Arab Traditional Food aur Canadian Parliament ka Visit | Last Day in Canada
Lamb and chicken combination of mandi. This bridge connects Ottawa to Gatineau. Gatineau is another city. We're in main Ottawa right now. This is a brick oven here.
Everything is being freshly made. Assalam-u-alaikum, I am Zia Tabarak. I am in Canada's capital, Ottawa.
A new day, a new city. The Parliament building is in Ottawa. And there is a lot to see here. And my old friend Rizwan has joined me.
How are you? Welcome to Ottawa. Thank you, how are you? Good by Allah's Grace. The weather is really good. What are we going to explore? Ottawa is the capital city. And it is also a historical city.
Indeed. We'll see the Parliament and Rideau Canal. And your favorite mandi. Insha'Allah, mandi is sold here. I haven't had mandi on the whole tour. Look at this beautiful building behind us.
The architecture is awesome. And I'll join the Halal Ribfest in the evening. Then it's my return to Karachi to Insha'Allah.
You'll see me in Karachi in the next video. So let's utilize today to the fullest. So let's go. His and mine relationship is very old. Since 2007. We were in the same office. Dawn News.
Then he went on to different destinations. And I went to different destinations. Today we have met after a long time. I'm feeling really good, right? Our career's dawn started at Dawn. At least mine. Masha'Allah we have an old friendship.
True, and Ottawa is like Islamabad. Very quiet and peaceful. Though we're in Downtown right now.
But it's very quiet here as well. The hustle bustle that we see in Toronto. That isn't here. I think that. Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver are in one category.
Yeah they're in one category. Being a Karachiite, Toronto for me. It's good for vacations. Come here, enjoy, nice scenery and all. But when it comes to living, then Toronto.
Let me know what you think in the comments. First we are at Lebanese Village Bakery. Different pies are sold here. And this is a Lebanese bakery. Breakfast items are made more here.
Let's see. This is their most famous item. These are all pies. It has different combinations. Zaatar, meat, cheese, vegetable, meat and cheese. Zaatar and cheese and.
These are freshly being made here. Look, this is just cheese. This one is only cheese? Only cheese. Which one is the most-selling one? Meat and cheese. Meat and cheese, and is meat lamb? It's beef. Beef okay.
There's a brick oven here, everything's cooking fresh. Can you give us one meat and cheese? Yeah sure. This is traditional Lebanese pie? Traditional Lebanese pies, yes.
You are from Lebanon? I'm from somewhere else. Okay. But it's Lebanese food.
And for how long has this bakery been here? 14 years. 14 years? Oh. These are all the meat pies here. Awesome, this is how the pies go in. This is probably the most buget friendly and halal.
Street food. The vibe is like street food too. Absolutely. This pie was cooked with meat.
He added some cheese, masala and lemon. It's ready. Okay.
It's ready, let's try this pie. We gotta eat mandi too. So we thought of having it half and half.
It's very delicious, wow. Kind of like how desi pizza is. But this is a very healthy thing. It has no extra ingredients. Just meat and cheese and they baked it a bit.
And masala and lelpn. That's it. And it is very tasty. This is the thing, to produce more flavor. While using the least amount of ingredients.
Amazing. And it costs only $4. Which is very very cheap.
If you buy one pie, you had your lunch. Exactly. I think it's very filling, cheese and meat. Nice man. We are at Al Habibi Restaurant. And it is a Syrian restaurant.
We'll try to get special mandi here. There's Syrian food too. The restaurant's vibe looks pretty good. And they have outdoor seating too. You can sit indoors too.
Let's see what's up. Hello brother, how are you? I'm good, how are you? I'm good, what's your name? Addeen. Addeen? This is your restaurant, right? Wow, Masha'Allah Masha'Allah! What a vibe man. Beautiful. This is a really beautiful restaurant.
I wasn't expecting, Rizwan, That the vibe inside will be like this. Indeed. They've decorated the ceiling too.
Their Syrian carpets and textures. And their local culture. They've used bricks. Bricks on which Arabic houses used to be built. Exactly. They have used those stones.
So you get a whole Syrian and Arabic vibe inside. The lighting is awesome. They have a buffet here. And this glass thing they've specially made here.
Imagine when it's snowing or raining here. And you're eating here. Then how awesome that experience would be? I haven't had lunch yet.
Hopefully the food will be good too. But I think that the vibe and atmosphere. Considering that, coming here is a must. Sorry guys this is my younger brother. This is a Syrian restaurant. We have been in business for 3.5 years.
We have a buffet every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Okay. From 5 to 10. And we also have a la carte at the same time. But I have to go somewhere else.
We'll try the a la carte menu. Thank you so much. Let's check out how they're preparing the food. All the salads are here. This is the mandi sauce.
Okay. We have the salad that comes with the sauce. This is the mandi's rice? Yes. Go ahead now. This is chicken mandi.
Oh so this is a combination? Lamb and chicken combination of mandi. Nuts on top too, almonds and walnuts. Beautiful. Hummus? This is hummus. Is this sumak? Sumak and olive oil.
Wow, chicken taouk. The way we make it. Chicken taouk in the making.
Garlic. Garlic in hummus is solid. Because it comes with taouk. Yellow rice comes with taouk. Grilled vegetables.
This is? Simsim. Too good. Our delicious lunch is here.
And like I said. That the vibe is really good. So the presentation of the food.
Is just as amazing by them. Especially the smoke was very interesting. And it's a very colorful lunch. We have chicken and lamb mandi.
And chicken/shish taouk. As you know that in Turk, Iraqi, Syrian, Arabic food. Salad has great importance. And it should be in our food too.
Salad is pretty loaded. I will start with the mandi. Which is why we are specially here. To try the mandi. This is mandi's sauce which I'll take a bit. Tomato sauce, bismillahir-rahmanir-raheem.
I took a bit too much sauce in the first bite. But the rice are really good. Look at the meat, very tender. Too good.
I'll have some chicken too. Look how colorful the rice are. Almonds, pistachios and walnuts. They're all served with it. The chicken is just as tender.
As chicken with skin is in mandi. It's the same way. They have smoked these nuts. So while the mandi and chicken have their own taste. But these smokey roasted nuts. That's causing a very different taste of the mandi.
Though I have had a lot of mandi. But like this with roasted nuts. I think it is served only in a few places. And their sauce is very tangy too. Keep using some sauce with it. Delicious.
They've served hummus. Hummus too is a very delicious thing. And every food of theirs has hummus. Salad. Wow.
Food's great man. Shish taouk has pickles, garlic and hummus. More salad and yellow rice with it.
Some shish taouk. And some garlic with it. Pickle in my hand.
And let's taste shish taouk. Sauce's great! Wow! The reason why they serve so much pickles and salad. It's actually a whole combination.
Usually what our taste is. Chicken tikka is served as it is. The spices that it has are already in it. But here, when the salad and everything combine. And that combo makes the full taste. This is a uniqueness in Arabic food.
I'll take some of its rice too. Some garlic. They've served fresh juice. What is it made of? Let's taste it. I think it's mix fruit, very refreshing. This restaurant is not mandi-specific.
Mandi is in the menu here. But there are other restaurants too, like Yemen Gate. Hadrhalmaut is another restaurant. They aren't as big, they're smaller. But they're Yemeni restaurants.
People recommended me those as well. You can go wherever you like. They said that bbq was their specialty here. So there may be more items in the bbq too. But this combination.
And the taste of mandi with roasted nuts. Delicious, and we enjoyed here. Got refreshed. And the way the presentation was. And welcomed us, awesome. Loved it.
We had an amazing lunch. Masha'Alalh we have the owner of the restaurant as well.
