Avengers Campus, Flying Spiderman, Talking Racoon, & Beer & Foodies at Disney California Adventure
good morning youtube eric here from nomadic fanatic hope you guys are doing well coming to you once again from anaheim california more specifically the grand californian hotel here at disneyland today we're going to be doing disney's california adventure but uh no good day in disney ever started without an awesome buffet breakfast so got my reservation here it's another buffet it's another character dining i believe this is a beautiful hotel here they have complimentary valet parking for three hours while you eat so after this i'll head over to the mickey structure to park for the day but let's go find the restaurant thanks for joining me guys we'll be uploading this video with some no man internet link below in the video description gonna be a good day all right here's breakfast they're not even open yet another first reservation day storytellers cafe i did my online check-in so i'll just wait for my text message i'm 40 years old that's the first time i've ever done uh car valet ballot validation stuff that's weird the 7 am slot is just not very popular because the mickey inference structure isn't even open until 7. all right we're in i'm the second person in here actually and uh got me a booth a really cool table cool little backdrop there that's all you can eat so let me get up there all right no tater haters here i'm gonna start with some potatoes those extra green decorations in there too get some scrambled eggs on the plate there gonna grab some french toast and i just have that whole thing of bacon right there holy cow and a mickey waffle with some sugar on it better than anything i could have done oh yeah hey mickey hey minnie hey chip hey pluto mark park all right got validated let's go figure out how this ballet thing works to get my car back gotta love the effort disney puts in though that's so pretty man do i look that funny in my smart car it looks so tiny i love it all right tater tots back uh dca closes at eight so a little earlier than disneyland but that'll give me some time to play in downtown disney after the park closes to disney parks and right down the elvis later and one more elvis later nice beautiful day here once again oh a little cloudy but this is all gonna clear up today it'll be 73 degrees all right and we just missed this tram but we're gonna catch the next one there's gonna be another one right after this one i'm so glad the trams are back though that's a long walk to the park from here definitely a long walk oh look at this right after that one there's another one coming no wait at all all right there we go we're on our way to the parks guys once again there shows them on the rails here we are in downtown disney which doesn't open until 10 except starbucks coffee they're open and there's already a line out the door i'll probably hit up a world of disney on the way out tonight just to see if there's anything maybe because disneyland didn't have very good magnets i wasn't impressed i did get the one from jungle cruise but i still want one that says 2022 on it where's those magnets you know all right and here is the entrance for disney's california adventure again we have this sign out front that says disney california adventure will close at eight today and that is because apparently there's an after hours villains night and they're sold out so that's why we gotta leave by eight all right there we go hey there thank you have all right here we are inside the park now it's 8 39 in the morning and just like my last video where i introduced this service i'm going to say yes i want to do genie plus which replaces fastpass uh there's one thing i forgot to mention about this service it's uh twenty dollars for the genie plus i'm gonna go ahead and get the genie plus service let me fill this out and pay my 20 bucks yup that's me okay good got that genie plus that's the one i bought i forgot to mention in my disneyland video when i first tested this out that there is a free complimentary version of the genie it's just called genie genie inside the app helps you track what you want to do it also sends you push alerts and says hey you're nearby pirates of the caribbean it's only a 20 minute wait you want to do that real quick the genie plus one allows you to skip the line going to the lightning lane at certain attractions but not all attractions the other thing you can do like rising the resistance is pay an additional seven to twenty dollars to skip the line and ride that that ride that day so like i think the avengers campus the new thing that i haven't seen has a thing there where it's 20 bucks to to ride it so we're just gonna figure this out and start the day here there's a daisy duck over there taking selfies you can't get close to the characters still here in early 2022 but you can kind of get a weird selfie from 20 feet away yeah i mean mickey and the gang were like a foot away from me in the restaurant when they walked by but yeah all right let me share that information now that i just found it so radiator springs racers and web slinger spider-man are the two that you have to pay extra for right now it's only 10 bucks 10 bucks for that one 10 bucks for that one they can get me in at 905 or 855. those are the two most popular attractions in this park all right we got a sign for the grizzly peak grizzly peak airfield which can only mean one thing we're close to soarin that is my first lightning lane a genie plus pass that is good in two minutes to skip the line look at the town outside the airfield here i love this feel it's so cool it's really neat um the car's missing there was an old family truckster right here that was packed up for camping it's not here anymore let's go peek in here before we go to soaring though still got another minute oh bummer they got the same magnets although i do like that one because it's a clip mickey and friends and then the disneyland resort one but still nothing that says 2022 on it that's a cool license plate frame it's metal all right here we are at the entrance of sauron you can see above us we got the lightning lane i'll show you what you do you go to your app and then you click redeem and then it gives you a barcode and then you plug your barcode into there and it turns green and we're good to go and so now just like fastpass used to be we're gonna walk down a different lane here the old fastpass lane which is now the lightning lane i love this soaring ride hey cool i'm finally getting to go into sea uh charlie bay here i've never in all my soaring experiences at both bart never got to go in seas that's kind of cool so we're in the tower we are ready for takeoff that was pretty cool we got the california specific soaring over california which i've not seen before all those scenes are from california same thing spraying the different smells like the orange grove you could smell the orange and the water you could smell the i don't know what the smell of the water was when they were surfing but it was cool it was really neat i love that ride and is it me or does dca feel a lot less congested than disneyland i did bring my popcorn bucket anyway for convenience disneyland no longer does the refills so once you buy your 11 bucket you just pay 525 for a paper like cardboard version and then dump it into yours they don't do the two dollar refills but i brought my bucket anyway i brought it because it's a convenient way to still store the popcorn that i buy and put a lid on it throw it in my backpack and then open it up when i'm in line queue or something like that let's continue walking around the park so we're in dca park just wanted to mention look at this right i mean you can literally walk from your room look at those balconies from the uh californian the grand californian hotel with the storyteller cafe but on the other side we just ate over there but we had to leave there and then go park in the structure if you stay on the resort you can just walk right into the park that's pretty cool well there's gonna be no grizzly river run raft attraction it's they they drained it and you see some workers over there they're working on this ride right now again it is refurbishment season here in disney and um this is the time of year where a lot of attractions close for routine maintenance it seems like a pretty good time of year because it's winter here even though it's warm uh it's still still one of the better times for them to work on it it just sucks because grizzly river run here on the west coast is closed at the same exact time as cali river rapids at animal kingdom on the east coast i guess it's not that weird it's just it's a slow time for that ride i just love the water rides and oh well eric you'll have to come in the summertime mr grizzly there's not too happy that his rides close down sorry folks the ride's closed the bear out front should have told you yes he did but i still want to go peek at the russian river store here see if there's anything because this is more like fort wilderness to me doesn't it have that uh wilderness feel olaf and the canoe there and they do have some 20 22 gear over here we got any magnets hmm that's another negative they got lots of christmas ornaments for this year no magnets all right welcome to uh cars land cars land here in disney's pixar route 66 radiator springs population 12. a little different than the route 66 i remember but still they got a hippie tent here uh taste in very bright and colorful all right we got mater's petting zoo here and look it's a little baby tractor who wants to go tractor tipping towing and salvage let's go check it out guys i gotta hit this one up here's the cue for the line to get there i love all the old stuff mater the greater neat all right let's pick one don't forget to check your oil looks like the oil's good there all right this is gonna be my tractor all right i did take another uh dramamine pill this morning with breakfast i'm not going to get motion sickness this is an easy easy starter compared to some of the other rides today we're ready tomator oh yeah that whips around pretty good actually that really whips around every once in a while it gives you like a really good whip around the edge when you're coming around and it whips you hey watch out watch out i'm tractoring here that was fun i'm not afraid of going on some of the less popular attractions that was actually a lot of fun but i made a lightning lane reservation for my next one here in karsland let's go check out uh sarge's surplus hut see if we can find a magnet here there's a neat cars land little model here here's where we started there and then uh yeah they got the whole town version of it pretty cool and i like cars land so much that i really like this emblem magnet that's a cool one to remember so that's going to be well it's going to be at least my my first dca magnet i might get another one later a little fun fact for you cars land here in dca they did a lot of research before they made the actual cars movies for pixar disney a lot of research many of the producers and writers and animators went on route 66 to get the actual feel so there's a lot of puns there's a lot of creativity here in cars land we've got cozy cozy cone here from the cars movie uh which obviously is trying to mimic the wigwams wigwam and i've got tomater over there and uh i just love the feel not only the cartoon remakes of stuff but also stuff that's really on route 66 this year yeah most of these don't open till 11 but we got popcorn concoctions there's con queso ice cream cones and churros this store front reminds me of uh harley's stop there in eric oklahoma uh it's not quite open just yet today lots of other places to buy souvenirs though of course uh flo's v8 cafe here gonna have lunch here after the ride it's really cool you get to park your food right in front of a gas pump i don't know if the price is right there 73 cents a gallon i feel like that's a little off for what we're paying right now heck yeah route 66 we got luigi's casa della tires is actually a ride i'm gonna skip that one for now and ramone's house of body art and of course the town of radiator springs has their founder out front stanley 1909 good old stanley all right you know what time it is guys i'm gonna go over here to quite possibly the best attraction in dca radiator springs racers honestly a 40-minute wait for this ride is not bad right now for the standby but might as well skip the line anyway all right i'm gonna go under the uh rusty ridge bridge here skipping the line guys skipping the line going under the bridge skipping the line that's a really cool fountain with the front of the radiator built into the rock like that pretty cool oh yeah there's a whole other part of that line that weaves inside there that's all that's more than 40 minutes all right time to get in the car look at the windshield with the eyes on it these are so cool we're gonna be racing all right here we go sorry wow now you look i'll tell you when to pitch it hard get it into the room come on very very fun fun ride that's a good ride all right i really want to eat at flows they are you have to use the mobile app once again so i i put in my order before the race now i say i'm here prepare my order and the next step they will start preparing it um this works as long as it's not during a busy lunch or dinner time if you're outside of that like right now it's 10 14 in the morning then it works really well i'm gonna be able to eat right now and not have to wait two hours to come back and then when all the restaurants get super busy from 11am to like 2pm then i'll be on the rides or there won't be as many people brilliant right just 50s theme like an ice cream parlor or something and we're going to window four here to pick up there we go see i also feel like you're paying for the experience here to eat next to the gas pumps you know all right so what did i get for early lunch well flo's famous three-piece fried chicken garlic mashed potatoes and some decorations heck yeah that's good that was my good face yeah freaking delicious they gave me a real metal fork and then a fake plastic knife okay let's try these uh garlic mashed potatoes i gotta throw it on the ground i have oh my gosh that's good they gave me a lot of decorations anybody else need any decorations but it is time to go to well a new part of dca to me um a lot has happened in this park this is one of the more rapidly growing parks that has several new areas and at least two more big a ticket attractions that i haven't seen so we're gonna head over to avengers campus in dca wow okay here's avengers campus here a new land all you uh avengers fans out there they got the old stark motors graphic on the side of the building here of the campus it's time to see what this suit can do nailed it and might have stepped on some actual nails ouch wow i love the trash cans how they fit the land they got a bunch of little trees my little one over there and then they got this big monster tree and i don't know what the story is behind it but caution gamma radiation you can see it's spilling and oozing i think it had something to do with why this one tree is so big i think so i think that's why webb slingers here new ride literally knowing nothing about this ride looks like it's got the same technology as rise of the resistance and the ratatouille ride but it's a it's a 3d ride so i'll show you guys some of the cue to take you with her once we get into the vehicle and i put on the glasses this can be blurry for you but i'll share as much as i can okay well it's always exciting when disney has a new ride for me to check out don't know what to expect in here all right we're in the first uh staging room here in the open house hey what's up i'm peter parker and here we got access to some pretty awesome tech projects vibrating from wakanda or this crazy alien juice stuff we have to impart the work and start technology vehicles already on it everyone head to the stingers and we'll team up to stop the spider boss before they destroy the cameras every little detail at disney oh that's cool that's cool all right we need some web vision heads up display glasses all right we're almost there those are the rigs we're getting into all right so my job is to sling the uh the web bots i guess all right so it's a lot similar to toy story mania if you're familiar with that one where you're blasting the bugs i don't know if that's the best use for this style of ride because it's trackless that's the same exact concept as a rise of the resistance just a weird game and my arm is really sore from doing that 100 times not to mention i don't think getting that extra pair of 3d glasses and putting it on the i don't think that did anything would be cool gopro had a little snap-on mount right there to kind of help those 3d things and you're just trying to share it think about that gopro all right my next lightning lane is available we got to go to guardians of the galaxy mission breakout next oh wow so this big building in front of us is where we're heading for the galaxy gardens of the galaxy ride it looks similar to a tower of terror back east actually i believe it's the same style of ride all right well this looks neat so the standby is uh 45 minutes i'm gonna go the lightning lane over here thank you i love guardians of the galaxy by the way i'm really interested in this this is gonna be fun it's gonna be fun raise your hands for security clearance big motivation for me to escape that was not part of the plan why of course i escaped for those of you who have not been paying attention the name's rocket one of the guardians of the galaxy the smart ones listen up he's gonna put you on a gantry lift for your tour i'm gonna sneak on top of your lift and take us all the way to the big old generator control room i'm gonna blast that thing and destroy all the control systems which will open up every cage in this freak show and free my friends our buddy mantis is in the getaway ship waiting for my signal and then we'll be on our merry way you got clearance let's roll wow oh my gosh wow thank you oh my gosh yes definitely not what i was expecting that was super fun that totally awesome man i'm gonna do that one again that's fine that's fun that that sense of gravity flicks you know that drops you and it's oh it's crazy but you know the lightning lane system they have in place it won't work if everybody in the park pays 20 to skip the line obviously there has to be enough people that always go and stand by to still make the lightning lane thing work so so don't do lightning lane if you're watching this don't don't do it guys spend 20 bucks extra it's worth it and don't skip this one guys just because it's like tower terror it is so unique and so fun my favorite part of this whole ride i couldn't thanks man thank you another compliment on my hat uh the rocket rocket like in the intro when he popped out during that the office room there rocket's awesome i need a rocket all right just checking out what they got honey fusion the regulator molecular meltdown particle fizz do they have a flight hey stop dang it well here let me i walked out of avengers campus found somewhere that has a flight of local beer so i'm doing that instead awesome thank you so much have a good day all right all right we got the la playa mexican lager the boysenberry lemonade hard seltzer the tiki time tropical wheat and the tropical hideaway sour i'm going to start with that tropical hideaway sour that's definitely sour tropical tikki time tropical wheat boysenberry lemonade art seltzer probably not gonna like this one i do like that actually i'll play a mexican lager close tie between these two but i am going to go with the tropical hideaway sour is my favorite we had like basically all right that was delicious and we'll try that again in a little bit it's the disney california adventure food and wine festival i'm not really into wine but i like food and craft beer oh yeah head over to a pixar pier pretty nice day here at the park uh kind of a a newer addition new newer to disney is a pixar pier here i need to ride that i need to i didn't do it last time they have ones that move and ones that don't move and we've got the incredi coaster over there as well that's my next lightning lane reservation this another one of those areas that obviously looks a lot better at night pixar pier we'll leave the other side of the sign oh it doesn't say pixar up here on the other side oh well oh my lanta there's they've got a mango dole whip here guys oh i can't wait oh eva and wally oh i love that that's special okay gotta go get this coaster because i only got like five minutes left on my reservation they only hold it for one hour go to the coaster then we'll come back and get that mango dole whip absolutely all right like that awesome there we go it's time to skip the line on this episode of nomadic fanatic a little bit of a line what five people that to carry your backpack and all your stuff with you but you know gravity keeps it on the floor whoa that's that's a good coaster that's a good coaster i might go on that one later again too i need another beer well actually i said i was going to get that dole whip first i wonder if they can add alcohol to my dole whip no no i'm really looking forward to that mango goal with let's go get it all right we're almost to the front of the line here at the abdominal or adorable snowman frosted treats and look at that menu they do have an adult version the chili lime mango margarita yes please look at this ridiculousness guys it's just you almost just gotta throw it right i mean no you gotta try it chili lime mango margarita fine i'll try it i have to do everything around here wow whoa that's bursting with flavor holy cow that's really good i love mango and don't you dare suggest that i'm gonna overdo it you can't because every day at disney is cheat day automatically well that's a bummer mr potato head is uh broken today he's i swear he's usually a lot more talkative like on every disney every disney video i've ever seen he's broken today all right all right all right i stood in line for a little bit for the ferris wheel over there then they told us that it was going to be uh out of order for a little bit anyways found a popcorn stand remember i brought my i was going to say refillable i brought my souvenir bucket which is not refillable i bought a 5.25 popcorn and it doesn't even fill it up all the way hmm interesting yeah i missed the old days of two dollar refills and i seriously earned that was an expensive spill right there and i got a coke zero actually um i'm not feeling so well not sure if it's a combination of that last coaster or it could have been the mango margarita don't i have a little bit of a headache so i'm gonna take about an hour off i don't have anything else planned for lightning lanes yet we'll come back to i need a little bit of a break there's no rush at disney no rush okay maybe this will make me feel better the festival beer garden yeah i like the sound of that yep the festival beer garden here does have a different uh beer flight offering there we'll try that one hey we've got live music here that's awesome there's my got my beer flight i got some pretzels and cheese sauce there too yeah i feel better already all right my favorite was the honey wheat blonde ale i know it's a light beer but that's my favorite one so that's what i went with with the 16 ounce um i'm gonna go head back around this area and see what there is to see cause i've never been over this part of the park past pixar beer but how great is it to see california back completely open smiling faces good weather you know i have no idea what's going on in the world outside this park news media current events no idea don't care wish you were beer i mean i wish you a beer too lots of live music all over the park that's pretty cool it's 3 20 p.m i'm gonna i'm gonna finish this beer and then uh i'm gonna exit the park actually that genie plus allowed me to get everything done that i wanted to get done except for maybe the ferris wheel but you know i i don't know i had a really long day at disneyland so today it gets to be a short day but i want to go hang out at uh downtown disney for a little bit so i'm gonna finish my beer enjoy the sunshine good weather it's a good day here and then uh legs at the park i got to see a lot of stuff today it's worth it hey on the way out we got nick wolf from zootopia one of my favorite characters very underrated disney film zootopia okay good have a good one if for some reason you skipped zootopia it's on disney plus it's an awesome disney movie all right one more thing to stop at on the way out a little bronze statue of mickey mouse and and walt disney here walt disney's original park the original theme park here at disneyland oh boys mickey mouse and his luggage yeah all right we are outside the park now and uh downtown disney has come to life yep my first stop i want to go into world of disney and see what i can see what i can find that wasn't in the parks actually just looking at uh phone covers i really like mickey source apprentice they don't have it in a 12 though and i like this one even better you guys know i've got han solo and carbonite on my fridge i got a phone case it's 3d han solo in carbonite again they don't have it for a 12 though because it'll be a while till i get back to a disney park a while could be a year it could be a month you know walt would be spinning in his grave if he saw these shot glasses alcohol in the parks he was so anti-alcohol and it wasn't until he passed that we started having beer and alcohol in all the parks he would not have anything to do with it even though he smoked i mean i am actually gonna get one thing i'm gonna get this new apple watch band for my apple watch with a bunch of mickeys on it yeah i'm gonna get that strange for me though because i've never spent any time here in downtown disney of anaheim it's just completely the opposite of what i'm used to in florida so i don't i don't have those go-to places like those comfort places where i go get parmesan chicken and a beer like lava lounge and stuff so i just got to pick something and try something new make a new memory i have a pretty good feeling that it i can't go wrong at the ballast point brewery and kitchen food and beer right all right we're heading up the stairs heading up the stairs to see what this place has to offer look at all those tabs yeah they do have a lot to choose from all right pretty good spot i got me a good starter here it's a local long fin lager it's a traditional german hell style lager it says it's very bready what does a bready beer mean it works though it does work all right while we're waiting for food i'm going to open this up make sure i got the right size i think i think i did i got a new disney mickey hat this is black and white and it's got four different mickeys of the times there's the first one there's sorcerer's apprentice there's the newest uh actually i think that's mickey mouse club there and him with the feather would be art of animation or maybe a disney studios or something but yeah that's that's my new mickey hat from the disney store and then my new t-shirt i like the retro old school but also this color matches my hamburger ears so that's my new disneyland shirt all right i ordered some food you're not ever gonna be able to guess what i ordered except for the fact that i've been wearing it all day also got the parmesan garlic french fries there yeah by the way the new uh band fits great this is the first band i've had that that rotates this way all the other ones i've already had are you know were really stiff i really like this one and it's got the traditional clasp on there so looking good mickey band and mickey dial there it looks great i love it all right grub was good i found uh the disney tales collection and they've always been notoriously absent of cat stuff they have lots of dog stuff but where was i just looking right here look it's actually a cat collar with little mickey's on there and fish heads and a mickey specific bell it's blue they got the purple one too and i think i think tara and opie need an upgrade don't you i love how the bells are shaped like little mickey heads you know that's the girl one that's the boy one they have different sound so i'll know who's running yeah i got to get him something got to give him something and in case you're looking for those cat callers they're here at the disney home store now the sun gets ready to set we're just about a half hour away looks like downtown disney really comes to life i got a splitsville over there just like on the east coast yeah all right well right next to wetzel's pretzels is where you'll find the pet id engraver although it doesn't say anything you can just come up to it there's the one opie's got and there's the one that tara has ironically i haven't changed my phone number in a while i usually end up having to change it about every six months because somebody i thought i trusted it turns out to be a troll but uh yeah and plus that also gives me a reason to come keep coming back to disney every six months almost to get a new pet id tag or two yeah all right and since i showed you the grand californian entrance inside the park here at uh downtown disney there's a little walkway you can see the monorail going by right now there's another entrance to the grand californian hotel so it seems like if you were going to stay in a hotel at disney and you're trying to pick one it looks like the grand californian would be the one to pick because it's right next to everything walking distance well they do have a lego store here with some uh neat artwork outside there's some toy story stuff there and they've got some beauty in the beast out here pretty cool that's a lot of legos a lot of individual legos i wonder what is going on with that building right there that is just complete it's like halfway through demolition and it's not like disney to not cover that usually they would raise it up so we don't see something like that but i don't know what they're working on there something i guess this is supposed to distract you from seeing like that's weird they have a cool looking star wars trading post there but i've already spent too much stuff on star wars toys a little live stage there and then uh all the rest of it is closed up into the two hotels there's disneyland hotel right there so we reached the end here i'm gonna go head back towards that starbucks get me a nice delicious hot beverage for the road that's right where you turn to get on the tram and go back all right i found starbucks no way there's nobody in here oh it smells so good i already got wait a minute that's different it says los angeles on it i got one that was very similar but says disneyland and this one says california no you know what i like the one i have i do i like the one i have better yeah hit record in this clip this is clip 200 of the day which means i have shot more individual clips than i did two days ago at disneyland which doesn't seem possible this is a there's a shorter day but i had a lot of iphone clips in there too that's right forgot about that then i got my hot mocha they told us when we were checking out they're like just so you know we're out of the sleeves so your hands gonna get warm and sure enough yeah that's a little horn without the cardboard sleeves i'm going to start making my walk over to the trams there because i don't know what the weight is going to be like and we got to get back and see those kitties all right this next tram is us such weird designs they look so weird i mean unique it's it's disney unique yeah let's go with that here shortly here we go in front of us that little sign right there says clean air vehicle powered by compressed natural gas well good for you disney good for you dismay you are clear goodbye disney goodbye all right i know you're eating right now tara but can we show off your new reflective tag with fishies and mickey ears and a little mickey bell there and it's purple and it's so cute opie how about yours with the blue and the blue fishies you like it yeah but i kind of want to steal my sister's food now dad so excuse me wow i brushed opie i gotta brush him more often at least two three times a week he's that long hair you know so he got a good brush and now he's really really soft terry you look really pretty in your new collar yes you do girl she's a good girl yeah oh you need water sorry about that sorry guys i don't know how i do those disney days over in florida all the time with the four parks these two parks wiped me out oh my gosh it's what time is it it's 11 45 in the morning i just woke up like a half an hour ago seriously ah
