A Taste Of India By Motorcycle | Full of Surprises!
[Music] [Applause] [Music] and we're off this is the first 10 m of our tour in Southern India we're now in anjuna and we're heading off on about an hour's ride to uh old goer so I'm very intrigued to see what it's like the roads are starting to get quite bumpy as we come to the edge of uh and Juna already 8:30 the traffic is pretty busy and uh someone we met at the Royal Enfield Garage Cafe said um something that meant a lot and it makes a lot of sense that the roads in India flow like water and that is very true because they're extremely busy and everyone's sort of going everywhere but it it does flow and it doesn't feel you know wrong it flows very well um sometimes it flows like icy water but uh it does flow rather well and sort of not quite as difficult as I was expecting it to be but I mean it is pretty jarring wow look at that I love the buses here in India they are so beautiful and the horns that they have are really quite something and you hear them throughout the night it's just such an atmosphere we're now out of the town the countryside in India is magnificent it's so beautiful it really really is absolutely stunning now we've just ridden for about an hour and a half from our starting point uh through the city of panim and we're now in Old Goa now it's incredible riding in India it's like um it's you it see seems like Mayhem but it's not because everyone flows like water and it works so well because in England all you're thinking about is what speed you're doing because is it a 20 mph is it going to be a camera is it 30 m hour is it going to be a camera is there going to be a police camera gun around the next Corner if you're doing 50 so your mind is totally taken up on what speed you're doing and concentrating on that where here you're entirely concentrating on the riding and it is like flowing like water in and out of people it's absolutely wonderful it works in Harmony and I think it's brilliant we've got a lot we can learn from India so uh we did mention this before but we are on the Vintage rides tour uh around South India we started at the merse festival yesterday and now we are traveling around South India we are now in Old Goa um which is not really a place where many people live anymore it is basically um where the Portuguese came uh years ago they made loads of buildings and there's lots of chapels and churches and things around here it's very dusty here so on the next ride I'm going to put a mask on because the dust's hitting you the whole time I'm breathing in dust so it's making my voice a bit Gruff so definitely need to do something about that oh we uh we did a little walk but we didn't go in anything Toby No cameras allowed um but in this series we're really going to try and capture the essence of India the people the food the roads the bikes the cars the lorries everything the landscape uh the animals um so hopefully from this series you'll get a taste of what it's like to be in the country of India um and again May make sure you're subscribed because we've got so many videos coming up and it will increase your spice tolerance just taking a little stroll down to this River it's quite a big river it's massive but what an incredible view it's absolutely incredible and just here there are 1 2 3 4 5 6 seven stray dogs all together I suppose they're a pack um they're quite sweet but they're they're quite scared of humans so I suppose because we're in rural area they're not so used to humans as they are in the cities the ones in the cities don't seem phased by humans at all go now this is typical India right we got this Lori these lovely Lor's the dust now actually wearing a mask now because it's so dusty here let's see if Dary is going to overtake come on Dary a lot of Indian followers said um that the roads are terrible in India um so beware but from what I've seen so far the roads aren't as bad as I thought they were going to be I mean in England we haven't got the best roads they're pretty bumpy lots of potholes and honestly I mean the road I'm on quite right now is really lovely and smooth and it's better than the roads near where I live uh which is near leers so I'm pretty impressed to be honest I mean there are bad roads don't get me wrong and the roads that are bad are worse than the bad roads we get in England but on the most part the sort of main roads um between places really aren't that bad speed bubs everywhere here as well but they're quite fun you can uh sort of do a little hop over them they're really quite they make the they interesting whereas the speed bums in England are just been annoying they're in the weird shapes you can't really uh hop them and these classic 350s are really just sort of go over everything kind of bite I mean they they really are set up for the roads here so when you do get on the bumpy road sucks it up big po hole there miss that this bik are brilliant it's the perfect bike to do this on because it's very nimble easy to ride comfortable some be over that yeah did I I wish I was recording it I said I wish I recorded it all right over taking it's easy here see people expect you to overtake here it's not like the dumb thing in the UK is it people if you overtake someone in England they'll come and chase you and punch you at the next Ry lights we just stopped in this beautiful place and had a tid we're off now to this Temple down the road about 15 minutes down the road and apparently it's incredible and we're just speaking to this local guy and um he said it's made out of one massive one piece of stone or something I don't know if it's true but we'll see um but there's temples everywhere but the countryside here is beautiful there's lots of palm trees there's Greenery everywhere very Green Country and um it is wonderful but there's a lot of people at the same time there's a lot of Wildlife and obviously lots of cows they just let them wander around tons and tons of birds so it's a very beautiful place they've managed to keep the Wild Life and keep all those people I mean there's too many people but um they live in harmony with is rather nice in the UK it's not like that and I think the reason is because they don't strim and cut everything and that allows all the animals the wildlife the butterflies to thrive uh whereas in England everything's stmed cut man this is so good what that country is fascinating going over this little bridge look oh my God is absolutely stunning this is incredible this is right out of the back of nowhere sort of India this is off the Beaten Track this is not the sort of touristy India this is everyday real life India we speaking to a man down the road and um he said there's about I don't know how many hundreds of languages in India hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and umly the main language is Hindi formal language if you like and a lot of people speak English but there's tons of languages and there's a um remember what said it cool but there's a a local dialect that's spoken in Goa uh it's fascinating lovely now we're just heading into the wildlife sanctuary here there's some cows here oh little baby cow wow the cows in India just incredible one Indian chap said on the internet oh I don't know why English people are so obsessed with the cows here but it's because our cows in England are all just on farms we don't have wild cows and the cows that we do have if you go up to the fence or whatever they're not interested in you they're very um sort of scared of humans whereas the cows here are so docile and friendly you can scar them stroke them they're lovely lovely creatures now we've been riding these classic 350s all morning now and and I've noticed that for someone of over 6t um and I also do have a bit of a stiff lower back don't know how um my back does hurt a little bit after you know three hours of riding so for me the perfect riding position on the classic 350 is the new Goen bobber because it's got the mini apes it's got further forward foot position it's so comfortable so if I could put those bars and those pegs on this for this ride I think I'd be more comfortable it' be perfect [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] there's something really special about that Temple it's absolutely amazing we took our shoes off and had a look inside it's very peaceful and very special it's a wonderful place to visit so onward to the next place I don't know if I said already but the great thing about being on this t is that all your luggage is taken in a van and they take it to the destination where you're staying over that night so you don't have to carry a lot of stuff with it whereas if you did it yourself and didn't go on an organized tour then you've got all that luggage to take or you know you don't take very much but it gives you the opportunity of having a few things to carry with you and not actually have to bother having them on the motor which is great now if we didn't have a tour guide like we have from vintage rides how would we know this place was here you know it would take a lot of research so we don't have to do any thinking we just follow the leader now we've just had this wonderful ride for about 2 hours started off up this mountain windy road you'll see it in the b-roll fantastic wasn't it one the best oh and then down the mountain incredible places through little Villages quaint little places just the it's real Back Country Indian life and it's wonderful and then we've entered the um Wildlife Park again and we just stopped on top of this bridge and the views are spectacular and we have literally not come out of tree cover apart from the city since we left our hotel this morning so the whole place has got so many trees it's noticeable it's wonderful and we just noticed down here ah some water thank you thank you very much very much and we just noticed down here uh there's some monkeys down by the river there big ones really big ones aren't they and i' ever seen I don't know if they're Buffalo or cows over there and there were some signs up as we were riding through the uh forested area uh one said Bears one said I'm sure it said leopards uh or some sort of big cat and then some other weird things I've not seen before uh so it's massive a pleasant shock to us isn't it cuz in England what Wildlife is there like a few Birds um maybe foxes if they're not hunted the old Badger that's it's maybe like in Exmore 30 or 40 Deer that's that's that's our total Wildlife here there's more wildlife in this view that I can see standing here than probably I would say the entire country where we live uh so India wonderful I mean what a country so if you're from India and you follow our Channel India we love you it's absolutely incredible isn't it yeah was amazing and do you remember those butterflies oh yes there was like thousand of them yeah yeah there was just about three a year in England exactly they're nearly extinct in England I don't like getting my shadow in allor right it's a photography crime to get your shadow in so there's loads of people on the ride we're not filming the people because obviously they've got their privacy and we don't want to expose who they are all famous people of course um what is it over there is that cows or Buffalo cows it's spectacular and this is just a start you wait this is the worst bit day one yeah yeah I mean this is just the best bit is yet to come it's going to be so spectacular yeah uh look at this look at this family here comes the family just had a family of four riding um little scooter what's this one little boy little boy in the front look his brother it's great though because like why not I know why not if you can do it do it I mean the little kids going to school standing on the front on the scooter yeah and you're going in and out and it's just normal life without restrictions without control by the government [Music] now we've just stopped in this um Market Place all fruit and veg uh it's absolutely Immaculate I've never seen food like it it's perfect Perfection isn't it look at that look garlic pasta lentils sweets everything I think they sweets and here look what a place India never ceases to amaze me every minute we see something different don't we I mean this is the best Market I've ever seen in my life they got literally every fruit and veg spice seeds everything you think of yeah oh I don't know where we are we not haven't got a map or anything um we're in India yeah have a look are we where are we Masashi zoom out and see where that is in relation to okay I don't know if you can see that without us being there I it seems like we've been traveling miles and miles and miles in land but on the map not very far at all no are we so oh W I think we're making a bit of a spectacle here hello what are your names my name is my name is l my name is show me your hand show me this H it's called hna isn't itow very bright pretty you're pretty girls have a good day bye-bye while it's going past in India rather than Jeeps they have these things it's coming in a second they're buy Mahindra which uh they own BSA do they they do oh they of course they do yeah and they make these trucks which are just like DS pan round to that how cool is that that is the perfect car for India cuz they're smaller than a Jeep as well yeah so they'll go anywhere brilliant oh liing the landscape what a country now we've arrived at this uh beautiful resort called the Stonewood uh Resort it's like a jungle resort we're in the wilderness within the trees um we've got these cool little Huts that we're staying in beautiful place amazing service everyone's so friendly we just gave us this next list and put this uh I don't actually know what this is called but they put that on your forehead um and it's got a swimming pool it's got everything so what a beautiful place to stay had an incredible day today absolutely unbelievable seeing some of India's beautiful landscape the incredible Countryside towns that you would never even think of seeing unbelievable um but tomorrow is going to be even better and this is probably just the start it's going to get better and better every day from now on so uh make sure you stay tuned tomorrow we're heading towards badami um most of it is going to be uh off-road riding so it's going to be a little bit more challenging tomorrow and badame is basically like a caves that were carved out by humans hundreds of years ago so it's like a wonder of the world so it's going to be incredible to see that and you don't want to miss it [Music] I've literally changed color look at the dirt on my face my beard has gone from white to Ginger that's not a good thing is it flipping now and that's in my lungs as well I feel really Gruff I did have a mask on half of the journey um I didn't put it on the last half now I should them cuz it was really dusty
