on the media used but on average monthly if no picks are frequent pick roller cleaning is recommended tools for the task a long lint-free cotton swab distilled or filtered water flashlight press the poweron button to turn off the printer then unplug the power cord unplug any other cable from the printer remove any paper from the input tray lower the input tray lift and hold the input tray Shield caution do not remove the input tray Shield it can prevent debris from falling into the paper path and causing jams or other problems look down through the open input tray and find the gray paper pick a003 absorber toward the front of the printer and then to the right to remove it from the side of the spit chimney replacement Orient the new y f68 a003 absorber as shown insert the end of the absorber that faces the front of the printer into the spit chimy tuck the end of the absorber faces the rear of the printer into the spit chimney until the entire absorber lies flat check the absorber installation from the side and if the absorber is not lying flat remove it and try again reinsert the chimney foam you removed earlier note that the chimy foam has a notch on the left to allow clearance for ribs at the bottom of the spit chimney if the chimney foam is not properly placed remove it and try again replace the one F3 y1 841 absorber note remove as much of the adhesive as possible any residual adhesive could potentially prevent the new absorber from attaching properly to the printer vase and effectively absorbing maintenance inks removal starting at the sides of the 1 F3 y1 841 absorber use the scraper to loosen the half of the absorber that is closer to the front of the printer when the front part of the absorber is loose cut away with scissors again starting on the sides use the scraper to loosen the remaining half of the absorber remove the remaining half of the absorber and then scrape away any remaining adhesive replacement cut the new 1 F3 y1 841 absorber in half remove the adhesive liner from the half of the absorber that goes toward the front of the printer then carefully lay the absorber in place making sure is flat the sides must not rest partway up any of the sidewalls use the scraper to press the edges of the absorber firmly down remove the adhesive liner from the other half of the absorber then carefully lay it in place making sure it is flat the sides must not rest partway up any of the sidewalls make sure the two halves of the absorber meet if the absorb is not flat lift and try to place it again platin absorber replacement authorized service technicians perform this procedure to replace plattin absorbers that have accumulated ink due to borderless printing on average replacement might be required after 200 pages of borderless prints tools for the task scraper tweezers text swipes or other lint-free swabs disposable gloves alcohol replacement parts needed y f68 800001 absorber L plot and left y f 6882 absorber L plottin right before you begin remove the scanner module assembly note the old absorbers contain residual ink to avoid printing problems be careful not to get ink on other parts of the printer such as to the right starting from the edges use the tweezers and scraper to loosen the absorber from the adhesive remove the absorber after the absorber is removed continue to use the scraper to remove all residual adhesive use alcohol and a text wipe or a lint-free cloth to remove any adhesive the plot and surface must be clean and dry before you install the new absorber replacement remove the backing from the new y f68 a001 absorber align the absorber with a plottin ribs and then carefully lay it down making sure it is flat the sides must not rest partway up any of the side walls use the scraper or tweezers to press the edges of the absorber firmly down if the new absorber is not flat remove it clean the plattin again and try again with a new absorber remove and replace the Y s6880 to absorber removal if necessary Slide the carriage all the way to the left starting from the edges use the tweezers and scraper to loosen the old absorber from the adhesive remove the absorber after the absorber is removed continue to use the scraper to remove all residual adhesive be careful not to damage the plate and ribs use alcohol and a text wipe or a lint-free cloth to remove any ink the plate and surface must be clean and dry before you install the new absorber replacement remove the backing from the new YF 6882 absorber align the absorber with the plate and GES and then carefully lay it down making sure it is flat the sides must not rest partway up any of the sidewalls use the scraper or tweezers to press the edges of the absorber firmly down if the new absorber is not flat remove it assembly screws lift up on the left side of the feed shaft assembly and rotate it out lift up on the collar on the right side of the assembly remove the feed shaft assembly remove the paper encoder replacement place the new paper encoder into position and carefully press it onto the feed shaft assembly reinstall the feed shaft module note the orientation of the collar on the right side lower the left side into position replace the two feed shaft assembly screws reattach the link on the left side of the feed shaft replace the motor Cable in the routing Channel
