ARMENIAN TRAVEL SERIES .. SHAKI WATER FALLS & TATEV MONASTERY
hello friends today we are sharing seventh video of Armenian travel series. Today we are visiting one of the beautiful waterfalls in Armenia named Shaki waterfall. and from there our destination is towards Tatev monastery hope all of you liked the previous episodes of our travel series. please watch this video and share us your valuable thoughts. From Noravank monastery we are travelling towards Shaki waterfalls . Both the sideways of the road is farming i think there are cornfields on both sides some areas are full on grape fields which was notified by our driver. finally we reached shaki waterfalls. This Shaki waterfall is present in the Sisian province of Armenia and the village itself is named after this waterfall.
the village and the waterfall has the same name. wherever we have visited there is a particular area for car parking. which is very organized and neatly maintained. it is different from the usual scene at our country dumbed with plastic bottles.
there are no littering around the area. no place can be found without cleanliness. so we parked our car and from there we have to walk a 300 meter distance to reach the waterfall. there are few visitors, while we were aheading we saw people returning.
after visiting the waterfall. alongside of our walk we can see a canal flowing which carries water from the fall.This is not a waterfall from a huge river . but the atmosphere is very calm & quiet we felt a very pleasant vibe there. on our way we stopeed to wash our face the water was icy cold and fresh which helped us overcome the noon time heat . . we reached there around 12 :00 in the afternoon. the atmosphere was hot and after washing the face & hand there was an energy boost.
while we reached near we could hear the noise of the waterfall there is some more time to walk so we reach our destination so after freshening up we walked towards the waterfall. i have observed that all the areas around the mountain are filled with rose plants. the rose plants are very thickly grown like a small forest. in our country we consider rose as an ornamental plants which are grown indoors and outdoors. but in Armenia we have seen it growing wild and bushy. I imagined those entire plants flowered all over the mountains, such a scene would be a delight to our eyes.
so after walking alongside of the canal at a distance we can see a small view of the waterfall it is not falling from a high distance but still it is beautiful to watch eventhough it is summer the water current seems strong and high the waterfall is happening from a short distance we see the waterfall as a small line the beauty of the waterfall is captured in my camera the captured view have to be shared with all people the beauty captured through our eyes are much fascinating than through camera we spend some time there we met few people making home made wine. we bought some wine from them and has tasted it here at the falls we spend some time for photo session we had ample of time there before we left to our next destination. the location was very pleasant and interesting if anybody plan to visit Armenia with family you should not miss Shaki waterfall. most of you might has visited other famous waterfall but at shaki the feel was different. the water was flowing milk alike and the water droplets was hitting us by means of a small wind it made me more excited i went towards the topmost point which flowed like a small river then the water falls from the top more wider. we spend more time there and planning towards next destination we reached towards our vehicle we washed our face again while returning to freshen up before nearing the vehicle all tiredness are gone after face washing we felt an energy boost we made new friends as it was the second day journey with same people all were very happy & jolly mood.
from here we left towards tatev monastery there is almost 1 hour travel so we might reach there around 3 pm so we can spend there till 6:30 pm we can spend more time in Tatev as discussed earlier we reached Tatev the parking area is huge this is one of the famous tourist destination in Armenia not only Tatev monastery but also the cable car is one of the major attraction the monastery is located in Tatev village the monastery share stories since 9 th century we moved towards the ticket counter fully surrounded by apple garden we walked through apple garden first time walking through these many apples apples are very ripe ready to pluck the weather was as if ready to rain area was neat and clean no littering around we will feel fresh we walked towards ticket counter. the driver helped us fetching our ticket from the counter then we paid the amount to him and thanked so from here we take cable car to reach Tatev monastery so we walked around within 15 minutes we have to reach our time for cable car entry after 15 minutes so we wandered around the apple garden that was exciting we plucked few apples walking around we shoot video and spent 15 minutes there we can see cable car to and fro it is connected by an iron rod after 15 minutes we spoke to driver that we will meet later walked towards cable car we spent 7000 Armenian dram which is equivalent to 66 AED indian rupees around 1400 as ticket charge this is the worlds longest cable car it has entry in Guinness world record same time there are cable cars taking people on both directions this is one of the longest in the world 16 kilometer long cable car entry in Guinness world record within 12 minutes we reach to and fro so our time arrived for cable car entry no much rush was observed we showed our tickets we entered in the cable car which allowed almost 20 to 25 peoples it is a big one we can see the Tatev village below we can reach even by road to Tatev monastery but all would like to enjoy a ride through cable car both the monastery as well as cable car ride was exciting we can view the beauty of the valley the cable car service is very high from the valley we reached Tatev within 12 minutes very beautifully built cable car station was very exciting and the surrounding was full with apple garden it is not a common site at our place the ripe apple was not common to watch so we are excited while walking we can see a part of monastery side walks we can see villagers their livelihood selling handcrafts fruits variety of pictures for selling they are familiar with bollywood actors sharukh khan salman and amir khan when they understood we are from India they identifies us as indians there were so many people we communicated by action that we will buy while returning and we walked towards Tatev tatev is a 3 complex monastery it is the church of saint paul and peter then saint gregory the illuminator and holy mother of god these three church complex forms tatev few people started plucking apples and started eating we went to view inside this church complex is built in the 9th century upto 10 and 13th century this complex has taken the role as a university the students who studied also stayed in the church complex this is one of the oldest and commendable church of armenia once we enter the monastery there is a spacious plain stretch of land and three church sideline we can see we went inside we were not in a hurry this is our final destination today so we have enough time to roam and we are planning to have dinner before reaching hotel room this place is 300 km away from Yerevan city so we knew we will reach Yerevan at night so we were relaxed and we went through all the surrounding areas there were some prayers going on inside the church so we didn't video the inside of the church as we might disturb the people praying inside Tatev monastery is located at the top of a steep mountain cliff we can watch the outside areas through small lattice so that we can see the valley there was some area which seemed like a kitchen where food might be cooked now its empty oven and place where breads are made we have to walk very cautiously there are so many deep potholes so we have to take care while walking electricity is not there .natural skylight reaching inside so we have to take care while walking or else we might fall in the hole few are closed but still few are open we captured everything possible without any risk the passage doors was not tall enough we had to bent and walk this might be a dining hall at older times they might bring everything cooked and ate from here all these building were mind blowingഒക്കെ and amazing the roof was made with stone carved in a semi circle shape the architecture of armenian monastery is wonderful the valley is so steep we can hear the river flowing through the valley i captured the video of their kitchen complex we went another room where breads are prepared there was an oven in the room there is no roof over we can see the dust all over there was no light around the room itself was dark with. a small hole the holes inside the room was to get rid of the cold fire inside the hole to prevent the cold temperature the views here are different there are so many other carved thing surrounding or some old leftovers of any portion it seemed like a chess board there was nothing written for us to understand i walked around to get an idea we are at the top. of a mountain cliff we understand while we watch from here it is fascinating to see the monastery which is build in the 9 th century over the mountain cliff is very much appreciable we would never understand how they might have built this monastery we are at the top of a cliff i imagined how it might look during winter season i imagined the beauty we do not experience the winter season or the ice filled area in our place here might be beautiful we left Tatev monastery we walked back our tour today ends and Tatev is the last one visited so we have to rest for two days after that we have to decide two ays rest required as we are tired of long journey we went to pluck apple we took permission from security before plucking we tasted the apples this was a chance which we never experienced before we malayalis dont have apple grown at our place there are so many places in India were apples are grown and cultivated but not in Kerala this was an exciting experience we plucked an apple and tasted it as there was an urge inside there are so many people experiencing the same securities allow everyone to enjoy we reached near cable car and we have to find our car parked area within 12 minutes we will reach other side on the way to Yerevan we will have dinner from any restaurant all were ready about the decision all were friendly since we were traveling with the same team since yesterday all know each other very well and all enjoyed we reached the parking area we wished to have a tea and searched for a restaurant we walked around so near to the station we found one we went there this restaurant was just behind the ticket counter of cable car a tea shop in a small comlex a funny incident took place we asked whether they had water just to wash our face the person told us more than water milk is available for free we had tea from there we spend some time talking with him we started our journey towards yerevan the restaurant which we had dinner had the best ambience ever we had in Armenia a restaurant surrounding a river there are cottages nearby the river many people can come together and enjoy the vibe the atmosphere there was enjoyable this was the last day of our two day trip all our team members enjoyed very well. we all had a beautiful evening in recent times we didnt enjoy this much the driver played a major role in everybody's comfort he was very cooperative he took us to this restaurant otherwise we would never have visited this hidden gem of a restaurant he knew the people working there so they arranged a cottage for us along the riverside we reached late so food was almost finished but they managed to prepare food for us as the driver insisted them and they had a special consideration we covered all monasteries of Armenia we covered all distant areas as well in Armenia now we have to view yerevan city and its surrounding places we had a wonderful experience and the best evening the driver brother was really a wonderful person so meet you in another journey
