Walden’s Winter 2022 College of Management and Technology Commencement
(upbeat music) - [Narrator] Graduates, family members, friends and colleagues, faculty, staff, and guests, Walden University provost and chief academic officer, Dr. Sue Subocz. - Hello, and welcome to the ceremony for the college of management and technology. We are so excited to celebrate with you during Walden university 66th commencement weekend. Everyone here is tremendously proud of what you have achieved.
Just like our traditional ceremony, we will confer each degree on the groups that have earned them. Then we will recognize each of you individually. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos and hearing your names. But even more than that, I'm looking forward to hearing about your accomplishments in the years following this ceremony, as alumni.
We are a family and as a university, we are committed to your lifelong learning. We want to know about your impact and we want to continue supporting you on your social change mission. That's what we mean when we say Walden is dedicated to education for good. Now I'd like to introduce the Dean of the college of management and technology. Dr. Karlyn Barilovits.
Dr. Barilovits has been with Walden university for just over a decade and currently serves as the Dean for the college of management and technology. She played an instrumental role in building the master of science and information technology and doctor of information technology programs.
Dr. Barilovits also previously held the role of associate Dean for the school of information systems and technology. She has experience as a programmer with NASA's jet propulsion laboratory and twenty-five years of experience in leadership and teaching in higher education.

We're proud to bear witness to your accomplishments and celebrate you on this day. As a Walden student, we know you've made sacrifices, as you progressed through your courses, residencies, dissertations or doctoral studies to become a graduate of this institution. We honor your hard work.
And as you celebrate this day with your loved ones, know that the sacrifices you made were worth the sleepless nights, loss of time with loved ones and the stress of juggling your personal, professional and academic responsibilities. We also recognize that you pursued this degree through a pandemic that caused much loss. Your graduation is a Testament to your mental stamina and strength that helped you forge a path to the finish line. Please know that we see you and celebrate all who have helped you get to this point today. The degree you earned today provides you with new options for your life. We also encourage you to join the ranks of countless lifelong learners who recognize that earning a degree is not a stopping point in one's educational journey.
We encourage you to keep learning and to keep growing. This degree will provide you with options for your personal development that you have never had before. As a graduate of Walden university, you hold a degree from an accredited university. This degree conveys the prestige of the numerous programmatic accreditation and accolades of the programs you graduated from. These accreditation's and designations signify Walden's commitment to evolving the student learning experience for you, and for those you will affect as positive social change agents. On this special day, don't forget to thank all of those who helped you make it to this point.
Your faculty, your classmates, your colleagues, your friends and your families. Most importantly, thank yourself and show gratitude for your mental, physical, and spiritual health. You stand today with your diploma in hand, you have the necessary tools to go forward and live Walden's mission of positive social change. You're in a unique position to make change in a world that's a need of expertise in management and technology. Congratulations.

That's right, wherever you are in your living room with family or at the kitchen table, where you did your homework, please rise or signify your presence to those around you.

As scholars and practitioners who have received doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees, you may now grasp your tassels, and move them to the left side as a symbol of your academic achievement.
(all cheer) Congratulations, your degree is the culmination of hard work and perseverance. It's been a rewarding journey, but not an easy one, I know. Especially during this past year. you should be very proud of what you've accomplished.
As of today, you're now official members of the Walden university alumni community, a network of more than 164,000 alumni from over 165 countries. Welcome Walden university alumni. We will close out today with congratulations shared from our faculty and staff.

You have reached a milestone in your life that I'm very proud of each and every one of you. You have worked hard, sweat, sleepless nights, and now you're about to cross the stage. - Good morning, all of you Walden graduates, it is such an honor for me to be here congratulating you this morning on this momentous occasion. I am certainly elated for you and your success. As you move forward in your career, remember all things are possible if you just believe.
- Hey, school of council and graduate students. Congratulations on your work. My name's Dr. Luis Lacourt. Really proud to be here, I know you've worked hard to get to this point. So this is well-deserved so best wishes to you and your future. - Congratulations graduates.
This is Erika Stevens from the enrollment department and on behalf of my team, I just want to congratulate you. You all did a fabulous job. - I just wanted to say, congratulations on making it to this milestone. Your hard work and dedication and determination have paid off. And I wish you well. - Congratulations to all of our tempo learning graduates.

- Hi everyone, I am Dr. Tammy Totten. Just wanna take a quick moment to say congratulations. And I always remember you have done hard things, you can do more hard things to make a change. So go forth, be fierce. - I just wanted them to take a second to say congratulations. You made it. It's time to celebrate all the hard work that led you to this happy occasion.
We all know the road to graduation is long. It's a steep climb. So take a moment at the summit to be proud of what you've accomplished. - Congratulations graduates.
Please use the knowledge you acquired to better the lives of others in your community. - Congratulations everyone, Dr. Joe, here from criminal justice. This is a very, very big step and a significant accomplishment on your endeavors towards social change. - I know that you worked very hard for this experience and for your goals to be met and just that you continue on your path for exceptional work and just kudos to you. - Congratulations, Walden university graduates.
You have invested in yourself and persisted to the finish line. This is huge. And the faculty at Walden are very proud of you. We look forward to the positive social change we know you're moving toward right now. Go out and make us proud. Congrats again. - From the bottom of my heart, congratulations.
