Amangiri (Sanskrit for peaceful mountain) enjoys a secluded location in the southwestern part of the USA After a turn off the highway, guests arrive at an unmarked gate From the entrance gate, the resort is approached via a winding road through starkly beautiful desert scenery Jaw-dropping mesas, ridges, canyons and gorges form one of the most dramatic natural sceneries in the world We're arriving at Amangiri, the USA's most exclusive luxury hotel Have you ever stayed at Amangiri? Leave a comment Upon arrival at the hotel, guests are escorted via a majestic staircase from the arrival courtyard to a magnificent breezeway The breezeway's far end features an open wall, framing the otherworldly desert landscape as a work of art At the center of Amangiri is the Pavilion, which houses the reception area, the dining room and an elegant lounge Situated on an elevated plinth at the center of the Pavilion is a library, with comfy sofas and shelves of books & magazines The Pavilion's lounge area is spread over several alcoves, with massive floor-to-ceiling windows offering sublime views One side of the Pavilion looks out over the swimming pool (I'll explore the stunning pool area later in this video) Amangiri’s 34 suites are situated in two wings, which sweep from each side of the resort’s main pavilion Sixteen suites are located within the Desert Wing and another 18 suites are located within the Mesa Wing Amangiri was developed by three well-established architects: Marwan Al-Sayed, Wendell Burnette and Rick Joy The three architects were brought onto the project by Bernt Kuhlmann, one of the current owners of Amangiri The three architects worked together on this awe-inspiring site with legendary hotelier Adrian Zecha (founder of Aman Resorts) Together, the architects and Zecha created a bold hotel that honors the magic of southern Utah's desert landscape I stayed in this room during my holiday (room category: Mesa suite) The suite features a kingsize bed, a desk and a sitting area Welcome amenities: apples & sweets The suite opens onto a terrace, which is equipped with two loungers and a firepit The ensuite bathroom features twin rain showers, two basins and a soaking tub set against a window Amangiri’s central guest area is built around a spectacular pool The pool is surrounded on three sides by a lounging terrace featuring king-sized daybeds and comfortable sun loungers The pool is wrapped around a rock formation, and almost resembles a natural spring in the remote canyonlands Amangiri represents everything that its mother brand Aman  tries to achieve: tranquility, exclusivity, and a sense of place Aman is one of the world’s most exclusive hotel brands and manages a collection of fabulous resorts across the globe Aman Resorts are known for their exquisite attention to detail, minimalist design, heartfelt service, and exceptional locations Among Aman’s habitués is a group of passionate repeat guests who call themselves ‘Aman junkies’ Adjacent to the pool is an outdoor hot tub, which sits right next to the resort’s open-air campfire pavilion Let's have lunch on the pool terrace (a stay at Amangiri includes all meals) Right next to the Pavilion is an open air lounge, which is ideal for enjoying the sunset or the star-filled night sky A walkway leads from the Pavilion to Amangiri's stunning spa The Aman Spa at Amangiri is a destination unto itself, providing a serene setting for relaxation and rejuvenation The spa's dimly lit reception area leads to a series of pavilions Amangiri's spa has five indoor treatment rooms A 'flotation pavilion' offers a Jacuzzi located at one end of a large reflection pool Amangiri's spa menus have been created to reflect the elements of the Navajo culture and healing traditions A key feature of the spa is the 'water pavilion', featuring an indoor lounge and an outdoor heated step pool Next to the spa is a fully equipped gym Let's return to Amangiri's main pavilion,  which is also home to an art gallery and a fashion boutique Wildlife workshops are offered at Amangiri, providing hands-on introduction to the region's fascinating creatures Let's have dinner at Amangiri's dining room, which is set within the Pavilion (food is served indoors or on the terrace) The next morning ... A la carte breakfast is served at the Pavilion Amangiri is surrounded by untouched scenery which lies at the gateway to major national parks in the Colorado Plateau Guests are welcome to explore the property at their own pace along 12 miles (20 km) of designated trails
