session season yesterday and you are in excellent spirits today and so are we here at our office in bunani 11 and um we are live from our office today and today what we are going to do is we are in live with our university swinburne university of technology and we'll be talking and discussing in detail about the university itself some of the scholarship opportunities that they are providing at the point for undergraduate and postgraduate students here in bangladesh but before we move into the main discussion let me introduce who we are who educates is so educated bangladesh is a leading it how far it is from the main city or where it's actually located and some of the key attraction in the area of uh swinburne yeah yeah absolutely so swinburne university's main campus is in hawthorne melbourne along with two other campuses in croydon and montana um we have two international campuses as well one in sarwak malaysia and uh also in vietnam now our main campus which is in hawthorne is one of the most accessible campuses in sharjah it's just about 10 minutes away from the central business district of melbourne and uh the glen ferry train station is right inside the campus you know that makes that that actually makes our our campus um easily reachable well connected uh from all parts of the city thank you for that introduction as well so if we go into the university itself so uh can you tell us something about the university during uh when it was established why it is known for why it is so popular among students as well and some of what's your you think um one of the key things in sweden university that the university itself is known for yes so swinburne university uh is an internationally ranked university featuring within the top um three percent universities um in the world now at swinburne um honestly students are the center of everything we do you know we we have been ranked at number 45 in qs stock 50 under 50. our cutting edge facilities like you know the advanced manufacturing and design center the atc building with a smart structures lab which is like worth 100 million dollars and and this is one of its kind in australia now apart from outstanding labs with you know state-of-the-art technology all our bachelor's degrees you know they have a work integrated learning program that offers you know around six to twelve months of paid work placements that i one i one thing that i personally really think is quite helpful for the student is the a paid work entity learning that you just mentioned that a lot of all the bachelor's programs at swinburne university has it really helps students to know about how the industry would look like where they're going to work right after they complete their studies and maybe um maybe you're they can even land into their dream job right after during the internship period and also right after they complete their studies so that's something that the students should note because that is a very important thing at this point of time when we are emphasizing not just on studies but at the same time getting some work experience while they are into universities so as you ment uh you mentioned that all the bachelor's programs have this work integrated learning and i believe there are a lot of bachelor's programs in uh swinburne university of technology and even the universities the name suggests it's a technology university so what are some of the um what programs are available and what as per your experience what programs are mostly popular among students here in bangladesh yeah so uh we offer a wide range of courses you know at undergraduate level as well as postgraduate level and one can choose actually from a wide range of subjects or disciplines starting from engineering dwight uh computer science um science social science media communication uh design and architecture health science i mean these are the various disciplines uh that we run at the university all our degrees are well accredited for example our business school you know is accredited by aacsb and uh only five percent of the world's business schools have this prestigious accreditation um from the association to advanced collegiate schools of business um swinburne with this accreditation has become a part of you know those privileged business schools around the world similarly we are accredited by engineers australia australian computer society um for our engineering and i.t courses respectively now uh coming to the question you know around the popular courses so i definitely like to you know mention some of our uh uh courses at ug and pg level which are particularly um very very popular with within uh bangladeshi students so uh let me kind of you know give you some uh some of the undergraduate courses like the bachelor's of engineering honors which is like a four years degree that we do at swinburne and we offer different majors or specializations like architectural civil biomedical electrical and electronic mechanical product design robotics and mechatronics and software these are some of the specializations the bachelors of computer science which is a three years option available with us again offering different majors like artificial intelligence cyber security data science um software development so on and so forth we also have within the business portfolio of programs you know the bachelor's of business um or the bachelor's of business uh information systems uh which have majors in business analytics or data analytics these courses are are very well received by uh students as well we've got a bachelor's of science uh if if students are interested in majoring in pure science subjects or like maps or biochemistry biotechnology chemistry physics this option is available as well uh finally the bachelors of health science you know with major in biomedical science nutrition um neuroscience uh these are some of the undergraduate courses uh which uh do well in bangladesh now the postgraduate level uh you know the popular courses would be an ng masters of engineering science where we are doing uh specializations in areas like advanced manufacturing civil electric and electronic mechanical you know network and telecommunications uh structural engineering and industry 4.0 uh these are two-year degrees available at the university we also have related to it we offer a masters of information technology professional computing this is also two years option where students can choose specializations like data analytics information systems mobile and cloud computing and software development besides this we we do have a you know a masters of cyber security or masters of data science masters of science network systems or maybe masters of science biotechnology these are some courses which do very well um courses related to business well maybe uh masters of business administration which is a pre-experienced mba so it doesn't really require a student to come with experience open for freshers this is popular with different specializations that one could be looking out for starting from accounting to finance to hr project management supply chain we we run all these specializations under this program we do offer uh you know uh you know an mba executive which is for people with experience so we are doing both and finally the masters of business information systems the students looking for specializations related to analytics you know they could perhaps apply for this course the mbis or business information systems so um apart from the ug and tg um we do have pathways as well you know mainly for students who who perhaps are not able to make it into the first year of bachelors because uh maybe their scores uh you know they missed out on meeting the minimum entry requirements so we do offer a pathway program in the form in the form of foundation or um diploma leading to bachelor's so yeah so that's in a nutshell you know the kind of programs that that we offer at the university okay that's a lot of programs that you need a lot in each specialization that you mentioned starting from engineering business social sciences healthcare so that's a lot even for undergraduate students they can have a they can look into wide range of engineering courses uh uh from under the portfolio under the engineering umbrella and also for the postgraduate program you have specially mentioned about the mba program which i really like to highlight because they did not a lot of premium programs require a bit of work experience for them to get into the program and of course as swinburne it's not required if just the normal mba the executive mba as you mentioned is required to have some experience that's that's really good um for uh students who are watching us you can keep a note of this so um if you have any further queries do feel free to knock us regarding that now moving on that um regarding as i was mentioning at the very beginning that swinburne has helped the international students during the pandemic time about the scholarships that they have provided a lot of scholarships to students right so given that we are now moving into the second semester of 2022 and what scholarships would be available for at swinburne university for international students at this point of time right so we have a wide range of scholarships uh available for international students at the moment um so some scholarships you know are awarded based on grades of your previous study meaning the better your grades the better are your chances of getting those higher scholarships and other scholarships are awarded based on your ability to meet the minimum entry requirement of selected courses yeah so we do this we have the swinburne international excellence scholarship for ut and for pg students which are up to 50 of the which is on the total duration um of the course so all our undergraduate and postgraduate students are automatically assessed for um this range of scholarship uh no separate application required as soon as we get an application we will um check the students eligibility for an offer and based on the grades that they have in their latest qualification uh we'll be able to uh you know uh a certain the level of scholarship that they will be um entitled to which is like minimum of 10 percent and up to uh 50 which is the highest that we are offering at the moment okay so um uh uh so so the minimum is from ten percent to fifty percent as you mentioned for uh september uh for the upcoming intent right so yeah so if we go inside this in yeah besides sorry uh i missed out on mentioning this as well so for our postgraduate students we have another category of scholarship which is called the george swinburne postgraduate scholarships and that is being offered to selected i.t engineering and business courses um so again that is a 30 scholarship on the total duration of the course the scholarship is again auto assessed no separate application required so if if any of these students are applying for any of our postgraduate it engineering or business courses they they will be as long as they are able to meet the minimum entry requirement and get an offer it should come with a 30 scholarship okay okay sure so if you now move into the specifically into the undergraduate scholarship we just got uh our hsa students uh year 12 students have got their result in this sunday and it wasn't 180 9 000 students have scored a gpa 5 this year so i'd like to congratulate the students who are watching us absolutely and for them for them and during this difficult time they have had the uh they have uh sticked they have actually have shown that they uh despite all these difficulties that we have faced the world has seen you have skipped uh still have been able to keep up your grades i would like to congratulate you all and now for those and also for some upcoming uh students for our own level students can you kindly specify the um academic requirements like based on what the scholarship or what how much scholarship can they get for uh for the undergraduate program for example somebody getting a gpa five and five in ssc in their grade ten and uh gpa five in the grade 12. so will they be
considered for the 50 percent scholarship that that's correct so if a student comes with a five gpa in their year 12 sec uh qualification then yes they will be eligible for um the scholarship which is up to 50 percent okay and similarly for a level students you know for a levels if they have to qualify for um a 50 scholarship we would be looking at around 14 points in their qualifications yeah yeah okay sure so uh if the students have any queries regarding the scholarship and um if you would like to because i just got the opportunity to discuss it here so as because we are mentioning the amount of scholarship that you would be receiving this as per your academic grades we actually have a one-on-one session i just wanted to mention it here with mr johnny on 7th of march from 10 from 4 p.m to 5 p.m bangladesh time would really highly encourage you to come and talk to miss the journey with your academics so that she can actually in detail assess your academic profile and let you know how much scholarships actually you can uh be able uh you can achieve from uh get from uh swinburne university of technology so it's an invitation to all undergraduate and postgraduate students who are but uh while we do so we'll move into our next uh question so as you were mentioning that johnny that um swinburne provides all students opportunities for this work integrated learning and those are all most of the you know core of all the bachelor's courses have that and you are meant you also mentioned that these are paid right so how does the swinburne help a student in getting this all everything so now that the border is open the students are traveling very good news right yeah um so if you could kindly let us know for example a student who is interested to travel to melbourne at um in this month what are some of the steps do they need to take and what what do in terms of their vaccine requirements or do do they need to have some any other form that they need to fill out as well which we can mention to our viewers as well yes yes so um on 15th of december the victorian government announced that you know fully vaccinated students can travel to australia without having to apply for a travel exemption uh that was the good news that we woke up with uh on that day so as the very first step these students um need to be fully vaccinated and have proof of vaccination recognized by the australian therapeutic goods uh administration yeah so that's there then an rtpcr test showing that the student is negative of covet 19 three days before the departure of the flight when the student arrives in australia the student is expected to be immediately quarantined at home or any other private accommodation and take an rtpcr test within the 24 hours of arrival now besides all this swinburne has actually a dedicated page you know for all information on returning to melbourne you know for students uh to understand further in in detail and i'm happy to share the link of
