Before I do anything, before I have breakfast Pack the bike anything, I'm first going to walk across the street and go and see what I came here for Amazing Oh wow, so I am now walking in a caravanserai This fortified structure was built in 1229 and it was along the silk route So this caravanserai was partly destroyed by a fire but then it was rebuilt in 1278 And caravanserais like these were not only built to provide a safe passage for caravans traveling between Europe and Asia But it was also very much a place where there could be exchanges of cultural practices And wow, it is restored beautifully Can you imagine that eight centuries ago people would stop over here with their animals and their goods On their way either to the Far East or on the way to Europe It's huge hey See there's all these rooms here No windows might as well be prison cells just with extremely high ceilings Look at that What's wrong? You want breakfast huh? You want breakfast? Yeah me too Life is tough So in 1278, this was actually the biggest caravanserai in Turkey And travelers could stay up to 3 days for free So there was free lodging, free food There was a hamam inside, bedrooms, uh a dining hall, a small mosque Everything that any traveler could need or want amazing, right? Free lodging, very nice Anyway um, breakfast, where can I eat something? Yeah, I'm heading towards Cappadocia, and I've been to Cappadocia before on my first ride through through Turkey But Cappadocia is huge and I've only been to like the main area, the first time But there's a lot more areas to see, so I think that's what I'm going to do today Salam alaikum. Woo.It's coming for me Okay, I can't go back this way. 'Cause they'll be waiting for me Wow This is so cool Not sure how far this track goes actually Maybe it ends here? That's all carved out and there, as well Incredible, this is the Ihlara gorge Look at all those birds Incredible place, right? Now I have to pass those two dogs again 'Cause I can't escape on this side.. unfortunately So I'll have to face them head on These little things are really tricky 'Cause the drop is huge! Here they come Two of them You can see their tails.. on top of the grass Oh, here's the one coming These dogs! Oh, remember how bad it was with the dogs in South America? Oh, I was chased! And then.. yeah, in Africa didn't really have many problems with dogs
There's not so many dogs around, I suppose But uh yeah, here in Turkey definitely lots of dogs And I really like dogs. I love dogs But not when they show me their teeth and start chasing me Then I like them a little less So unique and fascinating Look at these little streets Isn't this so cool This way Down here Uh oh Oh no is this stairs I knew they were going to come at some point How many? Not very steep I think Um uh oh I don't know where I am According to my navigation this should lead somewhere I'm not so sure. How earth I'm going to get out of here? It's all steps, oops I think this is a guest house.. I'm not sure Did I just walk into someone's home? No Ah okay, no problem. I came in so Okay Wait Oh this is not going to be easy! Okay Go, go, go! So I thought, oh few steps and then a street And then I came and I'm like, it's not a street So now I go up here? - Follow me Oh okay, I'll follow you, yeah Better Okay Ah in here Okay All right Frankie is rescued, that was so stupid I just thought looking for my navigation that those stairs were leading to a small alley where I had to be uh, but then yeah, when I was already halfway there I realized, oh dear this is the wrong way Anyway, Frankie is fine and I have oh, before I show you my room Look at the view first And then my room is here Then I have a little seating area. I am sleeping in an original cave How cool is this? I mean you kind of have to right? Knowing the area that I'm in. And then this probably they made the bathroom here Quite a nice bathroom Yeah, sleeping in a cave tonight Wow, this is the restaurant So I just had an amazing dinner to top this day off I really enjoyed today, it's just so beautiful everywhere And just some really cool riding. I made my first single trail riding with Frankie So I'm super happy. I'm going to sleep now in my cave..
