The road surface is well maintained and there is no anxiety. Interesting road to drive, but the view is not so good. This is a skyline with no observatory. Instead, it is a road with a series of green tunnels. The road is so green that it is hard to believe that it is the middle of winter, and it is pleasant.
The road becomes narrower at the tip of Cape Ashizuri. The road is a tourist area and there is a lot of traffic, so drive with caution. After passing through the tunnel through the trees, you will reach the tip of the cape. We arrived at Cape Ashizuri in a little over 3 hours from Kochi. 2023.01.05 12:31 Cape Ashizuri.
There is an observatory just outside the parking lot. Ashizuri-misaki is the southernmost point of Shikoku. We could see the unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean. There was an observatory before going to the shrine. I take a detour and climb up. Climbing the stairs for 3 minutes, I arrived at the observatory. Looking in the direction of Cape Ashizuri, we can see the road we have run. To the west, the Usukezaki Lighthouse can be seen.
The visiting Ryugu Shrine can be seen small just below. Leaving the observatory, we head for the shrine. Walking through the forest of Ubamegashi, full of greenery. From the observatory down the hill to the beach.
The trees suddenly disappear and the view suddenly opens up. Suddenly, the view is so spectacular that one can't help but shout. Rough rocks and clear sea overwhelm me.
Looking back, the place has a considerable elevation gain. Heading toward the shrine at the tip of the cape. 2023.01.07 13:32

The aquarium exhibits many fish that live in Ryukushi Bay. Ryukushi Bay seems to have coral reefs due to the Kuroshio Current. Tropical fish seem to wash ashore, and the brightly colored fish were beautiful. The best part of this aquarium is the sea turtles. A tank for sea turtles is set near the window on the second floor. It is interesting to see them swimming as if they are flying in the sky.
Sea turtles in the water, lit up by the western sun, it is mysterious. The aquarium also has facilities to observe underwater in the bay. This is an interesting shaped underwater observation facility. There are several round windows to observe from various angles. Schools of fish visit here and it sparkles beautifully.
