesan potatoes, brasserie vegetables, truffle jus The little airplane-shaped salt and pepper shaker is so cute! Cheese selection: Mölltaler mountain cheese, Fourse d'Ambert blue cheese, farmer gouda with red pesto Dessert: Gianduja chocolate tartlet There are two lavatories for the 30 Business Class passengers It's time for some rest: the seat conveniently converts to a bed with a length of 2 m (78 inches) and width of 48 cm (19 inches) Condor's A330neo offers excellent inflight entertainment, including dozens of movies, TV shows, podcasts and music On the entire A330neo fleet, Condor  offers its guests the option of connecting to WiFi Condor also offers eJournals for free download on all flights The flight path to Cancun takes us over Canada and the USA, including the airport of Indianapolis (shown here) A mid-flight snack is offered (Black Forest ice-cream) Several snacks are available in the galley throughout the flight Condor's A330-900neo features two Economy Class cabins, which seat a total of 216 passengers The first eight rows of the front cabin feature 64 Premium Economy Class seats with more legroom A light dinner is offered two hours prior to arrival:  chicken Thai curry, served with a salad and cheesecake We're reaching the city of New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico We've started our descent towards Cancun (ETA 6 pm) With over 9 million passengers and around 100 destinations, Condor is one of the world's leading leisure airlines Condor was founded in 1955 as “Deutsche Flugdienst GmbH” and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lufthansa from 1960 to 2000 In 2000, the Condor shares held by Lufthansa were gradually acquired by the Thomas Cook Group Since Thomas Cook collapsed in 2019, Condor continues to fly as an independent carrier
