Hi everyone, I just finished my business trip and have a few days off to explore kansai first we’re here in Kyoto if you just want arabica coffee but don’t want the long lines I recommend coming to this branch I still think this is one of the best coffees in Kyoto overall Kyoto has really good coffee look at this colour it’s so rich and smooth especially good after a early train now ready to head to our first stop autumn came so late this year, I’m already in christmas mood listening to christmas songs such clear blue skies we’re off to find a cafe hidden it’s really in the middle of nowhere I almost couldn’t find the entrance this is such a beautiful cafe surrounded by the forest everything looks so rustic and cosy the cafe is closed Mon-Tues they sell mostly drinks and small meals the inside is like a little cottage I ordered the hot sandwich set with tea it seems that you can also book a tea ceremony here it’s a mochi and red bean toast I had some time to kill before my next destination so enjoying some reading and tea the weather seems to have taken a sharp turn raining on a sunny day the weather has been so crazy now it’s so gloomy we’re headed to visit a really famous temple it’s meant to have one of the best views in autumn and I had to book almost a month in advance but even the view leading up to the temple was so nice and this is the amazing view from the temple the reflection from the table makes it even more beautiful the autumn leaves were’t fully ready, but the gradient looked just as nice if you come around 4:30, you can also see the night light up time to head back it’s time for some dinner dinner menu is gyukatsu there was about a 20 minute wait for a table I got the classic set the meat comes half raw, so you can cook it to your liking it comes with refillable rice, cabbage and miso soup the meat was really juicy and tender I also like that they give you so many different sauces so you can try different variations and we’re not done yet! we have one more stop for today :( we’re going on board a night train to see some autumn leave light up! you also have to book the ticket in advance since it’s only available for a short time during autumn it’s called the Eizan Train Autumn leaves light-up special train it’s like a normal train ride but the lights turn off as it approaches the light up the whole ride is about 2 hours and has a few pit spots along the way it’s such a unique way to experience autumn leaves it’s freezing today I’m at Nishiki makets to get some breakfast these are my absolute favorite soymilk donuts I came last time to get them as well but they were closed they cook it fresh for you on the spot looks so good! they are fluffy, warm and slightly sweet it’s aways fun to have a look around the market here there is so many interesting foods getting some egg rolls as well these skills it came in some soup freshly roasted chestnuts but I was a bit too full to eat more now off to get my morning coffee another clear blue day (for now) this is one of my favourite cafes in Kyoto I used to come here a lot when I lived in Osaka the food and coffee is great but mostly the atmosphere is perfect it also opens at night another good coffee in Kyoto best way to warm up now off to our first stop for today we’re headed to another temple with a great autumn view the temple has a beautiful zen garden with a stunning view of autumn foliage the colours are so beautiful everything is so calm and peaceful this little statue is so cute there is also a little hill behind the shrine which is meant to have an amazing view of the city it started to rain a little but the view was stunning none the less I think this temple isn’t very well known but it’s totally worth a visit would be even better around sunset now we’re off to find a place for lunch although the temple was beautiful, it was freezing cold needed someting to warm up so I got the tom yum goong I think there is nothing better than a bowl of noodles on a cold day now our last stop for today is at Kiyomizudera they just started the autumn night light up today I also wanted to catch the sunset there but I was not anticipating this crowd it was basically a line going all the way up but somehow just made it before the sunset you can’t buy the tickets online for the light up, but it was quite quick I think this will have to be added to my top sunsets it was gone within 5 minute i recommend trying to get here about 30 mins before sunset and waiting for the light up it’s definitely crowded but worth the visit I was so cold at this point finding something warm again and it started to rain this is a popular tsukemen shop there was about a 15 min wait finally made it in tsukemen are noodles you dip in a thick sauce and Kyoto is famous for it this looks so good lastly adding in the hot soup today is my last day in Kyoto I’m starting to get a bit sick.. hoping this will help planning to take it easy today I’m heading to another favourite cafe of mine I think I come here almost every time I visit I like revisiting places when I travel makes me feel nostalgic I ordered the french toast with bacon and egg and a latte this looks so intense good as usual perfect balance of salty and sweet headed to one last stop: Sannenzaka Kyoto had been super crowded lately especially this autumn season it you’re planning a visit, I recommend booking everything in advance and be prepared to face the crowds! I always wanted to try this matcha tiramisu I thought it would be over hyped but it was delicious I’m going to enjoy my matcha and call it a day we still have a long journey to go! See you in the next video :)
