back you guys let's try that again shall we let's have a look here um i'm just going to have a look see if i'm back um i did just try to go live and work live for quite a few minutes and it just ended so i'm just going to start again um for the replay people um and for those who can make it back um okay all right that's good that should work all right guys i apologize for those who weren't able to stay on i'm sorry for the connection breakdown but hopefully you can either come back or you can watch the replay at a later time um i'll try to keep this quite succinct because i know that we don't really even though i've spent hours and hours drawing all these other whole food store websites to compare everything for you you really just want the summary don't you so i'll try not to spend too much time actually going into too much detail i can be a bit of a nerd about such things as many of you know uh so if you haven't seen the website in the last 24 hours you may not know that we made the shift from officially from the wholefoodcollective.com dot a you to stacked smoothie dot co stacked s t a c k d without the e and so it's we're super excited jordan has spent a long time developing the branding and the logo and even though our daughter says the color looks like boogers and vomit we love it we think it communicates everything that our blends stand for which is providing energy and vitality and fun and deliciousness to everyone who you know eats eats those drinks those smoothies and eats the blends that we make and it's it's something that it has been really fun for us to develop it's been you know saying goodbye to the whole food collective brand has been uh hard in many ways for me particularly it was you know my little baby and i just you know it's been a transition time but now looking forward and embracing this new direction has actually been super cool and on the side i've been developing as many of you would know a new challenge which will lead into a monthly membership where i can really devote my time into those people who join me there and we're going to learn all about not only how to get your kids eating healthier without them even knowing but also what habits what small little tweaks can you make that will make the biggest bang for your bike so to speak with your health and for the health of your family as well and so it's all about simplifying it's all about ease which i've definitely sat on both sides of the fence over the years and definitely decided my side of ease so that's all coming up uh we also have a celebration promotion hopefully going out tonight to celebrate the brand changeover which i'm thinking don't no promises here but i think it might be 10 off store wide so keep your eye on your inbox for that tonight lastly before i get stuck into this comparison is we are changing our obviously our domain which means that our email deliverability is going to have to go through a little bit of a slow work up again what that means is that we won't be able to email everyone you know once a week with fresh recipes and all the rest that we usually do but rather we're going to have to drip feed emails over eight weeks or so until we can then build up to email everyone all at once so if you don't see an email from us for a little while we're still here and we haven't gone anywhere but we're just having to try to be a bit more strategic this time than we were last time because when we made the shift last time our email deliverability plummeted and we kept landing in people's promotion folders spam folders and people were getting really frustrated saying i want your emails and like i'm sorry i can't do anything about it so this time we're going to be more strategic and hopefully get into your inboxes when you want us to so let me just check that it's actually still working still and then i can get um i can share with you this comparison that i've been making yes we're still on wonderful we're still on okay so i have made you a spreadsheet you can see in the pinned comment of this post you will see that there's a link to a spreadsheet when you click that link it will create your own personal copy of the spreadsheet that i've made for you so you don't need to worry about editing it it will just be for you no one else will see those edits that you make and it won't change my version either so there are two tabs on your spreadsheet the first one here is general info this covers all the different categories that i looked at when i looked at all the different well not all of the different whole food stores online because i am surprised at how many there are there are so many online whole food stores in australia i was quite surprised but what i did is i took the ones that i felt had the most promise based on the categories that i've selected and compared those for you so the categories we looked at were whether they were australian family owned and operated because that's important being having having a business as a small family has made me realize how much more i want to support other businesses run by families it is um it feels like such a blessing and you feel so encouraged when people actually support your brand and it makes a big difference to that family so i want to just i wanted to prioritize that i also wanted to prioritize the range now we had quite an extensive pantry staples range at the whole food collective we didn't have a whole lot of homeware goods we didn't have a whole lot of beauty goods we didn't have a whole lot of snacking goods and so if you guys were used to ordering with us i figured that pantry staples is likely what you'd be looking for moving forward so i wanted to make sure the pantry staples range was sound we also looked at packaging size now a lot of you guys were telling us that you wanted bigger packaging than what we could offer and so that's what i've looked at as well to see who could offer larger packages who's got the smaller ones because that suits some people as well um etc now a big thing that the whole food collective we're known for is the quality right so we have this external expert panel who scrutinized the spec sheets of every product or every ingredient of every product before it then is available on our website what i was surprised at is that even though there are so many beautiful people out there running whole food stores is that no one really had an ingredient policy as robust as ours is and it did surprise me a little bit but what i can tell you is that the people running these stores and i spoke personally to all of them except for one i'll tell you about that in a minute they are beautiful people who actually have great awareness around what to look for um in terms of vegetable oils in terms of sulfurs in terms of refined sugars additives all the rest it's just that they may not be as strict as what we are often they will offer both uh a regular conventional perhaps with additive option and then they'll also offer an organic additive free beautiful other option that you guys would be used to sourcing through us and so what you'll need to be in many cases not all cases but in some of these stores that i'm going to recommend you've just got to go into it knowing what to look for and we can chat a little bit about that today as well i also wanted to make sure that their packaging wasn't you know all plastic i wanted to make sure that they prioritized um sustainability uh we looked at whether they prioritized australian grown products also did a price comparison which is on a different sheet that you can look at whether they do bulk discounts and shipping as well so what their shipping rates are etc so it's quite thorough we actually spent a lot of time on this and i hope that you guys appreciate it and use it i want you to be able to source the best food you can so let's have a quick look at this it's my alarm to feed the dog so i remember and she doesn't starve um okay guys honest to goodness part and parcel kaya organics or is it kia i say kaya because that's actually my daughter's name so that's just she spells it differently but we spell it differently the full pantry naturally hooked and roarsome pantry mostly from the full pantry and up are the ones that i really dug deep on naturally cooked i wasn't able to which i'll tell you about in a minute and the other ones that i culled for various reasons with these ones and i'll i can tell you about that later um the two top ones that i feel most confident in recommending to you would be honest to goodness and part and parcel the reason for that is that one they have a very clear um and obvious ingredient policy where their quality you can just you can tell that they take quite judicious care with what they bring bringing having spoken personally numerous times with dan the owner at part and parcel i can tell you that he's just as passionate as jordan and i are about the quality of ingredients and about his story is so similar to ours and so it feels nice to to know that there's almost like a another twc out there in many ways it's also a membership platform and so if you've followed the whole food collective for you know 18 months or more you would likely know that we used to be a membership platform so what that means is that people would pay 59 for the year and that would give them access to great savings on all their products we did shift over from that about 18 months ago but that's what part and parcel are as well and so they have actually also they're the only store who actually offered you guys a saving on your first order so it's you guys will get 20 off your first order with part and parcel um 99 minimum order first customers only upper terms and the details are in the spreadsheet but because of that 20 off it basically offsets that membership fee and so then they basically become the better priced one too and they've got a great ingredient policy so i feel quite confident recommending part and parcel we'll talk about their range in just a minute honest to goodness are probably the store that have the biggest range the biggest packaging sizes and i guess the most um they've been running for years and years and years and they probably stock their products are stocked in probably 95 of health food stores around the country so they are very well practiced they run a very tight ship um they know what they're doing you can actually order they can register as a wholesale customer with them so if you order 500 or more then you get better prices the wholesale prices um many people actually create what you might call a co-op um between a couple of families or maybe more so that you can reach that 500 minimum threshold more frequently and easier and they've got a link that you can click up put it there in the spreadsheet uh so that you can register as a wholesale customer or a co-op if that does not float your boat if you cannot be bothered creating anything like that and you're not going to be ordering 500 at a time then i would suggest um choosing from one of the other stores that we've got here so there's quite a few so what i've i have shortlisted them though so there's not quite a few anymore so um let's just have a look at honest to goodness that you know what all of the stores that i'm going to talk about are family owned and operated so i'm just going to skip that um as i've said we've talked about their range already packaging sizes now honest to goodness their smallest flower size is five kilos that's going to suit a lot of the whole food collective members i know that lots of you wanted that if you don't then you've just got to keep that in mind when shopping with them otherwise for their other products they both they have both large and small so you can choose when it comes to quality honest to goodness are mostly really good um you do just need to watch out for sunflower oils that aren't organic and cold pressed and uh here we go and just make sure that they've got the organic range that you want so for example they didn't have any organic dates when i looked last um so but honestly though their range was impressive their quality is impressive it's not as strict as what we are but still really up there still pretty good when it comes to their packaging though because it's a bit of a beast because they are such a large company they're not able to well they say they're not able to use compostable packaging on their product because and this is my assumption from my industry knowledge they are not they have so many products sitting on retail stores shelves all around the country for months on end and so they don't have compostable packaging doesn't have the shelf life that regular plastic does and so what that means is they can't make the ship to compostable packaging until there's some uh advancements in the technology of compostable bagging is what they've said and so that's my that's a bit of a drawback shopping with honest to goodness is that it is plastic okay um they do prioritize australian grain and all of the stores that i'm mentioning do they wash when it comes to price they were shortlisted on price they weren't the best when it comes to price but they were shortlisted as really good on price because if if a store that i looked at wasn't good on price i called them for you so the ones i'm sharing with you are all pretty good on price um they do offer bulk discounts like i've told you about you can see here that the details about the wholesale accounts and they're located in alexandria sydney so you can do a pickup if you'd like they don't do free shipping they don't have a minimum order for free shipping but they will pass on the cost of australia post to you so once you go to checkout you just enter the postcode and then it will come up with your shipping rate review which i know is a bit annoying because you don't know what you're up for until the end but it's all based on your postcode and how much it weighs and what volume it is so it does get a bit tricky with us we just made the decision to subsidize everyone's shipping so it's you kind of know what you're getting in for when you shop with us um but it does make it more expensive for the storeholder so i do understand why people do it that way okay let me just check i'm still still on last time i was speaking for about 10 minutes before i realized it had cut out so we're still good we're still good um i can't see any comments i think everyone gave up when it died last time so if there are comments happening then i'm sorry i can't see them and i won't better talk to you but we'll just see how it goes yeah we're good okay so the next story is part and parcel i have mentioned them briefly already they have a very similar story to the whole food collective i've got a bit of a soft spot for dan and his wife who i've now developed you know a little bit of a relationship with over email um they just seem like very genuine people who have a religious blood sweat and tears poured into their business to you know try to bring high quality health food to australians without breaking the wallet which was exactly our philosophy when we went into the whole food collective so i just really vibe with those guys they have thousands of products lots of snacky items lots of smaller packaged items lots of beauty and home goods their pantry circles range has grown even just recently they've brought on a whole bunch of things that were in our top 20 um selling list that i'm going to tell you about in a minute that weren't there the first time i looked so i know they're working on developing that pantry staples range i think now there's only one product of our top 20 that they don't have which is coconut water but i'm sharing with dan who our supplier was at cocoa coast and he's trying to get them on board so hopefully that will work so oh that's better my throat was getting sore okay so quality yes big focus on quality they've got um lots of activated seeds and nuts lots of organic and biodynamic lots of really lovely beautiful products um dan estimates oh sorry when it comes to euca packaging i asked dan what his breakdown would be um he estimated you know about half was recyclable maybe 15 was compostable 20 might be recyclable etc so he um he just gave that break down there so you can just see on your spreadsheet there what that's like and when you go onto the website you can have a look around and have a feel for that as well they absolutely prioritized australian grown that's a big focus of theirs and for price they were way up there for best pricing um like i said they have offered you guys a deal and that's listed there you can have a look for the code um with their shipping they have they've kind of got this middle ground um they've tried to that they've they had they do offer a flat fee depending on what category of region you live in whether you're metro regional or rural they'll have a price for you and so i've put the details in there it's between nine dollars for metro 22 for super remote so you kind of you do know what what you're up for when you go in which i like and they are located in melbourne i hope you're still with me guys here we go we've only got i think two we've got two more stores to talk about kaya organics or kia don't know their range is good they are family operated uh the owner's lovely i spoke to him on the phone you can choose as much or as little as you like which is awesome it's like a bulk food store it's a it's a bricks and mortar store that also post online um so you can choose between 100 grams and as many kilos as you like with these guys the thing that i didn't like and i spoke to him about was that there's no ingredients disclosed on the website for any of their products um i spoke to him about it and suggested a way that he might get around it but it's it's more of a massive big tech project for them because they're not just an online whole foods store they're a bricks and mortar and that's where their focus is whereas the whereas the shipping around the country a bit is more of an add-on and so they just don't have the manpower to sit and manually type in all the ingredients and they don't have the automation that we do to upload all of it all at once so that being said he was really aware of things like the vegetable oils the refined sugars the additives and preservatives and he's quite staunch on what he will and won't accept so it just depends on whether you're willing to trust um that he'll be a good gatekeeper for you um or whether you want to even place a phone call they're so approachable with placing a phone call to them and just asking the question when it comes to packaging you can actually choose at checkout whether you want a brown paper bag with a sticker or a food grade plastic bag or a compostable bag with a cable tie on it they're pretty basic which i love um and you can just choose what you want to do they do prioritize australian grown they were shortlisted for price they don't do bulk discounts um but they are located at macrobat in brisbane and so that they unless you're living right there at macrobac which i know the majority of you won't be um they'll just pass on the exact cost that they get from australia post make sense so you just have to call them actually that was one thing i did want to tell you with the shipping cost you just have to call them to get to confirm the shipping cost which i know it's a little bit annoying but that was that that's those guys um the full pantry is the last one that i want to talk to you guys about in the in this level of detail um it's actually a mother and son um and super sweet family so they're family owned and operated they've got a good range you can choose the packaging size again same as the last one the quality is not always on point they like to basically give people options and so this is another store that you're going to need to go into it knowing what to look for and so they might um their main their main priority is being a bulk food store that reduces waste rather than being a health food store that has super high quality standards like we do so um i noticed that they've got some what did i notice about them my head's gone too much with all these different comparisons that i've made but i do remember seeing something that i would never stock but then also seeing a really high quality product they absolutely would stop so you've just got to go into it knowing what to look for they do have a really good organic range um eco packaging you can choose a freezer bag plastic or paper and so obviously at checkout just choose what you like and just put a note in there and they'll pack it according to what you want uh they were shortlisted on price as well oh and they do offer bulk discounts so if you want five kilos or more of a certain product then you can call them and discuss a discount just ask for joel or malachi the notes are in there malachi is the mum joel's the sun and they're happy to happy to wingle a deal they're at croydon melbourne and you can pick up from them um if you want to if you want it posted around the country they do just pass on the exact cost again from australia post and that's it now the last two here guys so basically i've shared with you four options honest to goodness part and parcel kaya organics and the full pantry the first two are really they're very quite clear on their ingredient policy they've got high quality product we've got a good range one focuses on large packaging and one focuses on more retail size type packaging the other two underneath also look good i have never used the two underneath because i've never needed to i've always had an owl i've always been out of source from the whole food collective um but i'm just still that they're they provide more options according to varying levels or degrees of quality but the pricing might be different as well so what i want you to do is just make the choice based on what you think is best for your family and i've given you a price comparison here as well naturally hooked just a quick note guys about naturally hooked i tried to get in touch with them as i did with the owners of each of the other stores i wasn't able to speak to the owner of naturally hooked and so i don't know a whole lot about them the reason that i've included it here guys is that um that they were top of the list when it comes to pricing that being said there wasn't a whole lot of difference between the pricing of many of these stores the last one i wanted to talk about is rawsome pantry now heidi um here on the sunshine coast she's here on this facebook group of ours she actually brought this one to my attention um just yesterday and i wanted to make the time to look at it for her but i just didn't get to it it's actually public holiday here on the sunny coast and so i didn't expect i didn't know that and so i wasn't expecting my kids to be home from school today i was planning on doing that this morning so i haven't done that but they look fascinating they've got a kickstarter page i've linked it there for you but basically what they have done um they've got a zero waste policy whereby they go straight from in many cases straight from the farm or the importer and they send to you in these uh reusable velcro bags and then you pour the produce into um some of those you know forever glass jars that you can actually get from them as well and then you send those reusable velcro banks back to them my gut instinct is oh what about all that extra kilometers and travel time and carbon emissions you know traveling you know sending back back and forth blah blah but i'm sure that they claim that it's actually far less carbon emissions and it's far better for the environment this way so i'm sure they've done their research but that would be my first question but it looks really great i haven't looked at their prices i just look at their concept of sustainability and i love it so check them out if you're if you're into that the other stores i considered are listed here don't want to spend too much time talking about them but i did call them because i just had to choose the top four you know so that's why i've done that and i chose the top four based on the balance of price and quality hope that makes sense okay guys here we go we are going to shift gears to this second tab here this is the price comparison sheet again i'm not going to spend a whole bunch of time talking about this because you can just look at it in your own time you don't even need to really i know spreadsheets aren't every everyone's uh idea of a good time they are my idea of a good time it's a bit sad but it's true uh so you can see here guys that there is a list here this list here is the top 20 products that we sell sold at the whole food collective i wanted to take the most popular products and compare them to all the stores that we've been talking about and more and to see how they compared on all these things so now you can see where my where my cursor is here that blue border that's one store that's honest to goodness and you can see here that here is the size that's the brand that's the url if you wanted to look at it the price the price per 100 grams notes on the quality of ingredients notes on coo is country of origin sorry that's shorthand that we use in our team and then any notes so you can see that we've done that for honest-to-goodness and lots of you know part and parcel we've done that for all of these stores and more um so you don't really need to have a look at it all but what you do want to do is come to the very end and you'll see here the comparison price per 100 grams i'll just move my face out the way and so you can i'm just i'm just laughing because i've just realized in greater depth what a nerd i am um i have hidden the stores that didn't make the cut and i've just kept the shortlisted stores that we've spoken about and then i have colored the cheapest one green since this is a price comparison rather than a quality comparison i did just make one note here these are red because the quality was no good they're dark chocolate chips and that is definitely something that you know it's they're less frequently come by the higher quality dark chop chips are less frequently combined so you can actually see here in the price that's reflected they are the cheapest but i wouldn't recommend buying them and so here you've got the options elsewhere a part and parcel um seem to have come out on top there so guys i hope that helps you can see down the bottom here that uh these numbers here represent how many how many times that store has had the cheapest product so you can see here naturally hooked as i mentioned has seven of the cheapest products of the top 20. that being said i don't know much about them and i'm not feeling you know super confident about recommending their quality so that's just a caveat the next best price one is part and parcel and with your 20 off that they've given you guys as our community members um you'll likely mostly pay for that annual membership fee and then you'll get access to all those prices there um kaya organics the full pantry and honest to goodness as well are there now a quick note again on honest-to-goodness you can get better prices with them if you register as a wholesale customer you don't i'm pretty sure you don't need an abn you just need a minimum 500 order but that being said they offer the function of a co-op or you know a couple of families coming together to order together and making that workable so i hope that this chat has helped you see what option might suit you moving forward in accessing your higher quality organic whole foods elsewhere let me just check if anyone's okay i haven't seen any comments guys are you actually alive um and i hope this helps um guys i will cut it off there so that the replay unless you've got questions if you've got questions send them through right now unless i'm just not being able to see the comments that you might have already left but if you have any questions at all i'm always here so just post in the group or comment right now on this um on this video replay or the live function whichever and i'll so happily help you out with questions about anything um quality of ingredients um for stores as to the best of my knowledge like i said i've only ever personally ordered from part and parcel i've heard very good things about honest-to-goodness and the others were new to me so i hope that makes sense um but coming up in a couple of weeks i'm hoping it's a couple of weeks if i can just get my act together and actually record the videos that i need to record then in a couple of weeks maybe three we will launch our brand new challenge which is has got nothing to do with our blends or anything like that um my heart lies in actually building a community of parents together who want to make rapid and big change with their families health without actually feeling like they're investing their whole lives into it so what i mean by that you've probably heard me talking about how to get parents how to get kids eating healthier without them even knowing that's what i love to do with my own family with my own five kids and so moving forward i feel like that's where i want to be sitting is with other parents and supporting them and teaching them what changes are going to make the biggest bang for their effort back with their own family and so that's a whole new world for us to get into within coaching families for years now in our smoothie and fibre challenges and also just generally here on our facebook group and the 21 day health with my family challenge interviewing experts and having just had now a decade and a half of parenting experience when it comes to whole foods definitely learnt a few things along the way so i'm really excited to release that new challenge and be a free challenge and we have an opportunity at the end to join as a foundation member for our monthly education support membership which is going to be super fun and if you weren't here at the beginning we have officially made the change on our website from the whole food collective to stacked smoothie co and so in celebration of that we're going to do a promotion hopefully tonight which i'm hoping again will be 10 off store-wide but don't quote me we'll just see how we go between now and then i know jordan's going to do a stop take before we can release that to make sure that we have everything we need i think that's it really quickly though on the social handles on instagram and facebook we're having a little bit of a technical glitch instagram won't let us change our name from the whole collective to stacked smoothie coat we know it's possible many people have done it before us but for some reason the ai is not letting it happen and so you'll see that we've changed our logo but the name still remains the same facebook hopefully will actually let us and we're hoping to maybe do that tonight before the email gets sent out so there's lots of stuff happening over here i haven't always i haven't been keeping the best of um best contact you know in the last few months because since saying goodbye to our beautiful team we've just had so much to do we're just blown away by how much we have to do and so it's lucky that we love our jobs we actually love almost everything about doing what we do at stack smoothie co it's actually the first time i've said that usually it's the whole food collective so that's a really fortunate thing that we usually love our jobs but we're just working ourselves to the bone so if um there's a slight you know delay or absence of emails or whatever then please understand but we love you guys and we will hopefully be in inboxes tonight and please let me know if you have any questions about these um comparison of the online whole foods stores spent a long time making the comparison so hopefully it's actually helpful for you and that you can get a lot of value out of it so guys thanks for listening send out any questions you have i think this is the first video in the history of doing videos that there have been zero comments so i feel like i'm not talking to anyone i know you're there i can see that i can see you there but just leave a comment maybe i'm not seeing them but i will speak to you really soon have a great afternoon and i hope that you're warmer than i am see you guys see ya
