Hello Aegean Sea :) We came to Greece for Nick brother's wedding. I stopped by Germany visiting friends now Nick is picking me up in Athens airport Nick came here to see family and relatives first. We finally reunited :) After Nick picked me up we drove directly to Larissa. It is 4-5 hours drive, a city in northern Greece After arrival we stopped by a place to have some Souvlaki the Souvlaki in Greece is similar to Gyro the main difference is gyro is mainly lamb/beef but souvlaki is mostly chicken and pork, also souvlaki has french fries inside :) also the sauce and the way they make the meat are quite different. i personally prefer souvlaki because you can taste ingredients better

there are a lot of street cats in Greece and they are super clean. But please don't feed them since the store owners may not like it (they will come back) we explored around downtown (around our hotel). the sunset was amazing an ancient theatre next to our hotel (a lot of these in Greece) it was late, but we are still heading out for dinner, meeting Nick's brother & sister in law, and some friends (we were discussing how small the elevators are in europe but a big one came) here is the best man and Nick reunited with some old friends (they were making a best man joke) here is the bride :) and another childhood friend the downtown is still crowded at night, restaurants and bars are full we ordered some souvlaki skewers and fries (skewers also called souvlaki) he decided to sing a song for us :) he said: that's all I remembered! everyone got pretty tired after dinner. they decided to go back and rest for the big day tomorrow but Nick decided to go for a drink with a cousin, he hasn't seen her for years (i was complaining a chaotic night because we usually sleep very early) wedding day today! we have nothing to do in the morning so we come to tour a tomato plant owned by Nick's friend (whose name is also Nick) this is a co-gen plant where electricity goes to the grid and heat goes to the greenhouse for tomatoes. (we are interested because of our work) i was joking this logo looks like a strawberry and Nick correct me it was a tomato lol Nick was explaining to us the operation of the plant (pipes for water, CO2 etc) this is the greenhouse for tomatoes, it accounts for 5% of the supply to Greece. the tomatoes also goes to the rest of europe

(Nick pointed to us where the bee are, they use them to fertilize the plants) (Nick making bee sound) (Nick told us it used to be 50cents/bee, we were shocked how expensive it was given their life was short) Nick showing us where they collect leaves we went back to the hotel to help brother get ready (we were making a ring bear and ring bearer joke) we got dressed and ready to go to the lobby (Nick was saying all greek wedding will dance late, be prepared) now we are at the lobby with family & friends of the groom side to take photos heading to church, taking a ride with some friends me: is there going to be grilled lamb at the wedding (sorry, i was so wrong, that's greek easter thing) Nick: no..... i don't thing there will be grilled lamb but food will be good! we arrived at the church in around 30 mins (ceremony starts around 6-6:30) the church has set up the table for the wedding... before our ceremony there was a baptism in there (can you hear the kid crying?) guests gradually arrived the church, taking photos and waiting for the bride the groom waiting for the bride the bride showed up with the family, guest clapping waiting to enter the church the Priest (in greek) was blessing the rings then the maid of honor will put them on for the couple the Priest continues this is an important part of the ceremony where the best man put on the crowns and exchange them for 3 times to show the union of the couple Priest led the dance of Isaiah, showing their change of religion status from individual to family (Nick explained these to me) now Priest announce them husband and wife now the couple exits the church. guest throwing rice as their wishes and blessing to the couple (so someone was asking if i am ready)

now that the ceremony has ended, everyone was just chatting, taking a break, then driving to the venue for reception here is the second part of the greek wedding, basically partying (eating and dancing) (Nick and his cousin) we are trying to find our table this table is mostly Nick & George's common friends the sunset time is really beautiful in Greece everyone was just eating and waiting for the couple to enter (the couple enters late usually in greek weddings) the couple is now entering! now they are cutting the cake sharing the cake with each other first dance of the couple (there isn't much toasting culture in greek weddings even though couple will come and thank you for attending. this pretty much starts the dance all night) that balloon didn't get broken. the staff came to help. now dreamy small balloons come out father/daughter dance here is the first traditional dance: couple+bestman+maid of honor+immediate family. now the bride leads (they take turns) now this is led by Nick Nick's friends were clapping even though it was kinda chaotic :) the traditional greek handkerchief dance. she practiced for the wedding. Bravo :)

guests gradually joined the dance floor this is also traditional greek dance where the couple is in the middle of the circle and others would clap (often knee down) now the groom enters the circle now it is the bouquet time for the single ladies! :) some modern pop music finally later that night..... everyone was dancing hard, feeling very happy for the couple. the dance lasted until 5 or 7am....til the dawn
