Pike & Zander fishing in Sweden
Welcome to Specineers We have traveled to Sweden where we will fish for pike and zander for two days together with Christian We are in the area called Småland and it is a couple of hours drive from the Danish border In this area there are many good lakes for fishing We will primarily fish with shads like these Christian has them in many different colors and sizes We will try a little different and see what the fish want We will also cast with smaller shads It´s more like “soft jigging” We have some of them here in different colors The special thing about this is that we search for the fish We've been fishing for a few hours We are in March and we started out this morning with minus seven degrees celcius Now the sun is shining and it's great weather I know you're not so happy about this sunny weather when we fish for pike No, it reduces the activity level of the fish We have seen how the pike have swum around under the shoals of prey fish We hope that there will be a bite period later We focus on the evening fishing It tends to be good It is completely new to me to fish with the help of this livescope system It is a kind of extended sonar Can you explain what it is? A traditional echo sounder will show you what you have passed Livescope works more like a kind of underwater camera that can point in different directions We see what happens live (below the surface) So what happens is that we find the fish and place our lure in front of the head of the fish and can sit and watch the screen Yes, then you can see that it gets closer and maybe opens its mouth (to bite) you think We experienced it a moment ago, where I thought you had a bite We'll see that here in the film and I can promise that it's really exciting It's almost more exciting to look at the screen and see a fish come up and bite on a lure than it is to hold the fishing rod when the fish bites Yes, sometimes you strike too early when you see the fish attacking the lure on the screen It gives the concept of guiding a different perspective You fish and are guided to just reel in a little or give a little line... Now you have to make some small movements... Now the fish comes so you have to be ready It's super exciting! Someone might say it's cheating What do you think about that? Then you have not tried it! You can find the fish, but it also increases the frustration when you see the fish, but they will not bite You see that the fish are there and they look at the lure and then swim away again It's a new technology that offers some new possibilities but it does not provide a catch guarantee No!
