My Perfect Family: Candle Dad

My Perfect Family: Candle Dad

Show Video

My. Morning routine will. Get the kids up and. Go. Back upstairs ten minutes later and get the kids up just, know. Little. Bacon sandwich. Yes. Okay. That's exciting. Then. Your whole day is always exciting isn't it. Nicky. Over here I, tend. To have to keep on so right you need to do this and then you need to do this and the newly produced I've kind of had to supervise that good morning we've seen a lot probably more than if you would with any other funny one I'm finished early well if just like tiny physical Tom Bergeron thing morning. Again. Emma. Emma. Did. You say good morning to me we Emma. Hi. Nikki ah. Morning. Emma, morning. Morning. Thank. You very much. Yes, it, was only 13 months between them was, really well planned. We. Had. To, wear four kids in, six. Years and three. Bakeries, all. At the same time during that period also we just bought. Our first house which, was a wreck and renovated. It from top to bottom while living in it so that's quite there was a busy sort of period. Right. Tell, us how we're doing for Time Warner, -. We've got 10. Minutes to, get, in the car and you. And I can go after work yeah, take, everybody's, helpful. The. Girls are actually really really different from each other so Niki is very vocal and talks all the time whereas. Emma. Doesn't, talk very much. We're. Just dealing with individuals, and, then the Down syndrome past sort of Emmons is very very secondary so there was good to be able to put that away really early in the face. We're. Ready to go and see your friends. You. Say that every day and then you love it when you go inside. Our. Commutes can take an hour each way in Auckland's, wonderful traffic firsts. We dropped Niki school and then mr an I head off to work. Niki's. Just turned 21 and she's, in her final year at some of all special school and they, can only stay in until their turn 21 and after. That it's, off to work if. They can find a job. Emma. And I we spend our work days at down lights candles it's a business we started just a few months ago. After. Emma, left schools I approached so, many employers to see if they'd give her a job and basically, got nowhere. So. I thought well how. Can self employed most of my life so why. Don't I just set up my own business and then she can work in that. We've. Always had candles at home and Emma really likes them so I thought let's, make candles, that'll. Be a piece of cake. How. Did you candles okay it's not piece of cake this apparently. Has got hidden depths and it's a lot more difficult than nerds and you would think. After. Only, a week, or so no, saint to these friends though I think. I need some advice about this and, my. Friends set up. Kennel, company that she lives just down the road I. Was. A little concerned about, the. Steps he was taking with the, business so I offered, him the opportunity to. Use. The, manufacturing.

Facility, At Illumina, so that it would save. Him, costs, at the beginning and to. Show, him a few tricks of the trade I. Was. Born in Canada. And I've lived in New Zealand for, 22, years I, fell, in love with New Zealand and I just had to stay I've, always, been, involved in something crafty, so making. Candles just seemed like a fun thing to do. Tony. Had a very small range a few fragrances, he did this market, and that. Led to 7:00. Sharp doing a story with Tim Wilson you probably don't know about candle, making as it happens a pretty, high temperature how warm. Is it it's. A secret. It's secretly, warm after, that we sold a candle, a minute for. Two days so we very quickly developed. A business, name a tagline. Ordered. New glassware developed. A logo all within, three. Or four days the. Name down lights oh definitely. Wanted to have a connection between Down, syndrome and the. Name of the company. Thank. You for, Jennifer. And Illumina, to basically, hand over her intellectual property so quickly to us four, or five years of worth of experience and really, really hard work which we haven't had to go through you, know your intentions. And goals with Emma were just so genuine, and I. Just really, wanted. You to succeed for, for. Emma so that she, would have something. In. Her life every, day and there. Was just no way I could have. Let. You flop. When. We first started everything was had to be supervised whereas now it's just a case of just point out that needs doing and, within. 30 seconds she's up and doing it and on, her own so once you learn how to do the jobs they're not set, the task walk. Away just right into it and it's really good. She's. Really, risen to the challenge of the fact of having to get up every, day and Travels. Work and spend the whole day at work but she's no she's really putting herself into a big-time. Yeah. You do that and. I'll get the wax. Since, we started doing this that prefer independence, has really blossomed it's been fantastic really, to see to see the changes in her. She. Feels, the treatment from what she's doing you know world through jobs and she'll. Be smiling away at the end of it when we've finished it you know she's obviously very proud, of herself and and, what we're doing. Her. Conference, just it's growing. And. What's. That. I. Think. Is is. Trophy. Trophy. World. When. They turn 21 that, is the biggest challenge because. Businesses. Often, don't take, on. People. With disabilities. We. Have a lot of opportunities, William to. Practice. The skills that they personally need for, when they finish school there, really flew unique step and, unfortunately. In a lot of cases that. Next step doesn't, happen and the. Disappearance that I talked to really struggle because, they would, like their. Child, to, continue going to work we. Need to do some stretches ready. To do so strict just kind of stand over here. Having. A job having, a role having a purpose, gives them a reason to get up in the morning. They'd, like to contribute to society what. Tony's, done is given em up an opportunity to, create, a life that she wants and I feel that will be the same for Nikki as well. Do. You know where that was what country was that hey it wasn't spying it was in France Paris, yeah, okay. Remember, going to Spain. Yeah. Food, was fantastic. What's. The next picture press about. Four. And a half years ago I sold the cafe that we had in Marathi and. We. Traveled. I'd. Been working seven. Days a week for 25-30, years so we decided that we were travel. And. So. We went to Europe Spain, and France a lot, of time in the UK to, eat do, you like it there no, no, hey, I was, really amazed you know that well I don't know why should be amazing because nothing they do amazes me anymore here they.

Hey. I'm travelling. Like, a duck to water. Okay. You. Love pictures of yourself. Who's. That girl. It's. Emma you're looking gorgeous there ever there's. Been Harrison Hey it was just a little boy he's, taller than me now first. In line Harrison, so he's our oldest seventeen, months later Claudia came along and, then Emma, was born undiagnosed. But was diagnosed at birth with Down syndrome. Which. At, the time was, really devastating, it wasn't something we'd considered. All. Those questions why me, what have I done to my family. All. The destructive Christians. That you do see yourself like what if what. If I just stayed with two I should have just stayed with two and then had. The weirdest dream and it was my grandmother saying it's good, okay and I woke up in the morning feeling like our. Weight would have been lifted off my shoulders that was quite bizarre I could see black-and-white television. Documentaries. Pictures, in my head of. Institutionalized. People. So, devastating. Really and it's like oh god that's. What we've got to look forward to Carolyn. Was the receptionist, at. A business where I went looking for a job and. Was. Very pleased to meet the receptionist. Our. Decision about having another, child after, Emma I think a lot of our friends probably cut the thought oh really. He want to have more kids the, initial thought was I let's. Have another baby when that will sort of push, Emma along from behind and, once. You've got three kids he lost anyway so might. As well have four will, have 40 doesn't make any difference you're. So immersed. In family. Nicky, was born 13. Months after Emma and, lo, and behold then she was born with Down syndrome as, well. We. Was even, more shocked than we were the first time around and. The. First the initial thought was slow it's. Just just disaster. The. Way it's actually turned out is completely the opposite, if Nicky had been born as, an average person she. Probably would have overtaken Emma and. Emma. Would have been left as the. One child sort of on her own in a way they'd, get on like a house on fire so it's fantastic they're gonna have a friend for, life I wouldn't, be without change. A thing if I had my time over my. Head I wish Theory come down and say I could change it all for you I just say no go away really. They're. Just amazing, kids. Yeah. So Carolyn. Was diagnosed, with breast cancer in. 2007. Basically. The option was a mastectomy and Karen said right booked me and tomorrow we're. Gonna do something about this, she. Had six months of chemo it, was pronounced. Fit and well there she'd she'd beaten it. Unfortunately. Cancer. Decided, it was gonna make a return visit. To Carolyn. Only a few years later. And. Then shoo so she was read I ignite again with her even. More serious. Cancer in 2010. And, this. This. Time they told us it was terminal, can you cut their place. After. She passed away I decided that her positive, attitude was something which I have to. Mimic. To start off but because of doesn't say it wasn't a particularly positive person, at the time. And. I, figured, that I. Live. By the mantra of attitude. Positive, which. Is something I actually ended. Up having it tattooed on my chest so that every morning when I woke up I could look at that and go, that's. How you're gonna be today and. You've only gonna do it for a day and. Then the next day you've only got to do it for another day and eventually. You keep on trying. To live like that and try to live like that and eventually you do and you actually start, becoming. That, way. I. Trust, you Nikki I. Think. The issues for, me at that time were practical, issues and, I was still running a business which, was a cafe, at the time seven, days a week starting. At 7 a.m. finishing, at 5 p.m. and had about 70 hours a week and look. After four kids at the same time so. Claudia, my, oldest, daughter was due. To go to university, at a particular point and I suggested, to her that maybe she delays. The.

University, For a year and she helped. Me look after Nikki and we. Talked about it and decided that's I would, take, him/her Nikki on kind. Of doing the school runs in the morning you know waking up getting. Them ready driving them to school and if. They, won't need it after, school activities, I would be in charge of that from. Her and Nikki it was great because it gave him. Someone. To focus on who was you, know consistent, every day drop in med school they had a routine that they could stick to it, was really good just to spend a lot of time with my sisters I got, to spend a lot of time with my dad and I did have to grow up a little bit you know I was 17, fresh. Out of school going, from hanging with my friends and doing school or day to being essentially. A full-time not, a parent but a caregiver, so, it did make me grow up a little bit faster than maybe I needed to if, that, wasn't the situation but I think ultimately I've, turned out a better person for it during, that period of time where she gave me that grace period I, reorganized. My. Business and. Took. On more stuff and sort, of extracted, myself from, the business so I didn't have to be there the whole time which, meant I couldn't step in and actually take. A more. Active role and being. With the girls or looking after the girls and. It's continued. From there in that way. We're. Eastridge shopping center in Mission. Bay so, we've got a Facebook event happening, so that people know we're here and, often. When we do these events that we get lots of people attempt, to see us you come to meet Emma. It's. Just got better, and better winners to be so outgoing and, so confident. In, herself, and, running. Around smiling and enjoying herself. Thank. You thanks, to your support thank you, she's. Stepped. Up as far as meeting, strangers. To. See her handle. All, these different environments, and, different experiences. And, the. Shyness is going slowly. I, think. I mentioned before you know they're having two. Kids went down to the same family so as you can see they got I think it on like a house on fire and, this. Is. Demonstrated. Constantly. I. Think. People. Respect. The fact that we're trying to do something for ourselves instead, of expecting. Other people to help us so no. It's it's always a great response. It's. About. 1450. Follows. Social. Medias it's. Gone, crazy it makes us feel what, we're doing is something, really worthwhile because so many people are coming. On board and telling, us that I think, I'm fortunate in that that's. Another that's another. Like. So. You're wearing all your plugs. Where. Are you going. Huh. Just. Somewhere you wanna go traveling again a journal. I'm. Gonna, go make some toast. The. Amount of exposure that we've had has been phenomenal, and. Disney. Digital network contacted. Us and said look we want to do an article on our digital. Network and got a fantastic response off that and then, there was a another company in the States who obviously. Had. Connections with Disney somehow or another it's a video production company called, ever hats and, they. In turn came to us and said we, love what you're doing them very really inspired by it and we want to make a promotional. Video so. Ever, hands came, to us and said after they finished. The video and said we've got a connection, with a very. Famous person George Takei, of Star, Trek fame turns. Out that he's got 10 million followers and the.

Bigger It gets the. Better it gets because, we. Will then have to step up production and then, we can start employing other people so the whole idea really is as we. Go further is, to create, a factory. Situation and get a much bigger so. That we can employ other people with dancer. The. Girls again. Hello. There. So. We're at the the Franklin Tap. House in bitch, lands which is our local pub. We. Only, come in twice a week and, because. Some now of course the support. And the following will get the downlights now we're getting people coming up to us and chatting to us when we're in the pub as well which is great that's really into it there. Was a really, big wall that's game on and we came down for that and we, met a couple of bikers who, were, so impressed, with the way that the girls were enjoying. The whole thing and they knew about our story as well so they knew what we were doing and. They were like. Oh. Blast t-shirts and then about a week later I, got a phone call from one of the guys come. And meet us in the pub this afternoon we've got those t-shirts for the girls, so. This, has been another outpouring, of generosity and, the. Way that people have been his support that's brilliant, they're. Just so, full of love like. They're just there to have. Fun and you know make, the most of their time they're just so open and friendly and. Sometimes. Too friendly you know when you go out and they just want to talk to everyone and I'm kind, of more reserved so I like to stay back a bit but they just, you know they love hugs they love laughing, a, couple. Years ago I, decided, every. Nikki's favorite band were in town so, we decided last minute that I would take them there and we, had a great time but I remember talking to this woman who was next to me and she, could obviously recognize, amore and Ikki both had Down syndrome and, so, she started asking me questions and I told her that you, know they're my sisters and the amount of praise that I got from her I found really unusual because she was saying you know you're an incredible sister. How amazing that you're doing this for them but, in my mind I was kind of taken aback a little bit because obviously you. Know did my sisters and I, don't really. Think that their depth that different, from other, people so it's kind of the same as if they didn't have Down syndrome as taking my sisters out I. Shouldn't. Have to stay home just because they have special needs you know they can go, out and have fun and like I probably didn't even need to be there they. Won't find it on their own dancing, and singing at a great time. Kind. Of a reality, check I suppose that you know they are different but, that's just who they are I. Hope. That they can be more. Independent. It. Big, for them to have dreams. And be able to follow those dreams and, actually, have something that they want to do instead of us you, know going cool. It's an idea let's go through with that and then they have a great time anyway but I'd love for them to think. Of stuff on their own to be like this is what I want to do. I. Hope. That they can have a future. Which is not dependent on me and that's really big.

Part Of what this is all about of trying to get, them on that path. I suppose. Practically, speaking that, I think they're gonna need some sort of help they're gonna need some sort of supervision, or just. A nudge here and there but then they've keep on surprising me as well as to how bloody, clever they are. If. Things keep moving as fast as they have in the last few months then. Yeah I think maybe they could be living on their own and just to maybe have someone could just come in and check on them occasionally make sure things okay. Whatever. Their independence, level is I want to get them up as. Far as they possibly can up that ladder I. Don't. Think I've sacrificed anything, I. Think. I've, just done, what. All parents do and I, mean okay you can call it sacrifice but it's not sacrifice, we choose but. How is that a sacrifice if you've chosen to do what you want to do just, not a sacrifice. Those. Started thinking more about the future then what, happens to my youngest tickets, as I, get older and as they get older I. Thought. Is that to sit. Down and write. Down some of my thoughts about, my. Family, the. Children, their. Lives and. Maybe. Their hopes and dreams and, my hopes and dreams for them. All. I just, want to say that I'm very very, lucky man I was. Blessed with the love and the company of a wonderful woman that. Was lucky enough to spend 25. Years with her I know, our greatest achievements, was all of you every. Day I'm. Really. Proud to be your dad. Every. Day I love. You more. Every. Day I worry for you I don't I know I shouldn't, you're, all gonna do great things every. Day I feel. Lucky, to have you in my life. Edda. 30 seconds in and I already adore this family! "... 10 minutes later I go back upstairs to wake up the kids..."

What a beautiful family. I love to see positive things and people.

Amazing inspirational story & I love it when us disabled community are living our dreams & for filling our lives

What an amazing amazing strong man and what lovely sweet girls.

Amazing story ❤️❤️

My husband is like this with our two girls sooo lucky with their dad

the scene at the end at the table where Emma and Nicki just start hugging each other is too much -, what a lovely story and family

What an amazing Dad.

I wish i could do something for my oldest daughter Alexis. She has asperger syndrome and want to do voice acting for cartoons. She is very self conscious and thinks because of her disability the producers won't give her a chance because she has issues with understanding or being comfortable with things. I deal with extreme anxiety and an so does my 17 year old and she wants to deal with make-up art like for movies maybe even learn how to do the camera. I think my kids will never get as far as they could because of me being so scared to do things. I am scared to push them or drive place to get them places that could be good for them. I am lucky i have even been able to get us all in taekwondo. I will be a blackblet in November if i pass. I think only because they are my crutch as much as i am theirs. i feel bad about that. Before my 12 years in the military i wasn't so scared to do things alone but just everything seems so hard now. I alwasy make excuses why we couldn't go somewhere as much as i really wanted to go. theoretically I would love to have my own business dealing with animals. I want an animal education center/ rescue zoo. I want people with disabilities are ex-military to have an area where they can go in a classroom relaxed setting away from crows and kids after school as well to get hands on. For me my fears seem to out way my dreams. Hope we can come together like u have with your girls.

I wish you the very best of luck! Life is about developing yourself, so take each day as progress!

Nicki and Emma are absolutely adorable. ❤ I'm so sorry for your loss Tony. Thank you so much for sharing your heartwarming story.

Adopt me, please!

May God Bless Ur Family and all ur dreams come true

what an amazing dad

It's weird being a Canadian and listening to that woman's accent because it's like 90% mine 90% kiwi. Lol.

It almost sounds Scottish hahaha

right?? i couldnt figure out where she was from before she said

Wow Claudia looks exactly like her mom

Wonderful family. Thanks for sharing

Wonderful family! The sky is the limit girls

I hope one day we all people around the world can live as happy as all down people live!! :D

Such encouraging stay positive much love

❤️ wonderful man...

Such a amazing and wonderful dad. This whole family is just amazing.

Yo quiero un papá así es lindo

Giving bacon to people who are already predisposed to obesity and heart problems is really insane. The young women are more overweight than people with Down’s syndrome of their generation usually are, as families generally have a better understanding of it these days. But good luck to them all, including but not limited to having a healthier diet.

So Lovely ❤

This dad is amazing ❤️

Great family

This exact story happened to my uncle! Great family!

Tony, you are a wonderful Father, husband and man! I love your wife’s name (it’s my name as well ☺️) great things are going to happen!☺️

the lives we live

Amazing beautiful family touched my heart

What sweet young ladies! I don’t think I could have came out of the depression this would have caused me. Thank you for showing this courageous family.

amazingly inspiring ❤️

What an amazing man. And handsome

Don't have the words to describe how proud I am of this man. He is tackling life head on every day.. and hes doing a great job. I am very sorry for the loss of his wife and children's mother.. rest in peace.

an amazing family xxx

I enjoyed your story. Amazing that you created a business to employ your daughter.

What a wonderful family, you guys are amazing.

This family is beautiful as is the candle lady that helped him. I’m hoping they get together at the end but then I remember this isn’t a romcom, just a beautiful story that has sad parts and happy parts, there are multiple hero’s. I want to meet them, come to Los Angeles.

this makes me wanna fly there (i live in germany) just to go into the mall and buy a candle to meet them in person.

You sir have an amazing family, Emma and Nikki are beautiful! Sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing.

Wow,congratulations

Such an amazing family

Amazing! I want to meet him! : )

Lovely girls. I wish this guy was my dad!

He's so proud you can tell. Hes like I'm no longer shocked at how well they do cause they are just achievers. He worded it weird but hes great. So strong.

I love the lady that taught them all about candles. So kind. Most ppl would be to afraid to lose money. I love this video.

I really enjoy this video. It shows that even thghgh you have a disability, you can still be a possitive impact in the world and lives of others. Way to go Tony!!!

Sorry. Dictation messed up. I meant that I love the fact that even though the girls have down syndrome, they inspire others to do the best they can, despite their current situation.

1 person who disliked has no life, only hatred in their heart.

Wow, I never heard of a family having two kids with Down syndrome without them being twins. I‘m wondering what’s the reason for this. But the girls are amazing and I have so much respect for their dad.

So beautiful!!!

Such a loving dad, keep what your doing best, been the best dad for your beutifull loving daughters ❤❤

if I were younger I would beg you to allow me the honour of working for your company.

So lovely. The ending made me cry!

Amazing dad ❤️

good job  emma

I heard something that Down Syndrome is the most loving people .. they are happy , loving , cheerful .... Look at his daughters ... So lovely

Lovely family. X

We have 2 autistic boys, both teenagers just got some great ideas. Great dad!

Such beautiful girls. An amazing family... their Mum would be so proud.

Beautiful

When Emma walks up to her Dad for hugs and kisses is the sweetest thing ever

What an Amazing beautiful Family ❤️

Amazing ❤

Just so very much love, tenderness, excitement, happiness & togetherness. Seems to be able to overcome any of life's unexpected nasty surprises. I have big respect for a man who knows how to be a true dad, a dad who makes things happen rather than sit back & wait for handouts.

All the best for you sweetheart

I know right!!!! You would think that would have already happened!

This makes me really happy. As someone who has a disability (Autism) and is young like Emma and Nicki (I'm 21 like Nicki), this is such a good thing for them. Schedules and consistency are essential but also they are learning to make their own income and have their own freedoms which is priceless!! When you are told by doctors and other people the things you can't do it feels so good to do things like working, starting a business, being creative, and traveling.

Yes yes yes!!!

Wow what an amazing family!! I’ve just sat an watched your program an your girls have melted my heart

I'm a mum of six my youngest has downs syndrome this made me cry happy tears . I'm so happy i saw this.

Awe claudia looks just like her mother .they are so beautiful an such a beautiful family as wellhes done and is still doing every thing he can to take care of his children thats so awesome ...a great dad it makes me miss mine so much more

Just beyond sweet, and amazing. Greatest father

A video which brings more light to the world .What a terrific family *

Lovely relationships.

Ilove this Dad! He put all his eggs in one basket so that his daughter could have a job because nobody would hire her. He knew how important it was for his children to feel like they belong in society. To start a candle company it's hard that lady teaching him how to do it so that he can better the lives of his daughters is just amazing! His daughters seem so happy! He is truly an amazing dad and he has two amazing girls and the lady that taught them is an amazing friend! How great this story is!!! Goin on to get DL candles after I'm finished watching this!

Loved your documentary about your family, and your first daughter was right, everybody is different.

Amazing father

All this Dad has gone through and he is still so joyful and loving....takes great care of his family and enjoys what God has given him! Amazing....instead of just putting his daughter in an institute or saying she has a disability she can’t do anything like a lot of people think he pushes his daughters to be the best they can and to be able to have something they can call their own! ❤️

What a beautiful story. Thanks for sharing!

Where can we buy these candles?? I'd like to buy a bunch just to support them! What a beautiful family ❤️

It's weird being a Canadian and listening to that woman's accent because it's like 90% mine 10% kiwi. Lol.

What a joy to watch! Wouldn't the world be an amazing place if every child had a father like Tony? In his eyes, I can see God.

Wow, what an amazing family those girls are immensely beautiful xx

Awesome family x

Wow, great story

Well done guys you're amazing. What a brilliant idea. Good luck for the future with the business. XXXX

This is wonderful. Good on them

I love this!

Such a beautiful story! It is a shame that some people think Down Syndrome is a terrible disability; I hope that stories like this one will raise awareness of the potential of a full life for someone with Down Syndrome. These girls are so loving and sweet, characteristics I have seen in others with DS. How much different would this world be if there were more people just like them and their dad and siblings. God bless you, Tony Sykes, you are an amazing dad.

The whole family is adorable ❤️

So ur telling me that downlights is a good name not because u dim the lights for a candle night.. But because.. Like ... The

The way she clapped at the begining of the video is what gives it away that she is

Full respect to this amazing man.

I swear everyone I've met with Down Syndrome have always been so loving. Its like they have more love in them than the usual human that it pushes out some of the things that "normal" humans take for granted. They are not DIS abled...they are DIFFERENTLY abled.

A remarkable person. Talk about manning up! He's beautifully courageous-- yet very, very tender. His eyes say it all!

Isn't he, though!!

Me, too!

She's beautiful.

Nothing but beautiful

What an amazing inspiration story I have aspbugers syndrome and love this story thank you for sharing this

Such a sweet story...lovely family

poor guy , i know love is a powerful thing but he has a tough road , they are so down , they will never be able to live alone , what a worry , prayers for them all

I wish my dad could be half as nice as this man..

That’s beautiful!

what an amazing dad and family the girls are beautiful so sorry that there mum past but the dad is doing such a great job .....

What a beautiful but heartbreaking story. I am so sad he lost his wife!!!! What a beautiful family!!!!!

This is a real father and a amazing man. Only such men should be allowed to have kids. My father was never there for my special needs brother. He just cut all contacts and doesn't care how my little brother is doing. Never showed any sympathy or empathy nor interest.

Amazing Dad - Amazing man - his girls are wonderful...so loved. What a strong positive Dad - love from Scotland.

This restores my faith in humanity Amazing friend. . This dad is really a dad and a fabulous person who deserves all happiness in the world. Girls are cute. Loved it.

Thank you for sharing....sorry you lost your love....but so fortunate to have 4 great children...there going to do well because they have each other...and you...I know how hard it is to raise a child who's different. .my x was not a good parent he wanted a child like himself...we had a son who has full aspergers and it has been a great challenge and test of character and many hardships, loss of friends and family. ..now in my older age I too worry about what will happen to my son who's stuck in a time warp..but is a very big 40 yr old...no one wants to take him on when I'm gone ..unless. there's money involved..lol..which there isn't. Your so lucky to have these loving wonderful children in your life...I know that you no they have made you a better person and a happy person....thanks for sharing your family with others , they need to see that not everyone is the same but we're all human and we all deserve love and a chance...

Kuddos dad beautiful family, my children are special needs as well and I'm raising them all alone by myself no help it assistance so I know how it feels, we seen all 3 daughters and would be nice to see the son too.

+Mrs. B. Lol

+Monica Kraut brilliant! I have a hole in my brain, does that count as an excuse for being an airhead?

You're welcome. Attitudelive.com seems more like a website. I was able to find the company by Googling downlights candles and it came right up.

+Monica Kraut hey thanks so much!

Try going to Attitudelive.com.

Star, what a great name! A way to meet new people would be to introduce yourself. "Hi, my name is Star. What's your name? ". Most likely they will start asking questions on how you got your name. There you've started a conversation.

I'm so sorry your family has hurt you☹ that's really sad

The lady is a bllsd soul

What a wonderful family

Sweet girls with a great dad.

Just beautiful. Thankyou ❤️❣️

I just shared THIS VIDEO ABOUT THIS AMAZINGLY AWESOME FAMILY~ I was SO TOUCHED by their story AND I WILL BE CHECKING OUT THEIR WEBSITE AND BUYING THEIR CANDLES if shipping to Florida isn't too expensive! Just a Lovely, Sweet And Loving Family DOING WHAT FAMILIES SHOULD, but too often don't, DO.

They all talk like they never heard about early alzheimer in ZD people.

Omg, I'm in love with this Dad! So inspiring, these girls are sent from God, & their sister has a beautiful spirit too:). How I would love to meet them all!

It’s amazing what a simple job can do for a person

their are apartments and not group homes where maybe wjem the girls get older can move into there is staff to assist depending on their needs and dependence please make them as independent as possible and they will thrive

To the big sister, not all sisters are like you. You are a wonderful big sister and a wonderful child to your dad.

Love this family❤❤❤

What a beautiful family and a wonderful Father. I hope that the man I find to marry is half the man and loves me half as much as this guy clearly is and clearly loves his late wife.

This is an amazing family. I am so sorry for their loss. I wish them all the good in the world; that all their wishes will be fullfilled :) By their example you can see that a positive attitude attracts positive outcomes.

Aren't their "special-need companies" in NewZealand? Here in Austria we have different companies which only hire disabled people. The for example to catering or crafts :)

Amazing story and amazing family. I love what the dad said about assuming more positive attitude.

Such a great dad. Wonderful kids. I hope he has time for Himself.

What an incredibly intelligent and awsome dad. God knew where to send these two girls, to the perfect father. How difficult it must be for him, though, to be without his dear wife and the mother for her children.

What a beautiful story❤️ I wish Carolyn was there to see what they have achieved

Because the candles are made by someone with downs syndrome

Do you have an outlet in Australia ?

N

My two first cousins (sisters) have Down syndrome and they are each other’s best friends. Initially it was rlly scary but now it’s so good that they have each other. They’re 19 and 18 now

Where is their brother?

This man is a saint! GOD bless him!

Amazing!

What a wonderful Dad and I love your girls and your family is extra special.

I would be on the next flight out from the US to help...This is just such a beautiful story and courageous father. I'm soon to be 45 and need a direction (purpose) in life. I was never able to have children, and when I fell ill 4 years ago I pretty much gave up on life. What an AMAZING selfless man, father and hero to his children! I sure wish I could find a man with a heart like him; )

I like this story line. Thank you.

I’m not some anti choice fanatic who thinks all fetus’s should be born, no matter what, but I really respect how much of a duty this dad feels to make his kids self sufficient. His whole life revolves around them. I recognize that in my own dad as well. Everyone deserves a father like that, who would do genuinely anything for his kids.

Beautiful family!

Such an inspirational video!! Special love to this family!!

Beautiful!

When they held hands in the car I cried

What a beautiful family! And Dad's brilliant idea for a business that Emma and Nicki will have an income for life from is amazing. And the fact that they will hire workers with disabilities is awesome.

Like you r video

Dad. You are beautiful. You are amazing. I had a baby sister with down syndrome who passed away recently. I miss her dearly. Most people do not know what a true blessing it is to have someone with down syndrome in their life. They are so full of innocence and love. You have my love and respect!

Amazing Dad and such lovely ladies, Emma and Nikki! Wish all the best for their family. ❤❤❤

what a refreshing story of real family love...

Your down kids are the ones who bring you happiness and good fortune. This is the blessing in disguise.

My great aunt has down syndrome, she worked almost her whole life and was always super on top of it. I think her longest jobs were at grocery store, and in a hotel as a housekeeper. She even swam in the special Olympics back in the 80's and had an amazing perm lmao. She's retired now but she goes to art therapy a few times a week and makes really cool paintings and collages, she has a great eye for color. She even had a girlfriend named Grace who also had down syndrome. She doesn't judge, just loves people. I'm really glad she's lived around people that gave her guidance and freedom. She's in her 60's now and getting dementia so she doesn't really know who I am anymore but I'm not gonna forget my childhood with her, she's a sweetheart.

He deserves the best dad of New Zealand to me he's great with those girls & they r wonderful themselves a great big happy family & so sorry for the loss of their mother & wife .I'm sure she watches over them everyday .

He should get “Father of the year”! So sorry for the loss of their wife and mom!

What a wonderful family! I hope you take time for yourself, time goes so fast. Be happy

Why is this called 'Candle Dad'? Anyone else wondering??

Him and the girls make candles...?

Sorry about your loss. Love your family and beautiful connection. Only the best to you all♥️

Well done . Your story was one of strength.

Absolutely beautiful..!

greatest dad in the world!!!

The world would be a better place if we all had down syndrome

Nothing like a man with real balls. Yeah, so I've got a thing for those super-hero types. Even if they don't don Spandex. And kudos to the lovely eldest daughter, a truly honorable woman.

I watched this story on TV about two weeks ago and for me this was inspirational to watch the girls went to Somerville special school where my son is currently at in edge water college it doesn't matter if u have down syndrome or some other form of special needs with help u can do whatever u set ur mind too these girls lost there mum to cancer so for there sister to help there dad take care of the girls was a no brainer you do anything for family

This entire family is love and motivation personified

А где супруга?

What a lovely man,,his 2 daughter s are wonderful

right attitude.

So wonderful. Loved watching this. Xo

I can't find your Facebook page. How can I support your business?

An amazingly beautiful family...a wonderful dad who loves his girls so much..giving them support and an ability to be a part of the wider world...he has the patience and a sense of giving to the greater community who are recipients of his compassion.

Wonderful !

Who's cutting onions?!

Having worked with mental health and learning disabilities I can honestly say that time was a rewarding time, real emotion real people, I think society has issues! and can learn so much about love/kindness/empathy from the so called special needs, for they are the truly enlightened. Great dad and dam you have had hard times, hope your family's journey has luck and love always x

Heart to heart video....fascinating....beautiful...positive. GOD BLESS YOU all with His perfect Peace and Love.

Perfect family. Far from perfect bacon:(

Kudos to this amazing and loving father. Your wife would be so proud. Your kids are beautiful.

Great idea. He needs to put these girls on a diet, both, especially Emma. They don't need that extra weight. These girls need something to allow them to survive after he moves on. Not easy with DS kids, but with patience, love and fortitude, may be doable, as long as there is someone that will run the business. They may manage the work, but could not handle business. Tricky but so far, he has done a fantastic job.

Awesome dad!! Awesome big sister too!! Great job family!!

You are a amazing and awesome dad what you do with your family it is amazing that your girls work with you we need mall dads like you in the world i am sorry that you and your kids lost a amazing wife and mother I love candles like that they are so awesome

A wonderful story!

EMMA you are doing Great as a Business Woman:) !!!

Thank you sharing your experience. Something similar happened to me. When my close friend died, I was not a particularly positive person myself, but after pondering over his life example, and he was a very positive person, my personality started to change, I took on his attitude on life. I thought, it is what he'd like me to be :)

God Bless You and your beautiful Children... You Got This DAD!!!:) Your Awesome!!! From USA:)

Make me so much cry and proud of the daddy who take care and support his beautiful twin daughters D. S ❤️

What an amazing family! This man deserves so much respect. Wishing them all the best for the future. Love and admiration from California.

God bless you all who help and do such good work for the disabled.

I watched the Attitude video of your story and you now have 4588 followers! :)

Beautiful Family

Best scene: that warm genuine hug between the girls on the bench on a windy day,

Every child would be blessed with a great dad like this guy

Greatest daddy in the world , love this video , God bless you perfect familly

Although my heart hurts for the painful struggles this family has faced ,I also smile seeing how inspiring they are as a whole. Each a very important piece to make the whole family. Each precious, each important and the love that brings each through. Truly an amazing family. I'm sitting here smiling, tears running down my face watching these young ladies do such an amazing job at work and school. It's touching seeing how the father is doing so much to set both ladies up with a future, a self purpose that help them feel good about themselves. This has been a feel good video that has helped start my own day with a calm sense of thankfulness, endless possibilities and reminding myself of so many blessings I have.

Congratulations Emma, sending love and abundance to you.

Love love love this family. It was a beautiful blessing for me to watch this. This is what True Love looks like, from each family member. This helps remind me to be better for my children. Thank for your examples. May your family continue to be blessed, best wishes to you all.

These videos are very important to me. I have a brother with learning disabilities and I know how much a parent depends on the other siblings in these cases. Helping my brother grow has been my privilege. I'm honoured to be able to help him because he's so talented with his hands and I've seen him pick up skills without even being able to read so I believe he's a superhuman. Thank you for giving me the inspiration to keep going. And for giving so many others both the inspiration and the incentive to keep trying. ❤️

Beautiful young ladies love and blessings to you Emma and Nicki

This is not the stories of businesses. It's communities and families. ❤️

"This is what you call unconditional love

Yes he is an amazing Dad for sure , but not to be cruel but after 1 child with Downs syndrome especially when its the third child for the mom , might indicate that she has reached an age where she should consider not having more kids and then to proceed to have a fourth child which also has Downs clenches the fact that she was just too old to be having these last two ..its a little bit irresponsible in my opinion ...

I love the relationship you have with your daughters, they love you so much! You are a sweet man, God bless you and the girls! D

ı very tear flood ..... ı love you down syndrome - dad very just me dear from turkısh

Wunderschöne Geschichte. Seid gesegnet

They are so sweet, i work with the same population her in the US. I praise God for the parent not giving up on them.

What a fab idea, more folks should consider doing stuff like this. Having worked in care I know how important it is to keep busy and have what all of us equally want , a reason to get up in the morning and feel needed .

Just found this!!! Tony, you're an absolutely amazing Dad. Your wife must be looking from heaven and being so proud of how the man she married is taking care of their children. Beautiful family!

Good going, Dad! What a beautiful family!

What a gorgeous family Respect to the dad

Man, my eyes got really watery at the end of this video.

Awesome Job ,Awesome Dad! Beautiful story.... Wish it was longer....

Amazing dad! I really want to work with people with special needs! I had a neighbor with a daughter with special needs, I was her babysitter. I had to go back to school and so she had to find someone else. It didn't work out well at all! I ended up doing home school so I could continue watching her, she just took to me. To this day she stays with me once or twice a week and is family!! I just adore her.

This was easily the most positive and inspiration thing I have seen in a LONG time. Thank you for the reminder that we have a choice to be positive or negative...and I am going to choose to be positive! Tony Sykes...you are a an amazing Dad! Good on you!!!!

I love the woman who helped them with the candle business! What a kind soul! And what an amazing dad! What an amazing family! Much love to the staff and teachers at the special school! ❤️

The girl looks like twin with very different personalities lol

Beautiful. Just simply that. Beautiful.

Emma is so chill and Nicki is so outgoing, both beautiful. I hope their business makes lots of money for the girls. Lovely dad, sister, and candle lady - and community. We’re all in this together and they all get it. God bless them all.

There is so much love in this story,I cried thank you for being such a great dad!

So heart warming to watch. Thank you for the upload. What an amazing dad!! Tony, I am sure your lovely wife is looking down on you all with pride and love.

What a wonderful, loving family. So sad the wife/mother is no longer with them to see how great Dad & girls are doing, but I'm sure she's smiling down from Heaven. All families should be this tight.

What a beautiful family.

So cool that the father made his own business to work with his beautiful daughter

Is he gonna fall in love with the candle lady or what??

This made me cry I wish if I had a 1/4 of this man as a father you are a hero amazing dad of the century some of the father like mine can't even be around or be there as a father forget helping with disability even with no disability he was never being there and he never felt bad at all

אני נרגשת עד עומק נשמתי מסרטון, ישר כוח , האבא והאחות הגדולה של הבנות כל הכבוד.

great girls but thought there were 4 children not a single mention of the other child good luck with the candles

We as parents do what we have to because we have to. My son James has autism I would never have chosen this but I love my boy he is amazing and now I can say I am proud to be his mama.

Such a beautiful family this dad is amazing!!!!

Why didn't his wife do genetic testing after getting pregnant again after having a child with Downs'.

What a loving father.

Do people from the UK typically eat bacon undercooked like that?

May the Lord bless you and your family.

You’re an incredible man and father! I love what you’re doing. You’re daughters are so sweet! Can we order these candles in America?

You are a very good father, and the girls are lucky to have you. And, yes, you are lucky to have them, too. Meant to be. Love your tattoo, and while I’m too old to get tats, I need to remind myself when I wake up to keep a positive attitude also. Thanks!

Great Dad!

The love in this family is amazing

Absolutely, the ideal situation for such a family. Such a terrific father. An ideal father! I wish more people knew first hand what a blessing it is to be given children with that syndrome. They are all sweethearts.

You are a beautiful dad, and your other daughter is amazing we can all take a leaf out of your book on how you want so much to help your daughters more independent, great family love

You are all amazing.

What a truly amazing family. All of them, so full of love. They will be in my prayers for ever. Those parents surly did a beautiful job with their oldest daughter...she is so kind, and so unselfish just like them. I am so sorry for the loss of Tony's wonderful wife, and the children's mom. But they have good lives, and will someday be all together again, in Heaven. Amen.

Daddy's Love, Daddy's girls❣

A special family has lived with me the last twenty years. They’ve taught me so much. This video has been such a highlight. Sir, you are truly an encourager!

amazing family!!!

These two beautiful girls were brought into the world and given to the most wonderful family. The girls are a gift as well as their family. They were put together for a reason. To show what love really is.....

I worked with Developmental Disabled Adults as a Job Trainer for 15 years. I started because I knew the challenges they had in life because I grew up with an Uncle that had Downs Syndrome. It takes a lot of Patience and he is doing a great job. Hooray for him to include his girls in on his travel.

What a beautiful family , work mate , father , sisters

I love this story. This dad and the lady who helped the dad with this candle company is "AWESOME". God Bless this family.

What an amazing beautiful family xx

Beautiful and strong reaction to a tough reality..thank you for sharing. Perfect example of how parents are to be for their children. Additionally, this should be a pause for those who think they're all that and more, just because they think they have a child... anything can happen when a woman becomes pregnant..and a real parent always rise to the challenge - for their child/ren, not pass them on to a facility or to others.

Wow, this is so beautiful. He is such a strong and loving man, when he asked to cut I cried

God Bless you Tony

Bless this man....and best of luck to him and his children.

What a great dad and man ...I salute you

This dad is amazing

Inspiring family, things got tough and you as a family got going. Thanks for posting!

Precious example of Fatherhood...

Wonderful father.

Waww hello hello such an amazing charismatic Dad :)

He is real hero.... Great man.... Grand salute

What an amazing father! ✨ The girls are so sweet! The candle lady is a great example of what we should do. It’s not about the money or always seeing everyone else as a competitor, but instead reach out and extend a hand. May God bless them all

What a beautiful man , in every sense of the word. Thank you for your story

Love the dad and his humor ! :D

Beautiful family. ❤️

Awesome!

Staying positive. One day at a time.....look how that attitude has blessed this dear family. I pray the light you shed abroad will touch many lives. May you continue to be the change you want to see in the world

Should have had interviews with Emma and Nicki.

AWESOME....DAD....AWESOME FAMILY....pulling together for the sake of each other... Wish there were 'more' people like them in the word ...today....So SORRY for your loosing ...the love of your life.........God Bless..........( I'm drawn to the similarities with Rory the country singer : (

Amazingly amazing, loving souls! #Heartwarminghappiness

If one has a family that needs them, he/she must realized God has offered a way to be there for them. We can reach a longer life by obeying Deut. 6:8-9. Reading to the end of the chapter, we see that He asks us to do this so He can preserve our lives. Then again, Jesus tells us His words are spirit and they are life. So by obeying God, loving Jesus, and doing as they say prolongs our lives. They add more life to what you were already given. That extra time with your loved ones may just get you and yours to the Day of our Lord. Buy time from God with the gifts He has already given you. Your life, time, mind, all that you have, serve Him and help yourself and your loved ones. Good decisions seem to add life, bad ones deteriorate what little life given us. We weren't given "Commandments" to harm us, but to help us in this journey. What parent would give rules to the children that would negatively impact their growth? Our Heavenly Father offers good wisdom, as does the prophets and The Son. Let's give our families all we know. Put them in the Law (Ten Commandments) and Testimony (Sermon on the Mount) and pray. May you and yours learn the full armour of God and work together for the full blessings from our Heavenly Father.

I love your family it reminds me of my brother, him and his wife adopted 3 girls with downs when they were babies and then when the youngest turned 14 my sister-in-law passed away from bladder cancer leaving my brother to raise 7 kids 5 with special needs.... when the oldest turned 21 and out of school he opened an envelope company so the kids would have a place to work, my 2 oldest nephews are their biological kids the other 5 are all adopted... my nieces parents didn't want them because they have downs all I can say it THEIR LOSE OUR GAIN...

what an amazing man and father beautiful bond he has with his girls this was awesome to watch ...loved it i live in hawkes bay nz ...god bless your lovely family xx

What a great video!

I love the name, "Downlights"...so fitting and so perfect! Such a great older sister...I was so proud of my sister too...she was such a light and had so much love for everyone.

I love the name, "Downlights"...so fitting and so perfect!

I love the name, "DownLights"...perfect and so fitting!

Down Syndrome children and adults can do far more, if people are patient with them...my youngest sister was Down's also and she passed away one year ago at age 58, come the 8th of June 2019. After my father passed away in 2009, I wanted her to come and live with me, but it wasn't to be...instead she spent the last 6 years in a Nursing Home...she never belonged there to begin with, but my mother refused to go into one unless my sister went with her...and so it was...legally, there was nothing we could do to change that. My mother wasn't the easiest person to live with...the first year or so, they were in Assisted living together and they had to seperate them because my mother was disciplining my sister in a physical manner. My sister became a ward of the state...just so terribly sad, all that happened to her, during her lifetime...it's very hard to talk about. I am sooo glad, Tony that you are such a wonderful Dad and care about your daughters so much, as to want them to have something in their lives...it is so important for them to have that...a sense of being "worth" something is so important, because they are worth far more than most people know. I'm sorry too that you lost your wife...I, too, lost mine to cancer...it was his third bout and it was to be his last...that was almost 25 years ago now. To Emma, Nicki and you, Tony...I wish you all beautiful Blessings and love.

Tony I appreciated you sharing yalls life with us. Thank you.

Everyone in this story has such a beautiful soul - so glad I watched this..

What a wonderful loving man with a fabulous family and attitude towards life! If only we could all live so openly and be able to show everyone exactly how we feel at any given time... Life is so short; we all need to open up and take a lesson in life from this amazing family!! I wish you all the Very Best Things that Life has to give! Peace, Love, Joy and Laughter ~ what could be better? Thank you for sharing your story with us!

I love you guys!!! I would love to go over and meet y'all. You are so inspiring and would love to spend time with y'all. Maybe you can help me write a couple books. I love you Emma!!I love you Nicky!!

I love you big sister!!!!

Apparently it only takes 25 minutes and 16 seconds to fall in love. I love this Dad, his late-wife, and his children. What a fabulous group of people. I think people with down syndrome are incredibly loving and sweet and I love them for that. I do not have a child or even a relative with down syndrome but I do know a couple of people with down syndrome in my personal life and they are some of the most loving sweet precious people I have ever met. They always seem happy and are quick to laughter and I think that they are a gift.

Love that Dad

Iv'e always been blown away by how affectionate people with Down Syndrome are... it really should be called "Up Syndrome" because being in their presence lifts people 'up'. Iv'e never thought of them as disabled... just joyous and affectionate and humorous and loving and knowing!!!

I hope people in Iceland are watching this.

My Whine-o-meter is PERMANENTLY adjusted. Bless this man with joy, no more pain & loss, please!!

Congratulations

Thank you

Sooooo moving.

Awesome family...

Amazing father!

What a lovely family!!

The USA is much more progressive about integrating people with disabilities into the workplace. But it hasn’t always been that way. New Zealand will come along,

Sunfish OutOfWater well where I live it is, I have been a counselor helping DD find work. Not only do we have jobs at large corporations such as McDonalds, Jack in the Box, KFC, Safeway, willing to take developmentally disabled people on, we have provocation which is financed by the State of Washington. Bay Liner Boats is another employer. The prevocational, would bus the kids in and they’d work doing the wiring for 1/2 the day. All supervised by a paid counselor not employed by the organization but a counselor working for prevocational. There were too many opportunities for me to List, This is Washington State, when I was in Maine similar situations existed through Maine Care support, I have also been able to get my clients work when I was living in Florida and Oregon. California is also another forerunner in helping people with disabilities to gain independence. However, there is and always will be a stigma and that’s where education comes in. I would educate my prospective employers on what to expect and creating a special task list or daily goal for my clients. If the state you live in isn’t progressive perhaps you can help by encouraging the owners, managers where you see a DD person employed or your serviced by a special needs person. Encouragement and praise goes a long way.

Paige Webber fellow American here, & while some with disabilities are readily integrated into various workplace settings, to state or imply that such integration is commonplace throughout the US &/ or that things are universally “more progressive” here in that regard is simply not true.

Your girls are awesome and you are an amazing dad ..your girls are so happy and loved and it shows all the time

Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

They are so lucky to have this amazing dad! And he is lucky to have these beautiful girls!

What adorable girls. They couldn't be any more lovable. I do have a problem with news stories that say a Down Syndrome person started their own business. That is not what happened here or with any of thoes stories. It gives the public the wrong idea. The parents always start a business for them . They are not able to do this kind of project and need many supports in place. I know this because I live alone with my 22yr old Downs daughter and she is even more high functioning than Emma and Nicki. I don't have the means to start a business so that my daughter can have a job. This father is very lucky to have 2. It can be very lonely for them as they become adults.

An amazing journey for you and your family. Allot of growth here and positive things happening. Your children are amazing people. They are sweet and loving, we need the positive attitudes they have. So wonderful ♥️

Now this is a real man! Wow!

This is absolutely beautiful!

What a family full of love!!!~~~~~~~ God's greatest gift, Love❤️

I am still teary....beautiful girls and beautiful dad and sister. My angel was born with Down Syndrome 16 yrs ago. At 8.5 yrs old...Autism hit hard. She was high functioning Downs, spoke and was very independent. She regressed 6 yrs and had to be taught everything all over again. She never regained speech...and Autism is very debilitating...she needs 24/7 care. I remember those lovely times when she was just like the girls here Still trying to find out why this happened and if my girl can come back to me. Much love to this fantastic family

God bless your amazing family. ❤️

There are some special people in this world.

I absolutely adore this family story. I love that it presumes how capable the young women are, as opposed to starting from where they need help. We all need help to some degree, but looking out for one another and helping build us all up to be our best selves is what it’s all about. They have much to be proud of.

Just lovely well done to you all ,we should all take stock

NZ is lovely

The dad and all the sisters are amazing. I feel awful they lost their mum. I hope the brother is ok.

This is such an inspiring video. Lovely family.

This happened exactly to a family in our church, they both suddenly dreamed they were going to have one more child, it was a beautiful blonde girl with down syndrome. They never regretted having her, in our church we believe they are special souls protected by God to remind us of His total & unconditional love. We're privileged to have them in our lives. Sadly this beautiful mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and beat it the 1st time. It came back again, but in 2010 both she & I held the banner for our local cancer walk we were both given remission diagnosis. I was so excited for her because she had a family that I could only dream of, I would never have children, because of what happened to me. She had a family to live for, especially her daughter. The last child was very dependent upon her. We live in a small community that doesn't provide the services seen here. Her daughter was only 11 at the time and one had an hour and a half drive down a twisting mountain to do anything remotely helpful, the father would be left with caring for the young girl the rest of his life. Plus their oldest son had just been diagnosed with schizophrenia and placed in a mental health unit because he couldn't be managed, he had just married only 6 months before to his high school, sweetheart, so there were all these pressures. Then my friends cancer came back again, and no matter what she tried, she ended up passing away. To this day I feel guilty to have survived when she had so much to be here for.

God Bless You and your family .

A Life Time Commitment..

I could see if he didn't take on that positive attitude of his late wife he wouldn't have been as much of a help with his girls. So inspiring in the face of such scary things to go on positive!

They shouldn't be licking the glue on those labels!

Light to the world !!!!

OMG I’m in love with that man you can literally feel the he has for his children through the screen God Bless him and his beautiful family may god bless him that he may be reunited with his wife again on Paradise!!

gigicats6 I don’t know- that’s why I asked you the question. It wasn’t rhetorical, I am genuinely intrigued if that’s the most important thing that stuck in your mind to comment about?

What great dad!I love the Positive attitude, beautiful family. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. I'm so so sorry for your loss. And yes, the' girls will do well together. So proud of you for keeping your wife's positivity and carrying on for your children..

What an amazing family. Raising 4 children, managing 3 businesses and renovating a house..into a family home. I got exhausted just listening to Tony talk about it. This dad deserves an award but moreso a long holiday for him and his children. I want to learn from Tony and live each day with a positive attitude. If he can do it after all he's been through. Also how gorgeous was his wife and such an amazing mum too. I had to,add how loving and beautiful Tony's daughters are. Watching this made me want to meet them all and spen a day with them, i would be so happy

i admire this family tremendously. Not solely because of the disabilities or overcoming obstacles but that they are all seemingly supportive, creative, loving, optimistic people who seem to enjoy each other's company. They show unconditional love, which is rare. That is something to be cherished and admired. Especially by those of is that had to start fresh and find their own family and support as adults. :) I very much appreciate all the tremendous positivity and sheer will your family (and their support network) puts into making this world better for everyone.

Such an amazing person

I can’t stop crying and admiring of how strong of a dad you are! You are so blessed in many ways! You got 2 angels that love you so much!

My admiration goes to this Dad, and his whole family.

They are so precious to me indeed When you love one.. you Love them all

The love between those sisters is amazing and beautiful!!!

Amazing man.

What a wonderful dad, the girls are lovely, bless this happy family.x

I send my prayers and respect to you sir. I know that feeling of losing a loved one. It’s hard to get through the day but keeping busy and having a purpose is the secret for sure. I lost my youngest daughter and son in law and have sole custody of their little girl. It’s a full time job taking care of a little one. I’ve done it before many years ago, this time I’m hoping to do a better job. I was self employed my whole life and my wife did most of the work with our kids. Now it’s my turn at it. We are doing well and I enjoy my time with her. God bless you and your family okay !!✌

:) AWMAZING

You are a great man and dad.

This made me cry. What an inspiring guy. And Nicki clearly has her mom's sunny character! Emma probably is a bit more like him.

Very sweet and inspiring story.  As great as all of this is; I hope the Dad will find love again.  He seems a bit lonely.  What a wonderful family!

Seeing how vibrant Mom Carolyn was...and so quickly she was gone...Bless Tony for forging through his loss. An amazing loving father. If I was their neighbor...I would be a helpful Granny because I love positive people who need a bit of a boost here and there. Always the ones who do not complain. Shine on "Downlights" !!

Beautiful family.

In my country the municipals have to offer guided jobs for handicapped adults as a part of social services. According to this, in New Zeland it's good bye and good luck when a special needs person turns 21?

Bravo à ce papa extra ordinaire !!!

What an amazing dad❤ Beautiful family

Lovely young women in a wonderful family. I wish them all success, and hope Emma and Nikki make great strides at work.

They are angels

This man.....anyone would be lucky to have a man like this!!! He's an amazing husband and father!!!!

Amazing family amazing father

Love all beings who already exist. Love them unconditionally. But please don't make more living beings. The world is badly overpopulated we are seeing the results of this now in form of stress, methane pollution, CO2 emissions and terror.

I’d be proud of myself if my independence has grown like Emma’s like has.

You, Sir - are an Incredible Person - full of love, hope, compassion and integrity !! :) Kudos to Sweet Jennifer too ! So Kind of you ... Much Thanks, from a fellow Canadian ! :) Claudia too, so Kind and Caring !! :)

Your Girls are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! I know their Mom is watching over them and know you all will be ok!! You both raised them to be strong girls!! I may be in another Country, but, I see what you and you wife did. They were raised JUST like their other siblings!! You will all be fine, but if you need someone to complain to or B -itch to, I do understand! As a kid, my neighbor was deaf and mute(taught me how to sign and read lips, NOT great after all these yrs, but still can!!) due to being stuck by lighting. AND, when I was in HS, A TON of yrs ago(I am 52yrs old now), I worked in SPEC ED. So I KNOW what special kids need at times! GOOD LUCK to YOUR family!! You DESERVE NOTHING LESS!!!

Amazing Dad. Amazing story.

in the US, recently, we have down syndrome people working everywhere. esp. the food store chains, walmarts, goodwills, & some fast food eateries. but you do need verbal skills & a certain level of understanding & these 2 girls seem lacking in that which would make it harder to place them. what a wonderful family. i'll buy candles from them.

Amazing her accent is ever so slightly New Zealand, crazy how that changes due to living in another country.

Wow just amazing. Beautiful loving family! Hopefully one day I'll make a beautiful family like yalls

The woman with the candles.... You could literally sense how beautiful her energy was through the screen. ♥

An absolutely amazing soul... He accepts his negatives, who wouldn't struggle losing their soul mate, he is heart strong

Tony, you are a strong, lovely and attractive man and dad! It‘s heartwarming to see how you raise your kids! Keep on going - attitude positive!!!

Such a touching story and such a beautiful family. Wishing all good things for you. Bless.

Hi, I’m hanging in here. To much excruciating fibromyalgia pain since Wednesday. But I’m positive in my thoughts. Thanks for asking

'Just too beautiful' I think will say it all. I smiled through the entire video. Thank you for sharing your wonderful family with us all. Warm hugs, Elaine from South Africa

are they identical

I love u

Your daughters are so besutiful, angels! That so awesome thst you're making sure they reach their highest level on being on their own! God bless you all!

Reading the comments, everyone has already said what I'm feeling. Basically, this man is amazing. I think he carries with him a special part of his wife. Its apparent he loved her very much. She would be so proud of what he has accomplished. May the Good Lord continue to Bless this family.

What a loving generous all-around good guy and great Dad! How fantastic that the kids are able to work with and continue bonding with you. They are wonderful girls. One question Superdad-where is your cape?!

He's so amazing raising four kids is overwhelming, and he set up a business for them.

pretty cool how the woman has a slight accent from living there for 20 something years. It's such a unique accent

Reminds me of when i worked with my dad at age 9 and 10

Damn i would love to work there

There wonderful parents. With 4 beautiful children.

This is a dad right here! This is amazing! I wanted to give him a hug through the screen when he spoke about Carolyn. As for the candles, hope I can order online!

The letter to his kids was my breaking point, I cried like a baby! What respect I have from this dad!

So sad poor guy.

She loves her dad so much aww

Pretty young ladies

What a special person this man is

Such a beautiful story

Absolutely beautiful! I pray that his business grows. His daughters all three are lovely.

This man is beyond words! What a incredibly wonderful, kind, attentive and loving father. I wish he and his family nothing but the absolute best! Edit: and their sister is just as awesome

I'm feeling the father holla im single

Im crying like a new born baby so amazing

Beautiful family!!

I wonder how hard it was for the girls to lose their mum

Inspirational! I want to know where I can buy their candles.

OMG the sisters bond is so precious how could anyone not like them

I love ppl with DS they are the sweetest most love able ppl

There shouldn’t be no age limit for ppl with disabilities they already know it’s hard to get them a regular job with ppl that don’t know how to deal with them!

What are the odds of having husband and wife of an age which produces not one but 2 children with Down syndrome ? At 50 the odds are something like one in 500 children born with Down syndrome with parents age 50.

This is what all men should aspire to be like. Perfect dad here

He really is like a candle. Burning himself so that her daughters can shine brightly. He’s an amazing human being. They’re all are amazing

Does anyone have a link to were we can buy these candles

Two min. in- PLEASE COOK THE BACON!!!!!! You can't feed ppl raw pork it can kill you!

Want like to bring your Dather Mana to work with you keep Rick and God bless make me smile

Can these candles be shipped internationally?? I would love to buy and support.

What a wonderful story....a father's love knows no bounds differently abled not disabled! Beautiful girls!

Latrease S yes I love them as well, I especially love watching them conquer all. They are truly God’s angels.

R yes I’ve read somewhere that if you live somewhere with a unique accent, you too will pick up the accent in as little as a year. Pretty awesome!

Amazing dad and sweet, loving daughters......all 3!

love down symdrome people

Amazing family!! God will always supply!!

I hope the business succeeds beyond their wildest dreams.

perfect father and perfect family ...I really love them ...god bless them

This man is profoundly incredible, the hardships he and his family have faced are both sadly sobering and inspiring; bittersweet. Mr Sykes, and his beautiful girls are a blessing to humanity.

All the best to this amazing Dad and your family.

❤❤❤❤❤❤

Have respect lads

What an amazing relationship your family has with each other. Emma and Nicki are adorable. I have a 30 yr old Down Syndrome daughter. Jamie is the love of my life. God Bless all of you!

*eyes all puffy* this got to me.

Super daddy i hope i see you guys

Very understanding!

How come I only hear from them Where is their brother

He is a shining example of a dad! Bless them all, so sad he lost his wife but she fought hard to try and beat it, his daughters are beautiful too, I love people with down syndrome because they are so loving and happy, we have a test I can take in the uk to see when u r pregnant if ur baby has it and each time I was pregnant I refused to have it because to me it wouldn’t of made any difference at all, I also believe only special parents get children with disabilities, I’ve always wanted to adopt a child with disability’s but now I am disabled myself I know now I would find it very hard work even with my husbands help, I find it so sad and shocking that in new Zealand they don’t really employ people who have disabilities because end of the day they deserve to be treated the same as anyone else, I wish this beautiful family all the love and happiness in the world xxxxxx

I love your channel, i needed to tell you this. I'm learning so much everyday, and even more while watching your videos. Thank you.

♥️♥️♥️

lol the hardest part of watching this video is watching him drive on the wrong side of the road. Love coming from California. What a beautiful loving family.

BEAUTIFUL family and wonderful FATHER

19:17 lol aww Emma is like let go dad.. Not in front of friends

You give such hope and joy with the love in action you have with your daughter’s. I have one daughter who is so compromised from a brain condition. There is not a day that passes that I don’t worry about her and her future. I’m in such despair about this. I don’t know what to do.

Such a beautiful story

That bacon was not crisp!

What a man, What a man, What a man, What a mighty good man!!! Yes he is!

Say perfect family not his perfect family they are already perfect

There are still good hearted people remaining in this world. God bless the lady, God bless that father. So his kids. He is doing excelente. What a positive actitud.

I know of a young woman with downs syndrome, she has a cute figure, dresses fashionably, attended college [to work with handicapped children] went to her prom, and is into sports. Her young parents always treated her like their other 2 kids, not special.

Wow that’s a good looking Dad. Super attractive on the inside as well as the out.

Such a great story.such a strong man...it's sad to lose a loved one

What an amazing dad, im in awe !

Crying my ass off

Omg this dad is so so daddy material awesome, these kids are his world

Poor good man... Deserves praise.

Such a great father

I am overwhelmed by the love that supersedes challenges... awesome attitude

What an amazing Dad, I have so much respect for him and the girl’s sister

Tony Sykes, treasure all your wife's memories for she was a Great Woman, caring mom and an angel! It seems to me that you are carrying on with her legacy wonderfully well. God bless you all. STAY Positive!

Awesome father ,awesome kids.

What a wonderful dad.

How can anyone dislike this beautiful video. What an amazing father and sister. Very sad that their mum died. Beautiful family

Such a heartwarming story! Wow!

He kiss her non stop. That warms my heart

OH MY. Firstly, the father is AMAZING! Also, my family is also 4 kids, (3 girls and 1 boy like them) and my mom also died of cancer....

Omg!!! I love this family. They're so blessed to have one another. Awesome dad!

It is incredible that he created a company for his Down's daughters, they need so much help. I would take another direction, yes you got it

Glad i saw this. Thanks

Beautiful family! I noticed that attitudes towards downs children are different than here in the U.S. That's the impression I get, anyway. We have the disabilities act, etc. The rights of the disabled are very important here. I hope it becomes that way in New Zealand as well. What a blessing these girls are!

Tou merite paradise

God Bless you and your kids. Great Dad.

Wish there were more people like Tony in this world.

you are an amazing father and a great influence and inspiration. i hope life continues to bless you with and all of the kids!

Dear Tony you are really a great GREAT MAN AND DAD. I love your "positive attitude" and the way you are rising your kids and face your life. I am italian, did you come to italy on your european journey? Hope so! Emma is like me , I think too sleepy in the morning just to say "good morning!", she is very sweet and she makes candles like me.... very gooooood! Nikki is such a sweet lovely girl too, thry are really special and be sure they will find their place in the world and will be more and more independent. Great dad really. Your Carolyn would be very proud of your for sure. Million blessings from milan to this special family

What a great dad you have a lovely family, may God see you through

God blessed you with beautiful children. And God blessed your children with a beautiful dad!

You are such an inspiration to other parents! I teach students with special needs and I love them! In addition to my own teaching unit, I teach instrumental music and singing too! My students are so talented! Every success in all your future endeavours! God bless you.

I LOVE THIS VIDEO. I CRIED HAPPY TEARS. Glad their dad decided to CREATE an opportunity for his girls. different doesn't mean stupid. ❣❣❣❣

You are amazing !

Time to buy some candles.....

How could anyone dislike this this is beautiful

This is one of the most heartwarming stories I’ve seen in a very long time. Beautiful family.

Great family love!

I notice down syndrome people are very kind people .very good natured,I wish them.al! the best.

My jaw dropped when he said he lost his wife. My hat goes off to this man. What a wonderful person and fantastic father! Very beautiful family ❤️❤️❤️

That story melts my heart. I need some candles.

You are a great n wonderful father.

That lady helped someone set up in competition to her! How kind she is.

People can be the most amazing things.

Down syndrome persons seems have lost all the mean side of humans..they are so sweet and good golden hearted....I love them

Indeed, he’s the father of the year.

Older sister is so nice

I'm so glad I found this video. What a beautiful family and an incredible father

BEAUTIFUL

My cheeks hurt I could not stop smiling! Love you Emma and Nicki, you are so pretty! Good souls all round. x

What a lovely story. That father deserves a medal for what he is doing for his beautiful girls

What a wonderful man. I just want all the best for him and his daughters.

I am proud of you super and strong man , you're superhero for your beautiful daughters, you deserve a lot of happiness and healthy and good things with your daughters in life.I love you all the beautiful daughters and their great and amazing , strong dad.

Give me the link to buy one of there candles just so i can show it off and say i bought it from them.

Why not get more people like his children. In the company.

Ive heard from a special ed teacher, that DS kids are so very loving & honest w/their feelings & also physically stronger than others.... . Its fascinating how this dad has done so well.....the girls are blessed.

Some lousy luck for a lucky man❤

It made me smile & cry at the same time the while i was watching this. Its very inspiring and heart warming watching their story. A Father's love knows no boundary and the two girls is so wonderful. I hope for more abundance, joy and love for them.

how sweet these two girls are.......god bless them.

That's got to be my favorite episode of attitude to date. Yr an inspirational dad and a large light of encouragement you ooze with positivity and u should be apsolutely proud of what you've achieved with and for Yr girls. How heart warming it was to have the privilege to have an insight in u an yr families lives, thank u.

God bless and help this man. My husband abandoned me and our 2 small daughters meanwhile this man lost his wife and raises his 2 daughters with DS, alone. I am glad to see there are still real men out there.

What a beautiful family and a wonderful story! So inspiring to watch. ❤️☘️

Wow. I can't believe he asked his normal daughter to delay her life and essentially become a mother to two toddlers at age 17. And these two sisters are pretty low functioning, they can barely speak and seem like a 12-18 month old intelligence wise.

I am amazed at this guy's inner strength. Lost his wife and two disabled kids. I couldn't imagine.

And basically people buy their candles as a charitable donation for DS. It's heartwarming, but it doesn't change the reality that DS people need a lot of help their entire lives. She'll be a nursing home after he dies.

Basically as long as every parent of a DS adult starts a business for their disabled child and completely runs it for them then everything will be fine...until he dies.

My brother has Down Syndrome too. And I surely will say he is the source of our happiness. So encouraged to have seen this.

This superdaddy is the Rock for sure yaaaaasssss

Stop being so bitter

Bless them all ; & May they have long , healthy , happy , position, prosperous lives !!

13:07 I almost cry..I feel his pain.so proud of u ..(dad)

As heartwarming as this is, truth be told the dad wouldn't have been able to do it without significant capital. I wonder how many kids with DS in New Zealand come from poor families and therefor don't have the same opportunities that these girls have. great story nonetheless.

Love love love this!

I love that you want to take care of and give Emma and Nikki a fulfilling life and give others like them their best life.

This video is so inspiring! It's so heartwarming to see this father step up and be an incredible parent after losing his wife, he is so attentayive and loving to his children! This video is Amazing!

Wow ! Inspirational just the kick up the butt I needed. What a wonderful family.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your wife.

Who are the haters here? Really?? Why?? What is so wrong in your lives that you can dislike this? i'm not even gonna give you hate back. That's too good for you. i do however wish you can wake up to yourself. Amazing family. Wonderful to see. Love them. Good on you dad. Just beautiful.

Wonderful story and wonderful family...wish you all the very best

Downs people are very lovely, I have a daughter with downs but i always worry about her future. You are such a good dad

And to see some baby daddies wanting no part in their children's lives choosing hoes over their kids.

I wasn't ready to have my heart melted like a candle.

Beautiful family and god bless that lady for helping with his business

Man, they are all inspiring people: the dad, the girls, the candle lady, the sister, the supporters, those bikers. Great example as to how humanity should act. Love the video, more like this we need. Thank you for sharing this video to the world.

Ohh my wonderful family!! Yes u are lucky to have them. They are all angels. Godbless your family.

Hi just wanted to say hi to you all my daughter has Down syndrome

What a humble man ,a credit to his family

Your family is so happier than mine. So much love in yours. there is someone with a mental disorder in my family. his disorder creates pain and suffering. Your household is such a blessing. Love to you all.

So proud of you Sir Emma and Nikki are indeed a blessing

The girls are so cute so beautiful

Beautiful Man sending well wishes to you all. I am so inspired

Life is short, and so there will always be something to celebrate about an honest business getting off the ground quickly, but people whose lives untouched by disability have got to earn their stuff just like others.

For your business to just be handed to you, it does send the message that people whose lives are touched by disability are to be pitied and have things handed to them.

teacher looks like angelica houston

This video make my day ❤ What a lovely family, both Emma and Nicky are very sweet girls. Well done to daddy and their sister to give them all they need and of course lady, who support their candle business. R.I.P. to their mama

A remarkable family, so full of love and adoration for each other. Awesome dad and sweet lovely girls!! The best of luck and happiness to all.

I cried, and I laughed. A huge eye opener, thank you for sharing your story! I will be buying some candles today! XOXO

Be positive and keep swimming . Respect .

Unconditional love must be taught at schools and colleges. Loving down syndrome people are not going to be dangerous. Let's give up hatred and wars. Let's adopt the depressed, differently-abled and the sick. Let's rock the world from today. Kill poachers and psychopaths. Love the differently abled and depressed.

you are divine.

Proves once again Not all heros wear capes Bless you and your beautiful family my friend May everything you touch turn to gold and your life be full of nothing but love, peace, positivity and happiness

such a wonderful story. seeing this man raising both girls by himself, running a business that started with the help of a woman that offered her manufacturing know-how. i know now that angels do exist! bless this family!

Your daughters are beautiful and you are an excellent dad...

Thanks to the Sykes family for sharing this little sad/fun side of your lives with us! Also where your plans for your girls and other people with DS could feel safe and have to know that there matter, has a father of a child with DS (like your oldest daughter mentioned it's a second nature wanting the best for them and including them in everything like families do) may the future of your business and aims be met with kind and helpful hands throughout. Amen

They are beautiful and so strong well done dad I'd be so proud if they were my girls

Beautiful kids, beautiful dad and a beautiful life. Kisses.

these girls can b glad, to have a strong father like this... i have a child, and the father is not even able 2 care a healthy kid... godblessthisman.

You are good father great God bless you bro and your daughter are so sweet

They are so cute, I wanna hug them.

thats the most nasty disgusting ugly thing ive ever seen, who ever in their right mind would keep a downs baby! retarted motherfuckers who don't belong on this earth just vile and disgusting. im disgusted that I have the same name as one of those creatures.

What an amazing & wonderful man/father he is. Not many men would of looked after 2 Down Syndrome Daughters and start a business on there own. The heartbreak he is still feeling from his wife’s death is so sad. The girls are a complete credit to him.

Lovely girls

Your wife is very proud of you from heaven above. Her spirit is peaceful because she trusts the great father you are to your children, the encouragement you and your girls are giving to other people with or without the down syndrome. Continue to be positive and take great care of yourself for your children. They all need you, a father like you is very exceptional. You are an inspiration to world! Thank you for for being an amazing father and an inspiration to us all. Thanks to the kind; supportive lady who taught you more about the candles.

Some dads wouldn't even care about there children props to *FATHER*

Such a loving family and an amazing father!

Wow love this

Down's Syndrome is great. People with Down's Syndrome are generally happier, friendlier and more honest than people without.

What an awesome little family. Thank you for telling us your story, it's a really special bond you all have. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Xx

What a beautiful family. So much love.

Your so strong dad,so proud to see you and your kids are helping each other, thats the spirit STAY POSITIVE

Another amazing story!!!

Who is cutting all those Onions!!

Why would anyone have another child after one Down syndrome...it’s obvious they were older parents at high risk, that’s crazy

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 and spend that whole year going through operations, chemo and radiation therapy. She didn't even have a single cancer scare since. I still remember how hard it was on her and us kids, I was only 16 while my siblings were 22 and 29 and didn't live with us anymore so I handled a lot of stuff around the house. Definitely not something I will ever forget.

Try work and income they will help you to get a job easier than handling the cv to Radom job that they want to do and they have job seekers support so if they are paying unfair to you so they can get extra money.

I come from nz her dad is a great dad after her mum passed away i know why people don’t empty special needs people because some of these kids take long to learn so they don’t want them to work in some work place which requires speed and accuracy which some do need because I have adhd but I can work hard and learn a little bit better, it depends on the learn difficulty and what medical terminology they use on kids and adult to see what learn difficulty I know It is hard to learn in some , school which the don’t have a help centre or you might to find a special school to go to learn so they fall through the crack in learning. Because every body learn at different speeds.

Love to yall

Humans with their soul are killing people in their sleep

Humans with their ghost not combined in their body are happening and being included as part of this world

Celebrity have their ghost along side them. "Ghost are among the human on earth most feared by humans.

They have Their ghost among them and not in their body

I’m so proud of you for teaching your girls for being their self my oldest sister have son with Down syndrome u are amazing father and families God got u and ur beautiful girls

I know what it's like to love a special gifted child, they are unique and amazing!

I love you Tony.

God bless this family

Sorry but mentally challenged should not be aloud to breed ....

Was anyone else a little misled by the title? I see it in the related videos so it was cut off and all it showed was "I am running a business with down syndrome" so I thought it was a man WITH down syndrome who owned his own business

OMG WHAT A "SUPER" DAD!!!

Love the connection between you as father daughters...God blessed

What an amazing father.

Why asking your daughter quit university to help you and not your son

This father is doing a great job with his daughters. Down Syndrome kids are so affectionate and loving. He could have just given up after his wife died, but he's so courageous. The girls are lovely.

Amazing, I wish i can be like you. I have a son with autism.

Amazing father and family ❤️

You are doing great as a father .....you have beautiful girls their

What an amazing man.

What a perceptive functional loving smart man. He said “she always loved candled so why not start a candle business”. That’s beautiful

What lovely family. To me I work with people with Down syndrome I don't see a disability All I see is LOT OF LOVE FROM FAMILY. THAT GREAT & AWESOME. KEEP IT UP. How much are you candles? Can you ship them cross the big pond (Canada) ? The

What an amazing story! Positive attitude in spades.

❤❤❤

What a good good man and 3 wonderful women he's raised... My faith in humanity as been reassured by watching this video!!

Oh my! I love these people!

Great story

I mean everyone wants these guys to get jobs but the unfortunate fact is that their intellectual disability does not allow them to be employable. They are a huge burden at the workplace and cannot contribute more than they take. Of course this is not their fault, no one chooses to be born with a disability but we shouldn't expect employers to employ them.

much respect for the dad

Anyone else think Tony would be such a good actor

The amount of love in this family is too much too handle. Anyone else find themselves yelling “cut it” at the screen when he asked them to cut it and they took their sweet time? Also when he was in the middle of the interview and his daughter came up with the suitcase, she sounded like a minion and it was the cutest thing!

What a wonderful father. ❤️❤️

What a blessing this has been to see. GREAT DAD

you are a great dad we all are proud of you, keep up the good work, you are inspiring millions of people, nikki and Emma should be so proud for having you.

Such an inspiring story so beautiful and heartwarming.

What an absolute wonderful family with a great ATTITUDE towards life.

You are a true definition of a Dad

Wow. Parenting goals! Candles look lovely

Those hugs are just beautiful...God bless the family!

Why 215 dislikes? Damn russian trolls.

There is a young lady here in the US that her and her dad also have a business, it's called Gracie's Doggie Delights. She has a facebook page. You should check her out.

Beautiful!  The girls are beautiful, their sister is beautiful, and their Dad is terrific.  Suggestion: Dad marries the other candle maker lady and it becomes a Hallmark movie!

Having a family member who was disabled and developmentally similar to these two cuties, I understand the worry parents go through. Everyday my parents would worry about who would take care of my cousin when they died, this man has broken barriers as a father and giving chances to other disabled kids, including his own. Support him as much as we can, so his business grows, and those other disabled kids out there, who have parents worried sick about their future, will have something to lean on. To live for. He is so positive, people don't know what it's like until you have one of your own. The judgement, the stares, ugly comments towards a innocent child who is only full of love. I hope to do something similar once I have enough money of my own.

She said 'all the destructive christians who said I should have stayed with two???' What does his even mean and what on earth does the christian belief has to do with anything?' - I don't get why you would say that in a documentary about down syndrome, . It's such a close-minded thing to say because when they are 'destructive' they are not real christians, whoever she was ramblin about, I don't know a christian who would judge about a parent of a disabled child - it's quite the opposite

Mate u deserve father of the year...you’ve really step up into a special role

Hi

Lots of love and respect for daddy...

Seriously no offense but I thought from the thumbnail that the dad had down syndrome as well. I was like wow that's unbelievable, but I was wrong. This dad is awesome though :) the candle lady is sweet as well, she didnt care about making money and basically lent her whole business and experience to these people. Omg the poor wife, I cant believe that... life isnt fair...

And I can't even get my partner to take the bins out.. this guy is a legend!!! what a man

I want to see more videos of these sisters I instantly fell in love with them they're genuinely sweet girls I can't say enough good things they just give good vibes smiles and happiness

219!! Karma..!!! Go hide .. Bless you kids..go shine!!

My respect to you dad, I'm in a similar situation eventhough none of my kids have a disability. You are a blessing to many sir you and your family will remain in my prayers.

You are a wonderful man. Every child deserves a father like you, the world would be a better place :)

a beautiful story. bless that father he is amazing, i hope he finds his true happiness as well

Good on you, Tony. Maybe we'll get to meet you guys one day to say G'day. Keep it going. Love the drive and positivity :) Crumpet (Rob)

I read once that souls choose to reincarnate with various disabilities to experience being humble, needing help, and being taken care of by others, and to relate to others through unconditional love instead of intellect or physical prowess. Taking care of a disabled loved one is difficult sometimes but offers so much spiritual growth as a reward. In reality we are all equal in value before God.

Awesome

I’m guessing English isn’t your first language

This is amazing. I have no words

What an awesome idea!!I just went to facebook and followed you. I am from Michigan in the USA and I too love candles.

Beautiful family ❤️ God bless them!

My father mentally and physically abused my brother who ls now 53 because he couldn't accept the fact that he was downs syndrome, but my brother had me who was 13 years old when he was born who protected him as much as I could, now at 67 I have been his sole carer for 10 years since our mother died of cancer at 87, I love him to bits and 5 years ago he became bedbound after taking medication for epilepsy that came on suddenly but I will not be parted from him until he decides to give up. I will keep him safe, comfortable and as happy as I can until then. I need to impress on you how important it is to make sure that you have someone who could take over and care for them if the worst happens, at 16 I told my mother he would never end up in an institute and I even stay with him 24-7 when he is hospitalised because he cannot comunicate anymore. If any one would like to know how downs deteriorate as they get older ask me, the I first noticed was his constant burping and flatulence was because he was lactose intolerant and he also had sleep apoena and now has to sleep upright but the main thing is that downs can be over sensitive to certain medicines. If they start showing signs of dementia and have siezures never ever let them prescribe Kepra, thats how my brother became bed bound and it didn't stop the seizures and if other medications don't seem to work or make it worse lower the doseage, gaseous smells and bad air quality trigger my brothers seizures.

What an awesome Dad!! XOXO
