We are trying some street food here in this market. There are some options of meats, fish and some weird insects too. And I have chosen fish for myself.
It will be a good day. Fry rice for breakfast then McDonald's for dinner. No McDonald's. No McDonald's.
Assalam Alekum Everyone and welcome back to the channel from Yuan Yang. It's a hill station famous for its rice fields. We reached here yesterday. We couldn't see the rice fields much because it was the beginning of the season.
But we did see the rice terraces. And I tried to show you all that in the previous vlog. I hope you liked it. Today is our 28th day in China. We are going to a city called Jinghong. It's not far from the border; about 500 km from here.
It will take us about 8 hours to reach there. We will travel on the national road and then take the highway. We will try to reach there by evening. There is a very famous night market in the city. We will explore that area as well. And then our time in China will slowly come to an end.
Anyway, we have packed our stuff and are ready to leave. Let's take you to Jinghong. Bismillah. In the name of Allah. Prayer for the journey O Allah, may we have a good day today. It's a long ride.
But I hope we will have a good day. There are a lot of low clouds here early in the morning. See how beautiful these paintings in these tunnels are.
And it feels as if there's a lot of light in here. The colors are used in such a way. We have finally found the highway after about 50 km. I am really tired today. Although I slept for 7 hours last night.
But my body is still aching. We have been traveling continuously for the last 28 days. This is what China is all about. No matter which city you are traveling to, there will most likely be a highway for that route. They have connected small and big cities with national roads. And then with highways.
The network of roads is amazing. We are about 1.5 km from here. We have found a coffee shop. Let's get some coffee from there.
I am really sleepy. The weather is a little warm today. It must be around 30 degrees. I don't know why but I get sleepy in the heat. This is a small random city. But they have made it so beautiful.
Our navigation has failed. There is a supermarket here. We should have got something from here. But let's see. It was very cold when we entered China in the beginning. Within a month, we have reached a region where it is 30 degrees.
That's a big change in just one country. The body is not used to the heat yet. It will take some time to adapt. I think that would be great. I'm not a big fan of winters. 25-26 degrees is ideal.
But we don't get it everywhere. The weather is fine. But it made me really drowsy. So, I got a cup of coffee and a chocolate.
We didn't get much to eat here. I think this is the only thing we get here. This delicious drink has been made from rice and yogurt. We will keep eating these small things on the way. We will reach there by evening. I think we spent around $5-6 on coffee and everything.
Here I have seen women who have covered their whole body, even arms. I think they are big on skin care. There is a woman on her scooter. She has covered not just her face, but her whole skin.
Look at the woman sitting on the scooter. I think she is also a woman. You can say that she is wearing sort of a burka.
At first, I didn't get it when I saw some women. Then I realized that they have covered their faces because of the sun. We have to go this way.
We are about 30 km away from Jinghong. And we have reached the check post. We were told that it's a big check post. We will have to get ourselves registered here. It's possible that they will check our luggage as well. But let's see.
These look like automated gates. I don't see any official here. Let's park here. It will take some time. Oh well. It almost hit my head.
He told me to go ahead. It was a narrow escape. I'm from Germany. He is from Spain. And he is from Belgium.
He asked where are you from. But he has my passport. That's it for the check post.
It will take at least half an hour to reach the hotel. But the ride has been great. The area has changed completely. There were forests everywhere. I can feel the South East Asian vibes here.
Every city here looks beautiful at night. Because they illuminate their buildings in a really cool way. Let's follow him.
Although my navigation tells me to go the other way. It's okay. It's not that far. We might as well see the night life of this city in the meantime.
These are hotels and apartments. From a distance, it looked like a temple. We are so lucky to have two Halal restaurants here. We will get Halal food right next to the hotel. That is, if we want to eat here. We can also go some other place.
This is our room. It's very clean and nice. They have given us a small table. They have kept water for drinking. I don't know what the view is like from the outside.
The wash basin is in the room. Because the washroom is relatively small. They have given us a small wardrobe as well.
Let me show you the washroom. Overall, it's nice and clean. Yasin and I have left for the night market. I have heard a lot about this market.
As soon as you enter the city, you feel like you are in South East Asia. Even the way people dress here is different. Because it feels like summer here. People have come in shorts.
It was a little wintery at the back. The atmosphere is totally different here. The food is different. The cultures are different. Let's see the night life here.
I mean the night market. Let's see what interesting things we can find here. Overall, I find this city to be very lively. There are cafes, restaurants and bars all around. It's a very different Chinese city compared to other cities we have visited. When you visit a big country, it has town close to border, or when you visit a city with different cultures, it becomes unique.cities.
That's why I find this city different from other Chinese cities. Also because it is a bordet town. They have blocked all the traffic on this side.
I think this is the road to the night market. They have made a walking street. It's good. There is no traffic. Overall, you don't see a lot of noise and traffic in China. Mostly, people use electric cars, rickshaws and bikes. So you don't hear a lot of traffic.
As this city has South Asian vibe, even the fruits here are like the ones there. This is the first time I have seen mangoes in China. Of course, there must be mangoes here. But I have never seen them.
There are different types of bananas here. The fruits that you see mostly in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, you can find them here. This is actually a huge fruit store.
People look at me curiously. But nobody forbid me from making videos anywhere. I can see some street food ahead. Let's see what we can find here.
There are not many things here, that would make you worried. But there are some things like that here. Look at this.
Our people don't eat this. But people eat it here. There are a lot of insects here. I am not sure what they are called. These are not for us to eat.
Yasin So, Yasin, if you eat some of these... I will pay for you. No I pay for you for everything if you want to try. There are some things here as well.
They look beautiful but I am not sure if they are edible. Look how nicely they have welcomed us. There is mostly seafood here. And there are chicken legs as well. A lot of people eat this. This is a huge market.
I thought it would be a small area. But there are a lot of lanes on the sides. This is the main walking street. And there are lanes on different sides, where people have set up stalls. And I think this is the Golden Pagoda. It's a Buddhist temple.
On the backside of this Golden Temple, you can see the biggest area of this market. And I think it's the most crowded and interesting area. There are small stalls here.
There is a river on the other side. So this is the market on the river bank. But it's very interesting. It's full of people right now. Let's walk a little. That's the Golden Pagoda over there.
And people, dressed in local attire, are standing here to take pictures. The dress here is quite different from that in the rest of China. Of course, it is unique to each region.
Mostly, we can see souvenirs everywhere for tourists. But I can't see anything interesting that I should buy before leaving China. I saw coconut. Let's try this too. We are trying some street food here.
From the options available in this market. There are some meat options here. There are fish and some weird insects too. I have chosen fish for myself.
They have added some vegetables too. The fish looks good. So I thought to try it.
I don't know the name of this fish. I have tried this kind of fish before. Yasin and I are trying this fish. There are some other seafood options here. But I think fish is the best option.
So 110 yuan is paid. So our food is here. This is Yasin's fish and this is mine. It looks really good. They have given some chilies too.
I won't eat it because it is too spicy. Let's try this. He has ordered some vegetables too. This is really good.
It is a little spicy. Not that much spicy. It is spicy. The vegetables too are very spicy.
I have to eat it with my hands. Yasin, it is very spicy. Very very spicy. Wherever you go in the world, you will definitely find Pakistanis. This is a small town. There are about 5-6 stalls of Pakistani guys in this market.
He is Arslan. Where do you get these items from? Pakistan. Sillanwali. Where are you from? Pakistan? All these things? We have our own factory in Sillanwali.
How is life here? Alhamdulillah. We are happy. I have been here for 16 years. That's good.
Some people want to go to USA, some want to go to Canada. I am comfortable here. That's good. If you are happy.... What else do you want?
My business is running nicely. From the five stalls you saw in there, four belong to us. Okay. Yeah I just had a bird's eye view. They belong to my elder brother, a cousin and my friend's son. Are they all family members? Yes. It was good to meet you.
Remember me in your prayers. Allah Hafiz. Time to go back to our hotel. This brings us to the end of our last day in China. It has been 28 days. Tomorrow is the 29th day.
We will cross the border to Laos. The border is about 180 km from here. I have put my best effort in making these vlogs. You must have liked all my China vlogs. I have worked hard on them. China is a huge country.
It is impossible to see the whole country all at once. Especially on a motorcycle. And here you need a tour guide which restricts your movement. If I get a chance to travel alone in China, and without the need to hire a tour guide, I think it will be one of the best countries in the world.
I want to explore this country with great enthusiasm. We will definitely visit China in the future. We will see other areas, especially Xinjiang, Tibet and other big cities. The plan is to try and cross the border to Laos tomorrow. I'd like to reach Japan as soon as possible. When and how will I get there...
You'll get to see that in the upcoming vlogs. Even I don't have any confirm info yet. Some plans are in progress. Remember me in your prayers. Like, Subscribe and Share. Allah Hafiz.
