Across the Alps on a bike. Most beautiful route in Europe. Munich to Venice bikepacking solo trip.
how far you can go how much you can risk where is your limit? more answers you got - more questions you set everything was ready to cross the Alps my bike shooting equipment, camping stuff time and route and most hopefully me myself too that was a journey where dreams are supposed to become real hello folks so I entered the mountains here's probably the halfway from Munich to Innsbruck weather could be better it's raining sometimes and quite windy but we will continue it's just 6:00 p.m. right now here's my bike by the way the bag with a drone and camera stuff another one with food here's urgent needs no nothing interesting there's my navigation system garmin, computer and the phone so I came to insbrook which is the capital of Tirol province in Austria and it is half day sunny half day rain really unpredictable weather and I still have no place where to stay but somewhere... my devices are charged my drone is still can fly but it seems there will be no sunrise tomorrow morning so probably I would go further to the mountains this direction today is third oh no today is fourth day of my trip I overnighted today behind the Innsbruck on the hill of course it was rain uh but now the weather is beautiful I passed 10 km from from 50 planned but it's going to be a full day of ascend 1600 m of gaining altitude so moving forward hey it's rain again passing the Italian Border in Brennen or how would Italian say Brennero buongiorno Italia! it's a raw region and some places are abandoned like that one and actually there are not so many people living in these communas it's a little bit cold it was more than 1500 kilometers of altitude gaining and but now it's pretty cool descend all the way till Vipiteno at least I assumed that if I will continue to Bolzano and then and further to Venice it will take 2 - 3 days and that's pretty much it, but it's not enough so I'm turning to the east in Bruneck to the dolomites going to explore and my mind going to explode we'll see how it goes and now I'm coming to Brixen it's not exactly by the my way because I'm going to Bruneck it's a little bit hook but it's going to be a nice city and I want to have a lunch here in a good beautiful place of course mountains are also beautiful places but it seems that I will have lunches in the mountains all the next week so..
I would like to visit Brixen it will take 2 hours more and after all journey is not about following the road right journey is about Journey it's about exploration that's what we actually doing that's the main reason that's the point life is not a race life is a journey okay that's not bad at all it's a good place to be here we can see that I'm not alone it's already 325 Radfahrer heute - cyclist today here is the village and here is the post boxes if you want to receive post just come here on a bus stop and look for it as we see here is three Winklers, two Oberhammers Faller, Faller - two Fallers, three Fallers Oberleichner maybe it's a a neighbor of Oberhammer Oberparleiter oberhammer one more Oberparleiter also three three houses it feels like in a village lives just uh five families so let's look for a place there's the road over there I don't like roads when i looking for a wild camping in in Europe yeah road is very close but let's check it out I can fit there yeah this is good it's qui nice let's see where's the car no one will see me at night first obvious thing about South Tirol it's that all signs are doubled in two languages at least but usually people here speaking three languages they are threelinguas it's German Italian and English that what people usually learn in school this guy already for 2 minutes reading the information for his son but son doesn't care so I was here totally alone and now.. hi.. 10:00 so many people you're just in time everyone is here it's a beautiful Forest a lot of spaces for that here and there good I'm in a place so it's already a week that I'm on the road and I changed my route a little bit now I'm moving to a real pearl of the dolomites Tre Cime di Lavaredo, I will do only day hiking there without overnighting we'll see really I'm very close of this Valley where to start to Tre Cime di Lavaredo it's about 15 kilm right now I'll charge my stuff and think about it there so guys one more mustsee in my life is successfully mustseed it's a perfect timing it took me 3 hours to climb up I assume it will be about an hour to go down Dolomites are beautiful freaking amazing stunning this is the road across the tunnel tunnel is 4 km long it's very long tunel but hold on a second what a [ __ ] [ __ ] I don't want to go to tunel well it's not the best way for a touring bicycle but let's say I will pass here it can be that I should to return same way after kilometer or so let's say I will pass here yeah the road is ruined no one use it no freaking one I don't even know what is less dangerous but I don't want to go to tunel it's going to be an interesting Journey at least at least picturesque and even people cannot walk here I don't want to think to unload all this stuff and then load again and then unload again in the end and if I will die it's going to be only my fault but if I going to die first I want to try this beautiful cheese that I bought formaggio contadino nice and finally this one it's something local looks really strange o it's like smoked parmesano it's fine and the original parmegano reggiano parmegano okay stay there come on boy okay oh we are here silent hill oh look at this seems they found no reason to fix this road I can understand so I would say that for pedestrians it works somehow but for loaded vehicles I wouldn't recommend this road was longer than tunel but finally here's the end and the same block let's see what we can do with this okay so only there let's go venetsia It's nice so guys I'm cycling by the bridge the last 4 k m of the road there is already a Venice in front of me the end of Road I'm arrived all right guys it's quite funny girl from a hostel just throw me out because she didn't like my face when she told me the rules of the hostel but it was everything was good with my face uh I unloaded my stuff from a bicycle and asked her if she have a laundry she said not I said Okay and she said the rules I said okay I asked do you have any other rules and she just exploded and said go away you're not polite I don't know it's this the thing about Italian temperment is it it it's so ridiculous I already the money I already put my sign on the reservation list and she said uh I will give you all back I'll cancel your reservation and I will call the police if you stay what the [ __ ] that's not how I expected my first evening in Venice but it's also nice thank you couch surfing a guy from couch surfing is ready to accept me today instead of accepting me in two days so I go in there it's over there on the back not on the island but it is not a problem I have so many stuff with me I just need a base I just need a base and the next day early in the morning I have finally got to the Venice and it was mindblowing sometimes it was reminding me my domestic city of Odessa in Ukraine and sometimes it looked like a fancy open air museum it is a very interesting state of mind when you after 10 days of tough physical activity get into this absolutely surreal place this city is charming I would say that it is the best city in the Europe without exaggeration best city for tourism of course because it looks like barely suitable for a normal living that why so many millions of people come in there all along the year that why some Hotel owners could be real [ __ ] that why it's so busy and crowded but after all it was worth it
