[mold-free jazz music] [computer buzzes, beeps] Greetings and welcome to part two of this unboxing and cleaning up of moldy water-damaged items! For those of you who haven't seen the first part... there was a first part. But yeah there was just a bunch of things in my house that were messed up from Hurricane Helene crashing some trees through my house and causing a whole big mess. But yeah, speaking of my house, let's go and take a

look at it! Cuz this is not my house, this is a rental. My house is a mess. It's very loud in here, sorry about that. It's kind of an ongoing process of dehumidifying and all kinds of craziness. But yeah this is, or was my living room. So yeah, here was my entertainment center, Laserdisc collection, had computer and video game stuff and TV, and just all these kind of things. So, this whole section of the roof, mainly right here, came down and crashed right onto all this kind of stuff. We're going to be cleaning up a lot of that today, seeing what is kind of still intact. And you can see my

basement, straight from the stairwell now. So this was the moldy room, and thankfully it is a lot less moldy. It's still very loud, again doing continual dehumidification and remediation and a bunch of other things. But yeah back there along that wall was where the main shelves are that we're going to be clean stuff off of, the water was just leaking in crazy right there.

But also right here a lot of wet stuff was. Anyway yeah this is just going to be another one of these videos of cleaning up the moldy junk and the things from, you know, the collapsed ceiling and attic grossness and tree gunk and rainwater, and just general nastiness. A lot more modern stuff you know, my Steam Deck and my Nintendo Switch and my main gaming PC and a bunch of things. A/V Equipment. But yeah, we're going to start off with some old

weird mice and odd peripherals and retro LGR stuff, computers and displays. And it's just a bunch of things, let's get to it! Mm, The Golf Mouse, golf ball putting green mouse. It's definitely watery inside. Or at least condensation building up, I don't know if you can see but I think so. Oh yeah that...

Yeah. Those instructions are toast. Not that they ever said much but yeah. Can hardly even read that anymore. The pad is still fine though. And this definitely got hydrated, like the sticker is a little nyeugh. And our balls are moist but they're fine all three of them. All right, put this in a plastic

bag, this is another salvage. Just lost some instructions, and the cheap packaging which was terrible. This one. This got hit pretty directly too, it's the Cirque Glide Point Portable. It's a touchpad, early touchpad or, trackpad for PCs. Yeah this one was like stuck to some other boxes and it just adhered to them... yeah that's... not great. So we do have floppies and they actually look pretty good, despite this being pretty moist. This might actually still work, let them

air dry. Just drivers and a copy of Typing Tutor Six for Windows. [crows cawing] The crows agree. So I'm just going to take all these

out... Yeah. Basic paperwork... Hm! Tiny little wrist rest. Yeah, starting to mold but pages didn't fully stick together. And the thing itself which I'm sure is fine. Honestly it had a lot of paper around it and that seems to have taken the most of the moisture, but yeah. Windows 3.1 serial trackpad. Looks like these top ones definitely

got more damage than the drivers, at least to the labels. Again though not the worst. IBM ThinkPad Enhanced Port Replicator, cardbus port replicator with the compatibility for the IBM 380xd that I'm so fond of, which thankfully was in another room and survived. But it was still sealed, new old stock. So we'll see how IBM's packaging job from 30 years ago held up. This thing is just adhered to itself. [crunchy cardboard sounds] Hm! Well what do you know? No mold, all the way up to this point. All right, yeah. This is going to be perfect, all we lost was the

packaging. That's awesome. Yeah there was a hole there but thankfully the barriers of cardboard and stuff kept anything from getting through so, beautiful. Look at all those ports! That's nice. Oh good, good good good. Yeah that's it. Seriously mold everywhere else but inside, that's great. This one might hurt my soul a bit. This one looks okay actually, but these

others ehh... yeah it's the Capsela 1000 kit, one of the newer ones re-released by Educational Insights. I hink I got it maybe 12 years ago? It's got some damage, might just clean this cardboard off. But I bet the insides might be okay. Plus everything in here is pretty much plastic, so. If I can save this box I will.

Oh yeah that's all good, that's all good. So water didn't come pouring down on this one, I think it mostly poured on one of these other ones which really sucks, those are vintage. This was made in 2003 as sort of a recreation, but they still include the old school Capsela booklet and everything. Yeah I love these things. Still perfectly fine, all this is fine.

Yeah. It's all good! Just a little a little humid, so I'm going to let this air out and try to clean up the slight bit of discoloration on this. These other two though, ugh. I hope they're okay. Does my lens keep going in? Is it just loose? Anyway. This is the Capsela Infrared

computer remote control 5000, this is one I lusted after so hard as a kid and got it with the intention to cover on LGR. And it was pretty soaked. And I think maybe this one was maybe okay too, the computer program control 2000 kit. These are all modular you can all just mess with them, all together and they all connect! Yeah. It's kind of rough just in terms of the seepage. Sears Surplus Store, was $125 now it's $60.

1985 by Play-jour. I think it's a French Canadian thing if I recall. I also had my original Capsela catalog from when I was a kid in there with this stuff, but thankfully it was underneath a lot of things and didn't get destroyed. Cuz that actually has some

sentimental value, this I just got on eBay probably, I don't know, seven or eight years ago. I still want it to be okay though. Oh hey hey, all right! Oh yeah so this got a little... yeah. But the seller had this in here and I

just never got around to opening it because I was going to do it for a video so it's good. Nice oh thank goodness. I was worried about all these motors and little electronics and little, you know, this and like all these things you just you need in order to hook this up or to to get it to work the infrared stuff. That’s great, thank goodness. So I think this will be okay too, we might have just lost the instructions. But yeah this right here your little patch cables go in and stuff, I think that's fine. Doesn't even look like there's any moisture

inside. Yeah that’s a relief. It's a bummer about this but perhaps there's a a copy of this on Internet Archive or something. If they're still up. Yeah that's like, it's so stuck together it's just hard. Yeah that's rough. So is the box but, yeah the contents are pretty important. All right and this one! The computer program

control. It's just a a little bit more advanced. But pretty much all the same pieces. Such a cool system! I imagine this is probably okay. Like it was up against the other box but it doesn't really look water damaged, eh, still open it up. Yeah that box is good, just slightly warped.

Nice! And this is perfectly fine, yeah this is going to be great. Oh the space link, I remember this too. Dude look how cool this stuff looks! I think that might have been the kit that I had, it was like the 200 or the 250 or something. Had one of the smaller ones. And then some other little add-on pieces, I don't know. I've still got a lot of pictures of the things that I

made when I was a kid. This is in good shape. That's a relief. Would have been a shame to lose the Capselas. Shame to lose any of this but you know. Capselas are like, pretty special to me. All right hoping this one is not too bad. It's the Robotic Workshop MB230 for your home or personal computer. In particular Commodore 64 for this on.

And while it was definitely affected, it was sticking to some other things it was close to with all just the humidity and moisture in the room... yeah, looks all right overall so I'm just going to wipe it down. Hopefully it's okay. Almost yeah, almost starting to mold on top here, just little bits... I wiped it down with a dry cloth when I pulled it out there the other day. Let it sit outside for a few days in the sun, nice and dry. And yeah it's

just like, little a little bit crusty, but overall not too bad hopefully. Yeah this definitely got some mold down here. Hm. I really would like to save this box if I can. Let's just get it all out of here. Hm... Dang! Well the contents are good. So yeah this is another Capsela

thing, or at least it's related to it. Uses the same parts and just with a computer interface thing going on. Multibotics. Just those little bits of moldy residue on there but the box definitely has some nyastiness going on. Just going to take that corner off. Yeah if I can just maybe just trim off this corner the rest of the box I think I'll be all right. Let that air out and see what I got to do but yeah, contents are good. So hopefully I'll still be able to

demonstrate this with a Commodore 64 at some point! Okay I got some Apple 2 external disk drives. Guess they probably work on Macs as well early Macs, but you know. Not too bad they were just in the moldy room. These are probably just dirty from existing. Yeah honestly these will be just fine, they were just sort of they didn't get like immediately, or directly soaked or anything. They were just laying on top of those shelves that themselves molded. So, they got molded by proxy I guess. Yeah just like this, just like laying on a

molding shelf. Yeah... those Frog Design ridges and grooves. Always a challenge to clean. These will be fine! All right well this is a bit different, not retro but still woodgrain.

This is my gaming PC from the living room. I mean it was my main gaming PC just happened to be hooked up in the living room to the TV and yeah. Custom thing made for me by Xidax. Yeah. And unfortunately it was underneath the collapsing of the

roof and everything else. And the tempered glass on this side completely shattered it’s just gone. It did start to mold a bit. I think that's an RTX 2080? It was a pretty good machine still, and I really really liked the case. But yeah, it's going to need to be rehoused at the very least. But yeah I

don't know cuz like the entire top part here, this was like... the rain and everything was just going straight in there cuz it's all mounted with all the ports up to the top unfortunately. So I really don't know like this looks, it's clearly just, it was coated in water and like attic junk and there were branches in it, it was kind of a mess. Literally it got cut out of the debris and rubble, so you know who knows! But just take these things out of here, obviously those aren't suiting or suitable for any kind of purpose anymore. Oh there's still a USB thing in here, I was wondering where that was. It's 256 gig, I can use that. Yeah let's get this glass off. Aha, there we go. So that bit of tempered glass survived

and it doesn't look the very worst. SSD in there. Yeah. I just don't know like, in terms of the water damage to the GPU and all that. But like considering it wasn't powered on or anything? Just get this gunk off of the woodgrain. Cuz like it was starting to mold a little bit. Oh jeez, all this attic stuff still in there. Nasty like,

cellulose insulation garbage. That cleaned up all right huh? Not bad. Will just be a very airy case. There was a bottom piece on here too, I don't know what happened to that. Yeah that cleaned up better than I thought it would. I thought there were some deeper like bits of whatever from the roof there but, guess not. Just some slight scratches,

so. Yeah I think I'm going to rebuild this into another case even though I love this one. I don't know maybe I'll just keep it as it is! If anybody knows if I can get like just this tempered glass and like some of these parts? Cuz I don't actually know what this case is called it. It was a case that was customized by Xidax like years ago, and they just like you know, somebody that used to work there sent it to me. It was a something that showed up in my mailbox and I didn't know what it was going to be, so I didn't design it. I don't know exactly what the case is, but if you recognize this case design, let me know so I can maybe find components for it. Or I don't know, it'd be nice to restore this cuz it's a cool PC.

All right, so this was my PS5. Still is I guess. It got, again like, a roof fell on it. But held up a little better than I thought it would, just knocked off these side pieces, which I had never had on before. But yeah it just kind of dinged it a little. Eh you know, some ceiling fell on it. Adds some character. [jays screeching] The Blue Jays agree apparently. You know, I mean again though like, while it was under hurricane rains for I don't know, a few hours? I let it dry off for a couple weeks so... and like yeah I don't know, blew out

all the gunk, there was a bunch of gunk. Not from regular dust but like attic residue and tree stuff and there was bark and nails, all kinds of stuff. But you know... the actual thing? Might just be fine, we'll see. [distant trees cracking] Wow. Taking out some more trees over there, I don't like that sound!

Sheesh. Seriously that sound is going to haunt me forever, I hate that sound. I need a better rag, this thing sucks! I don't know where the controllers ended up... oh yeah! Minor scuffs but it's cleaning up nicely, bet if you took a magic eraser to this it'd be fine. It's just kind of, you know, dented. But not much at all. I don't need it to look

perfect. It would be nice if it just worked! Huh! That's easy. Aw man my camera turned off, anyway. Snapped on there quite easily and I'd say it looks pretty... okay, not bad at all, just like minor little divots and stuff where a roof came on top of it. But it might just still work perfectly

fine. I don't know, here's hoping! Aha! Found these PS5 WhateverSense controllers. They still got a charge going! I think these were out of the way enough, I had them like in a drawer. The drawer and the thing that the drawer was in, you know the whole TV stand set up, completely smashed to pieces when the roof caved in on it. But these were in there and I think they're probably going to be fine! Just a little nasty you know? Hm! Yep couple of scuffs but everything feels fine, and yeah they both got just a bit of power going on, so.

Noice! Yeah, covered this in a weird mouse video, the Mus 3 optical mouse. Packaging is cooked. Mouse is probably fine. Yeah well it's pretty wet in there. Don’t care about this packaging. Yeah that's all... you know... I mean it'll dry out but like...

Eh. Yeah... those batteries are disgusting. And the mouse seems pretty much untouched. Yeah I think the moisture was just on the side here. That is a dry mouse. Hm! Let’s see, it's the 4D Mouse. Honestly this looks fine. I don't even know if it got wet, it was just moist. Or you know, humid, hydrated,

whatever. Yeah definitely a little little moist but not much honestly overall? Yeah this is fine. Yeah. Mouse is untouched, perfectly dry. Enough packaging was in the way but yeah the cardboard is just

moist. Yeah totally fine, I've already backed this disk up. This doesn't look so great by comparison. Macintosh compatible track ball pro. Another one that was stuck to stuff, yeah this one was directly under a bunch of water, in fact I think it was stuck to The Claw? Packaging is hosed. CD will be fine, that's not even for this, this a Belkin router CD... Okay. All right well this is all that's in here, and again the packaging seems to be the only thing that got the moisture, or the water. Obviously things could seep inside of here, I'm going to take all

these things apart and just open them up to make sure, but it's probably just fine. All right The Claw, ah what a shame. I mean it wasn't amazing packaging but it was nice to have, oh well.

Oh yeah definitely got pretty wet underneath there, you can see all the inside of the box it's molding a lot inside there, so that's toast. Or at least I don't want to do anything with it. The Claw itself though... you know, we'll see. Yeah this one wasn't like brand new or anything, it doesn't even have anything else inside the box, no drivers or software, documentation. So it's you know yeah it's definitely watery. Cuz that that brownish gross water is coming off on

the cloth there but you know! Physically it's in pretty good shape. No mold. Now this is just packaging for a Microsoft Mouse, which the mouse was stored separately so it's fine. The only thing in here is like a– yeah, floppy disk and a serial adapter. Oh that's soaked. But again it's already backed up

and stuff. But yeah that got soaked. Yeah it's wet inside too. I don't know about that! That's going to be fine. Now... the cool pink documentation, oh-ho. Well yeah, yeah that's that. Yeah so it goes. I think I unboxed this on

video when I did Windows 3.1 or something, some build video or Windows something. No visible mold on this one, it's a Thermaltake 7-inch Drive Bay LCD, goes to a special tower they made. And it's just in a random box but it got wet. Just a copy of the instructions. This never had its box with it when I got it.

Okay, okay! So yeah despite it getting pretty wet on the outside there's no visible damage or anything. So yeah this is an oddity, this is just a straight up weird thing for a weird tower. Definitely still want to cover this. Yeah it's all good! All right. Ahh again, kind of a shame it's the MonsterGecko pickle – pickle? The pickle mouse! PistolMouse! Yeah... again packaging is screwed and molding and gross but... Mouse is probably fine cuz I always

put these things back in their packaging and keep them encased like that. Those ridiculous instructions are still intact. Oh yeah it's molding inside the box and everything. Yeah this is perfectly fine. Mm. This thing just was moist but I don't

know... yeah the MicroPad this is, this is just a numpad thing. PS/2 numpad. That's perfectly fine, still take it out of there, but... Yeah. Perfectly good. That's all that is. No software no nothing. Yeah, no mold no nothing, I don't even think it got hit directly with water, it was just in the room where water was so, got moist. Aw this one sucks! I was going to do a video all about these like like, old school wireless mice and input devices and stuff. This was one of them! The Z-Nix

Cordless Super Mouse. Got hit pretty directly with a lot of water, this thing was just drenched. 1992... That said though, it's molding inside but... yeah! Could be worse, the manual is still flipping though.

Entire Windows operating system guide? What, does this have a copy of Windows? I guess it does. That's insane. Yeah this is this is just a copy of Windows. That's one way to get around the license agreement. Water damage. That's ridiculous look at this. So you got the mouse setup disk here and all the rest of this is just a copy of Windows 3.1.

I think these are going to be fine too, just let them dry out. You know I think this will be okay. Still in the plastic, no water got in here. It was really just soaked up by these top two manuals. I think it might have been saved by the copy of Windows

3.1, cuz a lot of water went into the bottom of this, look how thick that is. Didn't get through all there. That's, wow. So here's the wireless receiver slash cradle for it. This thing is so cool. Man, all right! I guess I might still be able to cover this, just let it air out and I think it'll be okay. Yeah this is sort of the biggest

casualty is just the user's guide. It's getting a little mold on there, put that in some... I don't know, something that kills mold. All right. Here's a VCR which is... it wasn't dusty and these scratches weren't there, but it's looking all right, fine I guess? Yeah I had this out digitizing some tapes just a couple weeks ago, hopeful this is still good. Thankfully this was way underneath like a bunch of stuff that I I think ended up kind of helping it survive. You know a ceiling came in on it, the roof and stuff and

there's a TV on top and a bunch of crap but you know, whatever! It wasn't visibly damaged under there, necessarily. The only part that I noticed that kind of like, it got, yeah you can see there as the roof came in and just sort of slammed and got smooshed I think into the hardwood floor? Anyway other than that and some scratches, it will probably be okay. I didn't have the remote for this anyway, so... there's no remote to find

here. Good deal good. Good old JVC. All right finally found this. It’s an Apple TV 4K something or other, my main streaming box from the living room TV. And while it was under the collapsed ceiling and collapsed TV stand, and the TV itself was “plbbpt!” It seems to have survived okay, but I don't know.

Just going to clean it up and hope that I can find the remote, cuz no sign of that. That's a bit of an issue in terms of using it. Yeah. I don't know how wet this thing got or anything, but you know. It looks okay it was just under a bunch of tree debris. That got a little bent... the roof coming down on the outlet will do that I guess. That's fine. Here's hoping I can find the remote or just get another one. Ah here we go, Star Trek Next Generation

Mouse. It's a mouse! Yeah part of that whole set. Hm. This is pretty wet but I think the contents are going to be okay. Got some mold starting in there, but... what a mousepad. Beautiful. Yes this is going to be perfectly fine.

Moldy packaging but y’know. That is just the worst, wow. That's terrible. I can't even feel it with my *hands* hands. And that feels terrible. Why are the buttons so dang big, look at this like your whole...? All right guess there's no software. “No software required.” And also it's cheaper that way. Here's the

box, it's a mouse, it's a mouse, it's a mouse, it's a mouse. Bootleg Wesley Crusher with that '90s haircut, look at that. Wonderful. Ah this one, this one aw. So this was a new old stock Microsoft Intellipoint PS/2. And unfortunately while it was sealed in the plastic there must have been enough of a break in the seal, or just enough water dumping down on top of it to really soak this sucker through... Oh yeah, that's just, this thing was like sopping with water. There was just water coming out everywhere when we were taking it off the shelves. Oh it's, oh it's bad! Oh it's just, oh it's

terrible! Mouse is probably fine cuz these are encased very nicely from Microsoft back in the day. This though? Honestly this is wet enough to still come apart. That's pretty gross. But... well, partially anyway. I mean this is all scanned in, as far as I know on Internet Archive. And I have another version of this. But the disk? Hmm. I'm curious.

Yeah that is dry... Dry as a bone! It's definitely starting to condensate in here, but yeah this is great. Nothing wrong with that at all. It's one of those super shiny ones. Quite like these, these are very good mice. Oh yeah new old

stock! Close to it. Microsoft WheelMouse! Optical. Loved this mouse back in the day, early 2000s. This one was also completely and utterly soaked. Molding like crazy. Yeah that is [knocks on table] a rock solid manual! Not going to use that. CD is probably fine. The only way that would be messed up is if like the plastic had, you know, gotten wet and then sticks to that and it starts tearing off things, but.

Thankfully it hasn't been in there long enough for that to happen so that's fine. And the mouse is going to be fine too. Like this stuff, again it's encased, Microsoft always were doing this back in the day. Yeah it’s still like new in there. Such a good mouse. Lovely. Ahh what a shame. The Yahoo 8D Internet Mouse. This one was hit very directly with a lotta water and it is now

disgusting! Thankfully I've already done a video on it. Cuz it is a moldy mess. Yeah that got... eh, you know. Again all this stuff is already backed up, so. Yeah mouse is perfectly fine, that's good. Let this continue to dry but it's not moldy or anything so, sure. Another one of these, the Tastykake!

I don't think this actually got dumped on so much as it got really, really humid. I mean it was like 90% humidity in that room. Oh yeah this is perfectly fine. This is all that was in here, so.

The Tastykake survived! I know everybody was *so* worried LOL. Eh whatever something's totally fine, survived that room it’s not even like warped or anything so, I'll take the win. PowerMouse by ProHance, this was on Oddware a long time ago. This was under a very steady stream of attic juice and tree gunk, it was gross.

Ah dude, ahh sadness. Steppenwolf, no! Again at least I made a video about it. But not gonna be keeping this, this is – It's mold, mold, mold.

Again though, I think this is one of those just due to the way these things are packaged, like this is fine, no water no moisture appearances or anything. I think it's just because of the way that – yeah that's perfectly fine. Wow, did not expect that cuz that was under so much water. All this packaging and other stuff just in the way before you get to the actual hardware. Now the software, I don't know – oh that's pretty pretty wet... Yeah definitely got some water damage on the labels. But... yeah I think that's as far as it went. Yeah the disks themselves seem all

right. If I haven't backed these up I definitely will put them aside to do so in the future after they dry out. Just going to take off the the cover there but I think the manual can be salvaged, it's just the top of it that seemed to be a little screwed up. Hmm Logitech MouseMan, the Bus version.

Mm! So this has a Bus Board inside. Yeah just ever so slight bits of moisture there, but no signs of mold or moisture inside beyond that top little bit. Awesome, good. The bus board, that's why I wanted this. That's still good inside there so this thing is going to be great. Just a classic mouse, classic design from Frog

Design! Yeah software is good, it's just that little bit of paperwork. Ehh, there might be a little bit of white kind of moldiness starting there, so I'm going dry this out and see if I can get that to stop. I think this might be fully salvageable though. Starting to lose light here! So this one just another oddity. The AirObic 2 ergonomic Designer Appliances mouse. This was always in rough shape in terms of the package. I don't think it got dumped on too much, just a little on the side. Here's the note from Spencer and Dexter who sent this over my way.

Honestly it is these kind of things that I feel kind of the most bad about cuz like, folks donated stuff and then it ended up in a hurricane. Was not the intent! But thankfully yeah it's always kind of looked like this in terms of the package, cuz it was a thrift find so. Actually I'm going to air this out, not going to put that back together. This thing. The GyroPoint Pro. Still sealed. I think some moisture might have seeped in there near the bottom. Probably okay though.

Yeah definitely some got in, just around the corners... not much though. Honestly that could have even been there before the storm, I don't know. I don't remember. Yeah I think it definitely got a little extra hydrated. I remember it holding up a little, or you know, being a little better shaped than this when I bought it. It's been a while though. Yeah definitely some signs of slight water damage here, so we'll open it up.

No mold inside. That's gonna be all good. Yeah just, it's damp but you know. It'll air out. Yeah this will be fine. All still sealed up. That is a complete success So this is a Logitech First Mouse. And the box is pretty well trashed but I think I might have taken the mouse outta here because I've definitely used this a fair bit, and I don't think it's still in there. Nope it is, ha! Must have put it back. “For safekeeping.” Lotta help that

did. All right yeah. Moldy inside the box. Disk is gonna be fine, of course I've already backed that up so it's fine anyway. Yeah. Hardware is good but the box is pretty trashed and this definitely got water damage and it's starting to get gross. Yeah... not as bad as it could be though! Let that air out.

Mouse is perfectly fine, just a classic early three button mouse. Good ol’ serial 9-pin. It's a shame about the box but whatever, just kind of yeah, it doesn't really matter I mostly wanted it just for the mouse you know? Just kept around the box cuz why not. The Cadet PC Radio. Yeah I don't know how it got smashed. Yeah this was right smack dab in the middle of all the water coming down out of the ceiling from the rain, so...

That's just, that's just... Software is good, I'll get that backed up if it's not. Probably the card and all this stuff is going to be good too, so. Here is the uh, a letter from Kyle who sent it over found it at Free Geek in Portland. Well, sorry to lose that box. Manual's a little iffy but it's here, so

just clean the mold off and let that exist. This will this will live to see some use for sure! All right. Got some mice here that were in the path of grossness, but honestly? They don't look bad. This one was the only one on the table, well this table,

when all the rain came on top of it. So I think these other two are just fine! Which is crazy cuz this one right here? Was on top of a computer keyboard... That got dglbulbeuh disgusting! Yeah. So this was right here. And the water got there, so. Lucky mouse! The Amiga one though is just lightly gross. This is one that converted

to optical, so... No ball to worry about. That’s pretty much it. That thing is nasty though. [exasperated sigh] I mean really the whole thing needs to come apart, but – I don't know, I don't know. I want to do it right but I also need to

do it quick, because I honestly just need to get all this stuff cleaned up enough. And it's all got to leave here within a few days because demolition and remediation and all that stuff for the house is about to happen, so this place just needs to be fully empty. I guess I'll just, tsk! Normally I wouldn't do this but whatever... Yeah there’s going to be all kinds of just gross stuff down inside the keyboard at this point, but that full restoration will have to wait. I’ll get this drying out in the sun for a while. Got another one here for I think it's a Macintosh Plus? Or maybe an SE, I don't remember, I think it's for the Plus. Anyway it was also in kind of a gross

spot but it doesn't look too bad, just a couple little bits of things got on it briefly so that's good. Yeah. Not bad, not bad. Aw this sucks! Man! This was right underneath a lot of water coming in... Unfortunately this is a really old really cool CD-ROM with one of these. It might still work, I don't know.

Hopefully it's just external kind of water damage here and it didn't leave, I don't know who knows, if it got inside the mechanisms that's... that's so crappy. But yeah 1992. I think it is a single speed? Maybe a two-speed CD-ROM. I think it's a single! Anyway I just love that mechanism. Man! I was wanting to do like a

386 multimedia build with this as the main drive for optical, but yeah. Maybe it'll be salvageable. I mean externally that's a lot better, but it's the internals that I'm concerned about here obviously. Yeah here's hoping! Here's hoping it's okay. This is kind of sad to see just cuz I've never seen another one. [sighs] it's cool and I plan to do a video on this and some other security devices.

This is a desktop fingerprint scanner from I think the early 90s, an LGR viewer sent this in. Lemme get my mask on for this one. It was under a lot of water, the rain was pouring in on top of this. And it got quite moldy, I really– [moldy box cracks open] Ohhh. Well. Maybe this isn't as bad as I thought it might be. And the hardware itself isn't too bad. Needs a light wipedown. I was thinking there'd be some software and documentation in there that might have got messed up but I guess not! It was just the box and this.

So. Hopefully can find the software for it cuz I'd still like to cover this. Hm. Fingerprint scanner module itself seems perfectly fine. Well if anybody

knows where the software is for this thing, or what I got to do to get it going, I guess let me know! I didn't realize it didn't have any with it, or if I did realize I forgot! I got a few mechanical modern keyboards that are all in pretty disgusting condition. This is a Keychron C1. This one is a Filco Majestouch 2, I quite like this one, can use it as USB or PS/2, it's very handy for older systems. And this was just an extremely cheap like, Amazon special. Ah, it cost like 15 bucks, “E-YOOSO?” I don't know, I mean honestly, this was so–I only had this for uh... gosh, the Gateway Astro I guess? I just wanted a white keyboard, so I don't even

know if I'm going to bother cleaning that up. I might just stick that in the dishwasher see what happens! Sometimes that’ll do it. This one in particular I really wanna get it cleaned up, this is a nice keyboard.

And the Keychron’s fine. I have a lot of other Keychrons that I– this one's really light, you know. Honestly though the way to do this would be to simply take it apart, I mean it's a fully... well can you take this one apart? No this one's not as – you can't take this one apart as easily as I was thinking. I was thinking of one of the other ones. Well, I mean all these keycaps could come off but... I don't have any of my stuff with me here, because that is all pretty much currently in storage cuz the house is about to be ripped apart and remediation begins, so guess I'm just going to clean it sort of briefly. Thankfully this one isn't too bad.

Amusingly the green mold kind of blends in. Yeah if I can just get this immediate nastiness off of here, I’ll give them a full cleaning at some point. [phone rings] Oh gosh. Yes I know the water is bad. Yes I know it might not work again. Every day... I appreciate the updates and yet at the same time I don’t! “Boil your water, don't drink it.” “Dysentery is bad you don't want it.” Yes I know.

Not ideal but it's better! This one's nueghugh... Ugh, this is just – I know I know... I’ll let this dry off, put it in the sun for a while. Again, cosmetically sorta better than it was, but needs way more than that! Now this, this got pretty darn soaked. It was right under a ton of water coming in. The thing was just drenched I mean it was dripping water just pouring out when we took it off the shelf. And I'm sure that the packaging is

thoroughly ruined, so. Yeah, this is the Innov@t Keybo@rding for Dummies. Basically it's a keyboard with IBM Via Voice from an Odd Job store. Oh yeah, inside of

there’s... got all kinds of stuff growing in it! Not worth keeping. The contents though are probably all right. Just kind of moist.

And warped. But not sticking Together. All right! Yeah these are going to be good. Those are still in the plastic, everything in here is was new old stock, so. Yeah we'll just take this out of here and put it in another box. Those headphones! Or the headset rather. Oh dear. Call center vibes. And there's the keyboard. So it is interesting yeah, you got audio right

here. So it is a little bit odd, I knew there was a reason I had this! Ah. The passthrough to connect your PS/2 mouse, not included. Interesting. Welp. There's the box and there it goes. And this is fine.

Well dang it. You know it's not like it's the most rare thing ever, but it was new in box. Been wanting to cover this dm2 forever because I used to have one back in the day. And this one got pretty darn soaked, another one of those that was just absolutely drenched in rainwater and attic juice and trees and disgusting hurricane stuff, so. We’ll see if it survived! The thing is these things also have like, a lot of that really truly disgusting soft touch rubbery kind of stuff on the surfaces. Oh wow,

this whole thing is just... stuck to itself... Oh gosh. [painfully rips cardboard] ...This might be okay! All right. Very light bits of mold around the edges but not much at all. And the inside looks fine. Software and all sorts of stuff. I'm honestly just curious now of the condition of it period, cuz like

I was saying the the soft touch, all this? The one that I had from back in the early 2000s just turned to mush, and I got rid of it, it was just truly disgusting. To the point where like it had gummed up everything so much that it it made no sense to hold onto it. Oh this one's still good, oh this is still good. So the soft touch plastic is for the moment intact. I'm going to leave it in here, it's a way better result than I was thinking considering how just covered in water that box was. So this is an IBM WorkPad, a Z50 I think. 2608-1AU. 1999. Yeah ah. It was pretty

soaked, not as bad as some of the other things on the same shelf as this but... yeah. Yeah it's hard to even see here but there's definitely some water discoloration. Not much, considering the shelf it was on, like I said this could have been been way worse. So lemme just see what the insides are like briefly... Oh yeah this is gonna be perfectly fine. It's all still in here, it's all

still new. Wonderful! It don't even smell like crap. Just wanna make sure there's no mold setting on the inside underneath there in the corners. Oh yeah perfectly fine in there! This is a fascinating thing if you haven't seen it before. It's like a ThinkPad except it's very much not. It's a Windows

CE ThinkPad-like deal, uses PCMCIA and yeah. That's, it's, it's a neat system. That's a huge win. I was kind of worried about this when I saw that shelf considering it was in a moldy, moldy room for several days. Ahh, you never know. Thankfully it's good.

Now this... if this is wrecked. I just don't know what I'm gonna do. to do. This is from something I got from Ukraine. Don't even remember exactly what the computer's called, but it is a ZX Spectrum Clone, Soviet-era kind of thing. I got it in 2015 if I recall. There's an interesting story behind this thing's acquisition... Anyway, guess I'm gonna open it. Because it's been sealed since... I don't, I don't know. I've certainly never opened it.

Niiice, oh! It's my first time seeing this! Even though I've had it for like 9 years. Cuz yeah I was gonna do a whole “unboxing/setting it up/using it for the first time” special. But considering the box just got ruined, yeah. Definitely tell some moisture got in here.

But other than that, it's looking wonderful! Check out that tape! Dang it's pretty cool! No idea what it is! If anybody can read this let me know in the comments. It doesn't look moldy in there or anything, so. Sad to lose that box. But glad all the stuff is intact. Look at this scary power

supply, my word. Dude. Heck yeah. [sniffs] Smells like a... like the back halls of a YMCA in the early 90s, sort of mothball-y.

Little bit of mold and mildew, but that's probably because of the the storm. There’s definitely a little bit of grossness in the plastic here but yeah cuz there was mold down there. Look at this thing! I don't know if you still can, but for a long time you could buy like Soviet-era machines from Poland, Ukraine, I think Romania, Russia of course, on eBay for really cheap and they were like new old stock. This paper is wild! It's like it's like stamped in there, you can see the relief of the teh characters. This is so cool. Anyway! Yeah. Put this in another package of some kind and get it better preserved for future use. And/or giving to someone who uh– because I know a few collectors of these types of things, so yeah. Sweet Glad this survived!

All right, got a ViewSonic LCD. A quite nice one in this aspect ratio and I believe it was new old stock when I got it... guess it still kind of is. I like to have a couple of these as spares for future things but you know, keeping it in the box, well. Side effect is it got extremely wet and soaked with all kinds of nastiness when it was under the hurricane rains. So... honestly though? Yeah no moldy residue or anything in there. The box is definitely

moldy inside, but the monitor? Yeah. that's what's important. And you know, things like this the ViewSonic Wizard. Got some software in there, it's going to be just fine. Lovely new power cord. I mean you know this needed to be unboxed anyway, honestly, I need to use it. [dog barks] [Clint mimics dog barking] To you too! That sure does look nice. I like that. That's probably why I bought it. Anyway! That'll be a

beautiful LCD with uh, [plastic plate falls] Okay. Thought that was hinged. Yes these are great, and thankfully this is just beautiful condition. And you know need to be out of box anyway so. Whatever. Oh this is a shame. This was my LaserDisc player from the living room. And pulled it out

of the disgustingness that caved in, and definitely has some ceiling come down on it there. So I don't know I don't even know where the remote is. Yeah I don't know it might be okay? I don't think it was really like soaked in a ton of water. Like I said

mostly it was just the ceiling came down on it and then the water sort of soaked through that, so it depends on what came through. I don't know. But if internally – I mean you know, these things are sealed up relatively well. Be cool if I could find the remote. Unfortunately that was on the table that was in the center of the living room where the trees literally came down on top of. And like I haven't found like anything from that table.

Might have got lucky with this too. Most of the brunt of the ceiling and roof coming down seem to go on like on top of all the other stuff. Like the TV and in the actual entertainment center. And this is underneath all that, so doesn't look like it took too direct of a hit, just kinda right here. And the metal, while there's a couple of little slight divots, doesn't look too bad. If it would have come down in the plastic that would have been a different story I think. The metal is fine, yeah just slight little bits

where it came down on that. That's it, the bottom looks great. It wasn't under like a bunch of water, it's just sort of getting leaked on from above. this would be so cool if it still worked. I'm hopeful it will. As for my LaserDiscs themselves, that? Who knows! Who knows. All right there's my Blu-ray player, UHD Blu-Ray player, Sony thingy.

Haven't even had it for maybe a year I don't know. But yeah does look like it took too much damage really, it was just buried under some branches and some shingles from the roof, some nails and stuff. But yeah, other than getting scuffed up, seems fine. Like this wasn't even – didn't appear to be damaged. No clue whatsoever what happened to the remote. I can't seem to find any of my remote controls. They were under one of the tables that collapsed, so...

Uh-oh. Uh-oh I just noticed this when I uh... Yeah it shouldn't be loose like that. Yeah crap. Well yeah... I mean that can be replaced but...

That's annoying. I guess it stressed this. Crap. All right well, here's my RetroTINK, this is the 5x which I used all the time in the living room and it was still hooked up to my LaserDisc player actually. But yeah had a whole ceiling come down directly under this, in fact this took a lot of the ceiling and roof, and just house collapse damage. But like it seems to be intact and whatnot. The cables were yanked out

of there so I don't know. But we'll clean it up. I mean you know. It's looking pretty good. If it was all just cosmetic that'd be pretty great. I mean you know I've got a RetroTINK, one of the 4K deals that I use for video capture. But this, this is just for

like my analog upscaling to HDMI. I was using for LaserDisc and retro consoles and VHS and all– I mean I use this all the time, it was always hooked up and plugged in. All right found my Switch controller. I haven't found the Switch yet, it's somewhere but yeah. This was just in a pile of debris from the living room to be tossed out, so I'm glad I found it first.

I forget how this thing even – haven't used this particular controller in a while. Was just seeing if we got any lights or anything. Oh yeah. It might just not even have a charge, I don't know. Anyway.

I mean these things are quite solid so I wouldn't be surprised if it still worked, once I give it a charge and stuff. See if I can find my Switch! Ayyy here we go. So I got that and the actual console. So. There's the Switch. It's been drying out for a couple weeks at this at this point. Yeah! It's at least turning the power on so that's a

good sign. I was wondering if moisture got down in here because, so. Here's — it was inside the dock cradle thing underneath the TV, right underneath where the ceiling and roof and everything caved in, so it was in here. And there was water all in the bottom of this. So... I don't know, you know? Like it's dried out but it was pretty nasty water so I don't know. All this stayed hooked up though, with the ceiling collapsing on it and

all sorts of crap. And I still have the Toast skin wood veneer you know put it that way. Did a video on that like forever ago it's still holding on there, still holding strong.

Even if it was scuffed up you could like, you could just sand it down, varnish it or whatever cuz it's actual wood. Yeah so I tried when I first found this to just sort of scrub out the the gunk that got in there on the USB-C connector and stuff. And it seemed okay but I haven't plugged it in or tried to power it or anything, you know. I'm really hoping that the actual Switch here doesn't have any water damage like in the screen. I wasn't noticing anything when it was trying to power on there, but this is just you know, the launch one it's not OLED it's not even the “001-01” deal, it's this is the very like, I got it right when it launched.

So yeah, anyway. Sure cleaned up nicely. Just glad the screen wasn't like visibly screwed. and I don't think these have suffered from stick drift. Honestly I pretty much have never used these little joy-con deals, ever. I've stuck to the Pro Controller anytime I've used my Switch, so. Noice. [chuckle of cleanliness] Good stuff. I am hopeful for this.

Steam Deck. And this is just the case. Because, unfortunately the Steam Deck was out [chuckles] being used. And the ceiling didn't come down directly onto it, but it was under a lot of ceiling and attic and roof debris, some trees.

Fair bit of water. So I don't really know what we're looking at here. Cuz yeah this was just out, it was out on a tabletop and the oak trees just came down right on top of the table this this was on. So. You never know.

So far so good though. The card is still in there. This is the uh, launch model 512 gig with the, I guess it's like an etched screen, anti-glare sort of screen? Yeah, getting nothing. But that doesn't necessarily mean much. Cuz it has been – it was, I always

just like leave it in standby or whatever so it can just run down the battery. Typically though you see a little bit of something here, I don't know. Yeah I'll try charging this at some point. [bird chirping] Hey little bird, what are you doing in here? [chuckles] He's coming in the carport to say hi. Little woodpecker I think.

Man. Gonna start storing this thing in the case from now on, cuz yeah everything in here? Perfect! Other than some some junk from the attic, what is that, that horrible attic cellulose insulation crap. Well I’ll put this in here for now. Test it at a later date. But yeah. Who knows we'll see! Alrighty, well that's going to be it for this particular moldy LGR episode! I'm in the other one room of the basement that wasn't fully affected. The power is flickering because I'm not sure why? I guess storms. We've been having

wind storms. [disconcerted laugh] It’s not over! It really is annoying. Yeah there were like gusts last night of like 45 mph, trees going crazy. Anyway, thankfully I cut down all of the problematic trees around my house already. Spent a lot of money to do it but I think it was worth doing just for some peace of mind for future stuff. But anyway, the cleaning of things is more

or less done at this point in terms of the items. But there is also just other stuff that I need to attend to at this point, so I'm not really sure when the testing of items video is gonna be going up or what that'll even look like? I haven't even started testing most of the stuff yet as I'm recording this. But either way thank you very much for watching. This ongoing process is crazy! And I don't know really what's next, it's just been day to day. So I genuinely appreciate your support, especially if you're doing so like financially on Patreon or through YouTube or anything, cuz you are my main income right now it's just I don't know what to say except thank you. You have my gratitude and this community is

more important than ever to me, and for continuing LGR! So thank you for that. We will keep on going as things can. And that's all for now, thanks for watching!
