It's almost 10 now. It's a long weekend so we planned a ride A rider friend contacted a long time back about a homestay Last time we planned and then the accident happened. We are going today. Starting now. Its bit too cold from past 2-3 days.

After wearing all the gears, feeling bit hot. For this homestay you have to take right just before Kudremukha forest check post. Little bit inside from there. Mannapaapu mane From the outside, it will look like an ordinary house.

But what you see next is.. Whatever I had dreamed about a home so far, it looks exactly like it. They have preserved this house so well.

We have stopped the bike there. Car comes all the way up here. Park and if you come here..

The doggos will welcome you. If you see everyone, the old house has been preserved so well If you see inside its the dream house I pictured so far. Especially when it rains, it will be so nice.

They have given the timings here. About breakfast, lunch etc. They will serve right here. A kitchen that side and everything will be made live. This is a nice place to sit plugging your phone charger and browse. They have also set wifi here.

You dont get much network here. Jio only one stick and not sure about Airtel. Nice wooden swing here. Whats this board? In Tulu Nadu, we say 'Chenne Mane' for this. Its a kind of board game we play with family in Tulunadu I used to play with dad and siblings Rooms are also excellent Rooms are also preserved to be as genuine as possible. The room also smells so nice.

Even washroom, though it looks like old.. They have everything. Clean commodes Hot geyser Everything so tidy and neat Another courtyard here. Nice sofa set here.

We also want a house like this Let's also build a house like this We also dream to build a house like this. Need a courtyard like that. That's an old dream. In Mangalore, we have houses of village head like this. With a courtyard like this inside house. It would be so nice to sit and watch rain here.

There is one more floor as well. Looks like a dormitory This house literally has everything! There is so much stuff in this house is that... When you sit for a while, you will see something new..

If you try to cover all of them, it will be an hour-long documentary. There are old swords as well. Friend Vinay is here.. You guys got lucky due to WFH There are unending stuff to see in this house..

This is the kitchen They have setup wifi here. There are two routers and you get about 20MBPS. So if someone wants to work from home, this is a nice place for it.

Was talking to Manu and he himself is a biker as well, known him for the last few years. He was invited about a few years back but couldn't come due to various reasons. After coming here, I feel like I should have come here a long time ago. About the property, Manu takes care of everything here. The owner's name is Purushotham Adve.

He is artist as well as sculptor. He is very passionate about collecting art forms, discarded art etc. You will see those in all around the house.

Some of the art works, he is collected from flowing river which were discarded. He goes to so many places in search of it. You will see many of them here. Even I wanted to meet him. But he is currently busy in Udupi for an event. He comes here often, almost every week. The food is so good here.

For nonvegetarians like me, can't imagine so many good veg dishes can be made. If you get daily food like this, then you won't remember non-veg food only. This is unpolished rice.

Amla pickle. Food is so good I like this setup With all these lights. Is that ghee? How is it? Move that side. Banu is a helper for the cook today.

She is eating more than the chicken she used to have. If you want a helper, Banu will come and stay here. She only need enough to eat Todays breakfast Vermicelli Avalakki Atta Halva And the live dosay. Which dosay today? Salt and sour dosay. It's a mixture of all masala and the usual dose batter. You have to put all that you put for sambar.

You dont need chutney then This is the route we came. There is something here. Seems like a small stage. Nice place for small birthday functions I guess. Flashflood wont come right? We are gone if it came. This is very nice. Especially to sit in the evening Sun setting now Manu came here already and reading his book What an ideal place here to read his book watching the sunset..

Btw he is reading 'Selfish Gene' by Richard Dawkin. I used to follow videos of Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens etc once upon a time. Finished taking bath and its almost 8 now. This is the house and if you lie down here, you get a nice view of the sky. Like the window of a spaceship. Moon is visible here.

Not seen on video. It's silent and so beautiful. In the middle of western ghats. Tell us about the homestay, whose dream, the purpose etc Are you recording now? Homestay lost its charm nowadays. People come drink, party and make noise. We didn't want that.

We also experienced this like a home rather than a homestay Have seen houses like this and always wanted to stay in one. We were here for days and had a crazy good time. I will share all the details in the description so you can directly contact Manu. he will explain about the place.

This is not like a usual commercialised tourist spot. More like a home midst of nature. So if you respect that and go there, they will really welcome you. He will tell you about the homestay rules when you enquire. He has promised to give some discounts if you say my referral. They also do a summer camp of 2-3 weeks for small children's so you can enquire about that as well.

Also, some workshops about frogs.. Some nice programs keep happening here. And you will have best of best homestay experience. Mannapaapu name is coined from Tulu word. Earlier I thought its the Kannada word.

In Tulu 'Paapu' means a small bridge across a water stream. There used to be a small bridge made of soil it seems. That's why the name 'Mannapaapu' You also didn't know? Even I dint know. Manu told me.
