$0.50 tea on a GLACIER in Pakistan
Good morning, guys and welcome back to another video here in Pakistan specifically in the Hunza Valley with the usual crew. We got the British lad here, Harry. We’ve got Mr. Posh over here and the other brothers downstairs getting ready for the big day. And we're having our last meal here at the hotel we've been staying at and we're gonna be having something delicious. Our chef here, Rasheed is going to be making us something very traditional. So I’m actually not entirely certain what it is. He told us last night when we were at the- the dancing event and we're
gonna start off first though with a nice cup of black coffee because that's gonna get us going guys. Let's go, see what the chef's cooking. Can I come in? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, oh yeah, this is smelling good. We've got some fresh omelettes. What's on the menu today boss? Today, I make a special- special traditional food. Oh yeah. With the crepes, the homemade bread.
It seemed like a plain bread but this is a different. We cooking the home as I like the home oven. That’s gonna be delicious. Guys, I can already smell it right now. Oh yeah, I am getting very hungry here and your name's Rashid, yeah.
Good man here. Thank you for everything. We’re excited to try this guys, we'll share the food with you once it's all set. As you guys heard from Rasheed here is the delicious meal we're gonna have. So we have the omelette here, some peppers baked into, there I’m seeing red and green peppers and some onions as well. You know we're probably gonna toss a little salt and pepper on there. Hopefully, that's salt and pepper. I’m fairly certain but if it's sugar. No,
sugar is in front of me. Alright, little pepper on there too, get her going and then this right here. The crepes. So let's go ahead and first of all I wanna just test out the crepes, see how those are separately and then we'll find a hybrid in between these two. It's time to dig right in. Let's try one of these crepe. I’m just gonna eat it just like this. It’s got a rich buttery taste up top. As you guys can see, it's- it's oily with the butter. So, that's gonna go very nicely
with the omelette. Let's actually try out today a little bit different. We're going to chop this into four pieces and we'll get that going just like that. Yeah, we gotta separate you my guy and nope, none of them wanna go guys. Alright, there we go then we're gonna toss this right there so it actually fits perfectly. Now, we're gonna take another layer, you see what I’m doing here. Now, we've got this thing, Oreo sandwiched and we're gonna do one more fold over here so that way I can grab it like this and we've actually got a crepe omelet pizza here. Let's go
ahead and dig right in. Oh wow, Rashid very delicious, very delicious. Very rich in flavor. When you have that basically sandwiched in there, you just
get a nice chew to it from the crepe. it’s a different texture of course and you've seen previous videos where we did that with the paratha bread. Since, this type of like thin layer is just squishy, it just adds to like the squish it down when you take a bite and all the flavors just come out. Good. One more thing to try here guys, this is Hunza bread. So one thing, I’ll tell you is immediately I can tell how dense it is. So like I’m pushing pretty
hard down. Normally, like a piece of bread would like squish and this one, this one we’ve got a solid, solid density to it. So I have a feeling it is gonna be delicious. Very good. When you take a bite out of it, it basically just crumbles apart in your mouth and has a great chew. Delicious food here guys, here at the Tiger hotel and we have some mango juice arriving just in time. Alright, we got a little coffee here. Oh spilled a little bit there guys. It's not
as easy as it looks to be able to film and pour coffee like this. Want me to get you bro? Yes please. See if we can get them from afar. Whoa, oxidize it a little bit probably not the right term but believable.
How’s that chow over there bro? That's so good. Also I’m so hungry. I don't know why from afar it looks like a- like a plate full of flapjacks, pancakes. Maybe it is. Exactly. For you know in French, in Italy, in European countries and Australia, USA and UK, the people make a different types of crepes. Yeah. We make only handmade. Yeah. You know
we use a totally flow of organic. Oh yeah, organic from around here in Hunza. Oh, that's why it's so fresh. Thank you so much. Also the bread we make in the same like this. Oh yeah. In a hotel one. Yeah, yeah. So this is a special for you. It was all so delicious. Thank you so much for taking the time to- to do that because that was probably one of my favorite ways I’ve ever eaten an omelette was with the- was I basically took the omelette. Alright, the omelette took a quarter of it and then I sandwiched it in between two pieces of crepe, took a bite of that and all the flavors infused together for a delicious meal. Thank you so much and next time when you come, we make a different
types. Oh perfect. And also we change a little bit of old and new-- Yeah that's why next time you come, we make lots of different organic foods. I look forward to it, Insha-Allah [God willing]. Can't wait. Thank you so much. Thank you very much. Another cup of Joe down. Hello, How’s the meal for you broski? Delicious, one of
the best breakfasts I’ve had here in Pakistan. Shukria [Thank you] my friends. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Allah hafiz [Goodbye] and thank you again for everything. Goodbye my friends. Really nice staff here guys so, so grateful for this experience. Hopefully, we can say bye to Tiger hotels owner, Aziz. Yeah Aziz is
such an awesome guy full of so much energy, life, wisdom, and it's just such a good time to hang out with. So we got the boys here hanging out in the sun, catching a tan out here. Must be nice. Good morning. Alright, guys that's a wrap here in this part of the Hunza Valley. Now, we're gonna be going on to our next place which is Hoper Glacier. Opal, open? Hoper glacier. Oh, that sounds amazing.
Hoper glacier, is how far away from here? One, half hour. Oh perfect, so we'll be there in 90 minutes. Alright, guys I think we're gonna have some beautiful views. The guys were telling me yesterday that we're gonna be basically cruising right along the river that you might have seen in the last video right next to Altit Fort there. So it's gonna be a beautiful drive here. Let's go. Guys, we have great news. So, I didn't mention this, I don't think in any other videos but when we got to Karachi, we went and got a Ufone sim card and it never actually worked for us. There's something with like I don't know, the exact reason. So, if someone knows this in
Pakistan I’ve been told by another Pakistani person that like certain international phones or like when you bring an international phone to certain phone providers, it just doesn't work. So Ufone never actually worked and then when we got up to Hunza Valley, Ufone’s not used up here actually s-com is and so the Posh brothers helped us get sim cards yesterday, quite inexpensive maybe 500 rupees, maybe a thousand total to have 10 gigs of data for a month. Obviously, we're not gonna be here for another full month but we were able to get that for basically like seven, six- six bucks roughly. And now,
after 24 hours because they do have to process your passport information after that time period then the sim card activates, data plan is all set and now we have access up here 3g up in the mountains. Good enough to basically do all the basic functions and yeah, it'll be nice having some signal up here so we can keep you guys up to date on the Instagram stories. So if you guys aren't following me on Instagram, definitely follow at World Nomac, spelled the exact same way as my YouTube channel on Instagram, and I post daily stories there guys. So alright, let's get on with this journey. So guys, we are now enroute and we are driving through some incredible landscapes here. We're basically like in between the Valley of multiple mountains surrounding us, driving right on the edge here, not too big of a drop off here like you saw on our way up to Hunza a couple of videos back. So it's not as scary
being this close to the edge of the road but I do like when it gets really steep because you know it keeps the thrill ride going. And we are in a four by four so we can handle anything. We already encountered a little bit of ice when we were first leaving Hunza. So I would assume just given that, we're gonna be near a glacier, Hoper Glacier. We're probably gonna experience a little snow and ice. What do you guys think? Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, so get ready. This is gonna be a beautiful drive. I’m already absolutely
blown away. So stay tuned guys. If you look right up there guys, at any moment these rocks could be falling so it keeps things more exciting for you if you're watching. Looks like these are guys are cleaning up what used to be a landslide right there, moving around a bunch of rock or maybe clearing the way out a bit. How often do landslides happen? During rain. During rain. Oh okay, during rain. Or an earthquake. So that's when you guys wanna keep your eyes peeled if an earthquake just happened or if it just rained, that's when landslides are more likely but it's not scary guys like it happens once in a while. And so not anything you should ever be
too concerned about. It’s definitely worth it with what we're about to see, let's put it that way. As you can see guys, we've got a little Pakistani traffic here. Move out of the way. Classic dead joke there. Guys, we've got round two Pakistani traffic. We've got chickens thinking about crossing the
road. It's the old saying why did the chicken cross the road? We’ll never know. So guys we're coming into this village, actually we're driving through the village right now of Nagar and it is quite populous. We've got what maybe 500 people that live here. Yeah so it's a cool look into what the locals life looks like here. As you guys
have seen on the road here, we have the hybrid of humans living with cows walking on the road, chickens walking on the road, got kids up here walking to school. And imagine this, this is their daily life. You wake up, you're looking at multiple different mountains, snow peak mountains, dirt covered mountains and just an amazing landscape in every direction. Salaam Alaikum [Peace be upon you] And it looks like we've even got some apple orchards, peach orchards down there? Yes. Yeah, we got a goat right there. So we're getting a- a full experience cruising through here guys. It's a- a really nice drive here. Sometimes the
drives are the best part but we shall see if the glacier beats it. Yeah How many times have you guys been to the glacier? Many times. Many, many so that's probably thousands. So once we get up there, we'll ask what facts they know about the glacier up here. Guys we're starting to see some Chinese influence the way the structure is here. It looks kinda like a tea pavilion. What would you call that thing down there? Which one right down there? Is the red one? Yeah. This is a normal house.
A normal house. Oh wow but it's got some Chinese influence for sure. It’s a designable. Designable, very cool. Oh guys don't tell Harry, we've got a game of cricket going. He's gonna hop out of the car and start playing. Salaam Alaikum [Peace be upon you].
Salaam Alaikum [Peace be upon you] So guys we just arrived to the Hoper Hilton Inn right here and we are parking the car here, keeping it safe with our buddy here. Aap ka naam kya hai? [What’s your name?] Akbar Nice to meet you. My name is Mac and he's gonna be watching over the car, keeping it safe while we trek up into the glacier. Shukriya [Thank you] How far is the walk up? Almost 15 minutes. 15 minutes. Oh that's a quick and easy.
Oh, we've got Speedy Gonzalez here. Salaam Alaikum [Peace be upon you] Oh, all the sheep's here greeting us. We’re getting some fresh water, enjoy. Oh well, they're talking. Oh they can get up the glacier pretty quick with that speed. Salaam Alaikum [Peace be upon you] Alright, we're at the first viewpoint here and some initial views of these glaciers. I’m a bit out of breath guys but
just look at this out here, unbelievable. It goes way out into the horizon and we're gonna be trekking up there, not too far of a hike just right up there where that flag is. Not sure if you guys can see it but it's waving in the air. Wow, what a landscape. So we're still, this is all part of the village of Nagar still? Still. Okay. So it stretches out quite a bit of ways. What's your good name? Musa Ali Nice to meet you. It's a pleasure.
And this is your shop? Yes. And also the watchman over the city. Yeah very nice. It's a beautiful viewpoint to spend every day. Guys as we say here in Pakistan, chalien which means let's go which means yallah which means vamos. Can't remember the other languages, los geht’s in German and I can't
remember the rest of them but that means we're cruising on right along on the left side. One false move, I’m gonna be hanging in barbed wire but we've got a short little hike right up to the top there. And I can already tell just with the glaciers in the background that we are going to be blown away. So make sure you guys stick around until we get up there because it's gonna be good. So
guys over here the shop called OMG. Oh my God, birthstone shop all of these different stones are actually found in these mountains so special experience. Unfortunately, looks like the guys are closed today. We've got this one full speed ahead, full speed ahead. Well, they're taking off. You can see the river
here guys faucet, shut off for the winter. Looks like they closed off entrance number one on us guys. Oh just kidding, secret passageway. All you gotta do is lift the rope up and
you're in. Now, we got a bit of a trek though over there guys as you can see. Whoa guys, we're literally just walking on the side of a mountain right now and it's got a really, really cool trail just leading all the way up to the viewpoint there. How we doing there Mr. Jaggard? Good sire. Hey, you can't keep up with me though. We're already up here. Guys I’d be lying to you if I didn't say that I was out of breath.
It shows I need to climb way more mountains because this was a short hike. I’m embarrassed, probably those shishas over in the Middle East before. Oh how's it going back there guys? Go any slower, we'll have to check you for a pulse. Hello, little gato [Cat].
Meow, meow. Salaam Alaikum [Peace be upon you] Aap kesay hain? [How are you?] It’s quite the trek to get up and this is the way to go. Oh and we're making it up guys. What a place to have a cafe though. Imagine this, this is your daily nine to five, come up here, make some teas for the customers. Whoa and then,
see views like this. But I think where we wanna go is up by the flag so let's keep this- this hike going. I wonder if we can climb it probably, why not right. Oh yeah, and land ahoy. Oh. We made it. We made it. I feel like I just hiked to the top of the tallest mountain in the world but really is just 15 minutes up. 15 minutes well spent
to see views like these. [Music] Guys we had an extremely successful drone flight. So successful, I got so excited my handy-dandy jacket sleeve ripped off again so wow unbelievable though guys. I wish I knew how to climb glaciers. I would love to go walk out on all of those but after hearing the stories from our guy that getting stuck in a pit between a glacier was a form of punishment. Sounds like it'd be pretty uncomfortable, so I’m not sure I’m gonna risk that on this trip. And now we're hiking back down. I’m
thinking we're gonna get some green tea. What do you boys think? Yes. Oh yeah. Oh good chai. Gentlemen, what do you think? Awesome. Yeah, they're telling us- they're telling us right now that normally you never get this lucky. There’s literally no wind right now. We’re sitting here with sun shining on us in the middle of winter and we're catching a tan. Who would have thought? Not me, not me brother. Honestly, I’ve never experienced anything like this in
my life. This is just very cool, feels like we're in a movie scene. Yeah for real. As the wise man once said, the more you travel, the less you realize you know because there's so many beautiful places, like this all over the world. Thanks to the Posh brothers for
bringing us here. Always welcome bro. Yeah perfect. Now, it's quiz time for them. Tell us your best fact about this glacier. We're not going to give them the easy way out. We already know how good Hunza hospitality is. He
used that one in an earlier video. Because of this beautiful landscape and hospitality, hospitality people and party people. That is true and so this- this glacier is what like millions of years old? Almost for like from 18th century. 18th century. Oh so it's been around for a few
years now some fresh hot teas coming this way. Oh that's very kind of you. Shukria [Thank you] my friend. Oh yeah, by warm I mean hot. Oh yeah, mountain green tea, all organic.
Literally straight from the mountains guys. I swear like every time I smell this, it literally gives me like such a feeling of relaxation. He's got a tongue of steel just sips the boiling hot water. It’s not that hot.
Oh that's actually doable, yeah or maybe my- Hey little kitty, there's a snow leopard. Is that a snow leopard right there? Yes. Yes does it bite? No. Just saying hello, hello little one. So you guys are from the Wahi people. Wahi community, yeah. You wouldn't call it a tribe though? Because the- yesterday the Aziz, he's a tribe leader. That's what someone was saying right. Somehow how- but I’m not
because I’m living down city. And there's you said two basically communities, Shinaki and- Yeah, like in Hunza district then we have more like Shanaki and other far in down side. And what about here in Nagar which? They also speak [____]. And they're part of
that community? Not. No. They have different. Different community. Well, I can tell you this community knows how to make a delicious green tea. Oh yeah. Shukriya [Thank you] delicious teal
Thank you so much. He's a student doing a part-time job up here. Yeah. Just for the winter? Winter vacation. Winter vacation, oh okay. So that means school is off for- Till february 15th. February 15th, so quite a bit of time. Where's the school that goes to in the village? In the village, yes. Oh nice. Was he born here? Yeah. Naveed, good name. That's one of my favorite sayings that I picked up on pretty quick in Karachi when people would say, what's your good name? It's just such a kind way of asking your name, you know when they say what's your good name? You know so I picked up on it every single person I asked I’m like what's your good name? Yeah, yeah. It's like they're assuming you
have a really nice name. Yeah, yeah with Harry Potter. Harry right, Harry Potter. Have you watched Harry Potter? Everyone calls me Harry Potter here or Harry Puter because that means Harry, the son.
Is that correct? Oh so guys we spent the last 20 or 30 minutes just relaxing in this perfect weather, no wind. We even heard the sounds actually I didn't but the rest of the guys did of a glacier falling. Harry said it sounded a bit like an explosion. So I wish I could have heard that but it's so peaceful. You
truly feel like you're in this whole landscape all by yourself. Now there's a few other people that arrived so up there, up top. See guys this is what YouTube training happens. This is him shooting a thumbnail right now. Yeah if
you wanna see that video, make sure you go into the description, check Harry Jaggard, like and subscribe to him. Thank you brother. King of sleeping. Yeah king of slipping or sleeping, sleeping. Yeah, yeah. Alright, now time to go get some karak chai, the strong chai. So until next time glaciers. Next time, it'll be the summer. Yeah, we'll meet you again. Yeah perfect. So this place looks completely different this summer? Yeah. Like luscious green? Luscious green, yes. Oh that'll be beautiful.
Came to say bye, nice little snow leopard. Good boy until next time, next summer Insha-Allah [God willing]. Shukria [Thank you] my friends. Hello dudo, can I pet the dudo. Hello. Is it a nice dudo? Oh, ginger dudo.
So we're heading back down to the car guys. Oh what a nice time exploring these glaciers in the brisk weather. We've got some fresh karak chai. That’s gonna be g double o d. Alright, a fresh thing of karak chai has arrived. Shukria [Thank you] and some chips here or fries some call them. Here we go guys get some karak chai, some strong chai’s
get us some energy going. Well, that's quite good. As you can see, it's gotten a little darker since my last video update because the sun sets quite early here in the winter time and as you can imagine, and as you can see visually, I’ve added a little layer on because it's got a bit colder so to have this tea right now, it's warming up my fingers. So yeah guys, that's pretty much where I’m gonna go ahead and end today's video, was a great time exploring the glaciers as well as starting the day off with some delicious breakfast over at the Tiger hotel. So once again, enjoyed it so much and thanks to the Posh brothers for hooking it up. As always guys, I’ll put a link in the description and all these videos so you can find the information to talk to Akram Posh and he will be able to hook you up with any type of tour you want all around Pakistan, not just here in Hunza Valley but pretty much anywhere you wanna go.
He’s got people in all the cities. So that's- that's it for today guys and if you wanna see more videos both here in Hunza Valley and Pakistan, and all around the world, hit that subscribe button below. If you enjoyed this one, hit that thumbs up and I’ll see you guys tomorrow. [Music]
