Hello, I hope you are very well, in this video I bring you the comparison between Samsung's 4k smart tvs, the AU8000 and the BU8000, the AU8000 is the 2021 model and the BU8000, the 2022 model, I wanted to make this comparison in future days but I know that Many of you wanted to see it as soon as possible and the truth is that I did too, so here it is. The first thing I want to mention is that a few hours before making this comparison or filming it, a slightly better luxmeter arrived, I made new measurements and they gave me a little higher in terms of brightness for the BU8000 standard dynamic range the BU8000 reaches 308 nits the AU8000 302 nits and the high dynamic range the BU8000 reaches 312 nits also with game mode and the AU800 304 nits also with game mode the contrast ratio for the BU8000 is 3,914:1 and for the AU8000 it is 3,811:1 both tvs have VA panels however when I took the screenshot the pixels from the BU8000 were a bit different in shape compared tion to a normal or conventional VA panel in general I like the color representation of the BU8000 better it is an improvement in this aspect especially the green colors that look better optimized a greater range of green colors and the red colors do not look fuchsia as they do look in some scenes in the AU8000 but in some scenes whatever the type of content they use and whatever the image mode they place the parts that have shadow or darkness look much darker in the BU8000 and with greater difficulty to notice details here is one of the aspects that made me doubt what type of panel the BU8000 has because what happens is that the televisions that have ips panels or ads are the ones that tend to exaggerate the darkness in a forced way so to speak In this type of parts that have a lot of shadow or simply many dark parts, the other thing that also made me doubt is in terms of colors because the BU8000 shows colors very similar to the What would a television with an ips ads or pls panel show with better precision, especially with the green colors, the blues and the reds , the greens do not look so artificial or so phosphorescent, and the blue color of the sky looks clearer, more appeased, more similar to the reality and as I mentioned before the red colors look redder so to speak, that is to say that they do not look with the fuchsia tone that in some scenes they do look on the AU8000 although I am not sure if through this video they can capture that color tone in the AU8000 that tend to look fuchsia in terms of red colors is not something terrible but it is very noticeable and placing them side by side is not something annoying but it is something that should be mentioned now well what makes me rule out that the BU8000 have panel ads ips or pls at least here in Colombia it is mainly the result in terms of uniformity of black colors and of course the measures I took in terms of the contrast ratio that is very higher cho compared to a television with an ips ads or pls panel and shows less intensity of the clouding effect and light bleeding compared also to televisions with those types of panels the results in this area between these two televisions are very similar at times they are a little better on the BU8000 in some parts of the screen and depending on each type of scene and the results as I already mentioned are similar especially when looking at content with high dynamic range whatever type of image mode they want to use however in standard dynamic range or normal content or simply content without high dynamic range the results are much better in the BU8000 the difference is already incredibly noticeable with less clouding effect but at the same time there is a greater difficulty in noticing the details in this type of scenes with an excess of darkness so for those who have vision problems or some difficulty in noticing details in this e type of scenes with a completely dark room and even when it has a lot of lighting, the AU8000 will be a better option, but if you want less intensity of the clouding effect and more repainted black colors or parts with more accentuated shadows, the BU8000 will be your answer, it is important to emphasize So both TVs have VA panels and probably what happened on the BU8000 is that Samsung improved on this brand's own Dynamic Crystal Color technology and probably also improved on the ultra hd dimming technology that this brand uses on their BU8000 TVs. low-end remember that both televisions are low-end or entry-level, the AU8000 of 2021 and the BU8000 of this 2022, it is also very important to keep in mind that neither of them has full array backlighting nor does the backlighting technology of both have local dimming Edge LED televisions and in terms of high dynamic range technologies, both televisions support hdr10 hlg or hybrid log gamma also hdr10 plus but none of them support dolby vision and I also wanted to mention something that I don't know if you already noticed and that is that for example the film mode and the filmmaker mode look much better in the case of BU8000 and dynamic mode its cool color tone no longer looks as bluish as it does suddenly on the AU8000 it is also important to mention that both TVs in each picture mode both standard dynamic range and high dynamic range have the same parameters in In terms of brightness, color, contrast, etc.
, before continuing here, you can confirm that these are the models mentioned on the left , the AU8000 of 2021 and on the right, the BU8000 of this 2022, and these are the latest software versions available to date, 1904 for the AU8000. and 1052 for the BU8000 I also want to tell you that if you like this video I invite you to please click the like button and also subscribe to my channel If they haven't done so yet, and if they can, acquire a channel membership so that they can access extra benefits, in addition to that, they would support me and activate the notification bell so that they can know instantly every time I upload a new video regarding the uniformity of gray colors on both televisions is very decent you can notice some dirty screen effect and slightly shadowed edges especially with these gray backgrounds but already when observing the normal content both the dirty screen effect and the shadowed edges can practically pass unnoticed the vast majority of the time in terms of image scaling I noticed practically the same results between both televisions when the content has low resolution that is 720p or lower resolution in both you can notice slightly pixelated parts in some areas but they can go unnoticed or by the least will become tolerable and it is from 1080p where the image scaling work in both The televisions are very good. In fact, the content seems to have a little more resolution, but even so, it will not reach 4k, and from 1440p on, the image scaling work on both televisions will be very similar to the results of a Native 4k and of course both televisions can play native 4k content in both standard dynamic range and high dynamic range without problems simply remember that in order to play high resolution content through applications such as Netflix YouTube Amazon prime Disney plus among others they must have a very good internet download speed in their homes or otherwise those applications will automatically reduce the resolution of the content in order to improve its fluency speaking of the gaming section it is important that you know that I have not yet been able to obtain a device that allow me to measure your Input Lag times but for the AU8000 according to the rtings.com page in 4k 60 hertz in sdr is 11.2 milliseconds and in hdr or high
dynamic range of 10.9 milliseconds I would say or assume according to the results that I observe here in practice that the BU8000 could have very similar input lag times or maybe a little lower the other very important thing to keep in mind is that none of them support advanced gaming technologies none of them have hdmi 2.1 ports that is to say that none of them support 120 hertz in 4k and they do not support variable refresh rates either that is to say they do not count neither with Freesync nor with Gsync their maximum refresh rates in 4k will be up to 60 hertz and remember that they are low-end or entry-level televisions it is normal that they do not find advanced gaming technologies it is also important to emphasize that some brands in their lower end tvs say their models have hdmi 2.1 ports simply because they support eARC enhanced audio return channel
and the aforementioned 60 hertz on 4k but don't be fooled the vast majority of times they don't support the most important thing which is 120 hertz in 4k and neither variable refresh rates now well the handling of movement and the fluidity of both televisions seems to me to be very good the time of response of the AU8000 100% of the time is 15.3 milliseconds I do not know the one from the BU8000 and in rtings.com they still do not analyze it and I do not have a device that allows me to measure that time but it is probably very similar or perhaps a little better compared to the AU8000 anyway it seems to me that in the gaming section both televisions perform very well in terms of graphics I handle the movement and representation of colors but in terms of colors yes, the work of BU8000 seems better to me I don't know what do you think about it however when you watch content through streaming applications or when you connect a device to some hdmi port that is different from a video game console the motion management seemed better to me in the AU8000 each of those televisions has this parameter known as image clarity settings you can place it in personal in case you want to modify these parameters manually until you notice the results you want but when you place it an automatic which is where the best results are supposed to be shown I observed more artifacts in the BU8000 it is not something exaggerated but it had to be mentioned because some people could get to bother them maybe through a software update they could improve this aspect in the BU8000 but we will have to wait , their viewing angles are not good because they are televisions that have VA panels and because they are low-end and do not have any type of technology that helps improve this aspect, their colors look a bit whitish and sometimes too whitish when their screens are observed from very wide angles as you can see, therefore they are recommended televisions The problem is when many people have to sit around their screens, it would not be recommended because those people will notice this type of whitish colors and it will not be a very pleasant experience handling the screens. reflections of both televisions is very similar, they are more recommended televisions for dark rooms, like practically all televisions with VA panels, especially those like these that have low amounts of brightness, they are not the most recommended for bright rooms, much less for those rooms that receive a lot of light. lighting from the windows because you can notice a lot of reflection and it can be annoying but at least they are decent for that type of conditions the heating on the screen after almost two hours of non- stop use also of course with video games on both televisions it is relatively low except in the lowest part of its pa Screens where this is considerably increased in all Samsung televisions with ultra-thin designs from both 2021 and this 2022 I don't know why I suppose that somewhere they had to release or throw that heat but in any case it doesn't go away in any of them to feel an exaggerated heat when approaching their screens in terms of inputs, at least here in Colombia, the big difference is that the AU8000 has composite inputs to, for example, connect a very old video game console or a very old DVD for everything else they have the same three hdmi 2.0 ports two usb 2.0 ports one input
for the internet cable one for the optical digital input and one for the air antenna one difference in favor of the BU8000 is that its control already has a solar panel and can also be charge via usb type c port which is greatly appreciated I think it is very good to have these charging options so as not to be changing the batteries every so often as it is in the AU80 00 other changes is that they added a shortcut for the Disney plus app on the BU8000 controller and also a shortcut for the settings button on it which I point out here on the top left one thing I didn't like that many of you already know is that when we look at content and press the start button in the case of the BU8000 it takes us out of the content that we are seeing and that really seems somewhat annoying to me while in the AU8000 on the left you can see that start menu in the part it goes down without altering or taking us away from what we are viewing but probably for some people it is something irrelevant and they could get used to the fluidity of the operating system yes it seems a little better to me in the AU8000 I don't know if later they could optimize this in the BU8000 maybe Yes, we will have to wait, one aspect that I liked is that in the BU8000 and models in general in 2022, in the dynamic image mode, the va gamma color while in the AU8000 and models also from 2021 and past years you cannot, I don't know why and also in the BU8000 you can restore the factory values of each image mode also when watching content through streaming applications while that in the AU8000 and Samsung models from 2021 and previous years it was only possible when they connected something to an hdmi port or when they tuned to the tv icon, their application stores are the same as those of their Tizen operating systems, which is typical of this brand. with a wide variety of non-popular applications and also many of the most popular ones, but what is true and what you should know is that you cannot install apk files if the application you need is not in your application stores, it is not possible to install them By no means, its storage spaces are 3.85 gigabytes, more than enough for almost any user, keep in mind that the applications that come pre-installed wings cannot be deleted on both televisions the function known as screen sharing or screen mirroring is available it can be used with Android devices and also with Apple devices since both televisions support Airplay but neither of them supports what is known as multiview their internet browsers are also typical of their Tizen operating system, they only have an internet browser as such, which is the one I show you, navigation is relatively easy and multimedia content can be played through different web pages if required and here I take advantage To say that in many countries both televisions support the Google assistant, Amazon Alexa, and of course Bixby Voice as voice assistants, but at least here in Colombia, the factory only supports Bixby Voice. I don't know if changing the region can access it . Other voice assistants I have seen videos
that do it, then maybe I will make a video about it where I try to achieve that aspect in terms of sound the power of both is 20 watts but in terms of performance it seemed a little better in the BU8000 especially in terms of bass and that there is less distortion is not a very big difference but at least yes you can perceive a little at least I can perceive it at the end of this video in a few seconds you will be able to judge that for yourselves in terms of sound technologies both support enhanced auto return channel and also dolby technologies to audio including dolby digital plus but only by connecting a device compatible with these technologies to the hdmi port with support for enhanced audio return channel if you ask me which of these televisions I recommend or which one I would choose I would without a doubt say the BU8000 because it has more good things than deficient one of them is the representation of colors that improved a lot from my point of view the other has to do with e he sound that also improved a little is not a brutal difference but there is another aspect is that it is a more recent model and for obvious reasons it will be able to receive software updates for longer the other thing that I liked is that they already included the one remote with panel solar now well the disadvantages of the BU8000 I can get to live with them for example the fact that in some scenes the shadowy parts look too dark is something good and bad at the same time because it allows there to be less clouding effect the other thing is as soon as to the operating system that the fluidity is still not so good but at least it does not seem so stressful to me and as for the design that is renewed I can get used to it because before I was too used to pressing the start button to access the settings as I say I can get used to that aspect that the settings button is already directly in the one located in the upper left part of the one remote but yes You ask me if it's worth changing from the AU8000 to the BU8000, the truth is that I don't find a lot of sense in it, it's not that there is a brutal difference between the two, maybe it's better to wait another year or if you want to update, change it better for the Q65B or for a Q70B because probably there you will notice very, very good changes or at least that they are very worthwhile I don't know what you think about both televisions which one would you stay with and why please let me know in the comment box if this You liked the video, I invite you to please click the like button and also subscribe to my channel , if you haven't yet, you can purchase a channel membership to access extra benefits and also that way you would support me and that they activate the notification bell that they can know instantly every time I upload a new video, not being more, I say goodbye, see in the next one and I invite you so that you can judge the performance of the system sound from both TVs
