know that every single monday once a week to help you with the week ahead how's everybody doing right now so glad drawn if you are just joining us the way this works is simple i go on and help notaries with any issues that they mean having with their business i am so excited to be here with you guys today remember it's one-on-one notary coaching and i'm here to help you with your business so simply add right here this little button right here add yourself right there and go one on one anything you need let's get this party started how's everybody doing let's go sophia how are we doing to talk to everybody where are you from i know where you're from let's tell everybody else where you're from and let's go so i'm sophia also known as soph i'm from dc and i've been getting on here a while or whatever and i almost didn't get on here because i had a really rough week but i was like i'm not gonna duck i'm not gonna hide i'm not gonna run i'm gonna get on here get some help and i'm gonna reboot this thing let's go so last week i made a mistake on one of my signings just going straight up put it out there and it was to the point where my direct was like hey we're gonna hold off we're gonna put you on some ice and it was a punch to the gut mark it really yeah yeah i cried like i was boo-hoo and i was crying i started studying again i started marketing again but my confidence took a major hit and i don't know how to really bounce back from that first and foremost so let me give you a hug girl through the phone i hope you feel that i won't let you know this i have lost more clients than i can literally remember i've lost clients for reasons that are mine i have lost clients for reasons that are not mine so thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing with everybody that the ups and downs of being a business owner are real and you're going to have good days and you're going to have bad days like you're having now and i think part of what you're experiencing is just being a business owner for the first time and so know that it's okay i know it's going to be okay but what i want to really let you know on is this this is part of the journey if anybody ever tells you that they don't make a mistake they're not telling the truth but anyone ever told you that they haven't lost the client they're not telling you the truth and so what i'll tell you is your mistakes don't define you losing a client doesn't define you if michael jordan misses as many shots as he makes right yeah baseball players strike out seven times hit the ball three times out of ten and they make a trillion dollars so my point is you got to keep everything relative okay so don't expect yourself to be perfect be kinder and easier to yourself and realize that sometimes this is just part of the journey like losing clients is part of the journey like look people return the loan signing system course before and it's not a knock against me it's just sometimes people make decisions on what they feel is best it may hurt us but you have to remember that's not a reflection of who you are it's a reflection of decisions they made okay and so look i would love to tell you that you're not going to lose any more clients in the future right okay you just are i'm going to lose clients in the future as well and so if you've been around business long enough this moment happens to all of us and so this is the first time it's happened as a young business owner it's like getting dumped for the first time you know you're 16 years old but what you learn from the next couple times you fall in love it gets better and easier and easier right and so what i would tell you is you just got to stay the course man you just got to stay the course the fact that you are you have you're showing this much emotion really tells me that you're an amazing signing agent because it shows that you really care it shows that you're emotionally vested into this business it shows that you are they're more than just a client and money to you it's someone that you are serving and so i think you just stayed with that game plan stay you stay emotionally vested and you will find the people you're supposed to work with you know i'm going to end with this this is probably the hardest thing to understand as a new business owner is you cannot keep everybody happy you just can't look as much as i would like to have as much as i'd like to have everyone as a student as love as much as i'd love to help every single signing agent scale to where you are sophia because like you're like my you're like my picture perfect student you go in you're getting direct business but i know that not everyone's gonna be like that and so i allow myself some grace because i all i know the best i can do is the best that i can do does that make sense and so my point is you have to give yourself a little grace and just understand look because they let me go doesn't mean that i can't serve this person on other time or on the other side of town bad does that make sense and girl you're amazing i tell you every week i'm proud of you and i don't want this to sound cliche but you cannot let your failures define you you just can't the reason personal growth is so hard is because it makes us reflect on wow i actually did something wrong or i actually can't improve and so the point of trying to make it you is right now you're feeling wounded that moment doesn't define you it stinks it's going to make you better but girl you're amazing you've inspired so many people on every one of these mondays going in marketing direct and the idea that this one client no longer use you isn't a reflection of you you know to me yeah yeah so how you move forward is just you got to get back on the horse now i don't know if you have any kids or anything when my child falls down the first thing i have him do is get back up if he gets on a bike it falls down it's okay let's wipe off your scars let's get up and let's keep going so i will tell you the same thing right as your coaches i need you to pick yourself back up and just get back out there man if you have a kid or a niece or nephew you would tell them the same thing look yeah you fell off the bike what would you tell them to do come on let's go we getting back on it we're getting back on it's exactly what you would say and so as as your coach i'm gonna tell you the same thing now what i'll end with is this is look man the best part about failures is they're just lessons or not failures you've learned a lesson look you learned it the hard way you're not going to make that same mistake again right so you're actually better because of this the person you're going to market to is actually getting a better version of soap does that make sense so my point is that's another way of moving forward and getting more confidence is being like look this person is getting a better version of me because of what i did last week and so those are the conversations that you have to have with yourself those are the moments where you literally have to have self-talk and be like i'm better because of this this is all part of a business owner's journey girl you're amazing thank you mark at the end of the day the fact that you care so much yeah it makes me so proud of you like honest that makes me so proud of you that you care because there are signing agents who make me say oh whatever but you don't like so i know you have what it takes to scale this business okay and and i'm gonna end with this and i i i want everyone to hear this is i want to make sure that you're setting yourself up with realistic expectations you're gonna lose clients that is part of it it's like a baseball player they're going to strike out so you have to just accept that this is part of the journey i tell you students making one mistake is not the end of the world it's making the same mistake twice that is that goes for anything in life the first time you make a little trip no big deal it's making sure you don't do that same thing again so grow you're gonna be awesome i appreciate your vulnerability i thank you so much for sharing this moment not only with me but with everybody on here but i'm gonna tell you one last time i have lost so many clients in 18 years i'm not just saying that to say that like i've lost so many clients and again so i've lost clients when it wasn't even my fault i'm like dude you never sent me that document how are you blaming me that this loan get phoned on time that's a true story right an escrow officer forgot to put a quick claim deed in and it was an investment property rate lock was pushing up but because they didn't have the spouse signed off the loan didn't fund they lost a rate lock the bar was on the hook for eighteen hundred dollars and they're like i didn't get a sign and i know for a fact that quick claim deed wasn't in the original file and so there's gonna be moments in this business where things are your fault and things aren't it's just all part of the journey right and so what i learned from that moment is not deleting emails of docs before before the loan funded so i can go back and make sure so my point is i learned lessons on that way so that didn't happen to me again but yeah i've got blame for not signing a quick claim deed and i'm like dude are you crazy it wasn't in there lost the client and did it break my heart yes did i lose revenue yes but i understood early on that's all part of the journey and so i just want you to understand it it doesn't make it okay but it just makes it it is what it is you're human we make mistakes and it happens man and i'm proud of you and the most thing i'm proud of you for is how much you care yeah that's what i'm the most proud of i i don't care and everybody in every title office where you live knew how much you cared you will be a millionaire signing service owner because most people don't care like you and so for that i want you to be proud of yourself and i i think it's a beautiful thing that you're you are vulnerable enough to share it to to shed some tears and yes it sucks yeah i'm not gonna i'm not gonna pretend like it doesn't suck man it sucks yeah but it's all part of the journey just like when a baseball player goes up and he strikes out part of the journey it's part of the journey right you cannot hit a home run if you don't swing so i'm telling you girl you can't build your business if you don't get back out there so you're awesome read all the comments when we're done with this thank you again for sharing this with me and everybody here but so you got this girl this is just the beginning you're going to look back on this in a year and like oh my god mark i lost two more clients in the next 12 months you're totally right it just is what it's just all part of being a business owner you know to me right thank you so much thank you that's another hug girl i hope you feel that i'm so appreciative for sharing it all right go get em let's go let's go let's go oh my gosh what an incredible way to start this monday i was one-on-one notary coaching look the biggest takeaway from that is is unfortunately the real honest truth is you're going to lose clients over the duration if you've been in business long enough you're going to lose clients look you've probably been to a restaurant and the restaurant had a bad day and your burrito came out cold and guess what you never went back to that restaurant that's just business right you probably used to go to the same coffee shop over and over and then all of a sudden you got a keurig and you're like yo i'm gonna save some money and drink coffee at home and that that coffee shop just lost your business losing and gaining customers is the part of this journey what i loved about sofia's message is something she didn't say and the fact that she was crying because she cared so much and that's all i want from you i want you to care like every client's the most important client i want you emotionally vested because the odds are if that's how you treat your client you're going to scale a big business so thank you very vulnerable everyone i hope we learned some great conversation points out of that conversation because as long as you care the business will build itself it hurts and stings when you lose that first client just like it hurts and stings the first time you lost that first love or you got stood up or you got you you got broken up with we've all been there but then you realize you look getting broken up with and being dumped is just part of the journey of adulthood and just like in a business losing clients is unfortunately part of it but as long as you care as long as your heart's in the right spot you will always build the business you want to be i'm so proud of you girl uh okay who's next what a great conversation to get started let's go with paula how are you doing today paula are you there yes that's you girl hi can you hear me i am good i am one of your newbies i spoke with you last week and i signed up last week so i am going through your course and i went only so far and then starting it over because i don't want to get too ahead of myself because i'm waiting for my still waiting for my test results all right first off welcome to the family so you're here and made that decision congratulations so this is a one-on-one coaching call what can i coach you on early on you're on your journey right okay so i see a lot of people taking gifts to like escrow offices title companies and they vary from donuts to like explicit like little cordery boards in a box really how much money should we invest in that type of marketing because if i know that i've been driving around my neighborhood and i've already found 10 tidal and escrow companies that's just in my town so if i can expand i mean that's going to be expensive we're going to be putting out a lot of money before we even get it yeah first two things first off make sure you finish the entire course because this is answered in great detail obviously or you want to be paying me to coach you on this but so let me give you more of a macro coaching moment okay because the micro coaching moments are in the course you bought so let me give you a macro coaching moment okay the first thing that you need to understand and you'll understand this as you go deeper into the course it's actually not marketing gifts it is saying thank you so much i'm trying to make is this well you know when you walk into a title company in the middle of the day you are interrupting their day you are interrupting the moment that they need to do to make money for their family you're walking in and saying stop doing title orders listen to me paula so i can pitch myself so i can feed my family and stop doing what feeds your family that's literally what we're doing in the middle of their debt it's a little dramatic but you understand my point right right so what i teach you is not to bring them gifts but to say thank you for that moment look i know i just interrupted your day let me just say thank you for the five minutes you're about to give me i want to say thank you for allowing me to stop what puts the money on your family's plate so you can listen to me teach i tell you how i can help you so the point i'm trying to make is this it doesn't matter what you bring as long as you're saying thank you you can bake cookies you can go to the 99 cent store and get some dum dums uh for 99 cents and just go i'm the dumb who interrupted you i'm so sorry it's the moment that you're trying to create does that make sense okay so yes yeah about how much money to spend because i actually don't want i would rather you make crochet thank you uh hot plates for free than to go buy a 20 starbucks card because it's not about buying anyone anything you've lost the bigger point again you'll learn this inside the course but the magical moment is not this idea well oh mark i need to go buy everyone in my town to give because that's not what i teach but i think thank you for the moment that could be literally you can go to the 99 store and get some just add water cookie mix bake 12 to 12 cookies and bring them in and say thank you it's the moment of just saying thank you has nothing to do with what you quote unquote or buying them because i don't teach you to buy you on anything i teach you how to say thank you does that differentiator make sense no no no i get it it's more saying thank you for the opportunity thank you for having an open door that's right and whatever your version of that is i'm impartial too and like i said i would prefer you to do more of a heartfelt thank you then oh i'm gonna go buy twenty dollars with a starbucks car does that make sense because the twenty dollars actually becomes impersonal and looks like you're trying to buy somebody that's not the loan signing system way i would rather you do something like get a pack of lifesavers and be like hey i want to be your lifesaver thank you so much for the 10 minutes today and just have a moment of gratitude and then and the lifesavers cost what 40 cents so it's nothing about money it's nothing about a gift it's everything about saying thank you does that make sense whatever that looks like to you is what i want you to give i don't want you to be because something someone makes a 18 gift basket remember a lot of those people on facebook are different parts of their journey they could be sponsoring a lunch you don't know what they're doing so i want to make sure i gave you the macro coaching it has nothing to do with dollars and cents nothing got it got it everything was just saying thank you for this moment thank you for allowing like you said for the opportunity to talk to you you can drop off some peeps and be like hey have your peeps call my peeps you know i mean like your job is to get creative with it especially in the beginning because money's tight and and i don't if money wasn't tight i would still tell you to get creative and authentic that's what makes somebody go oh my gosh because they could get three starbucks cards that day you're just the same but if you're the one who comes in with a dozen baked cookies of your mom's famous recipe now all of a sudden you're different than everybody else so i would actually tell you not to spend that much money i would tell you to do it now sometimes people get a little lazy and not creative there's not a wrong or right way to do anything there's just your way and if you're asking me as your coach i would tell you to tap into what kind of it's very paula right what can you do that gives a piece of you away that comes off authentic and that's what you should be focused on and i don't care if you're making 20 grand a month that should always be your driver not how much the product or gift costs because frankly it shouldn't be considered a gift it's a thank you appreciation opportunity does that make sense yes it makes definite sense and yes i've been blasting your your course on my way to work at work all day every day for the last five days so i'm hoping that pass my test so i can move forward in your course i'm here if you need anything you know that i'm going to end with this slow is a speed so don't be in a hurry girl the mortgages aren't going away so just make sure you download everything process everything up here and then your business will unfold the way it's supposed to okay thank you mark thank you you're welcome bye and welcome to the family thank you thank you you're welcome so i hope that resonated with everybody again especially if you're a loan signing system student your job is to be authentic and showing appreciation it's never about buying anybody look everybody teaches different things in my course i want you to say thank you for the moment again that could be a pack of lifesavers and saying i just want to be your lifesaver the next time you have a bind that your notary can't bail you out on i'm your guy i'm your girl right so it's a moment it's not what you bring that's not the loan signing system way and in fact escrow officers can feel when they're being bought or feel like when they're being bribed and you actually don't get any business they're like thank you for the starbucks card but i'm never calling you so that's not the loan signing system way the way i teach you is to be authentic full of gratitude and be grateful and whatever you can do to show that authentically is what you need to be doing all right what a great conversation my name is mark i teach the loan signing system if you're like oh who's this guy talking and clapping i help notaries build scale loan signing agent businesses to help their family with time effort and financial freedom if you want more information simply click the link in my bio hello me dosa hi how are you how excited i'm so happy i'm from california from modesto but i'm in colorado right now love it okay power of the internet girl so uh what can i coach you one day okay i've been a notary for four years but the first two years i was discouraged because then again people will make fun of my accent but that make me very strong and i noticed that there's a lot of need of spanish-speaking notaries in california and so i just want to give a message out there for people that wants to do the job that we're doing and let them know that we have to be strong that we have to um prove ourselves that we can make it then i went into york um i'm an lls student so you have encouraged me so much and i'm very happy and very thankful anyway besides that message i have a question yes you have told us that we have to call the best professors and let them know if we have the right side yeah so i did that couple of times and they are like if you made a mistake well we'll call you yeah so i found that a little bit rude first and foremost thank you so much for sharing that message you are amazing that the funny part is my bilingual students end up making the most money because literally you guys are in need and it doesn't matter if you speak spanish or russian or whatever to understand that's a really good niche to focus on so thank you for letting everybody know and by the way i think your accent is beautiful you're so welcome okay cool when i tell you to call and follow up just follow with gratitude you don't really you need to even be like hey did i mess up it's just hey this is nina i just want to say thank you so much for the opportunity to do your signing your borrowers were amazing if there's any time i can serve you again just please let me know so my point is maybe the next time just pivot that conversation more towards gratitude than saying hey did i make any mistakes because you're right they will call you if you made any but if you say you know what i just want to say thank you so much for the opportunity then it's usually reciprocated with oh my gosh you're so welcome or maybe it's hey do you have an address where i can send a thank you card to and so they'll be like wow you want to send me a thank you card yeah i'm so appreciative so if you can just skew that conversation more towards gratitude more towards like what's your address i'd love to send a handwritten thank you card i noticed i did not say send them anything just a thank you card sometimes goes a long way so if you can skew that towards gratitude make them remember your name oh my gosh you're the notary who sent me it's a thank you card now you're top of mind now they'll use you again does that make sense yeah it does it does and also what i do to uh say thanks to my local escrow officers what i do i just make some cucumbers with tahini and lemon and i'll just enjoy that yes yes yes yes yes thank you instead of uh spending money on uh starbucks cards or something like that yeah so i think that's very it's not it's inexpensive and it's very nice for them too because it's healthy and my life just like well i think the most important thing is it's very authentic it's very you right and nobody likes things that are generic right it's very like to your to your point very healthy so i love that that sharing of that little hack there but i'm going to end with this is just switch every conversation of gratitude switch it to like hey what's your address so i can send you some of that vital you know lemon water but if you just switch the conversation i think become more memorable and that's really the goal that you want yeah but what i'm what i'm saying is that i do like the escrow officers that i know i just walked in and because i'm i become friends with them that's right so i just come in with plates with oranges and black bars yes and so they're very happy too so that way there's another way that we have to save money we save money like that i love it thank you very much i already passed my test with you and i'm so happy thank you very much your motivation to me okay keep going i believe in you and let's go girl yeah let's go thank you oh my god what a great conversation i think my biggest takeaway on that conversation is everything you say and do is skewed towards gratitude then everyone remembers you here's what's crazy if you're like mark doesn't everybody show gratitude the answer is no i own a signing service and i don't know i handed out probably 10 000 plus signings last year do you know me signing agents called me up or sending me a thank you card i said i appreciate your business maybe 20. honestly gratitude is something that really has lost i think its way in society today but especially in the signing agent business i think a lot of signing agents take signings for granted versus trying to really create relationships and say thank you so if you really if everything you do from a point of authenticity of appreciation you might be surprised with how far that goes okay cool who is next let's go let's go let's go let's go let's see my man jeff okay jeff cannot join just joking jeff i'm trying to get a gentleman on here right now let's do uh deborah debra are you there how's everybody going my name is mark wills let's bring gratitude back that's what i'm saying let's go gabriel what's up what's up hi hi how are you deborah i am fine fine i went through your course and i know my lights are out i went through your course but i have a question i'm in the columbus ohio okay and my question they're talking about uh mobile notary signing that you can do it online without actually going to the office is that up and coming something okay so this is a good conversation the answer is no and yes so let me bring it back to the beginning with you okay so okay a lot of states around the country are allowing ron remote online notaries i'm guessing that's what you're referring to yes right right okay okay cool so remote online notaries should not be confused with e-signings so because your state allows notaries to be done over the internet does not mean that lenders allow their full set of loan dockets meant to be signed over the internet does that make sense now ron is the first domino that needs to fall in order for a lender to do a complete signing on the internet but just because your state allows remote online notice doesn't mean wells fargo allows the entire 150 pages to be signed online does that make sense okay so it's cost effective to do that no it's not even allowed so again remember ron is different than an e signing so that makes sense and e-signing means that all 150 pages of a loan document set can be signed over the internet ron just means the notorial part of that it can be done on the internet does that make sense that makes sense and i have one one more question let me just follow up with this real quick so i want everyone here this is a very common question okay what you need to pay attention to deb is e-signings so when you see on the news wells fargo allows electronic signings now you go okay i need to figure out how to get on e-signings does that make sense ron just means remote online notary so if there's 150 pages of a loan signing the five notary pages could be done over the internet but the other 145 still require a wet signature does that make sense got it now again just to reiterate so everyone understands this is the remote online notaries was the first thing that needs to happen in order for east signings to happen so now lenders are trying to figure out okay now that states allow ron should we do and allow e-signatures of all our loan docs that has not happened yet now i'm going to end with this there's a very small there's a handful of very small lenders who do allow e-signings however because there's a small percentage and not a wider percentage then it doesn't really make sense to go after the e-signing market because so many lenders still want the what signatures that i teach or that anyone teaches does that make sense i'm your student i passed the test and i'm fine good good good so remember wrong and e-signings two different things remote online notary right now is really good for general notary work opportunity not loan signings because wells fargo bank of america chase et cetera et cetera hasn't allowed for all of the loan documents to also be e-signed so just because your state allows remote online notaries okay that 25 of what needs to be accomplished in order for the signing agent to do a complete e-closing or e-signatures does that make sense that makes sense got it okay cool and i'm going to end with this you really student i do not take it lightly so the day that e signings or e-closings those are interchangeable words these signings or e-closings happen i'm your student of mine i'm going to tell you exactly what to do in order to get that business because remember i own a signing service that does seven figures the moment my personal business shifts my minute my personal business shifts i then need to teach everyone else because i'm gonna shift personally the reason you take my course is because i'm in the trenches with you guys so it's not like i'm out of the business the moment my business gets affected by e-signings or e-closings that's interchangeable then i will need to learn it myself apply it to my business and then i will teach every single student of mine how to do e-closing slash e-signatures and remember ron is just a small piece of that did that that was not one more answer than you wanted how do i get on your list because i'm not on your list i believe i need to call or email you separately that's how you mean did you was the question how do you get part of my signing service yeah what that tells me is you have not looked at all 300 signing services that i provide inside the course because if you did there's a little line that says this is mark signing service click here to email so i'm gonna have you go back in the course because you paid for not only that but all of the signing services in there okay i'll go back all right the thing was you meet on the day that i worked in the evening and that's why i passed it but i'll go back in there and do that thank you thank you thank you you're welcome let's go bye bye okay so my my my biggest takeaway was hopefully you understood the difference between ron and e closing our e-sign just because your state allows for remote online notaries does not mean that wells fargo chase allows e-signings of all of their loan documents does that make sense most banks if any go to a hybrid where some things can be done on online but some needs a wet signature does that make sense everybody so just because your state allows remote online notaries does not mean that wells fargo allows a complete e-closing or e-signatures of their loan docs two different things so don't get wrapped around like oh my state allows ron okay next topic that doesn't affect loan signings currently and if and when it does i'm going to teach you how to do it let's go all right who's up next oh what up what up how are you doing hi hi i'm mark what's your name where are you from i am in marana arizona just outside tucson all right all right all right so ask me any questions i'm yours i am seven months into the loan signing system i have been working with signing services doing very well considering i do this part time my question is i have to keep my nine to five at least for the near term because of some health issues i need the insurance but i also want to go direct to build this so hopefully at the end of 2022 i can say goodbye and still have um the income to self-insure so yeah how do i do direct marketing and let them know that i'm available after 2 p.m and not before good question okay so here's the first thing this is a great question for all the part-timers out there first thing is as you already know being a part-timer a lot of your signings are going to be nights and weekends you already know that's a true statement the point i'm trying to tell you is that doesn't change is because you go direct the majority of your opportunity is going to be post two o'clock anyways so i actually tell you students it's i would never tell someone you're only available after two because odds are they're only going to need you after two and for the two times that maybe somebody reaches out before two o'clock then you simply say i'm busy it's not the end of the world because as a new notary they're calling you almost because they're desperate right when you first try to get a relationship right so the odds are just if you remember back when you first started you end up getting a lot of the signings that veteran signing agents said to take right so they're probably kind of far so that's going to happen on the direct side and so when you get start building direct opportunities you're going to get those opportunities their current go-to notary can't make so the odds are it's going to be at night time at 10 o'clock at night odds are it's gonna be a last minute signing at five o'clock and they just got docked at 4 30. so my point i'm trying to tell you

is don't overthink it the same way that you start working with signing services is the same way you're going to work with direct does that make sense it does yes cool so that's my first half of that answer to you the second half of my answer is remember a lot of signing agents who are part-time like you either make a couple commitments a they market at lunchtime but b girl you get off at two o'clock you have three hours of the week uh of the working day to still go market so i would just use the two to five to go market i'd use open houses i'd use networking events but remember when you walk in you're all you're saying is i'm here to serve you and let them decide when they want to make that phone call so don't tell them that you're part-time don't tell them that you're two o'clock because odds are girl it's going to be a 5 a.m or it's going to be a 9 p.m on the first handful of signings and then once you prove that you're good then you can be like you know what i do have a full-time job in that moment you can start creating a relationship and then you can start being like you know what oh i can't do 12 but can you move it to three so that conversation comes after you've proven you can do an error free signing okay perfect i didn't want to be dishonest but i also don't want to cut my own throat right out of the gate because i am in an area with some pretty heavy-hitting lss students yeah so well you know like i said they don't need to know you're part-time that i i don't think you are being dishonest by omitting it you know what i mean you're telling a true statement that i am here when you need me and that's a true statement and if you happen to be busy just be like i'm busy there's no dishonesty in that right but remember even if there's lss big hitters in tucson you're not going to get the the best pick in the beginning anyways it's because they're not available so you're really not in competition with them because you're going to be taking the appointments they can't make right does that make sense so don't kind of psych yourself out i don't know if people still say that but don't like that they do and i have yeah okay okay so yeah don't psych yourself out on a scenario that hasn't happened and remember i'll end with this remember the way you got your first handful of signings with signing services is the exact same thing that's gonna happen on the direct they're gonna be like hey are you available at 9pm you're like yes i'll make it happen you know what i mean so don't just overthink that cool okay thank you so much i'm so proud of you thank you for calling in or talking to me because i think you're hearing from students that i don't normally hear from so thanks for letting me know that you're crushing it part-time out there thank you yeah bye you know i think my bigger takeaway from that conversation is don't forget that people don't need to know you're part-time because call me crazy if you had a 200 signing opportunity at 10 a.m in the middle of your work day you might not be feeling well that day you know what i mean my point is you'd probably figure out a way to handle that 10 a.m for a 200 signing appointment so i think that you might be a little underestimated in your willingness to have the schedule work around your job if the uh business opportunity is there all right so great conversation who do we got coming up next hi how are you darlene i am from northern california actually in the bay area so i've been a notary since 2020 and i actually did a i did a lot of training and all that good stuff for loan signing so i've been having all of my loan signing stuff since 2020 but for me it's been super hard to get signings or to feel comfortable enough to actually do signings and i haven't really found a mentor that's like nearby that i could the shadow of it or shadow with the loan signing process appointment itself just because i guess my things like the wording and how to walk them through and everything so i was so sick last week and i didn't work last week because i have a nine to five and tell me why i went on to your um onto your loan signing website and i was like you know what let's just do it because in my mind i'm like i already know this i already know what i'm doing i'm just shy or scared to do the whole process so i was going through your stuff and i don't know it was just it was amazing like everything the training the videos and everything is just amazing i feel a lot more com comfortable now and confident doing it i've seen all your obviously your advice and everything but what should i do i'm so nervous i haven't done not one loan signing so what should i do like what do you recommend for me to do i've literally gone back to that one video that you have that's like the walkthrough of the appointment itself and yeah yeah i'm still i'm scared i'm like um [Laughter] yeah thank you so much for that i appreciate the kind words i want to say thank you i want to give you your flowers because a lot of people feel like they can't learn more and the amount of people get stuck in that mentality are the ones who can't uh scale and so i'm proud of you what i really got from your videos were just read the paper what is it asking you just read it and i'm like oh my god that's so true it gets right there but i just feel like it's tense because i know i'm gonna have the client there and then i just don't want to seem like i don't know what i'm doing yeah well let me answer that question for you okay yeah and so you get a lot of great comments by the way so when we're done read those but here's my first thing here's the first thing you have to do okay and this goes to all my students whether you're trying to market for the first time take your first signing this advice or this training this coaching moment i want you to hit home i the first thing i need you to understand is you have to ask yourself this question am i nervous because i'm scared to make a mistake or am i not prepared those are two different feelings a lot of time new signing agents confuse being nervous with not being prepared those are two different feelings and so it's your job to be like am i just nervous about making a mistake or am i really not prepared if you have the conclusion that i'm not prepared then go back into the course but usually that's step one because usually what i find right is you're just nervous making mistakes so if you come to that conclusion which i bet you are i bet you are right you're just mixing the two so if you are nervous i'm not making a mistake the only solution is to do it see the you have to understand that experience is our best teacher too many times humans not just new signing agents expect to be good at something they've never done and that alone will cause you paralysis you have a successful person understands this you ready isn't a successful person understands and they have to be brave enough to suck a lot of people aren't brave enough to be bad that's why they don't scale and so here's the crazy part though here's the crazy part you have to be brave enough to suck but i'm going to tell you right now you're making the narrative larger than it is like i i market myself pretty well like i i know what you know the documents are and all that good stuff and like if you look at my instagram it i know what i'm doing it's just i'm nervous exactly it's the narrative it's the narrative so at the end of being like instead of telling you to do it scared right anyone can tell you that what i would tell you is reverse engineer scaredness okay cool i'm nervous am i nervous or am i not prepared which one am i okay i know i'm prepared now i'm just nervous okay now that i know that i'm nervous what am i nervous about making a mistake well that moment you just got to be like yo the only way to get good at something is to do that something what i tell people is this successful people embrace the learning curve unsuccessful people don't unsuccessful people want to jump into something being good at something they've never done a successful person goes yo i gotta go through this to get here and it's not that a successful person is better than you they've just embraced right i'm pretty confident when it comes to that but when it comes to itself i'm like oh my god like i know what i'm doing and it's funny because i can relate to the lady that was here before about her speaking spanish and her accent i feel a lot more comfortable with spanish-speaking people because i to me it's i know what i'm doing and they most of the time they don't so i feel like i'm the expert there but when it comes to they stop you make something they're stopping they stop you okay because this is a wrong narrative you have to understand that most people only buy a house once or twice in their life most people only refinance once or twice so okay most people don't know what they're doing not relating to the language they speak does that make sense so i tell all of you students is that your job the reason i teach the system the way i do and i don't want to give it away is because it commands credibility immediately they're like wow you know what you're doing so therefore they now listen to you so my point is this english russian spanish korean they most homeowners not all only done this once or twice so why are you assuming that everyone's done it eight times so my point is again this is just a narrative that you have to rewrite and so i think that you're scared of not being perfect and when people are scared of not being perfect it's more of an insecurity of being judged and so the insecurity of being judged is you saying look they probably haven't done this once or twice so what am i even scared of being judged for because they're gonna look at me as the expert because seven out of ten times is my guess maybe eight they're pretty brand new and that's why i tell you new students is if you your first signing takes you two hours most homeowners don't understand that they don't all take two hours it's a narrative that you think that they think that every sign you should take 45 minutes right why because i've done two in the right time does that make sense so my end of my comfort with you is you're amazing start being kind to yourself you don't need to be insecure about being judged because odds are they've only been through a couple of these themselves okay so bite the bullet let's go you got this let's go i love talking to you bye all right i think my biggest um takeaway this is you know i have a lot of students that are perfectionists and perfectionists are really it's an insecurity of being judged they're only perfectionists because they're scared of the judgment they're going to get if they make a mistake and this may be talking to somebody here and i hope it hits because most people aren't judging you period i think you need to get the narrative out of your mind that anyone's judging you understand that your biggest person judging you is you so if you can get out of your own way understand that you're amazing understand you put the time in understand that you deserve the greatness that you're about to embark upon it's easier to not be a perfectionist because the insecurity of being judged is what's holding you back from making a decision or a choice that's going to help you scale your business so get out of your own way start being kind to yourself like i am good at what i do i am walking people through their paperwork i am do like when you start having those conversations the fear of being judged lessons because you realize you're great all right so you're amazing i believe in you i my hour is up keep doing what you're doing how about phenomenal rest your week and like always i do believe in you man but i just can't believe in you more than you believe in yourself have an amazing week let's go
