can you believe it wow polony [Music] [Laughter] bellies it's a miracle this is insane what oh a bet Mumsy not for long yeah oh yes whiskey just do it unbelievable no my goodness oh gross yes no shut up Louie holy crap it's so crazy in your face as well goodbye what a party hey guys welcome back to my channel I'm Tara and this is Tara Tunes in today I am watching Trading Places I did a poll on my patreon to see what movies I could watch for New Year's Eve when I looked up New Year's Eve movies I got a whole list of movies that I just had no idea why they were New Year's Eve movies including this one I don't know why this would be considered a New Year's Eve movie but I will find out either way this is the one that was voted as the movie that I should watch for New Year's Eve I don't know anything about this movie the title suggests that maybe some people are trading places with each other but I do know that it stars Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd and has Jamie Lee Curtis in it and I love that the first movie I'd ever seen with Eddie Murphy in it was Beverly Hills Cop that is the only movie I've ever seen with Eddie Murphy in it so this will be my second one I loved Beverly Hills Cop so I'm excited to see another Eddie Murphy movie finally a lot of people suggested this one to me after watching that one I also really love Dan Aykroyd fellow Canadian he wrote Ghostbusters he was in Ghostbusters and I actually heard that Eddie Murphy was originally supposed to be in Ghostbusters as well which came out a year after this movie so they probably met here and then wanted to do Ghostbusters together but I think it was a timing issue or something and then the only other thing that I know that Dan Aykroyd was in is my girl which he was in with Jamie Lee Curtis um long after this movie came out so maybe they met during this movie as well anyway I don't know anything about the story of this movie but I'm pretty excited to watch it so if you're ready I'm ready let's tune in okay [Music] I'm excited to see what this one's about I think it's gonna be funny it's from 1983. Philadelphia Philadelphia looks like such a cool City I think I'd like to go there someday just because it looks like so vibrant and so culturally Rich there are a lot of cities like that in the US that I've never been to but just seemed like you could spend weeks there and never see everything it appears to be Christmas time foreign [Music] such a contrast between the way different people live what an elaborate home that breakfast looks delicious does this man select his clothing for him my goodness that would be nice I have a hard time picking outfits usually so that would be very nice it's great so extremely different from his character Rey in Ghostbusters and from his character and my girl I wouldn't get in the car I would just get in the car definitely the holiday season I saw a few trees oh here's another one um and a couple of Santas surprised he has to carry his own briefcase good morning good morning morning at some point that would just get so impersonal and annoying I did not surprise he just goes for some of them because so many people say the exact same thing to him not beautiful office it's the same photograph he had on his vanity while being shaved good morning good morning they have an entire staff so they said it so many times because there's two of them wow that's a beautiful beautiful home I think it must be a home but it looks like a castle [Music] when lie in the house they're all lawyers oh my God this is outrageous I felt like he looked straight at me that that man could run our company as well as your young one thought are we talking about oh a bet a wager an experiment resort to holding up people on the streets no I don't think just losing his job would be enough for Winthrop I think we'd have to keep a little more Misfortune on those narrow shoulders he lost his job and his home and his fiance and his friends if he were somehow disgraced and arrested for the police and thrown a jail even yes I'm sure he'd take the crime like a fish to walk you'd have to put him in the wrong surroundings of course with the word oh my gosh they're having so much fun cooking up this plan look at the sparkle in their eyes this time it's in a good cause how much you want to bet the usual amount why not [Music] it's the usual amount billions someone has to take a stand against criminals like that but he could have killed you oh she's [Applause] it's not right it makes me going down something's wrong where's Wilson what are they doing here they're selling Mortimer well that's ridiculous unless that prop report God help us [Laughter] totally bested God help us told you we shouldn't committed everything you [ __ ] oh my gosh this is absolute chaos I don't even know what to make of this I think their plan is working but it's like it's so crazy it's so crazy [Applause] ladies and gentlemen the orange crop estimates for the next year after calculating the estimates from various orange producing states we have concluded the following the cold winter has apparently not affected the orange Harvest foreign oh my gosh I could never work in a place like that holy crap [Applause] oh he's down man down [Applause] not even okay thank you and that's it 100 100 I want to know the final numbers here I want to know who lost what and who gave um Happy New Year Happy New Year Valentine how could you do this to us after everything we've done for you oh yeah I made Paul house at the same time you didn't think we could do it I won I lost one dollar thank you Lewis after you get your faces Arjun call gentlemen oh you can't expect us to know the rules of the exchange oh they're in trouble with you know perfectly well we don't have 394 million dollars in cash I'm sorry boys 394 million dollars oh my God they're gonna be poor are you abandoned investigation that's awesome you can't sell our seats we found it this exchanging Towers it belongs to us he's crying they deserve everything they got no bound prize you idiot where's Peaks where in the hell is Beat Speaks oh he's in a gorilla cave it's not all about that guy foreign there's two of them in that cage anyway take a look they're in love [Music] oh yeah Paradise yes what should we do about lunch the laughs at a crack crab Coleman's Rich everybody's rich now bye now Dimitri sir Lobster and crack crab forever good Mr Goldman awesome he deserves it [Music] Looking Good Billy Ray Lewis this is great [Music] oh that's cute [Music] well that was the delightful Trading Places uh I loved that movie that movie was so good I absolutely adore Eddie Murphy I adore Dan Aykroyd I love Jamie Lee Curtis this was awesome I also loved both of the actors playing the two old men they were so cheeky and so excited about their little scheme this was awesome what a cool cast what a great story that was so much fun I kind of love the message behind this movie I love that they sort of proved that anybody can be great and anybody can fall apart and it very much can depend on your life circumstances and things that happen to you or don't happen to you or the privilege that you were born with there are so many factors and this movie totally showed that so that's pretty cool but they did it in a hilarious way I love that winthorpe and Valentine banded together at the end they use their big old brains to come up with a scheme with Ophelia and Coleman by their size all coming up with this great plan to totally best those two old dudes and they got everything they deserve those guys I hope they learn their lesson and become better people because it's not cool to mess with people's lives for fun and I don't know if that happens in real life with rich people but I hope not because it's pretty terrible so as pompous and as confident as winthorpe was uh I he didn't deserve all of that horrible stuff happening to him anyway I had a great time watching this movie it was so much fun um it wasn't you know about New Year's Eve but there was a significant part of it that took place on New Year's Eve so that's good I just want to say Happy New Year's Eve to all of you out there thank you so much for joining me today and I'm wishing all of you a bright and beautiful 2023 from me to you if you like this video please hit like and if you want to subscribe please hit subscribe and keep coming back for more of these videos in the future thank you so much for joining me for this one and I will see you next time audio audio blah blah blah blah blah blah audio straight in places for Trading Places let's go and watch it yeah right now right now [Music]
