[Music] How to manage offline files in Windows 11, how to configure them, today we will know in detail. Before configuring offline sharing, you should know about online sharing in detail. Online does not mean internet, online. It only means that your systems will be available in the network, there will be communication among themselves and they will be transferring data. This scenario is called online sharing. Online sharing does not mean internet. Yes if Internet is available in your network. You are sending and receiving data from any system. You can do this in any system,
but in such a condition, you say that if I want to share, then internet should be available in my system. This color became clear, online sharing means connectivity not internet, now you understand here from the diagram, I have one PC available which I have named as Main PC. The IP of this system is 10.1. This system is my file server. File server is called whatever system provides your data. In the network, such a system is called file server. Now it can be your data, it can also be your printer.
You have to create some folders in this machine. Now you have to create You should also know that you can never share a file, you can always share a folder. When you share your folder, whatever data is available in that folder will be available to you, whether it is files or your folders. Will be automatically shared when you If you share the folder, you can provide two types of permission for this share: Read permission or full control. If you
have provided read permission then you can only configure online sharing. You cannot configure offline sharing here if you have provided full control. If you provide control then you can configure offline sharing i.e. in online sharing you have both options available, you can also give read permission and full control but in offline sharing you can only provide You can do full control. If you do not provide full control then your offline sharing will not work. So the diagram you are seeing in front of you is the diagram of online sharing. If you want to configure offline sharing then first
you should have online sharing in your system. It is important that you also understand that right now two users are available in my network, I have named one user as local user and the other user I have named as remote user, that is, the one who will remain in my network only, from here I can do all my functions i.e. That All the work will be done on my main machine but sometimes the remote user will connect to my network and sometimes it will not connect to my network but in both the conditions it has to work only on the files available on my system, so in such a condition I have to configure it on this remote user. There will be offline sharing on the local user. I can configure online sharing which is the default. Now when you configure offline sharing on the user, then you have to access the data on that user online. Now how will you access it online? First, connect the user to the network. After connecting
, you will use backward slush, provide the IP address of the server and access the data. After accessing the data in your remote user, whatever file you want to provide to the remote user, make it available to you. If it will be offline then for that you will use the option Always Available Offline and if you want to provide any folder then you will have to make that folder also Always Available Offline so as soon as you click on this option Whatever data you have selected, that data will be pasted in the directory entry named Windows in this C drive, that is , it will be synced, after that when this user accesses the data, whether online or offline, it will be accessed from this directory CSC. So, whichever user will work on the system, it will first be saved in CSC and after CSC, it will go to your main machine. Now assuming this user is online, then where will the data go? When this user writes the data in the directory entry named CSC, then it will be saved. Where This will be done in CSC and as soon as the user connects to the network, the data will be automatically synced on your main machine, that is, you will not have to do any manual synchronization between your main machine and the remote user or you will not have to copy paste it again and again.
There is another diagram which will automatically sync. If you understand from this diagram, then in this diagram, I have disconnected the remote user from the network, that is, I have disconnected the cable that was connected here, in such a condition when If the user accesses the data, from where will his data be accessed? The user will save the work from a directory named CSC. As soon as the user connects again, the data will be synced back to the network. Your main machine does the work of your offline sharing but you need Windows. One thing to be seen in Windows 11 is that when you share any file or share a folder, when you right click on that folder or file, you will not get the option Always Available Offline because by default in Windows 11 it is The feature is disabled i.e. the files which are offline are disabled, you have to enable it from the control panel, then you will go to the control panel, there you will get the option Sync Center, you will open the sync center and do your offline files first, after enabling it. You
have to restart, after that you have to complete the process of online sharing, after that you will cache the files in your remote user. For this, I have setup a complete lab. Now see the practical steps in that lab . Inside the lab, it is available to show you step by step how to configure offline sharing in your system. If you have any doubt, you can message me in the doubt comment and ask me what problem you are facing in offline sharing.
So you must have been clear about the difference between online and offline sharing. Offline sharing is enabled by default in Windows 10 but in Windows 11. The default is disabled. If you do not want to do offline sharing in the system, then keep your offline sharing disabled from the sync center and if you want to perform then you will have to enable it. You have to
do this setting from both the ends, from the main machine as well as from your remote. Even from the system, when you make it available from the main system, only then it will sync to your remote user and when you sync it to the remote user i.e. enable it, only then it will go back to your main machine i.e. from both the ends. It is important to be available. Hope so you
must be clear about the major difference between online sharing and offline.
