Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 Pro, Redmi Note 14 Pro+ So many done individual videos on this. But today we're going to review all the three in one go. I meant the unboxing. [Let's finish it off] [Redmi Note 14 Series Breakdown ] As so many of you asked for the review, I bought it on my own, so kindly subscribe to our channel. So I'm planning a giveaway for you, Do comment your thoughts down. This is Redmi Note 14. Now let's open it. Like OnePlus, Redmi mobiles also comes in red colour box. But the design is unchanged.
In the front Redmi Note 14 is placed in big sized font. They haven't updated their logo yet. It has a good quality back case, documentation, the mobile, 45W adapter and a charging cable. With the actual price of ₹18,999, We expect is curved display, good performance & decent camera. But they haven't fulfilled that expectation. But actually what they did is,
For namesake they used Dimensity 7025 Ultra for performance. There's only a slight difference between 7025 & 7025 Ultra. We have seen this in many brands before. So they just show some differentiation in performance for namesake. It has 4.7Lakhs of AnTuTu score. But it is good only for day-to-day usage, not for gaming. While it's intensively used for gaming, it shows lagging issue in the UI. For hardware, LPDDR4X RAM & UFS 2.2 has been used. We can think that, why aren't they giving UFS 3.1.
Not only in Redmi Note 14, but also in all the 14 Series they used the same LPDDR4X RAM & UFS 2.2 only. It has 3 varieties of Storage, 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB & 8GB+256GB. Hybrid sim slot is given with extendable option. It has 5G band 7, WiFi 5 & Bluetooth 5.3. Though they gave all this, they failed in their hardware option. While comparing other brands, Redmi made a bad choice in hardware selection. Once upon a time, Redmi ruled the industry with its great mobile launches within ₹10,000. Redmi's performance was unbeatable, it shows sold out immediately in online stores.
There'll be a huge demand in offline stores, even we have pay extra money to get the mobile in offline stores. If you ask the reason for this drastic change, I'll explain explain that in the end. If you ask about this Redmi Note 14, the performance is decent, that is not worth the money. When it comes to design & quality, they launched it with 3 different colour varients.
It's plastic build, with 190gms of weight, 7.9mm thickness which is comfortable while using with both the hands. It's has a decent design quality. Display features 6.67-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 2100 nits peak brightness. It has in-display finger print censor &includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. So you can use normal headphones here.
The display quality is good but it only has flat display. The sound quality of Stereo speaker is quite good, that can be increased upto 300% of super-volume. It has IP rating 64, that supports wet touch, you can touch it with slightly wet hands.
If water splashes or dusts covers the mobile, it can bear it and works good. It has brightness level to 2100 nits, but we can feel a lite glair while using it outdoor. If you ask about the camera quality, I will mention it's specifications you should tell me whether it's worth the money or not.
Main camera is equipped with 50MP OIS+EIS, Sony LYT-600 with an f/1.5 aperture value & has good low light performance. Under lighting the photos are good & in potrait mode it increased the colour of the image. The secondary camera has 8MP ultra wide lens, which doesn't have good performance. The next camera has 2MP Macro & nothing special about it. Front camera has 20MP lens & Video Recording supports up to 1080p at 30fps. The stabilization & video clarity,is not good in this.
Wide angle lens & selfie is just okay. Dynamic shorts feature is impressive, It takes photo like a short video & we can choose the frame which pose is suitable. It has AI watermark, Ai photo. So this camera specification is not good for this price range. It can have better optimization, hardware & 1080p at 60fps. But nothing like of that has given.
It has 5110mAh battery, 45W adaptor. This can take upto 1.30 hours to fully charged. The hyper OS has android 14, 2 years of OS update & 4 years of security patch. It's okay if they gave android 15, but android 14 is not suitable for this price. The customisation of the UI is smooth & good, but it's lagging sometimes.
Other features like MiUI dialer, Ai eraser, Ai magic sky & Ai album is given in this range. They also gave extensive bloatwares & ads which makes the usage very irritating. On the whole, Redmi Note 14 has some updates from the previous launches. It has updated inn-display finger print censor, fast charging, wet touch, IP rating, speaker & performance. but it's battery, display, camera,OS & optimization can be improved. But they didn't as usual, I will tell the reason in the end.
Next there is Redmi Note 14 Pro & Redmi Note 14 Pro+ Both slightly differs in charging adaptor. First let's talk about Redmi Note 14 Pro, which is so comfortable & weightless. It weighs 190gms, has curved sides which makes it comfortable to use. The design replicates other brands like Tecno, Huawai, Narzo. Camera design has been inspired by Redmi's logo. It holds a comfortable design, with the back camera bump which can get scratches when we place it down.
It also comes with 3 colour options, one comes with vegan leather & other two holds a glass build. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is used in the back, the front display has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It has a decent quality & they provided a screenguard to minimize the scratches on the screen. For ₹25,000 it has a great quality, design and over-all performance is also good. Processor Dimensity 7300 Ultra is been used, which is also available even in ₹20,000 mobiles. It has 6.2lakhs of AnTuTu score& hardware consists of LPDDR4X RAM & UFS 2.2.
Brands like Infinix is giving UFS 3.1 under ₹20,000 but Redmi failed in its hardware setup. They've used 10 5G bands, good call quality & SAR value, but gaming performance is not good enough. Though they claims that they've used hyper OS & good optimization we can feel a slight lagging in the UI. It comes with Hyper OS 1 along with Android 14, 3 years of OS Update & 4 years of Security Patch.
It's better if they update it with Android 15 and Hyper OS 2. It has so many bloatwares & ads, in brands like Moto, IQOO doesn't have this much of ads & bloatwares. Mobiles under ₹15,000 has better performance that this Redmi Note 14 Pro. For this price the display is good. It has 6.67'' screen, 1.5k resolution,AMOLED display,3D Curved design, 1920Hz PWM dimming,120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support.
3 things that I found impressive in this mobile is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is used for extensive protection. It has 3100 nits peak brightness, which provides good visibility while using outdoor. It also has IP rating 66,68 &69 that supports wet touch screen are good features here. Overall the display is good for day-to-day usage with in-display finger print censor where we can check heart rate. It has Stereo speakers for good audio quality, but doesn't support 3.5mm Jack. With all these display specifications, the mobile gives a premium feel in this price.
Another thing is both Redmi Note 14 Pro & Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has the same display specifications. It has 550mAh battery support, 45w fast charging adaptor with increased capacity than the previous range. With less weight, the mobile holds a high battery support may be because of silicon corbon technology.
They claimed that even we use 1200 battery cycle, it will maintain 80% of battery health. 4 years of lag free experience with decent battery support, To check this, they gave battery health option too. But in Redmi Note 14 Pro+ the battery health is shown in percentage just like iOS. But they give it in words in classic & Pro series. Though the battery is good, the hyper OS isconstantly draining out charging health even while not using the mobile. Primary camera has 50MP Sony LYT-600, but in website they it as mentioned LYT Fusion 800. This creates a confusion among consumers, they've also done this in many days of their products before.
If we ask about this directly to them, they'll provide the certification for authenticity. It has the same censor that is used in Classic Note, but has a difference in the output pictures which is better in Pro. It has f/2.4 Aperture size, low-light performance & detailing is quite good. It increased the original colour of the picture Secondary camera has 8MP Ultra Wide & another one with 2MP Macro lens which in not updated till now.
The output is not good, they can increase the camera lens quality. It has decent 20MP selfie camera, video resolution comes with 4k 30fps. With good stability but low detailing that's not good for videographing. It has same features as Classic Note, additionally image expansion, Ai eraser, Circle to search, interpreter & Ai subtitle is given. Finally in this price there are so many other brands with good camera is available in the market. Coming to Note 14+ it has good build quality with 210gms weight. Mix Corning Gorilla Glass 7i & Victus 2 is used.
processor is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3& 7lakhs of AnTuTu score, can slightly feel the warmth while using. This doesn't support big tasks for this price. It is good for day-to-day usage, multitasking & minimal gaming. Hardware consists of LPDDR4X RAM & UFS 2.2 with 10 5G Bands.
Display is 6.67'', AMOLED 1.5k, 3D curved,120Hz refresh rate, 68Bn+ colours, 100%DCI-P3 & HDR10+ with Stereo speakers & Dolby Atmos. It has 6200mAh battery support, with 90W fast-charging adaptor. They concentrated in increased capacity of the battery here. For this they've used Silicon Corbon Battery, because of it the mobile looks weightless even with high battery support. But we can feel the weight, but this battery capacity in this price range is good because nobody has used this technology till now. Safety measurements are followed finely to support smooth & fast charging support. It shows battery health in percentage like iOS. Even if you use it for a whole day, by the end of the day it has 15% of charge. If you use it sometimes, it can last a whole day.
It also has the hyper OS issue in battery health, even we don't use it the charge is quickly draining out which has been reported by many users. Additionally it has IP 66,68 & 69 protection, that makes it water resistant & has wet touch screen. If you do it forcefully, it may affect the device & you can't claim any warranty. Note Pro+ differs in its camera from Note Pro series, main camera has 50MP Light Hunter 800, 50MP Telephoto & 8MP Ultra Wide. Selfie camera has 20MP, though the main camera pictures are not so good, but it gives a true colour output with detailing. Telephoto & Ultra Wide looks the same, but better in detailing.
Video resolution is 4k 30fps with fine stabilization. But not a big difference between Pro & Pro+ series. Both the mobiles has WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4,IR Blaster & NFC support. It supports dual sim slot, the base varient can be extended to 128GB. It comes with 3 colour options, one with premium Vegan leather. Call quality is so far good. Though we got some idea about the series, we also have some common doubts about Redmi's recent launches.
Firstly why there raising the price, then why they aren't giving importance to performance now a days. Finally why is the device is not worth for the investment. There are two main reasons for those questions. Once upon a time Redmi only had online sales options, within a day, every launch gets sold-out. If we wants to get offline, it will create a huge demand by charging extra ₹1000 for the device. In 2012 when I was in college, Redmi Note 1 was launched. It will get stock out within 5 minutes of pre-booking.
It was so curious to get such a mobile with good performance & under budget. But I couldn't get the device those times. It's their strategy to create the need & demand then they fixed our mind that their device is a good value for money product. That's why even today, we can see so many are believing Redmi mobiles as value for investment. But recently they increased the price & still making us believe their strategy This is the main reason. These days Redmi Note series exceeds ₹30,000 which is not like earlier. Maybe they're planning something like iOS flagship. There was a talk that Note 13 Series has high budget & it doesn't get enough sales. After that they reduced the price.
Now they're claiming that the launched the 14 Series with the same price of Note 14 Series. This is how they're setting the consumers mind with their sales logic. Next reason is, Redmi doesn't have any competitors while it was launched. Even though Realme was also there, Redmi ruled the industry. But today Moto, IQOO even Samsung are overpowering the recent launches of Redmi.
Because of increased online competition, lack of sales & profit they are selling it offline. While comparing it with Oppo & Vivo, we found Redmi as a decent choice. Redmi now becomes offline focused in their sales. Once upon a time, Redmi delivered a perfect quality mobile within ₹20,000,we can use it for so many years. My favourite Note on that day was Redmi Note 7, which has good quality till now so many are using it. Because they changed their focus to offline,it's quality, performance & expectations everything gets vanished. Redmi Note 14 series is really has some upgrades from Note 13 Series.
If you want to get it online, you can go during the sale time. Redmi Note 14 Pro doesn't have much updates, it has good quality & battery in this price. If you confusion in choosing Note 14 Pro & Note 14 Pro+, go for Note 14 Pr+ that has good camera, battery, durability & quality. But if you want better performance, video quality don't go for it. In offline you can get it, but through online there are so many good options. I clearly made the statements, you decide it by yourselves. We will gets comments saying, Redmi is selling through online. Yes they're selling it online.
But their launching focus becomes offline nowadays.
