heat heat and it's it's a dream for a lot of people it is isn't it yeah but between the dream and the reality you have to go through holding it down the road got everything that I want from the peacos mountains go go go oh well that was a good night's sleep actually I think it was a a great idea getting that second um sleeping bag and now I'm going to cook a bit of my steak what I like about cooking you know in the wild like this it's something real because it's something you want to do you want to eat something cuz you're hungry and it's quite nice to cook something for yourself um yeah it's only a little minor step but it's the opposite of everything you do in your digital world and um and this is your real life world where something as meaningful as cooking for yourself in a field before you start a new day on a brand new adventure it's only a small step but it's a very important small step and anybody can do it you just got to face up to a little bit of discomfort which is minor to be honest like waking up in a nice field in a warm tent for some nice food and then going for a motorbike ride yeah it's not that difficult to do is it really interesting analogies between the um the motorbike and the horse um how you kind of call it the iron horse and you know in the morning you you're kind of saddle it up ready to go you're you are that kind of cowboy on the road so they say it's quite a meditative sort of thing to actually load your bike easy to lose stuff goodness knows I do you go through a due process you you contemplate where everything is where it needs to go on the bike just so I not got to not like having a boot of a car and it's got to be you know packed efficiently so nothing falls off yeah you're in a kind of mindset you're ready to go everything's sorted out properly you're safe wow let's go i'm so mean see where this goes i quite like just not knowing where I'm going just like I just go down a lane and I think that could be interesting it's a bit potholey it's a bit rough wonder why that's going to go to somewhere interesting probably come to a dead end or a field oh god yeah you're right this is fairly pointless i can see where this is going the problem is when you're on a bike you're enjoying riding you can't get enough of the riding oh I think I'll go about the same way why not oh I like to feel the road and you do on this bike actually suspension is quite thumpy love it yeah I can hit that hole like that and hardly feel it really in some ways right so let's go down here h let's just have a random right yeah there we go see where this takes us on the way to Monsam Michelle we we sort of explore a little back route this is nice little level crossing i like level crossings that's cuz I like trains well this is more like it yeah getting a bit more country away from the traffic soon be in Monselle for me flat white oh blime me i'm on route national now trying to get to um to Monsam Michelle oh Granville that's where he said i might have a little look at that let's have a little see ah and then you're up some lurries chuffer for ages and you can't overtake cuz it's a single yellow oh I don't know this is Groville we'll have a little maybe we'll have a look i don't know we'll have a little turn anyway let's see what's what see if there's a linking road from Groville to Monselle that's interesting his name is derived from a Welsh immigrant called St marlo or Mloo who's also a follower of someone called Brendan the Navigator brendan's a good name anyway that was the early in the sixth century i mean that's like hundreds and hundreds of years ago this is really interesting apparently incredibly popular in the summer season and I'm in the offse this is really interesting it was originally built as a walled citadel it guards the mouth of the river Ron nearby and was for centuries home to feared pirates oh how exciting is that it was known as a privateier city oh where am I going now god knows i'll go up here see oh I can't oh I'm going to stay here for a minute oh I think this is the end oh well maybe I'm going to go out hang on a second let's see what's Look out here yeah but they've all gone to the Davy Jones locker and now it's literally Britain's Britain's most um visited city yeah i mean it really is one of those most beautiful cities it really is millions of people visit every year anyway these are the ramparts this is part of the exterior wall which is sort of guarding obviously the center of San Marlo they were built in 1689 by the French King Louie the 14th let's have a go in here come on let's be rude let's be naughty let's be naughty oh god you're not looking for So the meat Heat heat i'm on me well uh the mission opened in 2007 we are running the place since uh about 18 years now uh we are working with about 50 machine on the site with the gallery of machine right up there we have also the giant elephant and the seawward carousel at the other side of the park uh and so it's a project that started in the early 2000 uh with at the start only the elephant and a few machine inside the gallery and we develop since then it's a project that has been made from two authors France Rosier and Pier Or and that's keep going since uh since this time uh and yeah inside the gallery for the moment we are presenting the project of the errant tree the idea of uh a giant uh mechanical tree uh 35 m high 50 m of diameter about 1,000 tone for the idea that we want to make inside this city of I I've known about this for quite some time and it's just absolutely extraordinary the minds of clever people to create things like this is just a joy it's just absolutely brilliant yeah I don't need to see anymore i've seen it the machines dil fantasy nonsense and it gives so much joy to so many people it's great well oopsy daisy here we are i'm looking for Ollie motorcycles they should be around here somewhere ollie motorcycles should be around here somewhere where I'm going to go for my first service it's a Royal Enfield dealership near Bordeaux they're supposed to be very very good it's not really as if I feel a need surface to be perfectly honest the bike's going really well i mean oh there we are there um I mean at 5,000 mi the tapest need adjusting apparently but you know I mean it's been going like a train it's not like the Enfield I knew from 35 years ago when I motorbiked around the world on the 350 classic bullet no no it's bloody brilliant oh here we are royal Enfield Olly motorcycles right there we go that's it lovely bubbly there we are let's go and see the guys hello Bonjour come on oh this looks nice hello thank you wow okay okay i'll go and see Gabby yeah thank you very much thank you heat heat so Gabby what are you going to do i'm going to go for an oil change and a filter change and complete check of the engine the the machine tightening the driving chain pressuring the tire checking everything I can check tap it no no not today later is it 10 10,000 km yes okay great thank you on every twin cylinder from Royal Enfield it's every 10,000 km right so this is Gabby and Gabby's done the the service on the bike ah what you looking for ah okay ah right okay check it you're happy sometime like every thousand or thousand kilometers check it okay got it yeah absolutely like upright yep even 20 and where should it be absolutely full no no just on on the top top layer yeah okay got it yeah fine next checkup you have to call the the next shop uh a bit earlier cuz you have to check the the tapet okay we'll do it's a bit longer to do longer job yeah yeah okay we'll do it yeah got it dealerships have changed a great deal actually i mean certainly left of center sort of dealerships like Royal Enfield are very boutiquey they you know tip their hat at lifestyle more than anything really the ability to dream you know the dealerships are here to inspire you to give you a you know a new view of motorcycleycling really it's not just you know an oily rag and a cleanup it's much more than that this is the dream this is This is where you can take your motorcycle and go off on an adventure and what do you think about my project going it's crazy project right crazy and it's it's a dream for a lot of people it is isn't it yeah but between the dream and the reality you have to go through right service done that's really good in fact it really was just an oil change didn't the tap is doing right um God really nice dealership really friendly um Gabby was great he said that the chain needed tightening a little bit it did an oil change and um didn't do the tapets didn't need it he said maybe 10,000 km so you know it's still running really well um I tell you what when you go into I must say when you go into an Enfield dealership I know I'm blowing it trumpet right now but you do feel really at home it's a boutique it's a lifestyle operation and there's nothing wrong with that at all give people things to be inspired to do you know give them some sense that maybe they too can do their own adventure which of course they can everybody can sometimes you need a bit of a push that's all right so there we are on our way to a camping spot let's see if we can find somewhere to pitch the tent tonight well at some point we'll make out the tune of Pilat which is um the largest sandjune in Western Europe i think it's 3 km long and it's 107 m high and 500 ft wide oh oh the sea at last ah it's gorgeous oh wow that is so nice to see what is this the bear bisc North Atlantic lovely there's the Sanjune part of the June of Pilot and I'm on the way south now towards Bayon and Beeritis but I'm going to stop off shortly because this is the land's coast it's one of the biggest heathlands in the whole of France massively forested lots of sand famous chickens that run around wild famous to the region great gastronomic delicacy the wild chickens of the L's coast although I've never seen one there you go hello mate yeah that's the one all the French bikers they all wave they're really cool about that there's a real camaraderie a real kind of brotherhood sisterhood whatever mates let's give it a bit of a blast the bikes out of service it's functioning topho yes tickle tickle tickle lovely road not many cars lots of cyclists and let's get another view of the sea maybe no just more cars it's not that I don't like motorists i do actually i just don't like cars they're so ubiquitous they're always there and always look a bit boring as well to be honest anyway here we go find a little place to put me tent find a little restaurant maybe for a bit of snack and go to bed early oh nice one yeah yeah no proper boots no just wearing jeans naughty there we are they won't listen to me
